Install CS4 with all the bells and whistles... Or not?

Still like using Freehand 11 for my design work, but I just purchased Illustrator CS4 as a competitive download from Adobe. The price was right. I want to start learning how to use it mostly for vector based art - logos, signs, etc. I use InDesign for most of my print design work. OSX 10.5.8
I don't do any web or video work. I'm not a software developer.
So, I'm ready to install, but there's a bunch of extra elements with CS4 that I THINK would never use - Adobe Air, Adobe Device Central CS4, Adobe Drive CS4, Adobe Extension Manager CS4. It seems like 400 mb of bloat to me.
Any reason to install those extra items?

No, not really. Version Cue only matters in colalborative workgroup environments, AIR and Device Central are web stuff.

Just in case: did you really try using this tool http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html to first eliminate all traces of Reader, and then use the full offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/?

I double-click on event to see all the photos in that event displayed, but all I get is 1 large photo on the edit page. To see the photos in that event, I have to scroll. Need to be able to work with all the photos in that event, not one at a time.

How to copy a database with all the objects and relationship but with no data

I am here for your advise as usual, I want to create a copy of my current database from an existing one on SQL Server 2008r2 Standard Edition, here is what I need, I want all the objects including any relationship between the objects and I do

One option is to run BACKUP/RESTORE, once you have restored you run:

Copy result and paste into a query window do to run. Next:
SELECT 'DELETE ' + quotename(s.name) + '.' + quotename(o.name)
FROM   sys.schemas s
JOIN   sys.objects o ON o.schema_id = s.schema_id
WHERE o.type = 'U'
Run this result until you don't get any more errors.
Run the first query again, but change DISABLE to ENABLE.
This is more long-winding than scripting, particularly if you have lots of data. But you know that you will not make any changes whatsoever to the schema.
The scripting in SSMS generally does it right, I believe, but some items are not scripted by default. If you run BACKUP/RESTORE, you know that you get a faithful copy.
Of course, the best way is to keep your code under version control and take the version control system as your ultimate truth.

I have been experiencing connection issues with loading web pages. It's as if the web pages do not want to load all the way and some times not at all. This has happen with all three of my computers with the same browsers.

There are times when web pages do not want to load fully and other times not at all. They just continue to open up with a blank screen. My routers light flash during this process and then they stop as if no connection is being made. I do know for sure it is not my ISP or internet explorer browser.

I continue to have this problem and have tried all recommendations so far...I notice also when I click on a web site on the taps side of browser once it starts loading however it does not connect, web site comes up just blank while it continues to search. The same thing happens while in an email program with clicking in the email link and page pops up and continues to search for the web site. You have to reload over and over again until it finally locates it and then opens. Should I uninstall the Firefox browser and install again.....?

I upgraded to 4.o and added the fireFTP which I use all the time and it does not work. How can I get this to work?

Hi vbaio, So far so good. Iran Malware antibytes and Spybot search and destroy after updating them both for the latest updates and so far not one of the pop ups .It is mid afternoon here in Australia and tonight will be the biggest test. I will advise you if it starts up again.Spybot actually I think who came up with the actual bug before I did the scans may have solved the problem.These programs are free here. Tweedle. Thanks again

GPS not working all the time, and 3G radio not turning on

Here's the situation in a nutshell. I have done extensive trial and errors trying to troubleshoot my own phone. And by the way, I’m on my 4th Incredible. I have come to the conclusion it’s not my phone, at least for now. When I’m in a Verizon area (towers), my GPS works the best. Locks on to signal within seconds. Ok, where i live we have the Alltel towers yet which are being divested to ATT. So, when i bring up the GPS/Nav/Latitude etc, etc. the GPS never locks on and just sits there searching. Now, if i leave a Verizon coverage with my NAV on it works fine all the way home. Next, i turn off my NAV and wait a few seconds or minutes and then turn it back on, i get nothing. There is something wrong with the towers or something where i live. Does the Incredible download the GPS assistance from the towers to better locate the satellites? Also, most of the time if i do a reboot, i have to place my phone into Airplane mode, wait, then turn it off to get my radio to turn on. I was in a Verizon area this past weekend and restarted my phone like 4-5 times and the 3g Radio would turn on no problem. I think I’m getting close to the problem at hand. I just need some assistance from a techy at Verizon. I hope I explained this thoroughly. As everyone knows this screws up all my location apps to show the wrong location.

Looky what i found. I found this on another forum that a guy figured out. Verizon, please get a patch for this or a permanent fix. We shouldn't have to do this to make the GPS work. My phone doesn't say i'm roaming, but i do live in an Extended Network.

One way to get a GPS lock when Roaming.
Like some others in this thread, I can track myself with the GPS on the satellite map from home (in Verizon service area) to our cabin in NE Pennsylvania (Extended Network in the white area not covered on the Verizon map). The tracking is accurate. It even follows me down the path to the water. But, when I turn off the map so save battery, I can't obtain a GPS lock when I turn mapping back on. GPS Test sees the satellites, but won't lock. By trial and error, I discovered that if I put the phone in Airplane mode and turn it off, (wait a while), and turn it on while still in Airplane mode (Signal Strength 0dBm - Not Roaming - because it doesn't know that it's in Extended Network with radio off), I can get a GPS lock just as quick as I can at home (in Verizon territory - not roaming) - usually less than minute using GPS Test. Once I have the lock, I can turn Airplane mode off and the map and tracking work perfectly (I have 3G and 1X, to download maps, depending on location), and continue to work until I close the map, at which point I have to do the Shutdown in Airplane mode work around.
Answers in this and other forums as well as Verizon and HTC support are all over the map (no pun intended). Verizon says I need a cell signal to lock while HTC says not necessary at all, and others have various solutions. Clearly, the phone is able to obtain a GPS lock without any cell signal since it locks in Airplane mode. It seems to be some sort of software problem in that IF it thinks the phone is Roaming it must be waiting for some sort of A-GPS signal, and won't lock. Also, it won't work if I simply put in Airplane mode without re-booting because it's still in Roaming status. But when it's booted in Airplane mode and it doesn't know it's in a Roaming area, it relies on the internal GPS to get a lock. (For some reason, I have to leave it off for a while for this to work). So the hardware seems to be working fine.
I got this phone to eliminate the need for a separate GPS, and I have figured out how to use it when out of Verizon's area. But it's ridiculous to have to go through the shutdown in Airplane mode, wait a while, and reboot just to get a GPS lock. If Apple can do it, why can't Verizon? It seems like this would be pretty easy to fix by writing a software patch that uses the standalone GPS if a A-GPS signal is not available. Does anyone know if Google is looking into this? Does anyone have any other ideas on how to get the GPS to work without rebooting while Roaming?

The Firefox button is not available on the Mac, this is due to the way that the Mac handles menus.
For the Mac, to access the add-ons manager, in the Tools menu select Add-ons.

Use your backup copy of your old computer to put everything on your new computer, then sync the iphone to that comptuer.

Where does itunes store my playlists on my pc,I can locate my itunes media which contains all the albums and artists but not my playlists?

Im a bit of a tech dummy and am trying to add a playlist to an iphone that is NOT synced with my itunes account, with ipod/ipad this is simple as I can manually manage content, however this feature doesn't work on iphone. I have a program installed which allows me to add to the iphone however I need to add directly from the itunes folder not within itunes. I have created a playlist in itunes to add to this device however I can not locate this folder in my itunes files!! I'm sure I am missing something simple here

iTunes playlists are stored within the library database iTunes Library.itl. Perhaps you need to create a m3u playlist for use with your other software. Right-click on the playlist name in the sidebar for export options.
Or use iTunes to manage the content on the device in the way that it is designed to.

Should be the account you registered your mac with, and/or the account you used during the setup assistant.

Too many unnecessary bells and whistles in apps!

There seems to be too many bells and whistles built into the apps! I have iPad 2, it can take up to 5 minutes for the app to settle down and let me access or read something from Safari! Just when you think everything has been installed, the picture freezes and re arranges itself! Why can't we make this more simpler? I find it frustrating and become angry with all the wasted time and energy taken because someone wanted to build into the app one more "cool" activity or action! It just slows everything down, less actions are more accommodatin! If you want to build "the" app with so much unnecessary activity! Set it up as stand alone, or different app! I'm getting tired of always having to wait because some extra add on has to be installed .... Simplicity!!!!

Let me put this in another light. When you choose to visit say "Huffington Post" internet website, on my iPad, because text boxs, title boxes, picture/video files are embedded, advertising too, all with differing sizes, let alone fonts and "all the bells and whistles" not only fight for space onmy page but the more detail the box the more memory .......... . My point is, as a consumer can a version be made that the text and any relevant material can be quickly adjusted to say tilting my iPad. And do so without wainting for ever for the boxs to find their territory and load their memory! If you have a slow connection some sites take longer to load and use, then other less "gimmicky" sites

I've lost the cd-rom with all the drivers, and I've formated my harddrive! How do I get a new one? Can I download a .bin somewhere? I can't do anything now! I'm on my 2:nd computer writing this.
It's the mobo drivers I need(MSI K8N Neo2 nForce3 Platinum).
