Install EBS 11i on Windows 7

Hi Guys,
I am using laptop which contains windows 7. I think we cann`t install EBS 11i on windows 7.
I have read, we can intall via Virtual m/c with supported OS on windows 7. Windows 7 has come with
vrtual pc which work similer to XP known as XP mode.
Can some one let me know, am i able to intall EBS 11i in XP mode functionality which comes with windows 7.

Installing EBS 11i (11.5.10.2)

Hi All,
I have installed EBS 11i before many times , and each time I install in another server (linux) i encounter different error.
My error now is that the gui window installer just closed suddenly without completing.
I tried to restart it many times (./rapidwiz -restart ) but still the screen window will just close out.
I check the log files and I can see that the installer passed the DB Tier creation. I can start/shutdown the database and the listener. But the application tier has not yet been populated. There is no data yet in the respective directories (prodcomn,prodora,prodappl)

Did you verify that the database was created successfully? From the entries above, it indicates that the JDBC connection cannot be established, and this would happen if there is a missing entry in the hosts file OR the database is down OR the database listener is down. So, please refer to the installation log file and/or alert_<SID>.log file to verify this.

Install EBS 11i using Oracle Database 11g

Dear All,
I'm going to create development environment for EBS 11i using database 11g. As i know, the rapidwiz install pack using Oracle 9i as the default database.
Could I install EBS 11i using database 11g? Is there any documentation for this kind of installation? Or Do i have to Install EBS 11i using the default database then migrate it to Oracle database 11g?

Installing EBS R12 on Windows Vista Basic

I am trying to install EBS R12 media pack on my computer having Windows Vista Basic.
I could have the installation pass 2 steps out of 5.
But while performing the third step, it is failing with the following error:

Post installation Error while installing EBS 11i on Win server 2003

Hi All,
can soembody give the guidens to resolve the below error please....!!!
I have done the below steps while installing
I have been following the below steps to install the EBS 11i,
1.installed in Win20003 server edition
2.VC++ and copyind the link file into windows\system32,
3.GNU make done the path set everything,
4.MKS tool kit,
5IP config and installing MS loopback,
---------->I have not installed the JDK<--------
started the installtion direct from the DVDs,
Pre-Installtion everything was OK,
but after done everything I got struck last min, where the popup window appeared as login page responding but i did wait for 30 min and nothing has
happened.
So closed and I restarted the System and I have restarted process putting 1st DVD and given the command rapidwiz -restart.from command prompt.
and Again its started as a new installtion, and preinstatltion wizard has came.

after above message nothing was happened and I closed this window and restarted the PC and giave the commance rapidwiz -restart from command window from rapidwiz directory from 1st DVD.

[1] If patch 6078836 solves the issue, how to download, as I don't have Oracle SID.
[2] Whether patches are not required if I install it on OEL5 and what should be the right Update version for that ?
[3] Is there any way I could still install on CentOS5.4, applying some rpms, to overcome libdb.so.3 issue ?
I downloaded EBS 11i from e-delivery choosing "on-demand/Linux X86" .

Could you clear my confusions :Off course both Centos and redhat holds same source code, you can try your Installation on centos, but what i recommend is you can get certified OS platform free to download from oracle web http://edelivery.oracle.com then why to waste time on uncertified version of OS if Installation failed.

[2] Whether patches are not required if I install it on OEL5 and what should be the right Update version for that ?Yes, this is an interoperability patch at OS level provided by oracle as pre-requisite patch for Installing oracle applications.
[3] Is there any way I could still install on CentOS5.4, applying some rpms, to overcome libdb.so.3 issue ?yes, you can. But Instead of wasting your time i again recommend you to download OEL from http://edelivery.oracle.com

Help, Install EBS 11i, JSP is not responding

Does anybody have successfully installed EBS R12 on Windows 7 Professional or Home Premium (32 or 64 bit)?
If the answer is yes, please share your experience.
It is not important at this point whether Oracle has certified Windows 7 or not.
I just want to know if this can be done.

F. AmorsoloWindows 7 is not certified as you mentioned above, and I have never heard of any successful installation of 11i/R12 on Windows 7 Professional/Home (32-bit or 64-bit).
You could create a VM, and use a certified OS (Windows or Linux) then install R12.

Oracle Applications 11i being a vast product. You need to first determine what you want to learn in this product.
1. Oracle Applicaitons Technology(Job Role = Apps DBA / Sys admin)
2. Oracle Applications Functional (Job role = Functional Consultant)
Once you decide the path, it is easier to find relevant information. About the modules you are learn via the Apps Documentation available on OTN. Also search for blogs dedicated to Apps technology or functional areas that interest you.
The other way is to join an Institute which trains for a specific job role you are looking for.

Opatch error while applying Windows patch 6 (9.2.0.8.0) on EBS 11i Database

Hi,
I am upgrading our EBS 11i database (9.2.0.5.0) to 9.2.0.8.0 by following note : 216550.1 (Interoperability Notes Oracle Applications Release 11i with Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0)).
I have installed Opatch 2617419 and then installed 6880880 (p6880880_101000_WINNT.zip) (OUI patch).
While applying Windows patch 6 (5916268) ,using opatch I am getting the following error:

OPatch returns with error code = 150
Any help to resolve the issue is appreciated.
I saw note +'OPATCH_JAVA_ERROR=OPatch Exception While Trying to Check for Mini Patchset' while applying patch using opatch 1.0.0.0.x [ID 971783.1].+
There are no '&' in the inventory file. There are a lot of '<'. I dont know if this note is applicable.

Hi,
I am following section 2 only.
In Section 2, # 7 we have to apply latest Oracle Patching Tool (OPatch) patch 2617419 and in # 8 we have to apply additional 9.2.0.8 RDBMS patches ( in our case it is Windows patch 6.
I am getting issue while applying Windows patch 6 using opatch.

I ordered a Lenovo laptop with 500GB just for installing EBS R12. It came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit..............Is there any article with step by step procedure?? What are your comments on Installing on Win 7 64bit??
