Network Analysis Module (NAM) port-adapter not collect data
Hi,
i have an issue for collect data on adapter 1, that don´t collect data but see that adapter 2 if collect data on module 4.
monitor session 1 source vlan 102 rx
monitor session 1 destination analysis-module 4 data-port 1
monitor session 2 source vlan 106 rx
monitor session 2 destination analysis-module 4 data-port 2
I reconfigured newly monitor and continues with that issue. Always ok by data-port 2.

Cisco Prime Network Analysis Module (NAM) 5.1
Hi I have NAM-2 with software version 4.2 installed in my network and i am making very good use of these module for troublshooting,
I can run multiple captures files at local disk simultaneously and i can decode real time any capture file which is running.
I want to clarify following things,
I upgraded one of my NAM2 from 4.2 to 5.1 but i see following differences,
I cannnot do multiple captures at local disk simultaneously. it is not allowing me to create 2nd capture at localdisk while one is already running while in 4.2 version i can run multiple captures to local disk.
Its mean if i have 40G local disk, it's mean, it become reserved for one capture untill i stop and save there,
Also i cannot decode running capture file real time untill i stop.
I would apprecite if someone can clarify, whether it was enhancement in NAM 5.1?
Configuring Capture Sessions
You can create up to ten capture sessions, and only one capture session per disk (local or external).
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/network_analysis_module_software/5.0_1_T/user/guide/capting.html#wp1252570NAM 5.x removes the ability to perform multiple captures to a single local disk because that results in unreliable capture behavior (packets may or may not be dropped depending on whether the disk can keep up with the data rate).
You should still be able to decode memory captures while running. For disk captures, the capture file must not be in use (i.e., for a multi-file capture, you can decode any file other than the one currently being written to). -
Network Analysis Module (NAM) appliance 2220 version 5.0.1 and SNMPv3
Hello,
Is there some patch requirement for SNMPv3 on the NAM appliance ?
I tried to do SNMPv1 on a 6509 with VSS it works fine and I could capture the packet of the SNMP request.
If I tried to move to SNMPv3, the communication failed and there is no SNMP packets transmitted from the NAM.
I was wondering if there is a patch requirement for the SNMPv3 (as for SSL or HTTPS) ?

I've got :
Access to the managed device failed. This may be due to
1. Incorrect managed device IP address.
2. Incorrect managed SNMP community string.
3. The managed device's SNMP access control list is enabled.
If the managed device's IP address or community string is incorrect, please use the input
fields below to set the correct IP address and SNMP read-write community string.
Otherwise, check if your managed device's SNMP access control list is enabled
and make sure that the NAM's IP address shown in the Test popup
window is included in the access control list.
I've got this result when I test SNMP connectivity on the 2220. I tested snmpv3 with authpriv, authnopriv, noauthnopriv.
Test Connectivity :

SNMP write from managed device: Failed
So I was thinking at some small license requirement for SNMPv3 as no packet were transmitted from the 2220. Unlike in SNMPv1 where I could capture the management packet. -

Hi,
Edge role is design for perimeter networks, to keep security risks minimum. So it’s not recommended to have edge role in internal network. Must have separate network or subnet for edge services.
If you are playing around it in labs, then you can put edge role within same subnet as other exchange roles and no specific requirements in that case.

In Order to Configure TCP/IP, You Must Install and Enable a Network Adapter Card
I get this message when I try to TCP/IP settings in any network card.
"In Order to Configure TCP/IP, You Must Install and Enable a Network Adapter Card"
What I have tried:
1. Removed card, did not click on "Remove driver". Then re-scanned in device manager. This usually leads to the network card showing up with a yellow exclamation mark, and I can not get it work again (have to use system restore).
2. Removed card, deinstalled driver, re-installed driver.
3. Rebooted a thousand times.
4. Used the Lenovo drivers.
5. Used the Intel drivers.
Doesn't matter what I do, I'm stuck with yellow exclamation marks in the end for the LAN and WLAN card, with not hope to repair them.
Driver version for the Intel 82579LM is 12.9.15.0
Driver version for the centrino advanced-n 6205 is 15.10.4.2
I'd really like some help on how to fix this so I'm able to configure my network manually.For clarity, as your machine MTM number lists it with another type of WLAN adapter, and apparently, therein lies your problem.

Network Analysis Module - Capture File Download

NAM Moduels Network Analysis Module 3 WS-SVC-NAM-3-K9
installed in
6506-E
software version 6.0
We have generated some Capture files, that we now would like to Download at once. Not by clicking each file and make a single download.
There are some 2000 files, thats why :-)
Does anyone have an idea how to do that? Is there any direct access to the internal Hard Drive? I could not find anything in CLI or GUI Guides.

The first thing i learned was to install and configure BO on my notebook.
I downloaded the followings Tools:

- Integration Kit

- XCelsius
By trying to download - Query as a Webservice i saw there were with sequences 1-3. Which one should i donwload?
1. I would like to know which logic to follow toinstall it.Which one should be the firt and which one the last.
2. Before installing Query as a webservice i should first install:
- BusinessObjects XI Release 2 SP2 Enterprise Edition
- Web Services--> What is that and where could i download it?
- Tomcat or another supported Web Application and JDK--> where can i download it?
3. .What is NET 1.1? Where to download it and how to install it?
Any information or expereince will be very appreciated.

Sequence 1-3 you will have to download all the 3 as it can be part 1 part 2 and part 3.
Tomcat .If you are installing for the first time it will automatically install tomcat and JDK if you are connected to the net while installing Business Objects.

Hi there, i have an issue installing oracle forms and reports. its throwing this error"INST-07408: Unable to install or configure the product on a 32-bit JVM on a 64-bit machine. Make sure to install and configure the product in supported modes." on step 5. I have jdk 64bit installed, weblogic server was installed successfully but iam getting stuck somehow.

As we all know,
the Windows Server Essentials Experience role is available in Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter. We can add the Windows Server
Essentials Experience role in Server Manager or via Windows PowerShell.
In this article, we introduce the steps to install and configure Windows
Server Essentials Experience role on Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard via PowerShell locally and remotely. For better analyze, we divide this article into two parts.
Before installing the Windows Server Essentials Experience Role, please use
Get-WindowsFeature
PowerShell cmdlet to ensure the Windows Server Essentials Experience (ServerEssentialsRole) is available. (Figure 1)

Add Windows Server Essentials Experience role
Run Windows PowerShell as administrator, then type
Add-WindowsFeature ServerEssentialsRole cmdlet to install Windows Server Essentials Experience role. (Figure 2)

2. Configure Windows Server Essentials Experience role
(1) In an existing domain environment
Firstly, please join the Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard computer to the existing domain through the path:

After that, please install Windows Server Essentials Experience role as original description. After installation completed, please use the following command to configure Windows
Server Essentials:
Start-WssConfigurationService –Credential <Your Credential>
Note: The type of
Your Credential should be as: Domain-Name\Domain-User-Account.
You must be a member of the Enterprise Admin group and Domain Admin group in Active Directory when using the command above to configure Windows Server Essentials. (Figure 5)

Next, you can type the password for the domain account. (Figure 6)

After setting the credential, please type “Y” to continue to configure Windows Server Essentials. (Figure 7)

Open PowerShell (Run as Administrator) on the Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and type following PowerShell cmdlets: (Figure 9)
Start-WssConfigurationService -CompanyName "xxx" -DNSName "xxx" -NetBiosName "xxx" -ComputerName "xxx” –NewAdminCredential $cred

After you type the commands above and click Enter, you can create a new administrator credential. (Figure 10)
After creating the new administrator credential, please type “Y” to continue to configure Windows Server Essentials. (Figure 11)
After a reboot, all the configurations will be completed and you can open the Windows Server Essentials Dashboard without any errors. (Figure 12)

In an existing domain environment
In an existing domain environment, please use following command to provide credential and then add Server Essentials Role: (Figure 13)
Add-WindowsFeature -Name ServerEssentialsRole
-ComputerName xxx -Credential DomainName\DomainAccount

After you enter the credential, it will start install Windows Server Essentials role on your computer. (Figure 14)

After the installation completes, it will return the result as below:

Next, please use the
Enter-PSSession
cmdlet and provide the correct credential to start an interactive session with a remote computer. You can use the commands below:
Enter-PSSession –ComputerName
xxx –Credential DomainName\DomainAccount (Figure 16)

Then, please configure Server Essentials Role via
Add-WssConfigurationService cmdlet and it also needs to provide correct credential. (Figure 17)

After your credential is accepted, it will update and prepare your server. (Figure 18)

After that, please type “Y” to continue to configure Windows Server Essentials. (Figure 19)

2. In a non-domain environment
In my test environment, I set up two computers running Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and use Server1 as a target computer. The IP addresses for the two computers are as
below:
Sevrer1: 192.168.1.54
Server2: 192.168.1.53
Run
Enable-PSRemoting –Force on Server1. (Figure 20)

Since there is no existing domain, it is necessary to add the target computer (Server1) to a TrustedHosts list (maintained by WinRM) on Server 2. We can use following command
to
add the TrustedHosts entry:
Set-Item WSMan:\localhost\Client\TrustedHosts IP-Address

Next, we can use
Enter-PSSession
cmdlet and provide the correct credential to start an interactive session with the remote computer. (Figure 22)

After that, you can install Windows Server Essentials Experience Role remotely via Add-WindowsFeature ServerEssentialsRole cmdlet. (Figure 23)

From figure 24, we can see that the installation is completed.

Then you can use
Start-WssConfigurationService cmdlet to configure Essentials Role and follow the steps in the first part (configure Windows Server Essentials Experience in a non-domain environment) as the steps would be the same.

How to install and Configure sharepoint foundation on administrator account ??
Hi there guys dev
I want to try sharepoint foundation for first time .
I installed windows server 2012 ans sql server 2012 and then installed sharepoint foundation 2013 .
now when I want to create a new server farm enter my windows name as database name and then enter my administrator account name as username ans it's passwors as password but after then when I click on next to create new server farm give this error :
"the administrator account can't use for new server "
please help how can I create a new server farm with administrator account .
I don't want to create it with the active directory domain and add new forest and create it with my domain name ?
if does it a way to create a new server farm with administrator account so please help to create it ?

According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you created a new farm with the administrator account by runnning configuration wizard.
Is the SQL Server installed in the server that hosted SharePoint 2013 Foudation? If not, please make sure the server hosted SQL Server has the same account with the server hosted SharePoint 2013 Foudation.
Please run the SharePoint 2013 Products Configuration wizard with ‘Run as administrator’.When you entered the user’s name, please use the format ‘domain\user_name’.
In addition, please check the log file to find more information about this issue. The path is : C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS.
Also , you can use Event Viewer to find the log by Start->Run->event viewer.
