Install Audition 2.0

I am trying to install Audition 2.0 on my new computer after the old one died. I receive the "activation server unavailable" notice. I followed the phone and wesite prompts - but with no luck. Help?

Adobe has decommissioned the activation server for old software and provided links to non-activation versions.
You'll now have to download a fresh, non-activation copy of Audition 3

Install then use the new serial number provided on that page to license it. Don't try using your existing serial number.

  • Unable to install Audition 3.0 on Windows 7.

I have been trying to install Audition 3.0 on my Windows 7 computer with no luck. It unpacks all of the files and then asks what language I want the installer to us. When I click on English that box disappears and another box appears on the screen for about half-a-second, too fast to read, and the computer just sits there.
I've read all of the messages about similar problems on this board and the suggestions offered are all things I've tried with no success.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
the BootCamp Drivers 3.0 are on the OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard Install DVD.
Since your signature states "OSX 10.6.4" I assume that you have such one 'lying around'.
Just insert the DVD while in WIndows and the Driver setup should start automatically.
The 3.1 Driver download is indeed an update only and only works when the 3.0 Drivers are already installed.

How could I get my software working at 100%?
    Thank you!!!

Audition launches but with a warning:  The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic library link library. C;\ ..\.....7.0\MediaFoundation.dll
I don't need burning to CD's anymore thank goodness ;-)  So as long as everything else is still OK I can return to work.

  • How can I install audition at work?

I have downloaded the trial version of audition at my home.  Unfortunately, with the birth of my child, I have VERY little time to experiment with it and even when I do, I am usually too wiped out to do so.
The only other option I have is during my lunchbreak at work.   If I tried installing it at work, a screen would pop up asking for the administrator's permission.  We have a policy at work that says we cannot install anything at work for fear of viruses.  I know AA doesn't have any viruses and I just want to use it during my lunchbreak.  I took all of the files from my AA home (after installed) and put them on an external hard drive and brought them to work and transferred them over.  Unfortunately when I click on the application icon, and error comes up:
    Error 6
please uninstall and reinstall the product.
I'm testing AA to see if I want to buy it or not, but my time is running out.
I'd appreciate any help that would help me use it at work. thanks.

Hi I can explain this as I administer a corporate domain infrastructure. Your systems admin's will use Group policy to block the installation of software for 2 key reasons. 1 As you said to do with viruses, but more so to control the installation & distribution of software, this is so that your company can make sure it is licensed for all the packages it runs & more importantly stop the installation of pirate software (and time wasting stuff). Depending on how "nice" your IT crew are then they may install it for you, but I have to say that unless you can prove it's for work then there is little chance.......
Not sure what you mean by the "Took all of the files from my AA home (after installed) and put them on an external hard drive and brought them to work and transferred them over"? is that the session files or a copy of the Program file? Basically depending on how your systems admin's have configured the Group policy you may not be permitted to write to sectors of the C Drive and this would stop you being able to do anything.
Hard to be exact as I don't know how your work network is set up, but unless you get your admins on board then there is little chance that you will get it to run.
    Hope it helps.

Thank you for your helpful note. Can you explain more fully how you managed to get Audiiton 1.0 to work on Windows 7 64 bit operating system? I am not very computer literate. Do all of the features of Audition 1.0 work on your Windows 7 64 bit system?
    I really appreciate your reply.

    Hi!
Installation configuration depends on what you need: the only mandatory component is Server, other 2 are optional.

  • Can't install Audition 3

    Hi, there.
I downloaded Free trial of Audition 3.
However whenever I try to install, it fails.
My pc is win xp sp3. and other hardwares are good shape.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks.

In that case probably your best bet is to phone Adobe customer support.  The one thing they offer free support for is installation issues and this certainly qualifies.
My uneducated guess is that something when wrong on your first download/install but it managed to leave a record on your PC that you've already used your free trial.  If my guess turns out to be accurate then Adobe are the only ones that can help you.

  • How can I deactivate one computer, so I can install Audition CC on another computer?

Not knowing I had to 'deactivate' Audition CC from one computer to put it on another one, I deleted all the Audition CC files from this computer before deactivating it.  Do I need to re-install before I can deactivate?
    Thanks.
    KW

If contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone they can help with deactivating the uninstalled application.
Here is a link to a page with options to help make contact:

You are allowed to have activated installations on two machines, so you did not have to dectivate on the other machine if that is the only one you had installed the software on.

  • Install Audition 3 on new windows 8.1system

I have a new computer running windows 8.1 and I want to install my licensed version of Audition 3.0. When I go to My Orders page the download link says there are no downloads. I take this to mean I can no longer have a program I paid $350 for. I feel this is a serious rip-off job. Please advise me if I am wrong. Thank you.

  • Install audition in two HD?

Hi! After nearly ten years with my old PC I'm considering to buy a new one and wanted to know if it stills makes sence for the perfomence of Adobe to install te primerary and the secondary temp-file in two diferent hard discs (with CEP this was a frequent recomendation), or won'tI see any diference installing Adobe in one or two hd? Thanks!

Steve what about your audio files?
I know at one time with Audition 1.5 the setup called for a HDD for the OS, HDD for Audio, HDD for temp files.
Now with Audition 3.0, I sort of assumed that the HDD for the temp files was no longer needed.
Is the optimal setup to still have 3 disks or did I miss something?
By the way I finally got around to buying a 10k Velociraptor for my Audio drive the other day and all my GUI visual problems with scrolling and zooming are no longer!

I bought Audition 3.0 a few years ago.

The 30 days has elapsed and now I can't register it.
Audition is no longer supported, so they gave me a link to download the program.
I've downloaded it, but don't know what to do from here.
    Please help.

  • Trouble installing Adobe Audition 2.0

I am trying to install Adobe Audition 2.0 on a computer it was once installed on.  I am receiving an error message saying Activation unsuccessful because Activation server is not available at this time.
It gives me a phone number to call.
A recording tells me support is no longer available by telephone and to go to website with question.
I am here, seeking advice as to how to install this program.

You are encountering an issue that applies to most of the CS2 and earlier versions of Adobe products.  If you don't mind moving up one version you should be able to acquire and install Audition 3 in place of the version you have.  I believe your version qualifies you for this - someone else had the same problem this past week and they were successful getting version 3 as a replacement.  Just follow the instructions on the following page:

  • Can Audition 2.0 be uninstalled after Audition 3.0 installed?

I had upgraded from Audition 2.0 to Audition 3.0 a couple of years ago, but I notice that Audition 2.0 is still installed on my machine.  When I installed Audition 3.0 I assumed it would override/replace/upgrade Audition 2.0 and not install another version of Audition.  Audition 2.0 takes up a lot of disk space and I'd like to uninstall it.  If I uninstall Audition 2.0 will it have any adverse affect on my Audition 3.0 installation?  Thanks in advance!

    you can uninstall audition 2.
with all adobe upgrades, you do NOT need the older version to be installed in order to install, active or use the newer version.
but, with all upgrades, if the older version is not installed when you install the newer version you will be prompted for the serial number of the older version. if you do not have the serial number for the older version, you will not be able to activate the newer version.
so, maintain a record of your older product serial numbers.
if you lost your older version's serial and it's still installed, you can recover the serial:  http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html

  • Problems installing Adobe Audition

Has anyone else had trouble installing Audition from the provided downloads??  My installer starts, asks for language.. English, but then disapears.  No further prompts and the wizard never launches.
I've been able to install the other programs short of After Effects and Encore which still have not been provided but can not get this installer to run.  Is there something I am missing?
    Thanks!

    JenniMax1215,
I have just tried to install Audition 3.0 on a new machine which is running Windows 7 64-bit. I have just upgraded a production machine which was running Windows XP where all was sweet and rosy....
Anyway, my experience was *exactly* the same as yours, i.e. I had to dig into the install directory to find something that would run (components.exe) and I too experienced the write to memory error! It also 'completed' the install but I was suspicious. Needless to say, when I try to run it and the splash screen comes up, it is quickly followed by the 'couldn't find a supported audio device' which is mentioned quite often in Audition land. I am not sure if this is down to the funny memory error upon installation, or whether it's a 64 bit driver - 32 bit software type of thing. I can't uninstall it either which makes it hard to repeat the experiment....
I've been trying to avoid upgrading, purely for reasons of operator familiarity with version 3.0, but the more I read, the more flaky the combo of Win7/64 and AA 3.0 appears to be.
I was amazed to read that you experienced exactly the same behaviour when you tried to install on Win8 - so I am curious, did it work when you tried to run it?
(the trial of Audition CS6 runs fine, so I know I do have an 'out')
    Thanks.
