Yes, the MessageQ on Unix and Windows also supports multicast via MessageQ SBS protocol. But the Ethernet broadcasting is only support for OVMS.

Install oracle golden gate 11.1.1.0 for oracle9i on RedHat AS3 U6 issue
Hi expert,
I need install Oracle golden gate base on below combination:
GG version: 11.1.1.0 (x64)
OS version: Redhat AS3 UL6 (x64)
Oracle version: 9.2.0.8 (x64)
I set the .bash_profile for oracle as below:
export ORACLE_BASE=/u01/app/oracle
export ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_BASE/product/9.2.0
export GGATE=/software/ogg
export PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$GGATE
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib:$GGATE
However, after installation, when I run ggsci, it show below error message:
ggsci: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I searched the libstdc++.so.6 in the server and found one in /lib64/ssa/libstdc++.so.6, I changed the LD_LIBRARY_PATH as:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib:$GGATE:/lib64/ssa/
then this time it has below error:
ggsci: /lib64/ssa/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4' not found (required by ggsci)
ggsci: /lib64/ssa/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4' not found (required by /software/ogg/libxerces-c.so.28)
my question:
1. Is GG 11.1.1.0 supported on RHEL AS3 U6? From oracle official website, it seems only the EL 4 UL7+ or EL 5 UL3+ are supported.
2. If it's supported, how to resolve above error?
Many thanks for your help.Hi,
I think GG version: 11.1.1.0 (x64) supports only oracle 10g and 11g databases.
Try GG version: 10.4.0.19 (x64) for oracle 9.2.0.8
Thanks. -

You are missing some required Linux files. When you install
Linux, pick the 'everything' option, then weed out the obvious
things you don't want (like the Serbian How-To's, etc.)
I say this because I ran into the exact same thing this past
weekend after picking and choosing which packages to install for
Linux. After re-installing with the 'everything' option, the
Oracle install went swimmingly. I wish I could tell you which
package in particular you are missing, but I never figured that
out.

Upgrade install for newest version of Logic Studio questions...
I'm definitely interested in upgrading, lots of new features I'm excited about. However, I've got very little room on my hard disk, what do you guys think the footprint would be since it's an upgrade? Would it be smarter for me to remove Logic 8 et. al. before installing the new version?? TIA.
Logic 8 won't be removed, it'll still be there after the install.

Open parameters for linux version
Do acroreader's open parameters work for the linux version?
I know in Windows they are written as 'acroread /A page=xxx ...' and for linux firefox as 'file://...#page=xxx'.
But how about the arguments in command line?Good morning
Thank you for your reply, I’m trying to find out from our IT if we are using Adobe plugin or not. In the meantime I created a new document, created a link and tried to open in the browser and received an error message webpage cannot be found.
When copying the url the last four characters have been changed see below
http://wyp-infoshare/sites/forcepolicy/Corporate%20Support/Equality,%20Diversity%20and%20H uman%20Rights%20strategy.pdf%20-%20page=5
Would this be because we’re not using adobe plugin?

Firefox for linux uses the gtk theme icon in navigation bar, instead mac and windows uses other (trasparent) icons . I find more beautiful icons used in mac and win. Is there any way to force firefox to use this type of icons?
Have you checked the themes add ons? You may find a "Windows 7" theme or something similar!

What is the problem?Did you carefully go through all pre-req steps for install?
Oracle needs some "compatibility libraries" as well (compat-lib*). Here are packages for AS 10g, most or all of which apply to Database too.
Checking operating system packages: gcc-3.2.3-20,compat-gcc-7.3-2.96.122,compat-gcc-c++-7.3-2.96.122,compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.96.122,compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.122,setarch-1.3-1,pdksh-5.2.14,sysstat-4.0.7,gnome-libs-1.4.1.2.90-34.1,libstdc++-3.2.3,compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.122,compat-glibc-7.x-2.2.4.32.5
When required packages are in place, there's another error lurking, related to __libc_wait symbol.
runInstaller "boots" OUI, which includes running a JRE from tmp. This JRE (build 02) is broken, but you can setup to run another one via oraparam.ini and JRE_LOCATION. Download build 10 from Sun (google "jre 1.3.1 download"). -

Oracle Forms Developer/Services 6i Release 2 for Linux install help
I've downloaded the tar.gz file and extracted it. Im a linux newbie and dont know much about linux. I've installed several files already but in this particular case, I dont know how to install a program with a tar.gz format. Im using ubuntu by the way and I have oracle forms running on WINE. I want to install the linux version so it will run natively.
Hi,
First use gunzip utility to unzip .gz file. Once you are done, you will get a .tar file. Use tar -xvf to untar the file to a directory. It is similar to unzip.

Take RH9. Upgrade the compiler, the standard libraries, the binutils, etc. Remember that many, many, many of the packages that are installed are dependant on the standard libraries. Either you upgrade in a way that the base packages are protected - making the Oracle install painful but possible - or you upgrade to make the Oracle install easy and possibly break some/many of the other installed packages.
The solution is to use a certified version, or a clean clone.
http://www.centos.org provides free clones of RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 and 4 (RHEL), and the RedHat Enterprise is certified. For demonstrations and classes where RHEL is not available, I personally use CentOS 3 for Oracle9i and CentOS 4 for Oracle10g. Both install EXACTLY as Werner describes at http://www.puschitz.com
Ubunti, while nice, also provides some challenges with Oracle.
You see, it ALL depends on getting the supporting packages installed. Look at the Oracle Install for Linux documentation to determine the packages that are needed. Then do what it takes to get ALL those packages, at those versions installed. You can go somewhat higher, but not high enough to change the API.
Remember that the Fedora series is the 'public proving ground for new features in future versions of Red Hat Enterprise' ... a polite way to say 'public beta test'. If you chose Fedora, plan on upgrading often and pllan on having typical beta-test challenges.
And remember - it's not Oracle's fault if you decide to use a distribution that does not include Oracle's prerequisites. -
Oracle 10g R2 for Linux ubuntu
Hi,
is it possible to install Oracle 10g R2 on Linux ubuntu ?
If yes :
from here :
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html
which one
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Linux x86
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Linux x86-64
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Linux Itanium
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Linux on Power
Many thanks. Please note that this is 10g, and the UI has no support for Ubuntu/Debian.
To get 10g to install, you need to create the file /etc/redhat-release, and put some redhat-string in there...

I dont like windows 8 and would rather use w7 (i dont like windows at all but need it for using VB for a class at school) can i install a linux version like scientific instead of windows ? if i can ill just buy a cheap PC to use VB on
i have a usb super drive can i use that instead ? i dont have another usb stick and the one i have has 27G of data on it and tranfering it takes time. I can buy one if thats the only way to do it on a mac air but i figure i have the super drive and could put the w7 support files on it and i have the w7 on disk and iso img saved on the mac.

How to reconfigure Oracle-xe (Oracle 10g for linux)?
Hello!
I found this article (seems useful since I use Mandriva 2010.2):
I installed Oracle 10g from the file "oracle-xe-univ-10.2.0.1-1.0.i386.rpm".
Then, when run ./oracle-xe start and then ./oracle-xe status I get:

I would love to truy to reconfigure it but if I try the command:
