Install CCMS on TREX (7.1) landscape
Hi,
I have installed a TREX 7.1 landscape (on Windows server). On the master server, CCMS/GMRG have been installed/configured (and CCMS receives the info from the TREX) --> ok
In order to get information on the 2 slaves servers (GMRG), i have tried to install saposcol (ok) and ccms as well. Then i get a problem when launching the python script (python ccms_config.py u2013grmg)
--> the system cannot access the ...SYS\profile folder (and update the profile files).
Reason : on the slave servers, there is a "SYS" folder which is, in reality, a "shortcut" that is "mounted" to <master server>\....\SYS folder.
--> in a command prompt, the "shortcut folder" is not reachable (means it cannot read the info from the SYS folder (on the master trex server)
I am then wondering which action i could try ? (this problem should not exist in Linux, due to the principle of mount folder... that makes the target folder location "invisible" for the local host system)
Thx for comment/idea.
Denis

I had the same problem on Mandrake 8.0. Just hit the cancel or
stop button and restart it. The second run completes fine.

Installing CCMS on a new system. System entry not found in RZ20CEN aftr reg
Hi Guys,
I am trying to install CCMS for our systems. I have made all the configurations as per the "Monitoring Setup Guide
(CEN SAP Net Weaver7.0 SPS 13)" document and refered all the help.sap.com doc's for configuring ccms.
I have registered the system with the CEN and I see the entry for my system in CEN in RZ21. but in RZ20 on CEN I donot see the entry for my system.
Do I need to add this manually in RZ20? Or did I miss something. If some one has come accross this plz help.
Thanks
ManmathHi Kunal,
That was very helpful. I awarded you the points.
I had just done that when I received your reply.I refered to to the thread
CCMS CEN Configuration for SAP 4.6C version
Now, I have added the system to the new monitor set.
I want to use the templates provided by SAP to set up the alerts (monitor).
There are templates like
SAP CCMS Monitor Templates
SAP CCMS Monitors for Optional Components
SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors
SAP CCMS Technical Operations Templates
How can I use the template SAP CCMS Monitor Templates ?
Thanks

How to install CCMS agent in MSCS cluster system?
Hi,
We just migrated our WAS 7.0 system from a single to a MSCS cluster system and we need re-install CCMS agent on it. New cluster system have two nodes. Each node we have local SAP instances. We have central instance for message server running on a shared drive, which can failover to one of the nodes. My question is when I install CCMS agent, where I should I install it? Each node of the cluster on local drive or only shared drive or I have to install on three places?
Thanks you.
Yujun RanHallo.
Did you solve your issue?
I followed Oss note 536954, but I am not sure that it is for new cluster system.
Furthermore, the CCMS agent that you installed, point to a CEN system (as Solution manager for example) and as second system to the central instance ?
Thanks.

Team,
We have installed CCMS agents on both ABAP and JAVA systems using the executables sapccm4x and sapccmsr.
Now we would like to install CCMS agents on DB servers to capture the performance metrics of DB system.
I have done the below steps
1.Logged in to DB server, updated the SAPCCM4X and copied the csmconf file to /usr/sap/<SID>/log/sapccm4x directory
2.Installed the agent using sapccm4x -R pf=<profile path>
Even since the registration is succesful.I'm unable to capture the metrics for that particular system in RZ20.
I would like to confirm is it the same procedure used for configuring CCMS in ABAP and JAVA systems using sapccmsr and sapccm4x or its a different procedure.
Regds,
Satyanarayana N.Team,
I'm facing a differnet issue now..when I register my databse system using sapccmsr -R pf=<profile path>/<instance profile>
I get the below error
INFO: use SAPLOCALHOST vchrapp01
INFO: CCMS agent sapccmsr working directory is /usr/sap/tmp/sapccmsr
INFO: CCMS agent sapccmsr config file is /usr/sap/tmp/sapccmsr/csmconf
ERROR: Can not create/open configuration file /usr/sap/tmp/sapccmsr/csmconf.

Please let me know your suggestions if anyone has come across this sort of problem.

Installing CCM on DL 380 G3/G2 with dual PIII or Dual Xeon
Hi NetPros,
I am planning to buy and install CCM 4.X or higher version on HP/Compaq DL 380 or DL 320. when i looked at the Cisco Approved Hardware requirements sheet i found the model that i am planning to buy... with dual PIII or dual Xeon on DL 380 G3. The Cisco document says
"DL380-G2 is a robust server solution designed for Cisco Unified Communications software
applications. Up to 7500 IP phones can be supported on a single server running Cisco
CallManager 3.3 or later. The required processors are dual Intel Pentium III 1.4-GHz processors. No specific memory configuration is required as long as 2 GB of memory is achieved".
Just wanted to make sure with NetPro's before buying the server that i am able to install and practice myself on CCM 4.X or higher versions.
Also, wondering.. Is DL 360 is also on the approved list ??? and is it possible to install CCM on it
Thanks in advance....here you have the HW compatibility matrix

RegradsWhen you install NW 2004s KM is one of the components you have to choose to install. If you already have a portal installed and you will already have KM. Follow the following wiki page for TREX - https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Search/InstallingTREXin+Windows

Where to install CCM, access or core switch?
What's the recommendation on where the CCM server should be, in access switch or core switch? Based on ipt readiness assessment seems servers should be on access switch. Thanks
If you have many wiring closets (access layer) that has phones plugged into them, its better to centrally colocate CCM and such to the core, or in a distribution block that is connected to the core.

I read the recommandation for CM5.0
Cisco CallManager 5.0 requires a minimum of the following on the Cisco CallManager servers.
- 2 GB of memory
- 72 GB Disk Drive
- 2 GHz processor
I try to install it on HP Proliant DL140 G2 But I have an error message during the installation.
See my picture screen (not excellent quality). I don't think so I can decrease clock speed. What is the way?
Many Thanks
fabHi jlzfeeney,
Ok for your URL.
But with this documentation :
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_callmg/5_0/rel_note/501cmrn.pdf
I have this remark :
System Requirements
Make sure that you install and configure Cisco CallManager release 5.0(1) on a Cisco Media
Convergence Server (MCS).
You may also install Cisco CallManager on a Cisco-approved HP server configuration or a
Cisco-approved IBM server configuration.
Cisco CallManager 5.0 requires a minimum of the following on the Cisco CallManager servers.
+ 2 GB of memory
+ 72 GB Disk Drive
+ 2 GHz processor

Could I install CCM 3.x to VM server, than upgrade it to CCM4.x?
We have some very old servers which installed CCM4.x many years ago. Because these servers are so old now, we want have some VMs to backup them. Could I install CCM3.x to VM servers, than upgrade it to CCM4.x? Are there any license problems here ?
Thanks a lot for this crazy question!
SamHi Jiande,
You can do so but they will not be TAC supported. Additionally, CUCM 3.x and 4.x are already end of support and if you need TAC assistance in upgrading from a cucm 4.x built on VMWare to a Linux based version then it will not be supported either. There is no concept of licensing in 3.x and 4.x versions. When you upgrade to a linux version using Data Migration Assistant ( DMA ) a license file is generated that allows the licensing team to publish the requisite licenses for you on the linux version.

Dear all,
I'm currenlty installing CCM and Trex on a development system. I was wondering whether someone of you had an indication on what the approximate required disk space is for Trex ?
The Trex will only be used by CCM and CCM (in our dev system) will have minimal (approx. 100-200) catalog items.
Thanks for your reply,
Best regards,
KristofHi
<u>TREX is mandatory for CCM2.0. TREX is a required component of the SAP CCM 2.0, even in the scenario where the search functionality would not be used (i.e. in a scenario of just navigating the hierarchial structure and selecting items) the TREX is still a requirement for publishing and indexing of the published data.</u>
