Install Bridge 2.1.1

I have downloaded Bridge 2.1.1, now exactly how and where do I install it?

It is my understanding that Bridge is not a stand alone product. Therefore install the update to the Bridge directory, although this is usually an automatic process done by the program. Believe the latest version is 2.1.1.9

  • Is it possible to install Bridge CS6 now I am on CC2014?

    Hi there
Along with many people I miss the very useful thumbnail output feature from Bridge CS6 that allowed me to make a pdf showing thumbnails of all images  EVEN INSIDE SUBFOLDERS from a given folder.
The function seems to be broken in CC2014.
This was one of the key tools and uses I had for Bridge, would love to get it back!
Apparently CS6 is the last version of Bridge to allow this, and I have a new machine with new CC2014 installed on it, how on earth can I add this older version of Bridge to my setup? It doesnt show up in the 'previous versions' filter in theCC installer...

Matthew A you can install Bridge CS6 as part of Photoshop CS6, Illustrator CS6, or InDesign CS6.  It was not available as a separate installation until Bridge CC.  You can find details on how to install the previous version of these software titles at Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html.
Please be aware that your file associations will likely become associated to whatever CS6 application you installed.  If you wish to use CC 2014 you will want to adjust your file associations.

  • I have installed bridge 6. I have the icons and it shows in the directory, but will not open

I have installed bridge cs6 and it will not open. I have the icons and it shows in the directory.  I open CS6 CC ok but when I open bridge from CS6, it opens the older virsion CS5.

You have Bridge CS5 running in background.  Open CS5 and in adv. pref. uncheck "start bridge at login".  Either reboot or close background program.

  • Newly installed Bridge CC crashes immediately when opening

I just installed Bridge CC for the first time on my MBP, but I have not been able to get it to open successfully. I've tried rebooting, I've uninstalled/reinstalled, and also logged out of CC and logged back in. All to no avail.
Does anyone know what the problem is and how to solve it? Thanks in advance!
Here's the first part of the crash report. If more info is needed, let me know and I'll paste more. I don't know how to read this sort of thing, and it's unclear what the specific error is that I should be Googling.

MikeSewell56 it is not required that you install Bridge CC.  If you wish to use features such as the mini Bridge however it will be necessary to install.

  • Installed Bridge CC, but it will not open.  Any ideas?

CC Home page says everything is up to date.  Tried to start by double-clicking and also by going to file location.  No luck.

Thanks for responding.  It won’t open through Photoshop, so I think that I will delete the program and re-install. I upgraded to 8.1 after I had installed Bridge, and I think that might be related to the problem.
    Thanks, again.

  • Copying Metadata and Keyword Info when installing Bridge on new computer

Hi, I've just purchased a new computer and have installed Bridge CC on it, but I couldn't figure out what files from my old computer I need to copy/move over so that I can access the metadata and keywords that I had customized in Bridge on my older computer.  Both are Bridge CC so there should be versioning issues.
Can someone give me a step by step on what files to copy and replace?
    Thanks,
    Steve Goldberg
I'm using a Mac Pro, if that helps.

I talked with another Adobe employee tha told me that PhotoShop 8 should work with Windows 7.  She suggested I post my issue on this forum.
Sigh, it's bad enough that Adobe tech support gave you conflicting information, but for them to shun responsibility by directing you to a user forum is completely unacceptable.
Having said that, I have the following suggestions:
From what I've found on MSDN, that error is generated because either the Adobe software installed on your computer is performing an illegal or conflicting operation; or some Windows system files have been deleted or moved.
So, the things to try are:
Simplify matters by uninstalling all the Adobe software -- PSE8, Premier elements, PSE9, the whole works.  Restart your computer and then install only PSE9.
If you still get the error, use System File Check to repair the system files:
Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click
Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command
Prompt, and then click Run as
administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for
a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
Type the following command, and then press ENTER:
    sfc /scannowThe sfc
/scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect
    versions with correct Microsoft versions.
Be patient, it can take a while.  After running sfc, even if it reports it didn't find any files to repair, it really did, so restart your computer.

  • Can't install Bridge

Hi - I'm running photoshop CS4 and bridge on a Mac OSX 10.7. Today, while trying to run bridge, I got a low memory error message. Soon thereafter, I couldn't use it at all. Not knowing what else to do, I trashed it and redownloaded another Bridge. But when I tried to install it, it said I needed Adobe Application Manager. So I downloaded that, but I still can't install bridge (I get the same message). So I redownloaded both Bridge and the application manager but still cannot install brigde. Any ideas? thanks, aldri7

I'm thinking of upgrading Photoshop to CS5 anyway. Maybe if I do that my problems will go away?
Upgrading to CS5 would sure benefit you but regarding the news Adobe plans to release CS6 in the first half of this year it might be wise to check if you are entitled to a free or rebated upgrade to CS6 after having bought CS5
But first of all you really need to check your amount of RAM installed. If it is indeed 512 MB I'm very surprised you can use your iMac at all but it is by far to less to work with CS4, let alone CS5!!
RAM is cheep nowadays and if possible max your system out, you will profit very much from 4 GB RAM and above

  • Installing bridge CS4 without Dreamweaver

I have a legal copy of Dreamweaver CS4 and this ships with Bridge CS4. A year ago I upgraded to Dreamweaver CS5.5, but as it is a charity volume license it doesn't come with Bridge CS5.5 and so I want to install bridge CS4.  My CS4 installation will not let me untick the Dreamweaver installation, and I don't want that.
Is there a way around this?
    Thanks

To put it in perspective for you, consider that Bridge started out as nothing more and nothing less than Photoshop's File Browser.
It was renamed by marketing fiat to help promote the totally artificial suite concept.
Inconsistency between or among applications in the artificial "suites" should come as no surprise.
The "suite" concept is an invetion of Adobe marketing and bean-counting types.  The engineering teams are totally independent of each other, they are not only in different buildings but in different cities and states of the American Union, even in different countries.  The fact that they have little if any communication among them is highlighted by requests occasionally made in these forums by top Adobe engineers to let the other teams know when there are problems in one application that impact our workflow in another one.

  • Install Bridge (CS3) without installing Photoshop?

We use Bridge (with CS3) to work with the metadata for batches of photographs.  Problem is, we don't always want to install Photoshop on the workstation.  We've tried to merely copy the Bridge (we have a few licenses) to the Applications folder, but it's not without a few problems.
So my question is, is there a way to install and use Bridge without having to install Photoshop itself?

Two thoughts immediately come to mind:
    • Bridge started out as—and to a great extent still remains—nothing other than Photoshop's Browser.  It has changed only its name.  Personally, I knpw of no way of installing Bridge without installing Photoshop.  Conversely, I know of no way of uninstalling Photoshop harmlessly without also uninstalling Bridge in the process.
    • It's absolutely hilarious to read that anybody would ever want to install Bridge CS3 all by itself, as Bridge 2.x in CS3 was probably the worst piece of software ever released by Adobe or by any major software development company.  Now, Bridge 3.x and 4.x in CS4 and CS5 respectively I might buy, but Bridge in CS3?
