Install BootCamp update 4.0 on Windows 7 x64 returns error

Hello,
I have a problem updating BootCamp software on Windows. Updating from 3.2 to 3.3 or 4.0, from ASU or from manual installation, returns this:
https:// picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/-w77Vf1cQrlarNb_LUz7fNct5nxxnOU3qWXwGpPvXwI?feat=directlink (spanish)
Basically, it says that I'm using a network resource that is not available, and tell me to pick a "BootCamp64.msi" file
If I set the file, it returns this:
https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/_tqfhSNKK1wBmojjR7kWy9ct5nxxnOU3qWXwGpPvXwI?feat=directlink (spanish)
It says the file set is not valid msi for installing Boot Camp Services, and tell me to find a file called "BootCamp64.msi" on a folder ready to install Boot Camp Services
This for 3.3 and 4.0 versions.
In the log, it says...:
Info: Found Boot Camp x64 version 3.2
Info: BootCampUI failed to install 64 bit Boot Camp patch. The install returned 1603
Info: BootCampUI is exiting. The install returned 1
I know how to manually install the drivers, but what I want is update bootcamp.
Details:
SO W: Windows 7 x64 Updated
SO OSX: Mac OSX 10.7.3 "Lion" Updated
Mac: iMac 21.5" (Late 2010 I think) 500GB, 8GB RAM.
This problem appeared from the first day I installed Windows 7.
I also have a log file from de msi generated with the command "/l*v c:\log.txt",it doesn't make me happy to make it public, but I've attached.
Thanks,
Alberto Salazar
P.S. : I'm spanish, so my english might be difficult to understant. Sorry.

Uninstall Boot Camp
Run Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility
Install 4.01
Sometimes you update by first removing the old version
You may want to run CCleaner as well.
CCleaner Optimization Cleaning
Start: run
Type: %TEMP%
Select All - send to Recycle Bin
Those two should be done as regular household cleaning maintenance
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2008.08.utilityspotlight.aspx
The Windows Installer CleanUp Utility is designed to allow you to safely remove Windows Installer settings from your computer in the event of a problem. Although the Windows Installer is designed to be very robust, it is possible for Windows Installer to become damaged if:
Your computer's registry becomes corrupted
You or someone else inadvertently changes a registry setting used by the Windows Installer, resulting in a problem
The installation of a program that uses Windows Installer (for example, Microsoft Office 2000) is interrupted
There are multiple instances of Setup running simultaneously, or an instance of Setup is "blocked"

  • Installing iTunes 7.0.2 on Windows Vista X64

    Hey guys,
Sorry if this has been covered in the past, I looked over the forum and couldn't find anything on this. However I have a solution for installing iTunes 7.0.2 on Windows Vista x64.
What was happening was that anytime I installed iTunesSetup.exe from Windows Vista x64 it said it couldn't find QuickTime and aborted the install. Well what was happening is that all 32 bit installers now go to the "Program Files (x86)" directory. And the install team at Apple hard coded iTunes Install to look for the QuickTime folder in "c:\Program Files" instead of getting the location provided by the OS ("c:\Program Files (x86)\"). So it blows up when it cannot find the QuickTime directory in the wrong location.
First download QuickTimeInstaller.exe and install QuickTime. (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/)
Move the QuickTime folder from c:\Program Files (x86) to c:\Program Files
Then download iTunesSetup.exe and install iTunes. (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/)
Worked perfectly for me. Let me know if anybody has any problems. I would also like to forward what I found to apple so that they can fix this in the future. Does anybody know a good source to send this too?

    Maybe you can hel me
Im unable to install itunes 7.0.2 because each time I try to i get an error message saying I have insufficient access to that key...the key being HKEYlocalmachine\software\microsoft windows\...etc, etc. etc...
    Can you helP???

I checked the link for the link Camera Raw 7.2 Windows. I just don't trust links like that, and worse yet, the download file is called Setup.exe.
Not for me!  It's Setup.zip and it opens as a zip archive via Explorer.  Specifically:

If it looks like Setup.exe to you, you're right to be suspicious!

  • Installing hp updates after upgrading to windows 7

I recently did a clean install (reformatted) of windows 7 on my touchsmart laptop, installed the updates off the windows 7 hp update page. However, the shortcut keys on the side of the touchscreen (the settings, mediasmart, screen rotate) no longer work. This may be due to me not installing the updates off the web page in the correct order?
I just started at the top of this page and worked my way down anyone know if these updates (specifically the hp mediasmart updates) need to be installed in a specific order?
or do I need to just open up specific programs and alter their startup settings?

ok I;ve given up for now heres a list of what tinkering Ive tried to no avail
    1) digitizer originally worked, showed up in device manager (n-trig digitizer, 2 digitizer hid compatible input, all 3 entries labelled under "digitizer")
    2) installed 2.59 win7 64bit n-trig multi touch pack got fatal error please restart and try again
    3) digitizer  no longer works, "unknown device" shows up in usb controllers
    4) flashed memory (turn off computer, hold on button in on position till computer turns off)
    5) digitizer still not working but now shows up in device manager under digitizer 3 entires
    6) installed 2.184 rev A win 7 64bit n-trig driver got fatal error
    7) restarted, unknown device in usb controllers again
    8) flashed memory again BUT only 1 entry in device manager under digitizer (n-trig_DIGITIZER, found HID-compliant consumer control device and n-trig multitouch HID device under Human Interface Devices
    9) trying to install either update (separately ) still get fatal error
    10) flashing memory no longer returns laptop to 3 digitizer entries stays in 1 digitizer 2 hid entires no matter what i try
so to summarise neither the 2.59 update or the slightly newer 2.184 rev A i found on the hp ftp will give touchscreen function.
N-trig's new driver update for multitouch has caused me to LOSE ALL TOUCHSCREEN FUNCTION

  • My sound no longer works on Mac OS after installing a Boot Camp partition for Windows 7 x64.

I installed Windows 7 x64-Bit Professional Edition on my iMac Mid-2011 on Yosemite 10.10.2 through Boot Camp. I installed Windows 7 without any hitches and I proceeded to install an old PC game and I was able to run it just fine, I could here the audio perfectly. But, the next day, when I started my iMac on the Mac OS partition, the sound bar icon on the top right was greyed out. This problem began occurring after I restarted to the (original) Mac OS partition I've tried to check it out on System Preferences and Audio MIDI Setup. On Sys Prefs, it says, "No output devices found" and "No input devices found". On Audio MIDI Setup, it says,"No Devices Found on the System."When I go back to the Windows partition, I can hear audio just fine and I can even set the volume from my keyboard. I have already updated the necessary drivers on the Windows side. I've reset the PRAM and repaired the disk permissions with Disk Utility. Headphones don't work either but I can send audio through a bluetooth speaker that I have.

    Hi 0day,
unfortunately you have to have the MacOS DVD to install the Boot Camp 3 (legally).
The 3.1 and 3.2 are upgrades to that (as you found out).

  • Workgroup Installing Client Fails (Build and Capture) - Windows 7 x64

Hi, I'm trying to configure a Build and Capture TS for Windows 7 x64 but the client always fails to find my site during installation, which means I can't install updates and applications. I'm running SCCM 2012 SP1 and the ConfigMgr2012-SP1-KB2801987-X64-ENU
    hotfix has already been installed.
I'm using the SMSMP=XX.XX (and SMSSITECODE=XXX) options but the log always says "No MPs were specified from commandline..."
I've done a huge amount of searching and it seems like it should be possible to end up with a client installed on a workgroup computer with the correct side code (and displaying "Currently Internet"), which should allow updates to be installed
during the TS, but I can't get it to work! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. You're right, I'm setting the SMSMP and SMSSITECODE in the command line of the package itself, not the TS properties box. I have tried both ways, in fact every combination I could think of and nothing seems to produce an installed client
which knows its site (and both ways produce almost identical logs, which makes me think the properties are being ignored from either location).
The log doesn't actually contain any error messages which seem relevant at all, but here's some chunks with all of the errors (the log was too big to post in its entirety) :

  • BT2010 Installed Cum Update Packs for Adapters and getting run-time errors with WCF-SQL

The process has been working fine for months.  Then we installed Cum Update packs to BT2010 (I'll get the exact C.U.'s from our admin guy) and last night got probably 20 errors similar to below.
       - Installed CU6 for BT2010
       - Installed CU3 for LOB (Adapters)
The SQL stored proc returns a mix of strings, integers, Guids, and dates; the BizTalk schema looks like matches perfectly. The stored proc runs fine in SSMS.
Got two errors for each, 1 in XLANG/s for the orchestration, and 1 for the Send port that calls the WCF-SQL adapter from the orchestration, and also 1 warning.
NOTE: This orchestration runs every 15 minutes 24x7.  It calls the Stored Proc to find out which extracts it needs to create.  Most all the extracts run at night.  So if I run the stored proc during the day, it normally returns an empty result
set.  Yet, the error below is happening every 15 minutes, even when the result set is empty.  How can it generate a data conversion error when there is no data to be converted?
    ORCHESTRATION/XLANG ERROR:
xlang/s engine event log entry: Uncaught exception (see the 'inner exception' below) has suspended an instance of service 'Common.Extract.Orchestrations.EFSRExtractHandler(2b35190e-5f11-e360-9ae8-daaf0372cbc3)'.
The service instance will remain suspended until administratively resumed or terminated.
If resumed the instance will continue from its last persisted state and may re-throw the same unexpected exception.

    Hi,
About the error System.InvalidCastException: Failed to convert parameter value from a String to a Guid
, maybe the field on the database is varchar(string type).

  • Error when trying to install MS Exchange 2010 Management Tools Windows 7 x64 SP1

When I try to install Exchange 2010 Management Tools on my Windows 7 Pro x64. I get the message ExSetupUI.exe has stopped working? Has anybody else gotten this message?  It doesn't even load into the install screen. It is stopping before then.

    Hi
Have you installed the admin tools for windows 7 and all the prerequisites? Try running the setup from an elevated prompt or "as Administrator"

  • Can't install bootcamp on Macbook Pro (2007 17-Inch) disk.sys error

Hi, I have a problem with a 2007 Macbook Pro that refuses to boot the Windows 7 Installer. When booting the disk it stays at "Starting Windows" and if I boot into Safe mode it stays stuck at "Loading: disk.sys". I made the windows partition using bootcamp and im using a Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bits) retail disk.
Please help i need windows because i make youtube videos and i can't find any screen recorder similar to fraps.
    Thanks.

From this page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634 in the help guides, your 2007 Macbook Pro does not support Windows 7.

  • After installing CS4 Master Suite on new Windows 7 X64 laptop, Premier Pro new projects window will not accept input.

I'm migrating my CS4 Master Suite to a new computer.  The new system is a Dell M3800 running Windows 7 x64.  Install goes fine except for a failure on Flash install.  Once install is complete Premier Pro won't accept any input on the New Projects window.  You can click on the file name field and change it but that's about it.  No buttons will function.  If you change the name and leave the field you can not change it again.  No further input is accepted and the actual change you made isn't applied.  You can exit out of the window with the X.  You can also go to an existing project no problem.  All other applications seem to be working fine.
Tried uninstall and cleanup and reinstall.  Problem does not change.  Made sure anti-virus and firewall were disabled before install.  No other applications are running during install.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Installing Bootcamp update AFTER Windows 7?

    Hep!
I successfully installed Windows 7 32 bit (upgraded from Vista) on my iMac a few months ago, obviously without full Bootcamp functionality but it works fine for my purposes. I thought I would be able to simply load Bootcamp 3.0/3.1 when they came out. I downloaded Bootcamp 3.0 into Windows7, but it won't start up.
Do I have any options other than going back to Vista and staring all over again?

And Troubleshoot Compatibility mode for any/all installers will allow the Apple drivers to install on Windows 7 on your 2006-7 Mac Pro.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-vers ion-of-windows
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/10436/using-program-compatibility-mode-in-windows -7/
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP30
    http://www.apple.com/support/macpro
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304854
Apple has put road blocks up with their variation of EFI32 firmware and misleading odd ideas of what they feel constitutes compatible or support.
And it is normal and necessary to install APPLE DRIVERS for logicboard as always after the OS is installed. (no need to load drivers during the Windows install with Windows 7). Calling them "Boot Camp" seems... misleading and confusing, they are chipset drivers as you need with any motherboard.

  • How to install Bootcamp update, if this is it.

I Downloaded the lastest Windows support software from apple, I put all the files on my iOS desktop, but now what do I do, is Bootcamp already updated?
Where did I did this, if someone is wondering.
    http://gyazo.com/a83f2156b3510d883b64ae5eafc16efe
    Downloaded Files picture:
    http://gyazo.com/247eba1b6241fd9759c2ae64ddd1e6e7

Now, you have to put the "WindowsSupport" folder on a USB drive or DVD, in order to install them in Windows. Windows support software is for Windows, and it installs the latest drivers for your computer.
After burning it into a DVD or USB drive, start in Windows and install Windows support software
