Install anywhere Application fails

i AM UNABLE TO INSTALL WEB LOGIC SERVER FOR WINNT
THE INSTALLANYWHARE APPLICATION THROWS ERROR AFTER

CANY ANY ONE HELP?

I've got the same problem. I've downloaded the file weblogic600sp1_win.exe (60MB
in size). When running it,
Install anywhere keeps on asking for an install directory.
The wierd thing is that it creates a funny looking directory each
time. What's worse is that is no other feedback.
I'm definitely not impressed as this is supposed to be a
top tier company.

  • AIR installed, but applications fail to detect it (linux, firefox3.5.6, fedora12)

    Hi,
I just installed AIR 1.5.3 successfully, but every time I'm trying to install an AIR application from my firefox window the applications want to re-install AIR and fail. I tried the photoshop.com uploader, the Avatar movie demo, both doing the same thing. The installation appears to start, then a little window comes up saying to install this app you need to instal AIR, I say yes, then it appears to download something then fails with the message "a download error occured, try to download again?"
I'd appreciate any help on this.
    Krisztian

    Sundeep,
    Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I ran the AIR installer as root (sudo). It correctly installed the rpm. I see the files under /opt/Adobe AIR/Versions/1.0.
However after deleting the directories you mentioned I'm still having the same problem. The AIR applications are telling me I need to install AIR.
How do they check if AIR is installed? Do i need to set anything within firefox for them to see that I have AIR?
    Regards,
    Krisztian

  • Installing Desktop Application fails

    Hi,
Interesting web app. Very clean interface. Good functionality.
I tried the "Install Desktop App" link. It prompts that it needs to download Adobe Air and then after the progress bar is done it reports that an error was found while downloading and asks if I'd to retry. Every retry ends the same. Any ideas as to whats up?
For the record I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit and Chrome...

I have a similar problem. Tried most of the things from other posts about this issue.
I have a script and I will be working on it somewhere where I'm not sure I have internet. So I really need the desktop application.
I can't post a screencap of the error I get after trying to install. because it's in dutch and I don't think anybody  would be able to use it
however. it does say error 2032.
I read some information about this error on http://www.judahfrangipane.com/blog/2007/02/15/error-2032-stream-error/
But if I understand it correctly, it's an error on the server itself?
Thnkas in advance for any help.

    Hi there!
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Hopefully that will get things going again.

  • Application failed to start, cvirt.dll not found error

I built an application with installer, including the runtime engine. When this is installed the application fails to run as it appears to be missing cvirt.dll. I am using Labview 7.1 and have never had this problem before. On a platform where the full labview environment is installed the application runs fine.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Marco

    Thanks for the reply Robert.
I have no idea which component requires cvi. I am using GPIB and use the USB through an external dll, which is included in the distribution.
When I manually copied cvirt.dll, cviauto.dll, and cvirte.dll in the system32 folder another error appeared: Can not find RTE directory
When I wrote a simple test program (only a stop button and a loop), it worked fine.
I downloaded a copy of Labview runtime engine and installed that. That did not solve it on my test PC, but did solve it on the PC it was intended for.
My problem seems to be solved for now, but I would like to know if there is a way of preventing this with the application builder.
    Thanks for your help.

  • AIR Applications fail to install (Acer Aspire One, Linux)

I've successfully installed the latest version of AIR for Linux on my Aspire One, although it took a few attempts.
I am, however, not succeeding in installing any apps.
    1. My system believes that .air files are actually ZIP files and offers to unpack them: there seems to be nothing I can point them at to be opened by AIR itself.AIR does not appear in any menus, app lists etc
    2. If I go to a site that offers a "badge" install, the install system correctly recognises that AIR 1.5 is installed (checked box in the installer) and doesn't try to install it again. However, the apps do not install successfully - all fail with an Error #2004 and ask me to try again, which always fails.
I can't seem to find any information whatsoever on this anywhere and I'm a bit surprised. It is surely not impossible to achieve, and I equally don't believe nobody else has had any trouble.
    Suggestions anyone?
    Thanks!
    --Richard E

Right! "rpmbuild" was the answer to installing AIR successfully on this machine.
Assuming that you have somewhat unlocked the machine as described in http://macles.blogspot.com/ and elsewhere, this simplest way of getting rpmbuild installed is to open a terminal and, as root, do "yum install rpm-build" - note the hyphen in the package name. If you aren't subscribed to a suitable repository, you can find it pretty easily with a Google for "fedora8 rpm-build".
With rpm-build in place, AIR installed successfully using "./AdobeAIRInstaller.bin".
".air" applications are now correctly identified as belonging to AIR and badge installs also work.
My intention in doing all this was to get a suitable Twitter etc app running on the machine, so I first tried the current version of Seesmic Desktop. It opened normally and allowed me to enter account details… and lo! it downloaded tweets! Unfortunately I never managed to get it to do that again. A bunch of small authorisation windows opened up, one for each installed account, requiring confirmation of password, and I couldn't enter anything in the field with the main window open. Minimising the main window I could now enter passwords, and OK dismissed the window, but it didn't seem to do any good. I have not seen a tweet since and all the panels in the main window are empty. A pity.
My other favourite Twitter app is Tweetdeck - in fact I think it's superior to Seesmic Desktop if you just run a single Twitter account. Here the main window opens somewhat off-screen and blank (black) with control buttons at the top. Unfortunately although the buttons reveal their tooltips on mouseover, you can't actually access any of them, notably the account setup button. Thus the app is not usable.
Third attempt was Twhirl, also from Seesmic (http://www.twhirl.org/). The version I had previously downloaded, 0.8.6, opened an account setup window but when you entered a password it just sat there. Luckily behind it was a window offering an update. Updating the package installed 0.9.2. This time the account window allowed the entering of an account name and password and duly displayed a window of tweets! And I was also able to write and send tweets successfully. Success! You can enter details for multiple accounts, and each has its own resizable window that contains messages pertaining to the account. Not as useful for me as Tweetdeck or Seesmic Desktop, but entirely usable (Desktop is actually a bit big for this machine's display anyway). However closing and reopening Twhirl I discovered that the application is not remembering passwords even when you tell it to - though it does remember the account names. Although I would like a fully-functioning app (and preferably one or both of the other two) this will do for the time being.
I notice that issues regarding passwords and authorisation are the common factors in these misbehaviours: if anyone can shed any light on this, please let me know.
Thanks to GauravKhurana for the key to solving this issue and the support in discovering it.

  • My i tunes is not working anymore. it says the application failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. I have tried re-installing the program but it doesn't work.

    Hello,
Yesterday I tried to get onto iTunes and was unable to. I keep getting this message:
Itunes.exe - Unable to locate component.
This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
I have tried to uninstall and re-install the program several times but cannot get it to work. Now I get this message:
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.
    Error 7 (Windows error 126)
I have tried to do what I can but am not really iTunes savy and would like to get this issue resolved. Can anyone help me?
    THANK YOU!!

  • HT1926 My itunes won't open because it says "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem" Can someone help? I don't want to delete it altogether due to needing the phone backup

I was given notification to upload the latest version of itunes recently, so I clicked installed. However it has since corrupted my itunes and I get the error message:
"This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem".
In poor timing, I have also accidently damaged my phone and have a new one to restore it to an old back up.
It is because of this I am reluctant to completely delete itunes off my computer and start again for fear of losing my back ups.
Is there another way to fix iTunes so I can open it again?
    Thanks
