Instalation server patch distribution problem

HI!
I have set up an instalation server for GUI 7.10, and included both the GUI and BI components. I have patched them both with patches SAP GUI 7.10 patch level 3 and BI patch level 1 respectively.
The patching completes succesfully, NWSapSetupAdmin application shows that the patches are applied, but when the GUI is installed to a user machine, only the GUI patch is applied, and not the BI patch.
Am I doing something wrong, or is it impossible to distribute this patch via the instalation server?
Thanks,
A

Yes the client do have a correct certificate.  If I change the boundary to point to a Server 2012 or Server 2008 Distribution Point they pull content without issue.  When I change the boundary back to a Server 2003 DP they start getting "Access
Denied" once again.
The CAS log looks similar to the ContentTransferManager log in that it reports the link as HTTP instead of reporting it correctly as HTTPS like in the DataTransferService log.  Its just not consistent and I have verified that you can't even access the
site through standard HTTP, it errors saying you must use a secure channel (HTTPS) and I am able to browse the site just fine as HTTPS.
A few entries from the CAS log are below:
CContentAccessService::NotifyDownloadProgressEx - downloaded size -2, total size 0 ContentAccess
Location update from CTM for content Content_be7aaec1-0fb3-4c51-8f12-5adb0673b44e.1 and request {293F5F55-5C9B-4E83-A442-B0A930EE447C} ContentAccess

  • Client access from W7 to Server 2008 with SQL Express 2008 R2 not possible anymore (since installing yesterdays patches)

    Hi everyone!
We are suddenly having Problems to access our SQL Express Server from our Clients (SBS 2008 with W7 clients).
Till yesterday evening everything was working fine. At night we installed the latest MS patches für our Server 2008 (SBS2008).
Since then we are not able to connect to the SQL Express Server over the Network. Locally (on the Server) it runs fine.
Switching the Windows Firewall off on the Server also lets the clients connect ...
The Windows Firewall still has all the ports open needed for SQL Server, we havn't changed anything.
All the incoming rules that worked for years are still there (untouched).
We just deinstalled all the latest patches, but problem still is here ... not sure if this was just a coincidence ...
Any ideas what could be the Problem?
Thanks in advance for your help
    Best regards
    Thomas

    Check firewall rules
enable traffic on TCP 1433 and UDP 1434 (if isn't a named instance) or check sql using ports.
Check Sql Server Browser in Configuration Manager and also net protocols.
    let's know about it
    Best regards,
    P.Ceglie

  • Solaris 10 box -  install server PROBLEMS

    Hi,
i have an E450 setup with solaris 10, i follwed the docs to create an install server for solaris 9.
problem is : when booting client it gets the RARP reply and then sits and does nothing ??
The 2 machines are on their own separate network.
    Server ip = 192.168.1.101 SN 255.255.255.0
    client ip = 192.168.1.102 SN 255.255.255.0
i ran the #./add_install_client -e 8:0:20:xx:xx:xx ( client is in /etc/hosts) which reports no errors
    /etc/bootparams shows = server1 root=Xerxes:/export0/sol_9/Solaris_9/Tools/Boot install=Xerxes:/export0/sol_9 boottype=:in rootopt=:rsize=32768
    /etc/dfs/dfstab shows = share -F nfs -o ro,anon=0 /export0/sol_9
is this correct ?? and why is the client not even getting to the spinning dial ?? let alone the installation, do i have to have a sysidcfg file ????

Excellent. So we can see that the RARP has completed (sucessfully it appears), but the TFTP step has not. Perhaps the TFTP server isn't running properly.
Now I see what's going on. You're running Solaris 10 on the machine, but you're trying to jumpstart Solaris 9. That's fine, but those older scripts don't understand how to start Solaris 10 services.
It's very likely that the 'add_install_client' script populated /etc/inetd.conf and HUP'ed inetd to start the TFTP server. That's not sufficient.
You probably have some lines in /var/adm/messages saying that you have to run 'inetconv'. Run that and you should get a tftp service. (Check by running 'svcs -a | grep tftp'). With that in place, the boot should proceed.
(In answer to your other question, yes this is a combination boot and jumpstart server. Thats what you get when you run 'setup_install_server' and you don't use the '-b' flag to make it only a boot server).

  • Problem: installing Recommend Patch Cluster: patch 140900-10 fails

I don't know if this is correct location for this thread (admin/moderator move as required).
We have a number of Solaris x86 hosts (ie 4) and I'm trying to get the patched and up to date.
I obtained the latest Recommended Patch Cluster (dated 28Sep2010).
I installed it on host A yesterday, 2 hours 9 mins, no problems.
I tried to install it on host B today, and that was just a critical failure.
Host B failed to install 140900-01, because the non global zones rejected the patch because dependancy 138218-01 wasn't installed in the non global zones.
Looking closer, it appears that 138218-01 is for global zone installation only; so it makes sense that the non global zones rejected it.
However, both hosts were in single user mode when installing the cluster and both hosts have non global zones.
140900-01 installed on host A with log:

It looks as if the patch strategy is completely different for the two hosts; both are solaris x86 (A is a V40z; B is a V20z).
Trying to use "-G" with patchadd crabs the patch is for global zones only and stops (ie it's almost as if it thinks installation is being attempted in a non global zone).
Without "-G" same behavior as patch cluster install attempt (no surprise there).
I have inherited this machines; I am told each of these machines were upgraded to Solaris 10u6 in June 2009.
Other than the 4-5 months it took oracle to get our update entitlement to us, we've had no problems.
I'm at a loss here, I don't see anyone else having this type of issue.
    Can someone point the way...?
    What am I missing...?

Well, I guess what you see isn't what you get.
Guess I'm used to the fact USENET just left things formatted the way they were :-O

  • Applying JAVA patch (JSPM) in our newlyPI 7.1 installed server.

    Dear expert,
we are trying to apply JAVA patch (JSPM) in our newlyPI 7.1 installed server. It is windows Server 64 bit with oracle.
We have downloaded the JSPM08_0-20001887.zip and pasted in ..../EPS/in. Then run the D:\usr\sap\PID\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\JSPM\go.bat and selected JSPM, but it shows nothing.
Even after unzipping JSPM08_0-20001887.zip  it shows 3 folder BUILDARCHIVES, DEPLOYARCHIVES and META-INF and pasting in .../EPS/in it diddnot worked.
I have applied in Unix, as in unix we directly paste .SCA file into ../EPS/in and it works.
Here in windows i cluless, pl help us out.
    Regards,
    Ajit

    Hi Ajit,
    JSPM08_0-20001887.zip
As you said in earlier reply that you have downloaded the zip format of JSPM file.
But , zip file is not supported by JSMP for deploying the patches.
It seems that you have selected the file from SAP marketplace and put into your download basket and then you have right click on the JSPM file on download basket and saved to the location , becuase of which the file format has been changed from .SCA to .ZIP.
The best option of downloading any file is to use SAP Download manager , it will download the file with exact SAP format i.e SCA.
Once you download the file using download manager in SCA format , then you will be able to apply patch succesfully using JSPM.
    Thanks
    Anil

    SunSolve shows as current;

    Here is the uname -a;
    # uname -a
    SunOS hostname 5.9 Generic_112233-11 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-280R
How can I backout or down version an OS installed package ?

Unjar your files and you might see the premissions are not set for the post or pre scripts. I am not sure if this is a feature or there for protection in forcing one to install the patches by had , if you down load the zip version the perm are probable set.

  • TS4088 What happens if problems persist after I install the patch?

I've installed the software patch a few times and find that for a few days to a few weeks the intermittent loss of video seems fixed, and then it will come back with several blackouts in a short span of time, which prompts me to install the patch again...
Anyway, I'm wondering if there's a chance that upgrading my OS will fix it? Or is it just time to go to Genius bar and be w/o my machine for a while?

    The information is here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4088
Changing OS will not solve the issue.  A genius bar appointment is the best option.

  • Windows Server 2003 and problem with SSL connection (TLS)

    Hi,
We are forcing a problem with SLL/TLS connection on a machine Windows Server 2003 SP2.
We spent hours trying to solve it without any result.
    SYMPTOMS
No SSL connection can be established in any application since last year, e.g.:
we cannot do any windows update, because there is a time verification over SSL on the windows update website (there is an error that the time is incorrect while it is up-to-date)
we cannot open any website in Internet Explorer over https
when we try to connect to the SQL Server (database SQL 2008 hosted on the same server) with Management Studio it fails with an error: "A connection
was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake.(provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - Could not
    contact LSA)(Microsoft SQL Server)"
in a custom applications which sends requests over https we receive an error: "Could not establish trust relationship for SSL/TLS secure channel"
Everything seems to point at some SSL problem somewhere deep inside Windows.
We installed several patches, but without any result.
    Can anybody help?
    Regards,
    Dawid

    Hi, thanks for answers,
    - In IE both SSL2.0 and TLS1.0 are checked. We tried to disable TLS1.0 - with no results.
    - In  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\Schannel both SSL2.0
and TLS1.0 are enabled. We also tried to dislable TLS1.0 on the Client side - with no resuts.
    - In
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL EventLogging is set to 3, so it should log warnings
and errors. But we cannot find any related logs in EventLog
Unfortunately we are still in the same place.

  • Unable to install Siebel patch 7.8.2.16

    Hi all,
I have to upgrade from Siebel 7.8.2.12 to 7.8.2.16.
When I tried to install Siebel Enterprise Server in our siebel server, it raised an error message looking like "Unable to install Siebel Enterprise Server: Patch is associated with a product that is not installed on target machine". I find that the pacht version is not right, that i am trying to patch a SEA version with a SIA version, but i can´t find the correct patch in support.
I would appreciate if you have any insight to this problem.
    Thanks
    Leonardo

    Leonardo,
Here are the patch numbers for 7.8.2.16, you can search for the patch number on support.oracle.com:
    SEA: 11687075
    SIA: 11687049
    Thank you,
    Wilson

  • LMS 4.1 Patch Distribution Failure

I didn't have this problem in 4.0, and I've tried to upgrade 2 different model routers (891 and 2811) with the same error, anyone know what this means? Google was no help.
SWIM0151: The device is not running IOS Modular image in Install mode. Hence patch images cannot be distributed.
    Thanks,
    Craig

It sounds like you're trying to use the Pathc Distribution workflow for non-modular devices.  Do not select Patch Distribution.  Instead, select Software Distribution, and then follow the specific flow you want from there.

  • Failed Installation when installing a Patch

Version: Sun One Web Server 6.1 SP8
    OS: Windows 2003 SP2
I am trying to install a patch (it seems that this problem is happening no matter what patch I install) and towards the middle of the installation I get the following error:
    "1628: Failed to complete installation"
The install goes through these steps before I get the Error.
    -Configuring Windows installer
    -Extracting patch-id.msp
-Extracting ISScript1150.msi (hangs half way here for about 10sec)
    -then Error
If I try to run the patch-id.msp file the install creates on the temp directory I get the following message:
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on yuor computer and that you have the correct upgrade path."
    Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

    Hey,
I've got the same problem and was wondering did you ever get to the bottom of it?
    Cheers,
    Fintan

  • Novell-iprint-server patch-11778

    Hi.
I just installed patch-11778 via rug on a clustered node for the iprint
server and now I can not even start ipsmd on that node, iprint stops
with "FATAL Error (506D000C) occurred while initializing the Managed
Object database". Luckily I have not upgraded the other node in the
cluster so I can still start the iprint server there.
I searched everywhere on novell.com about this patch but could not even
find any confirmation that the patch exists. The patch info in rug
claimed to resolve the issues we have (needing to restart iprint every
    couple of hours/days).
    Anyone know anything more?
    /anders

I have just encountered the problem with the same results. Fortunately,
Novell came out with a patch that I installed via Linux Patch Manager.
The iPrint patch is Open Enterprise Server Patch 11856, released
10/16/07, and it resolved my Print Manager's inability to start.
    Good Luck with yours.
