Install Blackberry Link without network options

How do we install Blackberry Link without the automatic network adapters. I only use USB cable to connect to my device from Win7 Pro. I removed Blackberry Link for the time being as it seemingly slows down VPN's I use for business. I don't need to use the wireless connection features to sync with my computer and don't want to. When I uninstall BlackBerry link and all of the Blackberry network adapters and features are removed, then VPN connections run smoothly (Cisco Mobility, SonicWall, SafeGuard VPN). Else they're choppy. I don't want to diagnose, I just want Blackberry Link or Blackberry Desktop software that will function only with USB, only when I connect my device to my computer, without all the overhead of features I don't need installed as I don't use them.

Inxsible wrote:
No. it does not. No Arch installation would give you a desktop by default. It seems that you need to read more about Arch and its philosophy. You can however master your own ISO, if you are willing to go that route.
You might want to give some other distros a try. Maybe Debian or Ubuntu, or even Slackware which provides everything on a single CD or DVD.
I know Arch, but usually I install Arch with a NetInstall and I execute this command
pacman -S xfwm4 xfce4-panel xfdesktop thunar xfce4-session xfce4-settings xfce4-appfinder xfce-utils xfconf
but this proccess is very slow and I thought that with core image that would be different.
Then I need a network connection....

  • Cannot install Blackberry Link

    I just purchased a Z10.
I am running Windows 7 on my laptop and cannot get Blackberry Link to install.  I get Error 1920.  I turned off all firewalls and security and I am logged in as Administrator.  I called Blackberry Support number, and they told me it was a Microsoft issue and I would need to contact Microsoft.  Microsoft will charge me for the support call,so I am looking for any other information about this.
I like this phone, but may take it back if I cannot get it to install as I have been unable to get all my contacts to transfer from my droid phone.
    Any suggestions?

  • Cannot install BlackBerry Link on a Windows 7 notebook

I have been attempting to install BlackBerry Link (101_b015_multilanguage.exe) on a Windows 7 notebook and getting the following error message: "The wizard was interrupted before BlackBerry Link could be completely installed." However, I did nothing to interrupt the installation. Did not press "X" on any of the Windows. Only pressed “Yes” or "Next" when prompted.
My troubleshooting has been extensive. This is what I have tried:
Re-downloading the file in case it was corrupt.
    Rebooting.
Performing a Disk Cleanup of Temporary Files and emptying the Recycle Bin.
    Deleting all files in C:\. . .\AppData\Local\Temp.
    Uninstalling BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
Opening "101_b015_multilanguage.exe" with WinRAR, extracting the files to a folder, and running “setup.exe” as administrator.
    Disabling the Firewall and Anti-virus
Deselecting all Services (other than Microsoft services) and all Startup items in System Configuration.
Disconnecting anything connected to the USB ports.
Every time the installation came to a point in which the following message appeared "Rolling back action" and the installation failed. The rolling back action always begins after "Starting services.”
    Please help.

I have this exact same problem, and I have ran the exact same troubleshooting steps as TimLaLonde. The only difference is I am on 64bit Windows 8. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Can't install Blackberry Link in window XP

Hi all, when I install Blackberry Link in window XP, error prompts up
    "Error signature
     AppName: peermanager.exe   AppVer: 1.1.0.14   ModName: msvcr100.dll
     ModVer: 10.0.40219.1                Offset: 0008d6fd"
Already tried different methods, applied window updates, installed MS Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package, installed MS .NET Framework 4.0 Client..., etc, still prompts up error. Can anyone help me??

    I have some questions...
How much RAM in the computer?
    Type of CPU?
    Amount of available disk space?
Check out the minimum PC requirements for Link.
    Try this:
Open Windows Explorer with the Win - E -    keys at the same time. Or open Win Explorer as you normally do. Left mouse click on Drive C. Select and go to Properties. Run Disk Cleanup.  When it is finished clear the cache.
    Then select Tools.
Select Error Checking or Check Disk. Put the check mark on Automatically Fix File System Errors.  Re-start the computer.  On the next startup, Checkdisk will do its work.
Now see if the Link will install.  If it does not install, there may be something the blackberry tech support can help you with.

  • Solution for installing Blackberry apps without internet access

Have the 8330 which has bluetooth but not WiFi.  Just read and article at: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-apps-f35/howto-install-apps-without-bis-57032/    I write to inquire if any knowledgeable  members have read this and is this a plausible solution.
I would like to try it but the script but I find that one must replace the app name with the name of the one of interest.  In this case I am interested in the audible.com audiobook player.  My first question would be "How does one know the precise app name that would work...  there could be many variations.  Hoping for a short dialog with someone that can comment on such things.

  • Satellite L755-16L - Installing new Win7 without recovery option

    Hi...
    I have a Toshiba Satellite L755-16L.
I want to re-install windows 7 ,but the recovery option will erase everything....I dont want to use that ,I saw an activation key at bottom of the laptop for win 7 saying it is oa mea ??
So is there any way I could do that without erasing everything.

    Hi
    Please check http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm
There you can find all info about HDD recovery installation and exact info what will be deleted exactly (check Note).
Product key at the bottom means that you have bought notebook with preinstalled OS and valid licence. This key belongs to preinstalled OS version. Dont think you can use it for OS activation if you try to install own OS version using Microsoft installation disc.
    > So is there any way I could do that without erasing everything.
I dont know what do you mean under everything.
If you want to have clean preinstalled OS again best option for you is to back-up all important data to external device and after OS installation you can copy all this stuff back to notebooks HDD.

  • Blackberry Link will not install on Windows 8 (64bit) Laptop

    Hi,
I'm trying to install Blackberry Link onto my laptop which runs Windows 8 (64bit) but with no success.
From the Blackberry.com website I download the file "100_b075_multilanguage" (have tried both hitting 'run' and saving it then hitting 'run').
After a pop-up window titled "configuring installshield" that contains a progress bar (which does not progress) another pop-up window titled "Windows Installer" appears.
The first line of this new pop-up window says "Windows Installer V 5.0.9200 16384".
The second line says "msiexec /Option <Required Parameter> [Optional Parameter]".
There is then a load of text showing Install Options / Display Options but no means of selecting any of these options.
At the bottom is an OK button and when I press this the process stops and throws me back to the laptop's windows home screen.
Things I've tried without success: -
    Disable anti-virus
Amend User Account Control setting (UAC) to 'never notify'
    Restart laptop in 'safe mode'
Reinstall Windows 8 from built-in recovery partition
Would appreciate any help / suggestions as to how to fix this and get Blackberry Link installed.
    Thanks, Dave.

  • Blackberry link will not load.

Hi there shortly after my attempt to install  blackberry  link the program crashes. I am then forced to close the Install wizard down. Also for the life of me I can't easily find a customer service e-mail address that I can write a good old fationed email to a customer service rep. WTF!!! This is not some mom and pop small business selling phones!!

    Hey duraglas,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question and providing so much detail. The install wizard is using Windows installer program and MsiExec.exe appears to be crashing. Since this is a component of Windows installer not functioning correctly, please contact Microsoft to further advise on next steps. In the meantime, if possible try installing and using the BlackBerry Link application on another computer.
Let us know if you have any additional questions,
    Cheers,

  • Can't upgrade or clean install new Blackberry Link in Win 8 32 bit system

    Hi Helpers,
I cant install the New BB Link version on my system - (the previous version ran perfectly).
Whether I try to update or clean install (old version now uninstalled). I get a pane saying that Microsoft visual C ++ 2008 Sp1 redistributable - W8  needs to be installed first.
The process starts that install - but alwayys fails.  After that the BB Link install just closes.
I can't seem to attach any screenshots (be helpful to be able to 'navigate' to them rather than type in a path).  But I havepasted below the full txt contained in the 'windows installer' pane that appears when the install fails.
Can anyone suggest any way to correct this problem please?  Btw, the new BB Link installs perfectly onto Windows 7.
Thanks in anticipation.  (On trying to post, I was informed that some invalid HTML has been removed - presumably that was in the 'paste' but I've no idea what it was or whether it affects anything, sorry).
    Regards, gil69.
