Install acrobat 7 onto Vista laptop

I am trying to successfully install
the old acrobat 7 onto Vista laptop
but I end up with error messge - missing pdf maker files - when I try to use it.  Also the pdf icon does not appear in the excel icon display at the top of the screen. This Acrobat 7 has previously been installed on the office PC & runs successfully but I use the laptop more as I am more mobile these days.  I must be doing something wrong - would appreciate if anyone can advise.

Hi,
Adobe Reader and Acrobat support for Vista started with the update patch for release 8 in early 2007.
Adobe states:
function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
Acrobat 7.0 and earlier will not support Windows Vista.
Acrobat 7.0 and earlier will not support Office 2007 or Office 2007 files.

  • After downloading foxfire 4 it says I have to shut down foxfire before it will install. I cannot go any further and it will not let me install the foxfire program. What do I have to do to install forxfire onto my laptop?

I downloaded foxfire 4 onto my laptop. As soon as I start into the install program a message comes on that foxfire will not install untill I exit forxfire. There is nothing running except the install program. As soon as I click ok everything exits and starts all over again with the same message. It will not install. What can I do to get it installed

To get rid of "pop-up ads and other crap on my computer when I am on the internet", click on Safari in the Menu bar, and select Preferences. Next select Extensions. Delete all of them. Restart Safari.
The first step in addressing the black screen is an SMC reset.
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

  • Installing Leopard onto a laptop with a broken internal DVD drive?

I'm trying to install Leopard onto my PowerBook G4 (yes, long past the warranty but she's an old workhorse). The internal DVD "super" drive has been broken for a couple of years, so I've got a nice, fast, solid Sony external USB 2.0 DVD/CD player/burner.
Just now I inserted the install disk into the drive. The disk mounted. Install window popped up automatically. Clicked the button to restart and install... the Mac restarts alright, but there's no installation happening (and no error message to tell me what's happening).
I've been searching the documentation and this forum and so far I'm stumped. Can anyone shed any light on this?
Is it simply impossible to install Leopard from an external USB drive? If so, is there a non-disk method anyone can suggest?

Please post the specs on your g4, lets make sure its possible first, then someone here can help get you going.
And to add to that, I am thinking that it would have to be a firewire disk drive to boot (?? Anyone?)
I also have to agree with Jeff, If you have another mac with a working dvd drive, or know someone (use beer as payment ) with a mac that would be quick and easy. If you do it as jeff suggests, then both macs need to be the same, or if they are different, you can put the disk in the borrowed mac, shut it down and restart holding the T key, putting borrowed mac into target mode, then hook you mac and borrowed mac together with a firewire cable, start your mac holding the alt/option key which will bring you to the disk selection screen, pick the Leopard disk and it should start the installation.
Make sure when you get to the point in the installer where it asks you which disk you want to install to, make sure you select your mac (as the borrowed mac's hdd will show up also)
The above method basically turns the borrowed mac into an external firewire DVD drive. K

  • Documented fix doesn't work: problems installing acrobat on vista

I have a brandnew pc running on 64-bits Vista.
During my installation of Adobe creative suite 3 Web Premium, I got the error message that adobepdf.dll was missing. I found the technote http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401731. In it it said tot install a MS hotfix available at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930627. At first it seemed that this didn't work, because I got a strange error, but extensive research with MS learned that it meant: it's already installed on your computer. So far so good.
According to step 3, I downloaded Version 8.1, Adobe Acrobat 8 licensing service update (Windows Vista only), guessing that this is the right one. I extracted the files onto my desktop, but when trying to execute InstAS.exe, very little seems to happen. I very quickly see some sort of Dos-screen opening and closing. It goes to fast to even read what's on it.
By the way: I tried downloading a file with the exact same name from the internet and put it in the map that the repair installer looks for it, but that didn't solve the problem...
Since Adobe doesn't support 64, I'm left with an unusable product (that I did pay for and would really like to use). They advised me to try the forum. So please, can anyone help me? Thanks in advance for your trouble...

  • Installing program onto new laptop?

Hi, I got a new mac and would like to install my existing CS5.5 Design Premium Suite onto it while keeping it on the older laptop. Is it possible to do this?

What Rave said but this is specific to each operating system.
You cannot install Creative Suites on both Macs and Windows; just Mac only or Windows only
Provided they're both Macs, you'll be fine.

  • How do you install photoshop onto another laptop?

I have a dead laptop, I need to install photoshop ontp my new one.

You can just download the version you have licensed from Adobe and install it.
You'll need to activate it with your serial number if you have a perpetual license, or just log in with your Adobe ID if you have a Creative Cloud subscription.
Both your serial number and the download link are available from Adobe.com if you registered your product.

  • How to install PS7 onto vista.

I've tried running it as an XP program and as Admin, but with no success. Please help me.

If you don't have Vista sp2 installed download and install the windows installer 4.5 as it has fixed many software install problems. If you don't have Vista sp2 installed I would install it. Also turn off any anti-virus and also windows defender. If you have adobe reader remove that from the computer.
Good luck and happy new years!!

  • Aging music fan wiped IPOD  when installing itunes onto new laptop on xp

I have just bought a high end sony vio with duo intel running windows xp. I installed itunes and when I synched the ipod I wiped all my tunes.
BUT my ipod still shows about 20% space on memory used so I am pretty sure the songs are still there
Does anyone know how to recover the songs and provide a simple step by step guide on how to do it?
    Your help much appreciated
sony viao   Windows XP   intel duo t2400

Since you have a new computer with (presumably) no songs on it, it was doing exactly what you told it to do. You probably clicked Yes at the box below.
You can try www.yamipod.com and see if it can get the songs off your iPod. Not sure if it will work though.

  • Trouble Installing Lr4 onto Mac Laptop

Mac MacBook Pro meets all Lr4 stated requirements.  It has a core-duo Intel processor, running Mac OS 10.6.8, has
plenty of RAM & hard-disk space on a SSD drive & 1440 x 900 ppi resolution.  Once Lr4 is installed, the icon is
covered by a grey circle with a slash, stating it is not supported.
When Adobe 800 customer service is contacted, the script readers in India state that Lr4 is not supported on a SSD drive.
I find this unbeliveable, especially given the latest Apple offerings come equipped  with otional SSD.

Have you tried removing Lightroom 4 and then reinstalling from the latest update at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=113&platform=Macintosh.  Once you install 4.2 you will then be prompted to enter your serial number upon first launch.

  • Trying to install Acrobat on a Vista laptop, but can't find the installation icon in the Adobe Application Manager

Hi, trying to get Acrobat installed on my Vista laptop but can't seem to find an icon for it in the Adobe Application manager.  I have a CC license and it installs fine on my Win7 but can't seem to figure out how to install it on my Vista laptop.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Normally if something does not appear in the download options it means the machine does not meet the tech specs for the product.  In this case, Vista is not in the tech specs for Acrobat Pro XI if that is what you are trying to install.  For whatever reason it skips from XP to Windows 7.
