Install-ADDSDomain is not recognized as the name of cmdlet

Hi
I have issue with Install-ADDSDomain even if I try  Import-Module ADDSDeployment they are not recognized. I updated the powershell to 3.0 version but in vain
The complexity resides in the simplicity Follow me at: http://smartssolutions.blogspot.com

Hi,
What version of WS are you running? Install-ADDSDomain requires a minimum of WS2012.

    Well assuming that is the entirety of your Create-SPFoldersBulk.ps1 script then the first issue is that it does currently do anything. Your script defines a function but then doesn't call it.
    You're then running the script correctly as :
    .\Create-SPFoldersBulk.ps1
    and then I'm guessing you're trying to run the function, but that won't work from a command line. That's why you're getting the error, PowerShell doesn't know about the function outside of the code execution, and won't run the script instead since you haven't
    added .\ before it.
    If you really want it to be using a function then you'll need code later in the script to call that function, eg add the function call you entered at the prompt into the script at the bottom, and then run the script like you did initially, or if you're looking
    to be able to run the script and be able to pass those parameters to it from the prompt then you probably want to adjust the script to :
    Param (
    [parameter(Mandatory=$true)][string]$SiteUrl,
    [parameter(Mandatory=$true)][string]$LibraryName,
    [parameter(Mandatory=$true)][string]$CSVPath
    Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell -erroraction SilentlyContinue
    # Import CSV
    [array]$FolderList = Import-Csv $CSVPath
    # Script Variables
    $spWeb = Get-SPWeb $SiteUrl
    $spList = $spWeb.Lists[$LibraryName]
    Foreach ($folderGroup in $FolderList) {
    # Create Parent Folder
    $parentFolder = $spList.Folders.Add("",[Microsoft.SharePoint.SPFileSystemObjectType]::Folder,$folderGroup.Root)
    $parentFolder.Update()
    Write-Host "The Parent folder" $folderGroup.Root "was successfully created" -foregroundcolor Green
    # Loop variables
    $i = 1
    $col = "S"
    $colID = $col + $i
    While ($folderGroup.$colID -ne $null)
    $newSubfolder = $splist.Folders.Add($parentFolder.Folder.ServerRelativeUrl, [Microsoft.SharePoint.SPFileSystemObjectType]::Folder,$folderGroup.$colID)
    $newSubfolder.Update()
    Write-Host "The subfolder" $folderGroup.$ColID "was successfully created" -foregroundcolor Cyan
    $i++
    $colID = $col + $i
    $spWeb.Dispose()
    and then call the script from the prompt as :
    .\Create-SPFoldersBulk.ps1 -SiteUrl "https://spdev.baordbooks.com/legal/DAP/" -LibraryName "DAP Documents" -CSVPath "C:\Script_Files\folderList.csv"

  • Intermittent : The term 'get-date' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program.

    I have developed a batch harness whereby all scheduled tasks (W2012) invoke a common powershell script that acts as a wrapper to all our housekeeping jobs.

    Hi,
    I have setup Sharepoint 2013 standalone on Windows 2012 server. I am developing an app that will make use of social apis of sharepoint 2013. Out of the box installation didnt have Distributed Cache Service running and I am not sure if its needed to be run

    The issue is because your PowerShell console has not loaded the appropriate SharePoint DLL
    in order to call the API. To resolve this, you can open the SharePoint 2010 Management Shell to execute the script or add the assembly manually before running the script.

  • Powershell - The term is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program.

    I am trying to run the following Powershell in orchestrator to move a new user into a specific OU based on the Department field specified by the creator.
    $dept = {Department from "Initialize Data"}
    if ($dept -contains 'IT') {$NewContainer = OU=IT,DC=test,DC=net}

    How can I get it to not try and pass 'IT' as a cmdlet?

    I think I may have actually found the solution I was missing { } around the command
    I encapsulated the powershell in { }
    $dept = {Department from "Initialize Data"}
    if ($dept -contains 'IT') {$NewContainer = OU=IT,DC=test,DC=net}

  • SQL Svr 2012 / SharePoint 2013 "Install-SPRSService is not recognized..."

    Greetings --
    I'm having a heck of a time trying to get Reporting Services integrated with SharePoint 2013.  The end result is that no matter what I try, I keep getting the "The term 'Install-SPRSService' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet" error
    which thereby prevents me from finalizing the integration with SP 2013.
    Following is a description of my lab + the steps I've followed to try to resolve:
    In a virtual environment with 3 machines, I have one set as the Domain Controller, one with SQL Server 2012 installed (no reporting services), one with SharePoint Server 2013.
    The domain is working fine... no problems there.  SQL Server 2012 is working fine... I can connect to it locally and remotely, execute commands, etc.
    On the SharePoint 2013 machine, I have tried two ways... 1) install SharePoint 2013 first, then install SQL Server requirements... 2) install SQL Server requirements first, then SharePoint 2013.
    In both methods, I am installing both "Reporting Services - SharePoint" and "Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint Products" on the same machine as SharePoint Server 2013.
    My understanding was that when SP is installed first, the SQL Server installation should auto-register the necessary components (meaning running Install-SPRSService and ServiceProxy are not required). However, in this scenario, this doesn't appear to
    have happened.  The service does not appear at all within SharePoint.  Attempting to run "Install-SPRSService" fails with the "not recognized" error.
    In the second scenario (Installing SQL Server components first, then SharePoint second), it is my understanding that the "Install-SPRSService and Install-SPRSServiceProxy" must be run manually. With both SQL Server components and SharePoint 2013
    successfully installed, running "Install-SPRSService" fails with the "not recognized" error.
    I would also like to point out that I am executing the Install command from the "SharePoint 2013 Mangement Shell" (right clicking and running as Administrator).
    Any suggestions or nuggets-of-wisdom would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Hi,
    I had the same issue when installing SSRS in SharePoint integrated mode. I had SharePoint management Shell opened, installed SQL binaries and then tried to run command Install-SPRSService
    and Install-SPRSServiceProxy. I got the same errors.
    But then I thought, if assemblies for SharePoint are loaded when Management Shell is opened, the assemblies were not
    there when I opened PowerShell. So I just closed Management Shell, opened it again and everything worked as expected.
    Hope it helps

    The hard drive and dvd drive are not recognized on the setup menu for my Pavilion a4316f desktop computer.  Could it be a failure of the controller?  Can a PCI controller be used to replace the mother board controller?

    The Recovery process would erase you hard drive, and attempt to install a fresh OS. Decidely a bad choice if you wanted to save your data files. The Recovery sets are "tattoo" with the BIOS hardwafre configuration. It will not, IMHO, recognize the PCI Sata card.
    You mentioned the Recovery program on the hard drive actually requested the installer of the controller (PCI card). Try running from that.

  • Im running lightroom 4 and just purchased the Sony A7 and using its sd card. when I   tried to load the photos, I got a message "the files are not recognized by the raw format support in lightroom"

    Tried loading my raw files shot w my new Sony a7 and its sd card into lightroom4. Got a message: "The files are not recognized by the raw format in lightroom"
    Does Lightroom 4 not work with the Sony A7?
    Thanks,

    Lightroom 4 cannot read the RAW photos from a Sony A7
    You would have to download and install the FREE Adobe DNG Converter version 8.5 and then convert your RAW to DNG, and then import the DNGs into Lightroom 4
    You could also purchase Lightroom 5.5, which will have the capability to read the RAWs directly.
