Install EM in weblogic 10.3.4

Hello.
Is possible install EM in weblogic when it have adf runtime installed (installed adf runtime from jdeveloper)?
Regards, Marcelo

Hi Marcelo
If you want to install Enterprise Manager (EM), first you need to install a full blow SOA/BPM Software on top of your existing Weblogic Server installation. EM is part of Oracles SOA Fusion Middleware and this EM admin console is mainly used to adminster all the soa fusion middleware stuff like soa, bpm, bi, etc etc and they mostly refer to soa servers.
By default, for adf applications all you need is just pure Weblogic Server and there is no need of any SOA/BPM Software. But if you really need EM, then you need this SOA/BPM. Now remember that SOA/BPM license are different and you had to pay for this software in addition to your weblogic license.
Once you install SOA/BPM on top of Weblogic Server. You use Config Wizard, create a Domain, and at this point, you select one more project facet named something like "Oracle Enterprise Manager ....". And you can access this EM using http://adminhost:adminport/em. And use same admin privileges of console.
Just curious, why you need EM for adf applications running on your weblogic server.

  • Issue while installing FatWire on weblogic server

    I was trying to install CS with Weblogic as the Application server.
    During the installation of CS, I faced an issue while integrating with LDAP. In log it showed "Could not connect to the application server.Error in creating LDIF file.
    I had given the valid credentials.
    Have anyone faced this issue previously, if so please guide me thorugh.
    And also, Is it mandatory to use LDAP ?
    Thanks,
    Rahul Nair

    It sounds like the application server was turned off whilst you were running the LDAP configuration tool. The tool needs the application server to be running.
    It's not mandatory to have LDAP integration with CS, from what I have seen most existing customers don't use it. There are also some performance benefits to avoiding LDAP integration.
    If you do want LDAP integration then you don't need to configure it immediately after install. The LDAP configuration tool can be run separately, e.g. after you are happy the fresh install is working as expected.

  • How to install Workshop for WebLogic and WebLogic Portal?

    Hi All,
    I am new to Weblogic Portal. I would like to start learning Oracle Weblogic Portals..
    Can anyone please guide me, how to install Workshop for WebLogic and WebLogic Portal?
    As per the ""Tutorials – Getting Started with WebLogic Portal"" (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13155_01/wlp/docs103/tutorials/setup_dev_env.html)
    we need to install the Workshop for WebLogic and WebLogic Portal.
    Please suggest me where should i get the required environments/IDE?
    Thanks,
    Harish.

    Hi Harish
    1. If this is your first time with Weblogic Portal, I would recommend to download the latest Weblogic Portal Software Rel 10.3.2 from this bottom link. Check Accept Radio button, for windows download windows installer. Its about 1 GB file. This software includes Eclipse IDE, Weblogic Server and Weblogic Portal.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/wlp/index.html
    2. During the installation process, make sure at one point you select Custom mode (NOT default Typical mode). In next following screens you will see all bundles checked EXCEPT for Samples. So make sure you check Samples Check box both under Weblogic Server and Weblogic Portal. Then proceed. This will install full Weblogic Workshop (Eclipse IDE), Weblogic Server and Weblogic Portal. This is the good installation package. Also it will install samples for Portal and Server. If you select all default typical mode, it will NOT install samples. You can install samples later on also, but its good at installation time itself you select custom and check Samples also.
    3. WLP 10.3.2 uses Eclipse IDE. If you are familiar with Eclipse IDE this should be helpful. Otherwise also, its ok.
    4. For learning WLP, in Eclipse IDE, you need to create Portal EAR Project, then Portal Web Project. Inside portal web project create simple jsp hello world portlets and a simple portal.
    5. For Deploying and Testing Portal application you need to create Portal Domain using config wizard. You can see this from Start -> Programs -> Oracle Weblogic Portal shortcut -> Weblogic Server -> Tools -> Configuration Wizard.
    6. You can start Workshop IDE from Start -> Program Files -> Oracle Weblogic Portal ...-> Eclipse For Weblogic 10.3.2
    Here are the links for quick start guide for portal development. Please do refer them.

  • Installing LC on Weblogic - where to start?

    Hello!
    Please,  a newbie in trouble here!
    I have installed LC several times using the Turnkey installer and using JBoss, MySQL, etc.
    Now I have to install it on Weblogic - where do I start?
    Should I run the same installer I would use for JBoss?
    Or is there another file I should run?
    Please, help!
    Marcos

    Thank you!
    I've found the download page and seen the files are over 2 GB.
    Does the file include Weblogic or will it install on an environment where Weblogic should already be installed?
    Thanks!

  • Can PeopleBooks 8.51 be installed on existing WebLogic server?

    Is it possible to install PeopleBooks 8.51 on a existing Weblogic server which he used in setting up PIA? If yes, is there any specific documentation available for doing it?

    Please refer the below document for PT8.51.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E18373_01/psft/acrobat/PeopleTools_8.51_Installation_Oracle.pdf
    PeopleSoft PeopleBooks 8.51 is supported on the same web server platforms and operating systems as the
    PeopleSoft Pure Internet Architecture (PIA) for PeopleSoft PeopleTools 8.51.
    Note. You must install the Oracle WebLogic that is bundled with the Online Documentation Library
    Site (ODLS) installer. Using a different Oracle WebLogic installation, such as that used for PeopleSoft
    PeopleTools, may cause issues with security roles or policies.

  • How to install and configure WebLogic 10.3 to use 64-bit JDK?

    Hi,
    Is there a preferred/supported way to configure WebLogic to use the 64-bit JRockit that comes with JRockit Mission Control?
    I can't find any official documentation about how to configure WebLogic to use a 64-bit JDK. From other forum posts I can tell we need to use the 64-bit JRockit that is bundled with JRockit Mission Control (available at [http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jrockit/index.html]) but then we are kind of stuck - the configure script which let me select a JDK for a domain doesn't seem to let me re-configure an existing domain, and I can't find anything within the admin console that would let me set the JDK to use.
    I was able to rename the existing jrockit_160_05 directory to e.g. jrockit_160_05_original and then rename the jrmc directory to "jrockit_160_05", effectively taking the place of the JDK being used but this seemed like a bad way to do it. I also found via Google this page: [http://java.sodeso.nl/application-servers/bea-weblogic/how-can-i-change-the-jdk-installation-that-weblogic-uses] which basically says to modify the JAVA_HOME environment variable in the start scripts, but this seems like the same thing.
    With the plethora of products and the different ways they are bundled, combined with all the documentation about everything, I thought I would find something but I keep coming up blank. Does anyone have suggestions or pointers?
    Thanks,
    KaJun

    Make sure your environment configuration is supported here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/fusion_certification.html
    Then, you need to have the correct 64bit JDK installed. Sounds like you have done that.
    Then download and run the generic platform installer as described here with your 64bit supported JDK:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/doc.1111/e14142/start.htm#i1077535
    Notice how the link you post has the generic installer for all the 64bit JVM rows, but the other installer for the 32bit JVMs on the 64bit OS?

  • How to install TopLink_CMP_2_0 for Weblogic 10.3.4 (11g Release 1)

    Hi
    I am trying to migrate EJB2.x code from JBoss to Weblogic 10.3.4.
    The entity bean description in my weblogic-ejb.jar looks like below.
    <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    <ejb-name>UserProfile</ejb-name>
    <entity-descriptor>
    <persistence>
    <persistence-use>
    <type-identifier>WebLogic_CMP_RDBMS</type-identifier>
    <type-version>7.0</type-version>
    <type-storage>META-INF/weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml</type-storage>
    </persistence-use>
    </persistence>
    </entity-descriptor>
    <local-jndi-name>ejb/LocalUserProfile</local-jndi-name>
    </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    I get error Error while reading 'META-INF/weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml' when deploying to server as I posted in another thread at Error in deploying entity beans - migration from JBoss to Weblogic 10.3.4
    The information on the page http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_05/web.1013/b13593/depcr008.htm tells that the supported persistent type for EJB2.0 is TopLink_CMP_2_0.
    When I modify above entity description accordingly, the deployment throws exception that "*TopLink_CMP_2_0*" is not installed.
    Can someone suggest me how to install the persistent type? Also please let me know if my approach to migration is correct.

  • Need install instructions for weblogic on 2008 64bit
