Install a customer font - dynamic form design

Hi all,
we set the parameter  gs_docparams-dynamic mit abap_true for generating the form, beause we locate some form objects dynamically. Now we need to embed our customer font other licenses (for the dynamic form design).
So, we installed the font (for dynamic design) on the ADS, but it is still the same problem, that the font is not embedded in the PDF.
Should the font be installed on the ADS and the client?
Do somebody have install instructions? ...or other ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Marc

Hi,
What ever font you installed in ADS, Same font you need to install in your Desktop/Laptop where you are designing form.
Once the fonts are installed, they are visible  in your form and you can include the fonts  in the form.
Note: After Installing the font in ADS, you need to restart the ADS Service(Normally basis people will do this)
Thanks.

  • Custom font in forms

    Hi everyone,
    If I create a custom form in Acrobat by using some text form fields, if I set the form fields to have a font that I have on my system but won't necessarily be on another person's computer when they fill it out, will the other person be able to see the font, ie. will it get embedded in the form?
    Appreciate any advice.

    Hi,
    I just tried to use a custom font in my form but I got the following warning when I tried:
    You mentioned that the font would be embedded so I'm a bit confused. Can you clarify?
    Thanks

  • Tutorial: Creating a Dynamic Form Design

    Has anyone worked through this tutorial that is part of Creating Forms for Form Server?
    The xml and xsd files that come with Designer are NOT the same as the ones discussed in the tutorial. Not only are the names different, but the schema and data are different.
    Does anyone have the files that were used in the tutorial rather than the ones that now come with designer? It is difficult to work through this tutorial when the files don't match the discussion.
    I'm getting an error now when I attempt to preview the form: Error: accessor '$data.po.header.name' is unknown.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Sorry, as per usual, the moment I posted this, I found a workaround. I was using a custom tag developed by a third party that doesn't expose the same values to the backing bean as a dataTable.

  • Pdf reader requirements for forms designed in Livecycle

    HI guys,
    I have designed a few dynamic pdf forms that was developed using Livecycle Designer ES. These forms are online fillable forms and I will be uploading these on my site so my users can open these forms in their browsers, complete the form online and print it out for their personal use. These forms are more like online tools for the users. For this, I also have to provide a Troubleshoot guide to my users so they can refer to this if they are unable to open the forms or having trouble viewing the forms properly. So right now I am working on creating this Troubleshoot documentation and I dont want to give the wrong info to my users so I have some clarifications and some doubts and wondering if you guys can help me out..
    1) From what I understand, I think the users need to have atleast a v.8.0 of Acrobat Reader in order to fill these dynamic forms that was designed in livecycle designer ES. This is right? I think so based on my memory since I believe I read this somewhere. Would you be able to clarify this? Have I got the right version?
    2) Also, further to this I understand that the users need to have an Acrobat reader browser plug-in in order to open the pdfs in their browsers. So, I will be adding a list of various pdf plug-in download links for various browsers.
    3) I was wondering, what happens if the user doesnt have acrobat reader installed in their computer? What are the common other pdf readers that various users use? I know there are tons out there but I am trying to understand the common ones that majority of the people use other than Acrobat Reader. I mean users having mac or other OS. Will these forms also work in other pdf readers? Is there are a list of various pdf readers & the versions requirements in order for these livecycle forms to work?
    4) Other than the above points, do you think if I need to mention anything else in the troubleshoot documentation? Any points I may have missed?
    I am sorry..this is the first time I am uploading these online forms and I am trying to understand the requirements so I may be able to assist my users if they do experience any problems. So any help is very much appreciated!
    Thank you..

    Some users are having problems viewing my forms I created using livecycle:
    1) I have a created a few dynamic forms designed using livecycle designer ES..In order for my users to open these forms, they need to have atleast Adobe acrobat / reader version 8.1 or higher to view these dynamic files. However, quite a few of my users are saying that they are still unable to open these forms directly from their browser although they have downloaded the latest Acrobat X version and the browser plug-ins in their computer. It happens to both windows and mac computers. But they are able to download these files and open it directly from their adobe reader though. It happens with all browsers for them...some of them have even called up mac support as well as adobe support and they were advised that it could be a problem with my forms that I find hard to believe since it opens in my computer and opens for a lot of other users. Its only a few users still having this difficulties and I can't understand why! They have also tried enabling "Adobe Reader" as a default problem to open pdf files by opening the adobe reader. They also have tried uninstalling and re-installing the readers and still the same problem. These LC files just dont open inside their browser for them.
    2) Also, I recently uploaded a dynamic file in acrobat file sharing. I noticed that when I click on this file sharing link, it also shows the message that I dont have the latest reader installed (something similar to what my users say about my forms), Why am I getting the below message when I have the latest adobe installed? I am able to open other dynamic xml forms in my browsers..why does this happen? I wonder if other user's problem who open my forms from my site is similar to this problem I have with acrobat file sharing...not sure... (example url: https://acrobat.com/#d=fs-E6Bqml8r0FWI8aMu09g )
    To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from etc...etc...etc..
    What can be the problem when the adobe version is already updated and also the plug-ins are updated too?? I have read a lot of links in adobe site itself which suggest various methods to test out the forms, browsers, plug-ins, etc..and I also understand that it doesnt work for iOS & Android devices, but this problem still happens to some users even after trying out these troubleshoots. Can someone plz explain if there are other limitations or solution for these users?

  • Embed Fonts in dynamic forms

    Hi,
    I'm using Designer 8.2 and I want to embed custom Fonts in a dynamic PDF, because the document might also be opened on clients where those fonts are not available.
    Everything works fine with static pdfs (File Properties in Reader -> shows that eg. Bell Gothic Std Light (embedded ...) is embedded in the form. This forms works fine on clients where Bell Gothic is not installed.
    The same Form changes it's  behavior when I save it as a dynamic pdf.
    File Properties don't show embedded fonts information
    Bell Gothic is replaced
    Any ideas why?
    How can I fix this problem?
    regards
    Johannes

    Hi Paul,
    I've attached both files.
    maybe you can find the initial hint to solve this problem.
    I don't think that it has to do with licenses, because in this case it should not be allowed to embed the fonts into a static document.
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/8.2/static_dynamic_diffs.pdf explains the differences and on page 10 you can find the font topic

  • Installing type 1 font in Windows 7 - AWEFUL customer support

    I purchased and installed Helvetica Bold Oblique font this morning and downloaded it to install on my computer. I have @600 fonts on my machine, so this isn't my first attempt at installing fonts, but it's certainly been the most annoying and it's exposed Adobe customer support as one of the most incompetent I've dealt with in decades. Let me preface this by saying I've had every version of Adobe Creative Suite software and use the products extensively, but this painfully simple issue of installing ONE FONT has got on my last nerve.
    So, when attempting to install the font, it errors and provides the following feedback: The file is a 'PFB' file for a type 1 font and cannot be installed directly. Please install the associated 'PFM' file. I've downloaded the font files twice, and neither includes a 'PFM' file. There's a 'PFB' file and 'AFM' file, but no PFB file. I even tried installing the 'AFM' file, but no luck. After spending over an hour on the phone with a completely computer illiterate foreign support staffer, I'm at the end of my rope. She didn't know the first thing about Windows 7, and starts telling me to look for options that don't even exist in the operating system. I SIMPLY NEED TO INSTALL ONE FONT.
    So, is there anyone that can help make this the simple 5 second operation that it should be? I'll have to ask for some latitude on the anger - I'm just blown away at how stupidly difficult this has become, when it should be as simple as flipping a light switch. Any help is much appreciated.
    System:
    3.2 Xeon Quad core
    2x2 TB drives
    2x1 TB drives
    32 GB RAM
    Nvidia Quadro 5600 display adapter
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    Adobe CS4 Master Collection

    I'm sorry to hear about the frustration. I'm not using Windows 7 yet, but it does sound like its font installation process has changed. I did some searching and came up with a free utility to convert the AFM and INF files that come with Type 1 fonts to the PFM file that is needed (along with the actual PFB font file).
    The utility is called AfmToPFM and can be found on this site:  http://www.proximasoftware.com/download.htm (direct link at http://www.proximasoftware.com/afmtopfm/)
    I have never tried it, but I did see a couple of references to it being the solution for installing Type 1 fonts into Windows 7.

  • Custom Text disappears on exit when using Dynamic Forms

    If you have a dropdown list and you tick the box to "Allow Custom Text Entry" in a Dynamic form format, it will not hold the custom value when you leave that field.
    If you save the Dynamic form as a Static Form the custom entries work fine.
    I need help ASAP with this as it is very annoying.
    Thanks in Advance

    I need help with this. I followed these instructions to the T as far as I am aware but I cannot get it to work. I get the error message:
    "Script failed (language is formcalc; context is
    xfa[0].form[0].form1[0].#subform[0].DropDownList1[0])
    script=addEnteredValue(sDropdown_XFA, svalue)
    var oDD = xfa.resolveNode(sDropdown_XFA);
    if ((null == sValue) || ("" == sValue))
    return;
    var sLBValue = "";
    var bFoundValue = false;
    for (var i = 0; i < xfa.resolveNode(sDropdown_XFA + ".#items").nodes.length; i++)
    sLBValue = xfa.resolveNode(sDropdown_XFA + ".#items.#text[" + i + "]").value;
    if (sValue == sLBValue)
    bFoundValue = true;
    if (!bFoundValue)
    oDD.addItem(sValue);
    oDD.rawValue = sValue;
    addEnteredValue("form1.#subform[0].DropDownList1", gDropDownTemp.value);
    gDropDownTemp.value = "";
    Error: function 'addEnteredValue' on line1, column 38 is unknown. "
    Obviously I'm doing something wrong. How do you make it recognize the addEnteredValue function? -- When I added "gDropDownTemp;" to the File-->Form Properties-->Variables tab it said that it MUST have a value so I put 0, it wouldn't allow me to not enter a value even though instructions say otherwise. I'm new to this and I know what I want but getting to that point is another story it seems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Designing dynamic forms

    Hello, I've been given a 20 page form in pdf that needs dynamic fields added. The auto detect in Acrobat is useless and I opted to open each page in Illustrator then copy the fields to Indesign and export, but the Acrobat auto detect is still useless and inconsistent, exporting some items and not others and exporting some squares as text, some as check boxes and some as radial even though they all have the exact same formatting and size (tried making them circles). Is there a way to tag the objects so they export as they should or some software with a bit more logic than Acrobat?
    At this stage there is no way that I can find to rectify the issues without manually placing the majority of fields which will take days. There must be a solid way to design dynamic forms and wondering if any gurus out there have any tips. I am operating CS3 (will have CS5 in a few days if the client can wait).
    Thanks very much for any help.
    Cheers, Leah

    InDesignSecrets has some information on creating forms by using a hidden layer in InDesign to include elements that will help Acrobat auto-detect the form fields.

    Cannot get dynamic form to add additional lines as needed.
    Created simple dynamic form with "Add Item Button" designed to add an item line. Item line only has one text field. Used the "instanceManager.addInstance(1);" javascript line for the button.

    There was some trouble with the initial installation of Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, requiring assistance from technical support. I don't know if I am having continuing installation/operations problems or if it is programmer error.
    I have been told by Adobe Technical Support that they "don't"/"won't" support javascript issues, so I am left on my own to determine the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

    I should also mention that I can call up the sample forms provided by the program and those samples work, but as I try to create a form from the beginning, it does not work.

  • Dynamic form font color changes after saving

    I have a dynamic form that before the user clicks inside a textfield ghost text appearance is set to red once the user starts typing I have an event set to turn the font to black.
    The problem is, once form is saved and reopened the font color is red instead of black. How can I get the font color to remain black?
    I am thinking that script should be in the PreSave event if so, please provide an example of how it should be written.
    Thanks

    I have several events happening in the text field
    for the ghost text (tool tip) I have set an initialize event: (by the way I did choose the color red for the font in the color picker for the tooltip color)
    this.execEvent("exit");
    this.format.picture.value = "null{' " + this.assist.toolTip.value + " '}";
    Enter event: (this changes the font to black and bullets appear)this.fontColor + "0,0,0";
    this.font.posture = "normal";
    if(this.rawValue === null)
        this.rawValue = "l ";
    Exit event
    if (this.isNull)
       this.fontColor = "255,0,0,";
       this.fontposture = "italic";

  • Customize Approval Form to add custom fields using SharePoint Designer

    Hi,
    i have a created a Custom approval workflow using SharePoint Designer 2010. This is two steps approval WF, All i did put the variable "CancelonRejection" Value "Yes" and one Approval action with 2 different users as Serial. Right now
    Status, Requested by, Consolidated comments and comment fields are available on the approval form. Now i want to add some fields with radio buttons on Approval Form, so that 1st approver can select those radio/check box. Once 1st approver will approved this
    then display all the values on 2nd approver approval from or send email to 2nd approver along with all the information from 1st approver.
    Thanks in advanced!

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to customize Approval Form to add custom fields using SharePoint Designer.
    In the SharePoint Designer, you can customize the task form.
    Here is a great article for your reference:
    Creating Custom Workflow Task Approval Forms with SharePoint Designer 2010
    However, every task can only have one task form.
    That is to say, the two approvors will have the same task form.
    As a workaround, I recommend to customzie the task form using InfoPath.
    You can create different view for the approvors.
    You need to add form load rules to swich views based on the approvors.

  • Custom Barcode in Adobe Form Design

    Hi All,
    I want to know is it possible to add a custom barcode in Adobe designer (SFP) and if yes then how to achieve that ?
    Regards

    Hi,
    you cannot use custom barcodes. Only barcodes available in the library can be used.
    You have to wait till sap releases upgrades with additional barcodes.
    Thanks

  • Embedding Fonts with Forms Service RenderPDFForm

    We have several custom fonts being used in PDFs we're rendering using the Forms Service RenderPDFForm API. Rather than require consumers of these PDFs to have those fonts installed, we'd like to embed them in the PDFs being generated. Is it possible to embed fonts using RenderPDFForm?
    Tom

    In the adobe/LiveCycle8.2/deploy folder there is a file called:
    adobe-forms-ivs-jboss.ear
    Deploy that file on your app server (note that the name may change to reflect your app server). Once it is deployed you can access the application (it is a testing program for Forms). The URL is:
    http://machinename:port/FormsIVS
    Once it is loaded click on the preferences in the top right corner. Scroll to the bottom and add the administrator/password for your installation. In the first field (called Options) changed the parameter PADebug=0 to PADebug=1. Don't forget to hit the save button at the bottom of the screen. This will return you to the Test Form Design screen. Choose a form from the right List (I chose PurchaseOrder_Dynamic Interactive.xdp). In the Output format dropdown, choose PDFForm. Now click on the Use EJB button. A call to form server will be generated and returned to the screen. Because we have PADebug set to true the whole process is being traced. I am running a JBoss server so the files are written to:
    C:\Adobe\LiveCycle8.2\jboss\server\all\svcdata\FormServer\Debug
    It will be a different location depending on the appserver type you are running. In that folder is a file called:
    debug_xci_pdf.xml
    Make a copy of this file and rename it to MyTest.xci. This is the control file we will pass into the call and also modify to embed fonts. Open this file with an XML editor. In the xci file look for the pdf node under the present tag. In that node there is a child node called fontInfo. There is an embed tag in there that is set to 0. Change it to a 1 and save the file. Now in the call to Forms you can pass in a URI to this file in the XCI URI parameter. You can change this in the FormsIVS application in the options string and try it for yourself before changing our app. So now each time you want to embed the fonts pass the XCI URI into the call otherwise use the default one that is embedded in the jar file.
    Let me know that it worked for you.
