Install Application Packages

I'm new to the open source operating system. I want to install some applications on my N800 from the Maemo site. Some applications install fine others say I'm missing required application packages. How do I find and install these missing packages? Thanks.

Where did you get the installer from ? Opera Mobile doesn't seem to be compatible with your Device. Not on the Opera site..

  • MDT Application Package Install - Weird issue.

    Hi Guys,
I've configured Windows 8.1 into MDT 2013 and everything seems to be going smoothly up until I try to stream Office 2013 365 into the image.  I looked into the bdd.log on the machine as it attempts to run it but fails and I'm seeing this -
Using a local or mapped drive, no connection is required. ZTIApplications 2/13/2014 9:20:29 AM 0 (0x0000)

I'm pretty sure I can map Y: to the applications directory and fix this -- but my question is why is everything else pathing correctly to the network path but this install assumes that Y: is where it's stored?  I'm about to recreate it completely to
see if it solves the issue.  It's most definitely failing because Y: is not mapped but it's looking to a mapped Y: path.  MDT is not showing a source directory on the package created.  Same goes for the applications inside of the package being
    installed.  Any ideas?  Thanks.
    Ryan

Some install programs just don't like installing from UNC paths. It sucks. We also need to ensure that we have the correct credentials to connect to the network path.
MDT works around these limitations by taking the UNC path for programs in ZTIApplications, and mapping a drive to the path. This action also uses the credentials to map the drive to the UNC path. Super!
If MDT detects that a UNC path is *ALREAD* bound to a drive letter, it will skip over the step of mapping a new drive letter to the path, and use the path instead.
*THAT'S* why MDT is attempting to use Y:.
What we have not determined here is if Y:\Applications\Microsoft\Office\Microsoft_Office_2013\CTR actually exists when Y is mapped to the path in your applications entry.
Please check again, and then re-check, and if you are unsure, check permissions, and double check again. Then from a client machine map to a share and verify again.
I also can't check what your script is doing. Did it actually run? Do you have any logging in the script. Most likely the script never ran, and the 1 return code is because cmd.exe can't find the script.

  • UNABLE TO INSTALL THE PACKAGED APPLICATIONS (DOCUMENT LIBRARY)

Created new workspace, and downloaded and tried to install Document Library
    from http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/packaged_apps/packaged_apps.html#DOC_LIB .
Installed application just fine, but when Apex attempted to install the
supporting objects, it failed. It hangs for a while and then goes to “page cannot be displayed page” When I click on refresh, and I get an error.
When browse the tables under SQL Workshop, I noticed that none of the objects have been installed for that App.
When i try to run the application, i get the following error.

  • Orchestrator and SCCM 2012 integration: run task sequence and install assigned applications/packages?

    Dear,
We do not have Orchestrator running in our SCCM 2012 R2 environment. Though I wonder if we could accomplish the following scenario with it:
Task sequence Windows 7 => Orchestrator step which queries assigned installations to the computer object and installs them one by one.
    Could you advise?
    Kind regards,
    Stev.
    SteveWonB

    > > Define "assigned to computer objects". How is this done technically?
Well, computer objects are members of collections via AD memberships, like the collection "W7-Google-Chrome" (exists of 100 computer objects).
Deploy of packages is done to these collections. So a computer member of  "W7-Google-Chrome"  will automatically get Google Chrome.
Some computers are member of 30 collections, some of 80.
Goal is to have the task sequence run all applications/packages assigned (with their reboots if needed).
    Kind regards,
    Steven

It looks like you may have extracted the files to C:\sp2013. Can you try installing from a mounted ISO instead? Can you also validate that this is Server 2012 and not 2012 R2?

  • Prerequisiteinstaller.exe error - unable to install Application Server Role, Web Server (IIS) Role

Windows Server 2012 R2 running on Hyper-V VM.  File services, App server & IIS roles installed
    SQL Server 2012 installed
    Tried:
kb 2765260 method 1 which is kb 2771431 which ends with "not applicable to computer"
kb 2765260 method 2 with no effect (this was power shell commands for PC's connected to the internet)
One post suggested "aspnet_regii - enable -i" but my OS doesn't have aspnet_regii on it (not sure what that implies)
One post suggested ServerManagerCmd.exe needed to be installed which sounds true as shown below (but where do I find this exe?)
There are some errors in the log file,  I only included the portions where the errors are listed.  The initial lines are at the top of the log file, then I skipped to the section where the other errors were.  I can include the whole log if
    it becomes necessary.

I'm presuming the first 2 errors are OK and just indicate optional startup modes for prerequisiteinstaller.exe
The 2nd set of errors seems more serious.  I don't see ServerManagerCmd.exe on my PC that's listed in the error
I don't understand the last error which I'm supposing triggered the listed error even though there are other errors in the log.
Many of the existing posts don't match the configuration I'm using, and the ones that do match didn't seem to provide a usable answer.  Any help is appreciated.  Do these problems exist using Sever 2012 Standard?  I will try that, but would
like to resolve the issue here with R2.
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Alan

ServerManagerCMD.exe is a deprecated utility and (as far as I know) is only found on Server 2008 versions, so I'm surprised it's needed for the preinstaller.  Are you trying to install SharePoint 2010?
Running this page through Google Translate should give you an clearer idea on getting this installed.

    Hi hongkongpom,
Just wanted to say that after posting the problem, I had a chat with an iTunes' Tech Support, her name is Rebekah.  My problem was resolved after that.  Will list the chat history below in hopes that it may help you as well.
    Good luck!
    Samia
    Chat Transcript

    Duration: 81 minutes 28 seconds
    Rebekah:
Welcome to AppleCare chat support. Please give me a moment to look over your information.
    Rebekah:
Hi, Samia! My name is Rebekah. If we get disconnected, please chat us back. http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/contactEnter the case number from the initial email we sent you. This gives the next advisor you chat with immediate access to your case history.
    Rebekah:
Could you please confirm your serial number? I want to be sure we provide the best service possible for you, Samia!
    SAMIA:
    Sure, it's 8L8395UY2C5
    SAMIA:
    My problem is with iTunes.
    Rebekah:
Thanks for that confirmation. Just a heads up, this is iOS Tech Support. We do support iPod touches, iPads, and iPhones, but not the iPod classic. But no worries! I can get you in touch with a phone Advisor who can get you in touch with the department that specializes in iPod classics and would be able to better assist you. Would that be OK?
    SAMIA:
I wasn't able to install the new version of iTunes (version 11.1.1). The installation keeps failing. The they suggested the I install it manually and that failed too. I will attach the message I received.
    SAMIA:
    I don't have a problem with iPod.
    SAMIA:
    Just iTunes
    Rebekah:
No problem! We can certainly troubleshoot iTunes as much as possible. It may come to the point that you may have to transferred, but we can do as much as possible during this chat!
    Rebekah:
Thanks for the screenshot. It is a bit small so I am unable to fully see the message that you are receiving. What is the error message you are receiving?
    SAMIA:
This is the message I received in case you weren't able to open the attachment: "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2324."
    Rebekah:
    Thanks for that info!
    SAMIA:
    Pleasure!
    Rebekah:
What version of Windows (XP, Vista, 7) do you have?
    SAMIA:
    Windows 7
    SAMIA:
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    Rebekah:
Thanks for that confirmation. I do apologize for the delay, Samia. I am researching this error code now. You mentioned trying to install iTunes manually. To be sure I am on the same page, what steps did you take to do that?
    SAMIA:
Well when the indsatalltion failed I was given instructions to select Download Only from Tools and then install manually. When I did it, I window popped up with the following items: - AppleApplicationSupport
    SAMIA:
    - AppleMobileDeviceSupport64
    SAMIA:
    - Bonjour64
    SAMIA:
    iTunes64
    SAMIA:
    SetupAdmin
    SAMIA:
I selected Repair in all of them instead of Remove and all worked but iTunes64
    SAMIA:
That's when I received the message that I sent you earlier.
    SAMIA:
By the way, this is the fir st time something like this occured. I never had problems with installation before.
    Rebekah:
I completely understand what you're saying. Since that Repair did not resolve the issue, our best option is to uninstall iTunes and its components and redownload it. To do this, we will follow the steps in this article: Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    Rebekah:
First, we will want to quit iTunes and/or Apple Software Update if those are open at this time.
    SAMIA:
Rebekah, the instructions you gave says, "For Windows XP, follow these steps to remove and reinstall iTunes and other software components for Windows XP."
    SAMIA:
    I closed all applications
    SAMIA:
Also, my iTunes doesn't open anymore after the new failed installation.
    Rebekah:
The section that says "For Windows XP…" is in case we opened up the wrong article, as we have the one for Windows Vista, 7, or 8. There is a link to click ("these steps") in those directions that would take us to the article for uninstalling on a Windows XP.
    Rebekah:
So no worries! We have the right article!
    Rebekah:
On the computer, we will want to click on Start > Control Panel. In Control Panel, we will click the "Uninstall a program" link.
    SAMIA:
I thought so after doing a little exploration.
    SAMIA:
    done
    Rebekah:
Alright, we'll want to select iTunes from the list of currently installed programs. Then we will click Uninstall. When asked if you would like to remove iTunes, let's click Yes.
    Rebekah:
After the uninstallation is complete, we don't want to restart your computer if you're prompted.
    SAMIA:
    Done
    Rebekah:
Then if you see other iTunes entries on the list, we'll want to remove them the same way.
    Rebekah:
Then we will remove all instances of Apple Software Update the same way you removed iTunes.
    SAMIA:
Okay, but do I have to remoce iCloud as well?
    SAMIA:
Rebekah, I received the same error message again when uninstalling
    Rebekah:
We actually do not need to remove iCloud. After the Apple Software Update, we will want to remove all instances of Apple Mobile Device Support
    Rebekah:
How strange! Are you able to click past that and allow the process to continue or has it stopped it completely?
    SAMIA:
I am unable to uninstall iTunes either
    SAMIA:
    Stopped completely
    SAMIA:
    I treied clicking Repair
    Rebekah:
Alright, after trying the Repair option, let's see if it will allow us to continue uninstalling or not.
    SAMIA:
I tried that but unfortunately, it isn't working. I still get that same message with error code 2324.
    Rebekah:
This error code is not something that I am finding in my sources, Samia. So there is a chance that it is being caused with the Windows computer itself. However, I did find a link that may be able to help with uninstalling iTunes from Windows' support site: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
    SAMIA:
Rebekah, you're a genius! It worked! iTunes is no longer there. What next?
    Rebekah:
    Awesome! I'm glad that worked!
    Rebekah:
To be sure I am on the same page, what was the last component we uninstalled?
    SAMIA:
    iTunes
    SAMIA:
Shall I remove the Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update
    Rebekah:
That is correct! However, we do want to uninstall it in the order I mentioned above. So Apple Software Update first, Apple Mobile Device Support next, and then Apple Mobile Device Support.
    SAMIA:
Got it, but is the second one to uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support OR Apple pplication Support?
    Rebekah:
The second one is Apple Mobile Device Support.
    Rebekah:
The Application Support will be the last component we uninstall.
    SAMIA:
    Thanks! I'm on it.
    SAMIA:
Done! ll 3 are gone, well 4 with iTunes. Now what?
    Rebekah:
Awesome! Also, I just noticed that I accidentally typed Apple Mobile Device Support twice, I do apologize for any confusion! Now we will remove all instances of Bonjour and then remove all instances of Apple Application Support.
    SAMIA:
There was only 1 instance with Bonjour. I don't know what the instances are for Apple Application Support
    Rebekah:
Yes, Bonjour is often only listed once. Is the Apple Application Support listed at all?
    SAMIA:
    No
    SAMIA:
    Since I removed it
    Rebekah:
Oh, perfect! If it was removed, we should be set!
    Rebekah:
We have removed iTunes and its components now! From here, our next step is to restart the computer. Then once you reboot, you can redownload iTunes from apple.com/itunes
    Rebekah:
That should allow you to download iTunes!
    SAMIA:
Shall I downloaad the latest vesion?
    Rebekah:
You will want to first restart the computer as shown in the article. That will ensure that this process goes smoothly and that everything was removed correctly! Then you can try downloading iTunes again.
    SAMIA:
    Okay, thanks Rebekah!
    Rebekah:
You're very welcome! I'm glad I could help! And of course if you have any issue after the reboot and download, you can always chat us back, as chat is open 24 hours! You will just need to give your case number and the next Advisor would have all my notes!
    SAMIA:
Thanks again for all your help, for I couldn't have managed with out it. Have a nice day!
    Rebekah:
You're very welcome! I know how important iTunes is and I'm glad we could get you on a path to resolution!
    Rebekah:
I hope you have a lovely day!
    Rebekah:
It's been a pleasure speaking with you! Thanks for chatting with us Samia. If you don't have any more questions, select End Chat from the upper left corner of the chat window.
    SAMIA:
    Will do, thanks.

Please help!!!  I am going on 9 days now trying to install SharePoint 2013 onto a VM.  I have tried Hyper-V and VMWare and am getting the same result with both.
Running Windows 8.1  with 16 GBs of RAM.
The pre-req installer will not install anything!!  And I get this error:
The tool was unable to install Application
Server Role, Web Server (IIS) Role
So I installed the Web Server IIS Role and restart...   still no luck
    Then I ran this command:
    C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis.exe -i -enable
And get this message: "This option is not supported on this version of the operating system. Admins should instead install/uninstall ASP.NET 4.5 with IIS8 using the "Turn Windows Features On/Off dialog....
9 days of cussing and pulling my hair out...  please someone help..  I just want to run the Pre-Req installer and install SharePoint on a VM Machine.
Any help would be appreciated!!  Thanks in advance!
I just want to confirm that I'm facing exactly the same problem.
Currently, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 is not supported for installation on computers running the Windows Server 2012 R2 operating
    system.

  • How to install/add packages to org.apache

    hi everyone!
i'm pretty new with Java and i wanted to know how to install a package i downloaded from "http://www.apache.org/dist/jakarta/". the package name is poi and i have no clue how to do it so i'll be able to import some classes from it in my code... (i tried to just paste it the file src.zip at the location org/apache but it didn't worked)
    thanks for you help,
    shimon ;)

"install" isn't really the right word. You'll have to learn to think differently about JARs in Java. because you don't "install" them and your apps don't get access to them via the operating system. They're more like dynamic link libraries or DLLs in Windows parlance.
What you should do is figure out what a standard directory structure for all your applications will be, maybe something like this:
    application
    +
+------source (put your .java source files in their package structure under here)
+------lib (put your 3rd party JAF files under here)
+------classes (compile your .class files to this directory)
So in this case you'd put the POI JAR under /lib for your project. Tell Eclipse that /source is where it should expect to find all the .java file, that /class is the output directory for all compilations. Right click on the project folder, select "Properties", and add all the JARs to the build class path. Then you'll be all set with Eclipse.
Tell Eclipse that application is the root of your project. Tell

  • Problem installing a package from AUR

I'm not expecting anyone to install this package just to try and answer my question but,,
    I have /home on a 10 gig space ext3 and it's only 2% full.
When I try and install doom3-phantasm, the package downloads, builds and when it's time to install a window says not enough space to install.
No way this single game is over 9.5 gigs.
I'm not even seeing where it's trying to install to.
Is this a problem with the package build or am I not seeing something?

I wrote the pkgbuild, so I've got it installed
    $ pacman -Ql doom3-phantasm

  • Owner of installed applications

I'm not very happy with the owner (user and group) of applications installed in /Applications.
Apps that "belong" to OS X are owned by root:wheel, and so are apps installed via the App Store. In contrast, apps installed via Drag&Drop are simply owned by my user account and the admin group.
As a consequence, apps that fall in the former category can only be removed by providing the admin password or by using Launchpad.
Apps that belong to user:admin might be modified by other apps, which could be a security risk, espescially if they might request admin privileges at some point.
The easiest way to work around this issue might be to run "sudo chown -R root:wheel" on every app that was installed "by hand". Might I run into trouble by doing so? (I hope there aren't to many apps that require write access to their own installation folder).
Is there an easier way? It would be great if one could use the app store to also install non-appstore-apps, but I guess this is not possible...

Well, one thing I don't like is the inconsistency between apps installed manually and apps installed via the app store. I admit that this is primarily a cosmetic issue, but nonetheless, it annoys me.
But having applications that are writable by the current user could theoretically also lead to a privilege escalation. For example, I recently installed MacTeX, which also places various apps and stuff in /Applications. There's one program that can be used to update the installed TeX packages, but to be able to do this, it will have to prompt for admin rights. If this program could be overwritten/modified by an attacker (say, some shellcode executed in your browser), one would elevate the Malware to run with admin privileges.
Of course it is unlikely that someone actually tries to exploit such an attack vector, but still I think this is some sort of design weakness in OS X. It almost seems as if Apple agrees, as apps installed from the App Store aren't affected by this problem

  • CC 2014-Application Package Required components -Font Minion-Pro

I noticed that in the new CC 2014 that Several fonts are set as required components in the application package.
Example Minion-Pro is installed in the application. Minion is a common font that I would want to make sure I am using the licensed one I have to use.
What Fonts can you safely remove from the required components fonts folder with out messing up the CC program.

Yes I understand the "Required Components" but just like the mac OS not all the fonts installed in the system folder are actually needed you can remove some of them that are not actually needed by the program.
When you are trying to deal with font management on machines and between people having a font like Minion Pro as a required font is not helping dealing with real font management.
Font management is crucial in a production environment.

  • HT1338 i reinstall my macbook pro after i try to install application software but i am getting error during installation.

i reinstall mac os through mac dvd after completing installation  i try to install application through application dvd but its showing error during installation. IPhoto,IDVD ,etc all these software i need to install but getting problem. Please resolve my problem.I checked my hardware test i passed .

    Hi,
Try cleaning the DVD and try again. It could be that you have a bad disc.
Open the "Console" application. "Applications -> Utilities" are there any diagnostic messages or error logs, crash reports in the Console window? If a program crashes during the installation, post the error message. The first fifty lines of the crash log should suffice.
I'm guessing that it could be that certificate expired so the installer package is no longer trusted. You can try setting the date on your Mac back to around the date you bought it and try the installation again. I hope this helps. If not and you may need to request a new DVD.
Let me know how it goes.
