db verion : 11.2.0.3
Discoverer version : 11.1.1.4
Thanks and Regards,

Hi,
You need to install Disco Admin to create and maintain an EUL. Discoverer Administrator and Desktop are part of the same installation and you should always install both. The software download is available from the Oracle Discoverer 11g Fusion Middleware (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/discoverer/downloads/index.html). You install Oracle BI Discoverer Desktop and Discoverer Administrator 11.1.1.3.0 onto Microsoft Windows.

  • Where can i see which user(s) has access to Discoverer Admin or desktop?

    Hello
I am new to a company. Where can i see which employees have access to Discoverer Admin and / or Desktop editions?
So i want to know 2 things:
    1. Who are the discoverer users in the company?
    2. What reports do they have access to?
    thank you

    Hi,
If the user has Discoverer Administrator/User installed on there PC then they will have access to the tools. They will also need Admin or Desktop access to the Discoverer EUL. You can install the Discoverer V5 Business Area and run the EUL Management workbook to see all the Discoverer users, what privileges they have and which workbooks have been shared to the users/roles. See metalink note 556932.1 for details of how to install this Business area which is shipped with Discoverer Admin.

  • Oracle discoverer Administrator and Desktop 'Invalid Username/Password

    Dear all,
None of my users can login to Oracle discoverer Administrator and Desktop. It gives invalid username and password. What could be the problem?

Pl post details of OS, database and Discoverer versions. Is this EUL for an EBS database ? If so, are users checking the "apps user" check box on the login page ?

  • Silent Install w/Admin and Managed Servers

I noticed on versions 11 and 12 of Weblogic, it seems the parameters available for a silent install have been greatly simplified to where it just does a base install.  How would I go about getting it to do a silent install with an Admin server and 2 Managed servers?  Do I need to do an install and update-install or is there a way I can do all this in 1 shot?
    Thanks In Advance
    Nic

An example is given here: Middleware Snippets: Automate WebLogic 12.1.2 Deployment.

  • Problem in installing Discoverer Admin. Edition

During the installation of the admin. edition, an error occured. It prompted that "unbound variable", then I clicked the "OK" button. It would totally stop installation and quited. Does anyone know what is the problem, is the problem of the download file of this website or any others.

    Hi
The easiest way to get a fully working TNSNAMES in a version 4 environment is to use the Net 8 Configuration utility.
    Here's a workflow:
    1. From the Start button, select Start | Oracle for Windows NT | Oracle Net8 Easy Config
    2. When it starts, check Add New Service and in the little box to the right type the name by which you want this connection to be known
    3. Click the Next button
    4. Select TCP/IP (Internet Protocol) and click the Next button
    5. Enter the fully qualified domain name or IP address of the server that contains the database
    6. In Port, enter the port number - it defaults to 1521
    7. Click the Next button
8.In Database SID enter the name of the database, then click the Next button
    9.Click the Test Service button
    10. Provide a username and password for an account on the database, then click the Test button
    11. If you see: Connecting.... The test did not succeed you got the username/password combination wrong or some other part of the setup
    12. When you see: Connecting.... The connection test was successful click the Done button
    13. Click the Next button
    14. Click the Finish button
You should now have a valid TNSNAMES connection for use by Discoverer 4

  • Can CC be installed on laptop and desktop

I do most of my editing on my desktop, but would like to have access occasionally on laptop, especially when traveling. Can it be installed and work on both devices?

    Mike
As Jerrett said, you can install it on a second computer. Here are the specific details:
    Pattie
    Purchased Software:
A single license for Adobe software lets you install the applications on two computers,  but you can only use the software on one computer at any given time. If you want to install the software on a third computer, deactivate the software on the computer on which you will no longer use the software. Then, activate the software on the new computer
You can install most Adobe software on up to two of your computers, with some qualifications.
    Creative Cloud:
If you are using creative cloud, you can install the apps on your primary computer and one backup computer. You will have access to both the Mac OS and Windows versions, so if you have a Mac at home and a PC at work, for example, you can install your applications on both. See the product license agreements page for more information. Read more in the Creative Cloud FAQ

  • Shake EULA: OK to install on laptop and desktop?

I understand the what the end user license agreements for FCS and Logic say about installing these software packages on both a laptop and a desktop computer, but using no more than one at a time.
However, I find the wording in the Shake EULA more confusing. Can I do the same with Shake, i.e. install on both coputers as long as I never launch Shake on both at the same time?
    Thanks,

Only us users here, but I don't think you'll find a lot of problems if you do that...

  • DIscoverer 9i and Windows 7

    Hi, everybody
¿Does anybody know if Discoverer 9i runs with no trouble on Winows 7?

    Hello
Your only chance for getting the Windows version (Admin and Desktop) to work would be to try installing it in XP mode. It definitely will not work in native Windows 7.
Why not take this opportunity to upgrade to 10g and get onto a fully supported version? This would be my recommendation.

  • Discoverer Admin installation error

    Hi,
I am getting this error when installing Discoverer Admin (Business Intelligence Tools 10g 10.1.2.0.0) on my win XP sp1 workstation. It says that it cannot install onto an existing oracle home where oracle database 9.0 or higher database is installed. I do have 9i client and 10g client installed on my workstation. Is there anyway around this without having to uninstall everything?
    Thanks,

    Hey.
I finally solved my own problem. It's not exactly the most elegant way, but I had to trick the installer into thinking this was a fresh install. under c:\program files\oracle\inventory there is a install.platform file. I changed the value in it to some other version from 912. The oui then complained that the inventory could not be found and would not move forward. I then went back and changed the value back to 912 and then clicked next in the oui again. This time it thought this was a fresh installation and I was able to specify another inventory directory. which I did. After that, the install went through. But I did not exit the oui when I modified the file.
    Hope this helps others.
    Thanks,
    Piyush

The bin file should have the JDK with it. The zip file is the one that says that
you need the JDK1.3.x to install.. The problem was that the tmp space on the
Unix machine was to small. When using the information supplied in the install
about creating the extra tmp space seemed to make the install hang. Today I had
the Unix guy increase the default tmp space and the install ran fine. So something
about using that tmp method was not working for me.

    solved it myself:
the installation guide mentions to set the property:
    <application-server
global-jndi-lookup-enabled="true" >in the server.xml in j2ee/home. But it needs to be done in the config of the container where you install the ear files.
