  • Installed PCI-6025E recognized by Windows XP but only in PXI system by MAX

I installed a PCI-6025E DAQ board on a Windows XP machine. Upon startup it recognized the new hardware and installed the driver from the NI-DAQ 6.9.3 CD. All seemed to work fine. When I try to bring up the device in MAX it only shows up in the PXI system section. This doesn't assign a device number or allow a test panel. So I don't know how to access the signal from Labview programs. Is there something I haven't done right?

    Hello magicjoecuda,
In general it sounds like you have done everything right and it is not that surprising that the 6025E shows up as a PXI device, but it is unexpected that it does nost appear as a DAQ device. I would try 2 things to work around this:
    1) Try installing the card in a different PCI slot on the computer.
    2) Uninstall the 6.9.3 driver and try installing the newest version of the driver. A link to the newest version of the driver for your board can be found here:

  • Using PCI-6025E with CVI2010

I have been bring older legacy CVI Programs to windows 7 and have gotten a snag with use of a PCI-6025E card.  The compiler project works fine in windows XP but when it has been brought over to win 7 it does not drive the DIO ports.
I checked the the card functions with NI-MAX with no issues.
Not sure if it is a driver problem or i have to include a new library in the old source code moving into windows 7.  i have the latest NI-DAQ installed but the original libraries that the source code was compiled with was from 2007.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Could you please confirm if the DIO lines work using a CVI example? -> C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\DotNET4.5\Digital

  • Poor performance accessing PCI-6025E

    NI Software : Visual C++ version 6.0
NI Hardware : Multifunction DAQ device PCI-6025E
    Driver Version : 6.9.1
    OS : Windows 2000
I am having a problem with the speed at which the card is accessed. This only occurs on one computer. Other computers are working fine and the code that we
wrote is the same for all computers. Interestingly, the Test Panel seems to work fine on the computer that isn't running my software right. Also, my software appears to run fine on the slow computer for about 3-5 seconds before it bogs down. Specifically, a call to AI_VRead goes from basically instantaneous response to taking 300-500 milliseconds. The computer with
the problem is something like a 3GHz P4.

Could it be a video (or other) driver issue? IRQ issues can cause hiccups like the one you mentioned.

  • Trouble using the counter on PCI 6025E

    Hello,
I am facing a problem with the counter on PCI 6025E. I am trying to count the number of pulses generated by the shaft encoder mounted on the shaft of a motor. I am using a channel from the shaft encoder to count the pulses and generate the line state. So, I have wired the channel to pins 25[line state]and 47[counter]on SCB-100. In my application I am using the count events/time vi from DAQ palette. Every time I run my application I have been getting the error NI 10001 saying that the ordering of the strings is not as expected.

    Hi,
The Count Events & Time.vi is typically used with older counter hardware such as the 9513 chip. Your E Series card (6025E) uses a DAQ-STC chip. The best way to count your edges is to open up the example "Count Edges(DAQ-STC).vi which can be found by selecting Help>>Find Examples... and you will find it under the DAQ Counter examples as an DAQ-STC example. Hope that helps.

  • DIO functions in MHDDK E series for PCI 6025E

    Hi,
I am currently developing a E series driver for 64 bits platforms. I didn't find, in the MHDDK, DIO functions for cards like PCI 6025E with digital I/O located in more than one port.
Can you please help me with that? Are there functions for DIO port selection and configurations in MHDDK E series?
    Thanks.

    Hi KBoussema,
Unfortunately, addressing the other ports is unsupported in the DDK. If you need more DIO lines, you could consider looking at an M Series or X Series board.

    Hi,
i'm presently trying to figure out if i can use the PCI-6025E Card to count up/down with a quadrature encoder with no additionnal hardware. I know my answer lies in a document called "Using Quadrature Encoders with E Series DAQ Boards document " but it is not presently available on the ni website.
Can any1 either confirm me that i can do this or send me the document?
    Thank you,

  • Why do i get a daq hardware configuration required window when trying to run the daq solution wizard?

i have recently installed the ni 4552 for pci dynamic signal analyser, and am attempting to configure my system and teach myself labview. when attempting to run the daq solution wizard i am presented with the daq hardware configuration required window.

hi brian, thanks for your help. i have recently received version 6.1, and done a complete re-install. i have also downloaded the latest ni daq (6.9.2) and ni dsa (6.11) versions and installed them, but still i get the same error message when trying to open the solutions wizard (please see attached powerpoint presentation).
upon selecting the "go to ni daq config utility" option MAX opens. everything appears to be in order (device passes test, test panels run ok and virtual channels are configured correctly). i am unable to go any further.
i would appreciate any guidance that you are able to give me in this matter. many thanks in advance of your help.

  • Ich benötige einen Treiber für die PCI-6025E. Beim Resurcentest fällt sie aus.

Der PC erkennt die Karte nicht. Er sagt die Resurcen passen nicht.

    Halo R Thanner,
Der Treiber für NI-DAQ 6.9.3 kann hier heruntergeladen werden. Der soll mit der PCI-6025E Karte passen.

  • Is PCI-6025E full duplexing ?

Do E series DAQ boards work in full-duplex mode ? Especially PCI-6025E .

I believe I may have sent you an e-mail about this. However, I would be glad to post about it here as well.
Full-duplexing is not a term we commonly associate with our DAQ boards. It is usually used in reference to serial-type communication that can go both ways at the same time (such as a modem). The best answer I can give on this is that the 6025E you asked about has 3 additional DIO ports (PA, PB, PC) which can operate in Bi-Directional Mode. This allows them to function as both inputs and outputs. The 6025E User's Manual is the best place to find more information about this.

  • NI-DAQ PCI-6023E nt embedded component

    Hi all
I am trying to develop a KDF component for a ni-daq pci-6023e card and when
I create the registy some keys stay in the CurrentControlSet instead of
being related to ControlSet001. Can anyone help me???
Is there a solution to this problem or a different approach I can use???
Does anyone know if Nationnal Instruments have kdf file created???
    Many Thanks!

    Hi Rimi,
While searching for a possible solution to your question, I came across a Knowledgebase entry on our web site. Its ID is 251BSUKN. Although PCI-6023 is not specififcally included there, taking a look at it might provide you some good insight into the problem. Also in this knowledge base, you will find an attachment of the kdf files. Please do take a look at the tutorial under the related links too. To access the knowledgebase, go to ni.com/support and type this knowledgebase ID in the search box at the bottom of the page.
    I hope this helps.

  • Ayuda con proyecto fuzzy y tarjeta DAQ 6008

    Hola buenas noches,

  • PCI 6025E Product data Sheet has an error

I was trying to trouble shoot a harware problem on a previously working system using a PCI 6025E. I needed the output connections for the digital I/O I am looking at the on-line product data sheet for the PCI 6025E page 12 figure 6 "I/O for the NI 6025E Device". I see that pins 25 through 32 are labeled P1.0 - P1.7 the only problem is that so are pins 97-83. I am guessing that pins 25-32 are really port 0 but can you confirm?
    Thanks,
    Rick Sharpe

Thank you for pointing that out. We will work to correct that error. For future reference, the pinouts in the E Series Help are correct. If you open the .chm file, click on the "index" tab, and type in the key word "pinout." You will see the pinouts for the different E Series boards. I hope this helps.

  • DAQ PCI-6034E for RTX

    Hi,
Does anyone know how to read data from the  DAQ PCI-6034E board using RTX ?
    thanks

    Hi,
I think you have to write a register level driver for the PCI-6034E to use RTX... No National Instruments driver exists for E series and RTX.
Below is a link to help you ....
    http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/5978CE4A83119E50862566FA0075F424?OpenDocument&node=13210...
Personnally, I recommend you to use new M series (similar to E series) because they are supported under RTX via NI-DAQmx Base 2.0.
