Go back and review the responses in your very first forum post, from a month earlier:
solaris root password & installer
It may also be time for you to go get some books on Solaris.
If you cannot afford actual books at the present time, Oracle has a great deal of Solaris documentation that you can download.
See here (for example):

  • Applications and user accounts

Hey I have an iMac with Leopard and I have the administrator account and there are 2 other standard accounts. When I install new applications, such as Microsoft Office for Mac, it is only available in my admin account. To get it to work i have to drag the file to the shared file, which is a pain and it screws with my organization. got any ideas?

Then something's hosed with those accounts if you installed the applications properly. See http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8226.html for details. Normally, unless you've stipulated otherwise, all applications should install into /Applicatiions and be available for all users.

Did you download the correct driver and appllication?
Check that you have the following files.
    . Driver - Drv_nm2.exe
    2. MediaSource application - CMS_PCAPP_LB_2_03_29.exe
    3. Nomad Pack - CMS_N2Plugins__00_0.exe
Do not connect the player when installing the driver. You will be prompted to connect the player when the installation is near to completion.
After which, install the MediaSource application follow by the Nomad Pack.

Check if you have the latest Firmware on your Phone. You may do that thru' Nokia Suite . If any update is available do that, else you may re-install (refer the attachment) the existing firmware and see if the problem gets resolved.
If no change the you need to get the Firmware flashed at Nokia Care

  • Installing applications and/or software

    I'm new to Mac.
When I install some software or downloads I get a dialog box that says "select an application to copy to" or something like that. Nothing that I select works to accept the downoad or program. What do I do next?

Hi and Welcome to Apple Discussions!
New to Mac? Well, if you are used to the Windows operating system then this link is a great user guide for "switching" from Windows to the Mac OS:
    http://www.apple.com/support/switch101/
When you download software, are you talking about 3rd party software, meaning non-Apple? If you could post the url here so we can see which software you are referring to that would help.

Anyone had trouble loading Jeopardy HD App?  Mine loaded upside down.  Tried everything, re-starting, re--loading, all to no avail.  Have to turn screen upside down to play.

The App Store is scanning the Mac and finding purchased apps in the Applications folder. It then checks against the list and finds that they are old versions and prompts for an update.
All that is required to install an app is a Apple ID and admin rights on the target mac. The apps she is installing are wrapped in DRM which identify her as the owner, but the App Store doesn't care, as she is entitled to install them on your Mac. But it reads her ID from the wrapper and thus prompts for her password to do the update.
I'd personally suggest that just one of you has admin rights and does all the purchasing off the App Store. You could remove all her apps from the mac, but you'd then need to purchase them again to consolidate them into your ID.
Or you could just get her to do the updates!

  • Installing applications and changing parental controls

I have added 2 new programs to my client computers thru ARD with no problems, but would like to know how to set up parental controls for them. Currently when you click on each program I get a message saying that I need to modify the parental controls to +*Never Allow, Always Allow or Allow Once*+. I would like to chnege the access to Always allow from ARD and enable the command to *Modify the Dock* as well
Is there a Unix command for this?

You can copy and paste the settings in the PC pref pane in System Preferences. Make sure remote management is enabled on each machine. Control click on one in System Preferences (from the Admin Mac) and paste into each of the other machines.
Alternatively, you can do it with some UNIX commands:
It can be done using MCX settings. First (make sure all machines are logged out), configure ONE of the accounts with the proper parental controls. Than, in Terminal, use this command:
    dscl . -mcxexport /Users/user1 > /path/to/file
*path to file is the path to the file you want to save the settings to. the file will be created. replace user1 with proper username
Now, copy that file to all the other computers to the same location (using ARD).
In ARD, run this command on the machine:
    dscl . -mcximport /Users/user2 /path/to/file
*replace user2 with proper username. run as the user root
Now, make sure to delete that file off the machines. Login on a machine. The settings should be applied.

  • Installation and deployment of operating system, applications and patches in Unix environment

Is it possible to use Configuration Manager 2012 (or 2012 R2) to perform remote installation of operating system, applications and patching in a Unix environment?
    Balaji Kundalam

ConfigMgr does not support Operating System Deployment for non-Windows OS flavors.
You can use the ConfigMgr client on a Unix device to install applications and to instruct the device to install patches. Basically, the client will download files and run a script against them.  If there is a patch manager in your flavor of *nix, you
can run a script to install the patches.
See the supported operating systems here:

  • Sql query obitype and sys acct

Does B1 assign "obitype" and "sys account" _sysxxxxxxxxxx automatically?  What does each mean and feature?

    Dear Lily,
The objtype is an id representation of each document type used in SBO.
    Eg.
13 - AR Invoice related document
    203 - AR Downpayment Invoice
    14 - AR Credit Memo
18 - AP Invoice related document
and so on... you should be able to find a document called "How to Interpret Transaction Type Abbrieviations" from the SAP portal documentation page.
The account code SYS_0000XXXXXX you find the in the JDT table is also a representation id for the various accounts in your Chart of Accounts. This format of account id is used, ecause the Chart of Accounts used in your company database is of type 'Account Segmentation'. To find the relevant Account Code (as defined in your Chart of Accounts) for this segementation id SYS_0000XXXXXX, link this value to the 'Code' column of the OACT table.
    Hope it helps.

  • My TaskSequence aborts prior to installing applications

Hi guys, so I've been using a task sequence that lets the user pick and install applications from a list.
For halv a year now without any issues.
a few days ago I upgraded the server from SP1 to R2, I thought that everything was now set as it was suppose to..
but apperently its not. Cause my task sequence aborts.
Right after installing drivers, it restarts then goes to windows.. it leaves this folder behind
C:\_SMSTasksequence  - filled with stuff in it. furthermore no applications are installed.
I googled the folder cause I had never seen it before and its clear this is still here because the task sequence aborts unexpectedly
As the task sequence is completely identical to the one before I upgraded to R2, I don't understand whats wrong.
Hoping you can help me decode the log so I can start looking at what issues there might be, here is the
SMSTLOG, site wouldn't take its size so had to move it to pastebin
    SMSTS Log
    I see it at one point writes '<![LOG[BaseVar = '', ContinueOnError='']LOG]!><time="16:57:54.380-120" date="05-27-2014" component="InstallSoftware" context="" type="1" thread="1908" file="main.cpp:319">'

Whats really weird about these 2 applications is, that they aren't deployed to the variable..
They are however deployed to the collection the device is placed in.
I need a place to start... cause the logs dont help me much at this point.

hi Peter and thx for the answer.
are you refering to main.cpp:319 ?  I see you are right it does have three digits there.
First I wanna say I'm sure you are right its somewhere here the problem lies. My UDI Wizard that I use to Display applications on a list, got updated aswell and I had to redo settings.
    I wanna point out again
This task sequence I'm about to show did work prior to the Update from SP1 to R2..
    Convert List to two digits:
I already have a step thats suppose to convert to, two digit numbers in my TaskSequence. Anyways here is my step, do you see any problems with that?
    Install Application
And here is the step where I set a variable for installing applications, in UDI Wizard I use the same variable, to display and select from a list of 15-17 apps.
    UDI Wizard
And here to show you what COALSCEDAPPS is pointing too.
(This I had to rename, it had 'APPLICATIONS' set as variable after the update)
I did however try both without luck
