Install CS3 suite on new iMac

Just bought a new iMac and want to install my CS3 suite without CDs (since I bought download version). How do I proceed?
Bernard

I also purchased a new iMac 21,5" mit 3.06 Ghz.
Unfortunately the installer quits immediately after launch.
Any hints what I can do?
I also tried to start with rosetta without success.

  • Can't install CS3 Upgrade on NEW iMac 24". An Imac DVD drive issue?

My CS3 Design Premium Upgrade CD fails to install Photoshop on my BRAND NEW iMac yet it is able to install everything else on the CS3 disc. I just bought this iMac yesterday and CS2/CS3 Upgrade are the FIRST things I installed (besides updates) when I turned it on. I'm still using 10.4.10.
I searched through the Adobe forums and the internet as to how others with the same issue have dealt with the problem, but it seems the most common reason is that people had installed Photoshop CS3 beta previously as well as older Flash/Acrobat plug-ins conflicting with the installation process. Further, these causes seem to be effecting Windows users.
So a few hours ago I tried to COPY the upgrade CD contents to my hard disk, I get the message:
"The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in 'AdobePhotoshop 10en_US.dmg' could not be read or written. (Error code -36)."
This procedure of copying to the disk (and the resulting error message) is SPECIFICALLY addressed in the Adobe support pages TechNotes:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401429&sliceId=2
The page says that it may be a drive issue that is causing the problem. Of the 7 possible solutions given on the page, I've narrowed it down to only 1 option left (but I can't try it since I don't have another Mac!):
"*Solution 4*: Copy the software to the hard drive of a different computer.
*If the software copies successfully, the model of DVD drive on your original computer might not be able to read the DVD. Contact the DVD drive or computer manufacturer for any updates that might be available.*"
But what's funny (or annoying rather) is, I had a 20" Alum 2.4 iMac earlier this year (returned because of screen problem), and the CS3 upgrade installed without any problems on it!..??? And according to the iMac specs, the 20" and 24" models both have the same DVD drive make right?
Any ideas??? Are there other 24" iMac users who are experiencing similar problems? If not, then I guess I may have to return yet another iMac...which I'm reluctant to do since this screen is PERFECT! I'm scared to get another iMac with the dreaded screen gradient issue.

    I just solved the problem.
I tried copying the DVD files to the hard disk about 7-8 more times. The last try SUCCESSFULLY copied to the disk and I was able to install Photoshop CS3.
    Yay.

  • Installing CS3 upgrade on new iMac (from G5)

The serial no. for CS2 renders error message: "Serial no. does not match...".

As Bob says, we're users here. We have no access to information about serial numbers.
You need to call Adobe Customer Service for serial number issues.
InDesign CS3 was released in 2007, and Mountain Lion in 2012 so it's pretty likely there will be some incompatibilities.

  • Installing Flash on a new iMac

    Ok... here's my problem.
I'm trying to install Flash CS3 on my new iMac. I've got
Flash 8 on it, works fine. When I put in the Flash CS3 DVD, I get
no installer or anything. I get a window with the following items:
    Adobe Extension Manager.webloc
    Adobe Flash CS3 Professional (folder)
    Adobe Reader 8 (folder)
    Adobe Solutions Network (folder)
    Documentation (folder)
    Flash CS3 Professional Read Me.html
    Goodies (folder)
Looking inside the Adobe Flash CS3 Professional folder, there
is a "Setup.app" which I launched, but it only wants to install the
player, not the full app. There is nothing that says "Install
Flash" or "Flash Installer" anywhere. The read me says "If the
installer does not launch automatically, navigate to the
application folder found at the root level on your disk and
double-click Setup Mac OS® to start the installation process."
There is nothing of the sort on the disk... no applications folder
on the root level, just the things referenced above.
Any insights or thoughts on what I'm dealing with would be
appreciated. I'm dead in the water w/out Flash and this is very
    frustrating.
    Thanks,
    Dan P.

iMacs ship with the iLife applications (iPhoto, Garageband, iMovie, etc.).
Pages is part of the iWork suite of applications (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote), and has never been free. As Kappy has mentioned, if you're interested in one of the iWork applications, you'll have to go to the App Store application on your iMac and purchase it. If you ordered your iMac with the iWork suite, you should have a DVD with those applications on it.

  • Installing CS3 Upgrade on new machine? CS2 registered user on old machine

I was wondering if I would be able to install a CS3 Upgrade on a new iMac I plan to purchase....I have a fully registered CS2 version on my current iMac, so therefore I think I'd be eligible to only purchase the upgrade...but would I need to install CS2 on the new iMac first, then the upgrade? Would doing this affect the upgrade because of multiple activations on CS2?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just install CS3. During the installation you'll be asked for some proof
of eligibility. You need either the CS2 installation disk or the serial
number, but make sure you have both handy.

  • I just installed iLife on my new Imac version 10.8.2 and now I can't open my iPhoto app.  It says that I Photo is damaged or incomplete.  What do I do to restore my iPhoto and pictures!

I just installed iLife on my new iMac 10.8.2 version and now I can't open my iPhoto app.  It says it is damaged or incomplete.  What can I do to get it back along with all of my picutures?  I was told by an Apple employee at my one to one training that it was OK to install iLife to get the iDVD that I wanted. Help!

I have installed iLife a few times and because of photostream, the version on the disc must be updated.  Software update usually takes care of it.  It sounds like you installed an old version over a new version.  I've not tried that.
You have a late 2012 machine, if you open the Mac app store from the dock, you should be able to go to the purchased tab and download/install the right version of iphoto.  Honestly, you should not have used that disc on this new of mac or at least only installed iDVD & iWeb but not garageband, iphoto, and iMovie.
If the Mac App Store shows iphoto as installed already, drag the app from your applications folder to the trash and reinstall it again from the Mac App Store.  That is the version you need.  You may find garageband and imovie have similar problems.
    good luck.
PS.  your photos are in your photo folder in your home folder.  don't touch those, I'm talking about the app "iphoto" in the applications folder.

  • Cannot install CS3 on my new computer

hi, i cannot install CS3 on my new computer due to the fact that i did not deactivate is on my old laptop. to which i dont have acces any more.. can anyone help finding a solution?

Have you tried installing it or are you just assuming you cannot.  You are normally allowed to install and activate on two machines.
You will need to contact Adobe support thru chat in order to get assistance with deactivating the inaccessible installation.  For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

    Dj Generator wrote:
[There] must be other options, i would rather not spend £70 on a disk drive or £140 on the software again??
Hmmm? A quick google search for external optical readers turns up many in the $20-$40 (USD) range. Didn't convert to £ or include any VAT charges, but you should be able to get something significantly cheaper than £70. That's your simplest solution.

  • How to instal iMovie6 in my new iMAC

What is the best way to install iMovie6 to my new iMac that is on it's way...I read so much about how no one likes the new iMovie8. So should I use firewire and transfer it or should I use the disc? The reason I ask is because I have so many plugins in iMovie6 and it would be faster to use firewire. But then someone said it might knock out iMovie8. So another question would be should I rename iMovie6 before I transfer it to the new machine? Someone told me that adding iMovie6 to the new iMac may knock out iMove8.If I use the disc should I re-name iMovie8 first? Or would it be better to use the iLife6 disc to the new machine.
    Thanks
    Sue

Ellyn, while both of the previous solutions offered would get you iMovie 06 on your computer, they wouldn't get you all of your plug ins, and other documents currently on your existing mac.
When your new computer arrives, and before you start it up the first time, position it next to you existing mac. Connect the two with a firewire cable. Restart your old mac while holding down the T key. This will eventually produce a firewire logo on the screen of your old mac. When you see the logo you can let go of the T key. You haven't hurt your old mac or lost any info. You're starting it in TARGET mode to allow the new computer to transfer all of your old files when you boot it for the first time.
Now you can turn on your new iMac. It will go through a start up process and will ask you if you want to copy your old files from an existing mac. Click yes (or ok) and there ya go. It will take about 15 minutes to copy your files over, maybe longer if you have a lot.
But all of your existing software installs, documents, passwords, layout, and desktop preferences will be copied over. You can then set it up differently if you like.
This way, all of your plug ins, and you're existing iMovie preferences will transfer and be ready to go with your new computer.

  • Can i install bootcamp on the new iMac late 2012 "27"?

can i install bootcamp on the new iMac late 2012 "27" without fushion drive?

    You have two possibilities:
    1. Buy the USB SuperDrive and install Windows from a disc.
    2. Use an USB drive with the Windows 7 installer inside.
Boot Camp isn't compatible with Windows 8, so you will have to wait. Also, the Late 2012 is only compatible with the 64-bit Windows 7 edition

    I need some recomendations plz.

    Hello,
you don't need OS X install-disk, but I strongly recomend to burn a Win 7 disk. You may have some problems with installing it from a USB Flash :)
    Cheers!

Trying to install Windows 7 on new iMac (OS X Mavericks). Have Windows 7 DVD. Have superdrive. Have USB flash drive. What is, and where do I find the "Windows ISO image" that Bootcamp is asking for? ("select the Windows ISO image"...)

You can use the installation dvd from microsoft or you can download the iso file from microsoft and use that method instead.
