  • Boot Camp: Driver Update (Windows Vista SP1)

    I'm running a dual boot MBP Unibody w/ OS X & Vista SP1 64Bit
I don't like to install Boot Camp in the Windows OS due to the fact that updating drivers can be a pain when installed via boot camp. However, since I've done so, I've lost the functionality of some of the hardware.
If anyone can point me to a place where I could find drivers for the following I would greatly appreciate it. If I dont get a response, I will attempt to manually extract the drivers from the OS X Install CD.
    Drivers Needed:
Express Card 34 Slot (The Drivers needed to get the slot to work, regardless of card)
Apple I Sight Built in Camera
    IR Receiver
    Trackpad
    System Specs:
    17" MBP Unibody
    Windows Vista SP1 64Bit
    2.93 / 4GB / 9600M GT
Sonnet Tempo eSata Express/34 Card (Rev. A) (I have the drivers for this, but the card isnt recognized when placed in the MBP)

you must run system 1 dvd where bootcamp is, open folders and there choose driver/64bit ..
no choose witch one you like and install with right-click as problem or something like this.
you take working with vista sp1 before and so on ..
i run 64bit win7 rc1 with all drivers exept isight.

  • Unable to install Boot Camp Drivers for Windows

Mac Pro (2) 3.2 Xeon quads
    Mac OS 10.5.2
Boot Camp side - Windows XP pro x64 w/SP2
Step 3 listed in the instructions for setting up Boot Camp is to Install the Boot Camp drivers for Windows. At this point Windows recognizes my Mac Install disk 1. I get the following message: "the installer encountered errors before Boot Camp could be configured. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again." I am not sure if I needed to do something to install the Service Pack 2? My firmware is at MP31.006C.B02 and 1.25f4. When I checked for the latest firmware, it returned a message that it was not necessary.
Maybe the XP pro x64 is not compatible?

I did install windows xp sp2 32 bit on my macbook pro 2.2 GB and I'm getting the same ...
When trying to install boot camp drivers, a message came up saying:
Boot Camp requires that your computer is running Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista.
The only option it gave me was to click the "OK" button. When I clicked OK , another message came up saying:
Boot Camp Installer completed. The install encountered errors before Boot Camp could be configured. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again. Click "finish" to exit installer. I am running a brand new full retail version of windows xp service pack 2. Applecare will not help blaming Microsoft and of course Microsoft is blaming Apple. What a bunch of useless crap!! Can anyone help??

  • Can someone help me install Boot Camp drivers to Windows 8?

Hey guys, I just installed windows 8 32 bit developer preview on my mac via boot camp. im not very familiar with exactly how boot camp drivers work, so i need a little help. First i will tell you what i have done.
    1. installed win 8.
    2. tried to run the boot camp 3.3.exe in windows 8. I used the troubleshoot compatibility option but an error camp up saying boot camp was already installed.
    3. then i rebooted holding the option key so to boot up in osx. i then extracted the bootcamp 3.3 files to a flash drive.
    4. after booting back to windows, i tried doing the compatitbility settings again with each individual file within the bootcamp 3.3 files. an error popped up saying something like "check to see if your hardware needs 32 bit or 64 bit version of this software." (i dont remember the exact wording)
i did some googling but i figured that i could get professional help from you guys.
I am going to classes all day so please be patient, because i wont be able to check this until later this afternoon.
help is very much appreciated. thanks in advance.
    kpasa.

    you need boot camp 3.0.x first before later versions can be installed;
    Or,
I don't know what currently Boot Camp Assistant in 10.6.8 will also do a download of drivers.
But other than change Properites and try setting "use Windows 7 mode" and such, I think you are left high and dry with whatever is in 8.
And I use 8 on two of three systems. I left my Mac Pro @ Windows 7 for now but I much prefer Windows 8, yes.
I would not have chosen or gone with any 32-bit version. As long as you have 3GB RAM or more, forget it. Use 64-bit.
I have not seen or rather read any "success" stories with 8 and Apple drivers though.

  • HT3777 How to install Boot Camp on 32bit Windows 8 on a 2011 MacBook Pro?

I used Boot Camp to install Windows 8 Consumer Preview as the 2nd OS on my 2011 MacBook Pro. However after the installation I cannot install the additional Boot Camp just the drivers for webcam/wifi/ethernet/cardreader/display/chipset etc.
But I would like to be able to use the function keys to adjust the brightness and volume like on a normal laptop without having to go through settings.
    Anyone know how?

You need to install the Boot Camp Windows Support Software, but I have no idea which version of OSX you have so, if 10.6.x the software is on the OSX install disk, likewise for 10.5.x, if you are running 10.7.x (lion) it is a download from the Boot Camp Assistant.

  • Installed Boot Camp drivers for Windows 7, now black screen!

I have a question--I have a late 2009 iMac with the ATI card, followed Apple's procedure for avoiding the black screen while installing Windows 7 on the partitioned HD, and found I could not update to Boot Camp 3.1 without already having Boot Camp 3.0 from the 10.6 install disc. I inserted the disc, had to perform a workaround because it said I couldn't run 64-bit, and installed the drivers (I assume?) from Boot Camp on the 10.6 disc. When my iMac restarted the screen soon goes black. I guessed I was at the login screen, typed in my name and password, and could hear it logging into Windows--my sound works, Magic Mouse works (no scrolling), etc but no screen after booting up in Windows. Did the Boot Camp drivers from the install disc over-write something that was working? How do I fix this so I can proceed to install the 3.1 and 3.2 Boot Camp updates? Just the ATI* trick? Please help!!!

I'm sorry to take up your time guys - as I wrote earlier I'm not that technical and new to all of this - I was promised that I could do everything the mac way in the windows environment if I bought Parallels Desktop 7 - I only did this as my company is installing af new CRM system that is only supported in Windows - now I have installed everything and find out that the MAC keyboard shortcuts and layout is not working at all in i.e. Outlook etc. and I've totally forgotten how the Windows shortcuts etc. is working - Parallels asked me to go to Apple for help and here I am
You write that "if you believe it's correct do it" - but I don't believe anything else than what I'm told - I'm not going to install anything if I don't know how to do and whether it's correct - I wont have the nerve to do that.
If at least could get a list or someting on how to use my Magic Trackpad in the windows environment I would be happy - then I would just have to switch between how to use it on both sides.
Hope you understand and sorry again for taking up your valuable time

  • Boot Camp problems with Windows 7, and a new Macbook Pro

When I try to install Windows 7, when the process is almost complete and Windows is finalizing all settings, the system reboots then gets stuck at the white/gray bootscreen, and then tries to boot from disk, only to repeat the bootscreen cycle indefinitely. How do I fix this? Thank you very much.

My MAC BOOK is 13 inch, first generation of unibody that I bought when it first came out last November, 2009. It seems that the latest boot camp 3.1 does not support windows7 64 bits on my mac book model. I followed Apple instruction to upgrade boot camp 3.0 when running XP 32 bits. And I then upgrade my XP 32 bits to 64 bit Windows 7. The upgrade/installation was successful but I encountered a lot of problems with the mouse and sound.
    1. No sound with my new Windows 7 64 bits.
    2. I managed to make Windows 7 64 bit recognize my apple mighty mouse. But the mouse does not funtion normal as expected. It does not work with swiping and scrolling.
    3. I could not re-install boot camp 3.0 from windows.old nor from the Mac OS X installation disk. When I tried to run setup.exe from the MAC OS X snow leopard, I got the error "Boot camp x64 is unsupported for this model"
I am really disappointed that boot camp 3.1 is not universally supported for all mac book or mac book pro.
I need help to re-install boot camp for my Windows 7? I bought the upgrade through education upgrade program and I selected to get 64 bit version so I do not want to rollback the installation to 32 bit.
    Please help.

  • Installing Boot Camp after Parallels

I have installed Parallels 4.0 but I need to install Boot Camp (to be able to watch iPlayer via my XBox). Is it safe to just install Boot Camp using my Windows XP disc (I have plenty of hard disc space) or do I have to uninstall Parallels and reinstall it later ?

Thanks for the re-assurance Fortuny ! One follow-on question if I may (and apologies for my total ignorance). Will installing XP again on the same machine really cause the automatic loss of XP on the Parallels partition ?
    Hi,
    yes it will.
Due to the fact that you run the same XP license twice on 'different hardware components' (once native with BootCamp and once virtualized with Parallels), XP thinks that you are running it on two different computers.
The link I gave is meant to compensate that, but I myself haven't tried it.

  • Need help installing my graphics driver in windows vista via boot camp

New to mac so first time on forum as well.
Love the Mac but i also want to get on some old games. C&C The First Decade mainly.
    I am currently using below.
Mac mini Mid 2011 processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core it
    Memory 4 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6630M 256 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5
Installing windows vista home premium 32 bit
I have installed windows vista home premium using boot camp assistant and downloaded the windows drivers as well. After i have installed windows i installed boot camp using my Mac OS X snow leopard which installed boot camp 3 or 3.1 i believe and i eventually got apple updates for 3.2 which is what i am now runnning on vista. I had trouble getting my sound to play through my speakers at first but eventually got them working and now it is my graphics driver that i cannot seem to get working. In vista(I also downloaded service pack 1 and 2) when i go to control panel and check out my device control it shows a yellow exclamation point next to the adapter. I guess i need help in getting my graphics installed correctly on my windows. Is there something i should take off to install the correct driver? Or do i just need the correct driver download? If i have the correct driver how do i upload it onto my windows side in the device control.
When i try to run c&c generals/zero hour i get a directx 8.1 error, red alert 2 is black but i can hear. i know these games can work i installed the graphics correctly the first time when i did not have sound as this is my second time installing windows so the game did load when i did not have sound.
    Advise?
I was thinking about saying forget this i can't waste hours of my time anymore but i have to be close to getting everything working if i had graphics before and no sound but sound this time and no graphics. I was also thinking about just buying windows 7 home premium sp1 64bit system builder dvd off amazon and reinstalling windows using windows 7 but i want to make sure i can play these games before i spend the money. I thought my mini couldn't support windows vista and if it did only boot camp 4? how am i getting this far to get things to work?
What is the driver i need to install to get these games working? What do I need to do or what am I missing???
Do i need to install a different boot camp off apple and find a driver that will get mine to work in vista?
Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated i have been at this everyday for hours.

Also is there something, say maybe a driver, that was installed i do not need that is blocking me from installing the correct drivers? What driver in my boot camp folder do i need to install to get to the correct display to run those games.

  • I'm using a 2014 iMac and a Win 8.1 64bit install disc with bootcamp. I created the ISO according to the instructions but when I selected it in bootcamp I got the following error "Boot Camp only supports Windows 7 or later..."

Bootcamp rejects the ISO file made from a windows 8.1 disc with the error message "Boot Camp only supports Windows 7 or later installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for Windows 7 or later installation."
How do I get past this?

    Hi Loner T
No the ISO is just 64bit. I bought a shrink wrapped copy of 8.1 full version. It has two discs, one for 32bit and one for 64bit. I used the 64bit disc.
I inserted it in an older iMac that has a dvd drive, and shared that across to my new iMac. I used disc utility to create a disc image following instructions I found here...
Boot Camp: Creating an ISO image from a Windows installation DVD - Apple Support
This created an ISO file. I then went into bootcamp but when I tried to use the ISO file to create a boot USB it failed with the error above.

  • Windows corrupts itself, errors installing Boot Camp 2.0 & 2.1

Mac OS 10.5 is working just fine, however upon partitioning and installing Windows XP Pro w/ SP2, I have nothing but problems! Windows update will not work, cannot install Boot Camp 2.1 without errors (says files are corrupted, even though I have re-downloaded the file a dozen or so times). After a short while of rebooting and attempts to install updates, Windows corrupts itself; IE will not open, Windows explorer crashes regularly, and no installation files will open without errors. Safari for windows barely works. I have attempted formatting and reinstalling the system 4 times now, both FAT and NTFS, using different Mac OS X disks for boot camp software, but I get errors every time. It seems I cannot install anything without errors. Also, windows seems to degenerate, each time I boot up the computer windows gets progressively worse, more errors, more problems.
I have checked and all of my EFI and SMC software is up to date.
Everything is working just fine on my Macbook (different computer), which used the same procedure.
    Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.33ghz, 3gig RAM, 160HD, X1600, DL-DVDR
Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.4 Windows XP Pro w/ SP2

Solution found: Bad memory module (stick of RAM). After removing the bad stick, windows runs normally, updates are smooth.
Used "Remember" application to confirm memory is bad.

Will contact Applecare regarding bad memory.

  • Can't Install Boot Camp 3.0 on 64-bit Windows 7 system

I have 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate running on HD#2 on a Mac Pro 2,1 system (2006). I've installed the Boot Camp 2.0 drivers after I installed Windows, I forget why I needed them, maybe for an old Apple keyboard.
Anyway, I can't install Boot Camp 3.0 from the Snow Leopard DVD - the installation runs to completion, but generates various error messages, one of which says that Boot Camp 3.0 64-bit can't be installed on this system.
I really need 3.1 now because my Magic Mouse won't work, and I can't sync Mobile Me.
Is there a fix or a workaround to upgrade Boot Camp on this system? Should I use Windows Uninstall to get rid of Boot Camp 2.0 first?
If it matters, Windows 7 is the upgrade version from Vista Ultimate.

    http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
Click on "Downloads", (underneath the big hard drive icon), scroll down a bit and there is a link for "Boot Camp:Upgrading to Windows 7" and another link for Version 3.1 which you need for 64 bit to work right after 10.6.4(?). I would just try downloading the Boot Camp 64bit 3.1 file and try that first if you already have Window's 64 bit installed.
Don't forget you need a WIRED keyboard AND mouse if you need to reinstall Window's.
Here's another link that is all over the place on which machines and which Windows works and what doesn't...

    Hope that helped.....
