Install Acrobat 9.5.2 update on Mac hanging

I have Acrobat 9.3.2 and it's trying to auto-update to 9.5.2 on the Mac and it just hangs.  Pops up a sub-menu about editing PDF docs pre-checked, but wont move on and just hangs there.   Can't click on, can't force it. Uninstalled it, reinstalled 3x and still can't get it to do it.
Any advice?
Adobe wont allow tech support chat because I didn't upgrade even though I have 47 licenses.  All my Mac's are stuck with the same issue.

Hi,
Please try to download and install the updates manually : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Mac

Deepak

    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and
               terms apply.
Actually, you cannot download Snow Leopard. You downloaded a Snow Leopard updater.

  • Unable to install Acrobat 8.2 Standard update

I'm trying to install Adobe Acrobat Standard 8.2 update and it always fails with the error"Internal Error 2254. , Registry"
I have tried this on both Windows 2000 and XP and get the same error.
Prior to the patch install, the product version was 8.1.7
The same patch also applies to Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 and I was able to install it without any issue.

Are you doing this manually by going to the update site and downloading the update, or by the Adobe automatic update process?

  • Installing Acrobat on a machine running both Mac OS and Windows OS

I have a new MacAir (Mountain Lion OS) and that will also have Windows 7 installed (via Parallels software).  I want to install Adobe Acrobat XI (Standard preferably, or Pro if required) so that I can print to a PDF from any application, whether in either Windows or Mac OS environment.  How do I install Acrobat to achieve this?  Do I have to install it TWICE, once in Mac environment and then again in the Windows environment?  Or can I install Acrobat just in the Mac envronment and have it show up as a printer option in Windows applications?  Thank you.

It can't be done. Serials for standalone products are platform specific. Yes, you would have to install it in both environemnts, but as per the previous, it's not possible unless you have 2 licenses. That aside, if all you want to print to PDF, then there's enough free alternatives like GhostScript.

  • Can't install Acrobat PRO in CC using CS6 (mac)

    Hi Community,
In my Company we plan to upgrade to adobe CC (2014) on macs.
In the first step we try to use CC and CS6 together on some macs to ensure it's working.
But since the installation of CC Acrobat PRO X (from CS6) asks for the licence key again when starting.
Unfortunaltly the problem still exists after reinstalling the CS6 package.
In the CC i have no option to install Acrobat PRO XI.
From the Adobe support I've got the hint to delete a file called opm.db in users/Library-folder but this did not help.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
    thanks

  • How do I install acrobat pro for student to a mac?

I bought the student version that says on the product specs that it works for mac and it downloaded the windows version.  It never gave me the option to change it to mac and now it won't install.

    Hoi ginajadg2,
Please try downloading the MAC version from : http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=acrobat_pro&loc=us
Alternatively you can try downloading from the direct download links available at : http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-xi-pro-standard-reader-direct-download-links.html
But make sure you follow the important steps mentioned on the page before initiating the download.

  • Can acrobat 9 pro be updated onto mac 10.8.2/mtn lion? how?

i had acrobat pro 9 on a mac 10.6.8 that updated regularly up as far as 9.5.0.
then i upgraded to a new machine running 10.8.2 - acrobat migrated with everything else and sent  update reminders for 9.5.2, but when i tried to update - i couldn't.  i got messages that 2 items needed correcting (printing and safari fixes), did those - but continued to get same message.
so i uninstalled and reinstalled pro 9 (using application folder's uninstall).
now i don't even have 'check for updates' in my help menu!
i downloaded the update from the adobe site, and when i try to run it, it guides me to select the app i want to update, but the app is greyed out, so i can't select it.
i'm now noticing on the site that incremental updates are required, so that may be the problem -- but i can't seem to start from the beginning (9.1) because it only goes up to mac version 10.5.x and i'm 10.8.2.
so i can't seem to do updates even to get back to 9.5 - apparently i'm stuck at 9.0.
does this mean i'm stuck where i am -- or is there a workaround that any of you knows?
    hoping you experts can help!
    thank you so much!

i'm answering my own question - in hope it helps someone else.
i was able to get back up to 9.5.2 from 9.0, by doing each update one tedious install at a time.  thanks to brian for mentioning that.  it worked even though the stated information gave compatibility only up to mac os 10.5.x, and i'm at 10.8.2.
haven't tried using the program to work yet, but it seems to be on track.
    thanks, all.

  • Cannot install Acrobat Pro from Cs4Web Premium. Mac osx lion

I have had a problem for a while that although the updater keeps announcing an update and allows its download it will not update saying that Acrobat Pro needs re installing.
I have tried to reinstall several times but each time the install hangs on "Preparing to install".
Today I bit the bullet and uninstalled Acrobat Pro to try and resolve the problem and I still, after numerous attempts, get the installation hanging up at "Preparing to install".
I have repaired disk permissions and no change.
The disk image I am using, fully paid CS4 Web Premium, was downloaded today.
I need Acrobat Pro to function on a daily basis and any help would be hugely appreciated.
    Thank you for your time
    Will

I am having the same problem as Willwinch, and it is increasingly upsetting me.  My Acrobat Pro 9 was running perfectly fine until a HD failure.  I installed and restored my files from a time machine backup and right away received a "Suite Product Activation Needed" error message.  After chatting with Adobe customer support, I was advised to ininstall and reinstall Acrobat Pro.  Fine, did that only to get an error that said "Licensing for this product has stopped working.".  More customer support chatting indicated that the activation process for Acrobat Pro 9 is not supported with Lion.  That is worth repeating, the ACTIVATION process is not supported.  They said nothing about the actual software as much as I tried to get the "support" to clarify.
To make things more frustrating, my only option to get Acrobat Pro would be to upgrade to version X... Which I do not care to do. I paid $2600 for the Master Collection 16 months ago and I was hoping I could have functioning software a little longer than that.  To make things EVEN MORE frustrating, because I bought the suite, I can only upgrade to the CS6 suite.  Not only do I not care for Acrobat Pro X, I don't care for the entire suite at the moment.  I am comfortable with CS5.
There has got to be some license file I can access and copy over or some other method of activation that will allow me to use my legitimte paid-for software that obviously works.  I teach at a university and for years I have been a strong advocate of not pirating software to my students for a bunch of reasons.  One of those reasons was "You will be glad you did when you need support".  It is sad that is not true.   I am not about to start pirating Adobe software, but I sure am going to be less likely to advocate against it from now on.
EDIT: This gets awesomer.  I finally called a sales rep and he said I could upgrade to just Acrobat Pro X rather than having to upgrade the entire suite... which is sort of a consolation prize since I was hoping to get Acrobat Pro 9 working as it was.  However, there was a little emailing and account snafu which resulted in Adobe charging my card twice AND me getting locked out of my Adobe account.  Now I get to wait 5 to seven days for $199 of the $398 I was charged today to be refunded.  It is amazing how easy money flows into Adobe and how difficult "service" and "product" are to get out.  The sales rep was at least friendly and not condesending as the tech help was earlier.

  • Error 2349 installing acrobat 7.0.1 update

Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1
    Acer Aspire 5750, 6GB Memory 64-bit OS
When I attempt to update a Prof. 7 installation I get the following messages:
    Internal Error 2349
    And OK.
The installatino then reverses itself and I assume removes the temporary files it was installing.  I am able to run Acobat Prof. 7.0 again.  So I would like to install the upgrade.

With Win7 you probably will never be able to obtain the Adobe PDF printer port. The AA7 version is not compatible with Win7, and particularly x64. Change the port to File. When you print you will be asked for a file name. It will be a PS file, but may have a prn extension. Once saved, simply open the file in Distiller to make the conversion. You will have to experiment, but do not expect AA7 to fully work in a Win7-64 environment. The key is to find what you can make work and then deal with it that way. AA7 is 4 versions back, coming out about 8 years ago. MS has created new OSs along the way and Adobe does not maintain capabilities for all of them with AA7. If you ask Adobe about the problem you are having you will simply get the answer that you need to upgrade to AA XI. We can try to help you win AA7, but do not expect everything to work.
