Install BPA Repository

Hi,
somebody know a good documentation about how to install BPA Repository 11g?
I try to intall BPA Repository, from this link in OTN, but I cound't find how.
http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/bpa/Oracle_BPA_Suite_11gR1_OTN_download.zip
This is the detail from the link:
Oracle Business Process Analysis Suite 11g (11.1.1.1)
Oracle Business Process Analysis Suite 11gR1 Evaluation Download (1,152,460,921 bytes)
Oracle Business Process Architect (Windows)
Oracle Business Process Publisher (Windows)
In this Evaluation Download exist Repository?
I need another software to download to can install BPA Repository 11g?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
since you spoke about the Business Process Repository and accessing it from remote, I assumed that you have a full version of BPA Suite 11g. As far as I know remote access is not possible with the evaluation version.
However you should be able to run it on your hostsystem. Please open the Admintool from the startmenu and enter the following commands (assumed you have a typical installation):
No connection<aris>> server LOCAL SITEADMIN
After a few minutes you should see something like: "LOCAL<aris>>". If this is the case you know that your installation was successful. Enter the command "list" and you'll see the ARIS databases that are currently on the server. Afterwards start the Business Architect (on the host as well) and add a server named LOCAL...
Let me know if the description above worked for you...
Best,
Danilo

  • How to install Oracle Database objects for BPA repository?

    Hello,
I have installed Oracle database (10.2.0.1) EE.
I have run the following command to install BPA repository and site manager.
    ./install_bpr10.1.3.4.271679.sh -bpr_type BS_SM -jvm ./bpa10.1.3.4/jdk1.5.0/ -dbserver rstnxlin011.oracle.com -dbport 1521 -dbinstance pva011
Where are the database object creation scripts? I am sure I still have to create ARIS objects in the database.
    Mustafa

Within my installation i could find the scripts on Disk 2 (where the windows installation of the Repository resides) in the folder DBMS/Oracle.

  • Default passwords after installation BPA Repository

I Installed the BPA Repository on my Windows server succesfully using an existing database.
Now I try to connect to the server using de BPA admintool. I connect to the server 'localhost' and password CFGADMIN. But the connection is refused because the password in not correct.
I am sure the repository is running because I started it manually (and the window doesn't show any errors and when I shutdown the repository I getting a server error when using the admintool instead of a password error).
What are the default passwords for configadmin and siteadmin?
What is the difference between siteadmin and configadmin?
Is localhost the correct one (I am running the BPA admintool on the server where the Repository is running).

    Gertjan,
What are the default passwords for configadmin and siteadmin? For siteadmin the default password is: SITEADMIN
for configadmin the default password is: CFGADMIN
What is the difference between siteadmin and configadmin?Site administration tool lets users manage multiple Business Process Repositories from a single tool.
The configuration admin is local to a server and is for controlling method filters, evaluations filters and for controlling user access.
Is localhost the correct one (I am running the BPA admintool on the server where the Repository is running).Yes, you can use either the local host, or the name or the IP address.

  • Need help Installing OID Repository on existing database server using RepCA

I have an oracle database server running 10g (10.2.0.4) and I want to install metadata repository on it. I downloaded the Application Server Metadata Repository Creation Assistant 10.1.2.0.1 (standard edition).
I find that there are no batch files in the download, just setup.exe. When I run that I am asked for an ORA_HOME - when I provide the home where the database is installed I get the message that the home already has the database and the software cannot be installed on it.
How do I add the repository to an existing instance of oracle database server? Also, is the version I downloaded the right version #
    Thanks

    Hi sameer khan,
first let me ask, are you talking about Netweaver04s (WAS 7.00), in this case my answer can give you some hints.
Note 883948 gives information of the installation of an additional usage tye (like BI JAVA)
You have more than one possibility to install the usage type BI JAVA. The most common installation types are:
    1. BI installation and a separate BI JAVA installation with 2 <SID>
    2. BI JAVA Addin Installation in an existing NW04s
I recommend to use option 1:
In case you install a separate BI-JAVA instance, you need a separate <SID> for your J2EE environment. In this case it is not possible to use the same <SID>. This installation can be done on the same or a separate server. Furthermore, you can use a separate database or install the J2EE instance in the same database (--> MCOD). I recommend to use a separate database. Note: In this installation option, Sapinst normally installs a separate user store. With the usage type BI JAVA it makes (in most cases) sense, to use the user store of the BI system, where it belongs to. If you want to do so, "Revise" the user store option before you start the installation and and choose the production client of the BI system.
If you like to use an Addin Installation, another <SID> is not possible. I would only recommend this kind of installation in test environments.
It doesn't matter, which kind you choose, after installation, you have to do the steps for "Setting up bex Web", see Note 917950. This is sometimes a little bit tricky, with Note 937697 there is a Support Tool, which can help.
    Good luck with your installation
    Kind Regards
    Marc

  • Install new repository 10g XE

    Hi all.
I am having trouble when trying to "meet" all requirements for installing new repository.
Since I am in learning phase of all what is Oracle I don't know how to solve the problem.
When I try to install new repository instance, i recive error - "you don't have select on sys.v_$parameters, ..cannot proceed".
I managed to grant myself all privileges except "Required object privileges", they are all unchecked. I tried to grant them logged in as system user but then I get "ORA-01031: insufficient privileges".
So what am I doing wrong, any ideas or links "how to install...".
    Thx in advance.
    bye.

    Yes designer repository.
Sorry I thought it's the only one(if there are other repositories).
Anyway the one you need to start Designer. When trying to launch designer it gives me message "This user does not have an installed Repository. Invoke the Repository Admin. utility".
So Oracle 10g XE doesn't have this option?

  • Cannot install new repository

    Hi
I've installed designer 6i and oracle server. When install new repository, it says:"IMP-00016 not supporting character set translated (from 31 to 852)". I can't continue. Why? Help!

Check that you are using the correct imp.exe.
Check in the RAU that the parameter string execute_import is pointing to an 8.1.6/7 imp.exe.
    David

  • Install a repository instance

When I use RAU to install a repository instance,it cause a error CDR-21244:"The .msg message file 'e:\oracle\repository\repadm61\cdrzus.msg' for product 'CDRMSG61', utility 'CDR' could not be found."
in the logfile, the error number is
IMP-00016. on my computer, there is only one imp.exe file.the version of the imp.exe is 8.1.7.0.0.My NLS_LANG is simplied chinese.
(By the way, when I installing the repository release 6i,it tell me that I can only install with English.)
    Who could tell me ?

Please follow the section in the install guide for languages other than english:
Set up Oracle Repository to accept non-English character input (if required)
The characters from any 8-bit language can be entered into Oracle Repository as object names, properties, etc. The database server must use an 8-bit
    character set.
To set up non-English character input:
1.Change the client keyboard language in Windows by changing the country or locale setting:
Select Start Settings Control Panel Regional Settings or Regional Options. Click the Input Locales tab, then either set a new default
language, or set up the workstation to switch languages by means of a key combination.
2.On the client machine, change the value of the registry entry \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ ORACLE \ HOME0 \ NLS_LANG
from AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1 to an 8-bit language such as FRENCH_FRANCE.WE8ISO8859P1 or
    GERMAN_GERMANY.WE8ISO8859P1.

  • Can I install Metadata Repository for 10.1.2.0.2 on Oracle 10.2.0 database

  • Trouble installing Designer Repository under XE

I have installed Oracle 10g XE on another PC (as a test system), and I have the XE Client on my own laptop. I also have SQL Designer installed, and both can talk to the copy of XE just fine. However, when I try to install the Designer Suite, I've run into a couple of major problems, primarily with the repository.
I seem to be able to create the repository ok, but when I try to install it, I get the error messages (shown below) when I get to the step called "cksysfol.sql". I let the Repository installation process continue, and no other errors were raised.
I tried to research this on Oracle's discussion forums, and found very little that addresses anything like this. Several posts suggest that creating a Designer Repository is not possible under XE. Other posts seem to indicate that other people have been successful in installing a Designer repository. I also found references that said I needed to enable "Fine-Grained Access Control" as part of the original database installation process, but I didn't see any place where that was even an option.
I need to install Designer because I need access to the Entity Relationship Diagram feature for a project I'm working on.
What do I need to do to get the Repository installed correctly?
