Hi I am trying to download adobe photoshop cs5 on my new desktop computer. The program was purchased several years ago so I called Adobe the other day and had them walk me through how to download on my new computer. I have done all the steps and it downloaded into my downloads folder however not it will not install. It is saying my security preferences allow installations of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers. ???? I don't know how to go about changing these settings? Please help!
You should be able just to either right click on the installer or Control click and choose Open and then the installer should work.
(that temporarily overrides the security settings)

if you no longer need ps on your old computer, open ps>help>deactivate.

Can you Install Adobe Photoshop CS5 on Win 8 with no disc.
I recently acquired a HP ENVY Touchsmart 15 Notebook PC, which comes with Windows 8. I am currently attempting to transfer my programs from my old computer (which was Windows 7) to my new computer, which includes re-installing Adobe Photoshop CS5.
However, as this computer that I currently have doesn't have a CD drive (I was not aware of this as it was a gift), I am unable to put in the CS5 installation CD. I still have all of my licensing information, though. So, that leaves me with the following questions: Is it possible to install CS5 without a disc? And if so, does Windows 8 even support CS5?You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

Installing old Photoshop Elements on a new computer
I have an old version of Photoshop Elements and a new MAC. It was previously installed on my PC which crashed. But the new MAC won't let me install this software - it tells me there is an error with the install.
OK... so this is an OLD version - it is 4.0 (2006). My MAC is running OS X Version 10.8.2. The installation begins and some of the files begin installing then it quits and the message reads: "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."

What is the exact error message which you receive? Also what version of Photoshop Elements are you trying to install? Finally what version of Mac OS are you using?

Be aware that two versions of Photoshop will be installed 32 bit and 64 bit. The 32 bit is there for legacy reasons with some plugins e.g. TWAIN scanner
