Install Error: [0008] loading Free MAQ software Irish & Portuguese dialogs

As it says - every time I try to install or re-install, the process gets to 50% and then abends with the 0008 message
I'm on a 32Gb Playbook, running 2.0.1.358

OK - came back with both re-installed, but loading them just brings the black "Recent Applications" screen.
Attempt to delete and re-install, same 0008 message

  • Install Error 0008 with WebWorks App

I have a problem with an app I wrote for BB10 and Playbook.
The app is accepted in the Blackberry World without any problems. But now the clients are complaining, that they are getting an install error 0008 after buying that app and installing on their playbook.
I myself now also bought my own app and had to discover, that I got the same error on my playbook.
At first this app was ported from Android, but the actual version was completly rewritten using HTML5 and WebWorks.
Searching the internet, I found, that it could be a signing error and I had to verify the signing with "blackberry-signer -verify <BAR_File>.bar". I did the verifying and it told me "Info: Bar verified" - so the bar-file should be ok.
If I deploy that bar-file to my playbook, it's working without any problems. But buying and installing from the Blackberry World gives the install error 0008 - and it doesn't matter, whether the app is already on the the playbook or not and if the developer mode is switched on or off.
I hope, that someone has an idea, whats going wrong here and can help me.
    Thanks a lot from Germany

  • Install Error 0008 (Urgent)

    Hi,
We rolled an update out to one of our Playbook products yesterday and since then we have been contacted by a number of users informing us that they are receiving an "Instal Error: [0008]". We have confirmed that the error does indeed occur by testing this ourselves. Could you please let us know if there is a solution to this problem as we want to keep our customers happy. Note that our OS version is 1.0.7.2942
    Thanks

  • Chess Online Install Error:[0008]

    Good day,
I am getting an install error when I try to install Chess Online for Blackberry PlayBook from 1cwirelessLLC.  I requested help from them, but did not get anything that is fixing it.  Any advice?  I see other forums require it be flagged back to the developer.  Thoughts?

    Hey aldo_corleone,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
This error can be caused by low memory on the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet .  Follow the steps below to check your free memory:
On the top right corner of the home screen, click the Options cog.
Click About in the left menu.
Select Hardware from the View information about your tablet drop down.
    Check the Free Storage value.
If this value is very low, like 1 MB, then connect the BlackBerry PlayBook to a computer and move multimedia files off like Voice Notes, Videos, Music, Documents, etc.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

    Frequency
    Webmaster's HTML Editor
There were a few others but I've deleted them and don't remember the names.
Any idea on how to fix or get around this problem??  I've already tried a hard reset and a complete wipe and reinstall.

I made some space by removing some unused apps and the update installed with no problems.

  • (EPG Install) Error while loading image

    Hi,
I am facing "ORA-22288: file or LOB operation FILEOPEN failed" error while running apex_epg_config step. But all the steps before that (i.e. APEX Install [@apexins users users temp /i/] and change admin password) went all fine.
I am trying to install APEX 4.1 on "Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production".
I went through [url https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=9673913]this thread. But I am not passing /apex directory (apex directory is under "C:/Ash/Technical/Database/Oracle/apex4.1") , here is the outcome:

    filelist_xml xmltype := xmltype(bfilename(upload_directory_name,file_list),nls_charset_id('AL32UTF8'));
The error clearly suggest that the there is an issue with access my directory or file in that directory.
And I believe the 2nd error "ORA-31001: Invalid resource handle or path name "/images"", will go itself once the first one is resolved.
I went through the documentation and other forum threads, but I am stuck with this EPG install, it may be very silly thing that I may be missing, but any help in this matter would be highly appreciated.

Thanks Andy and Kiran for taking time to respond.
Andy, "@apex_epg_config.sql C:/Ash/Technical/Database/Oracle/" will not solve the problem, neither changing directory's name from apex4.1 to apex_4.1_en, as my directory structure till images is: "C:\Ash\Technical\Database\Oracle\apex4.1\apex\images".
Kiran, sorry but I do not understand the difference between what I have written what you mentioned above.
Though I understood the issue, when you see the apex underlying code (apex_epg_config_core.sql) it is actually creating a directory object ('APEX_IMAGES') in the database. While I was trying to refer the directory on my local windows PC ('C:\Ash\Technical\Database\Oracle\apex4.1\apex\images'). I then logged into the LINUX server and ran the command and it all went fine, see the response below:
    SQL> @apex_epg_config /opt/oracle/product/11.2.0/db1

  • Lion install errors out with msg that software could not be verified, it may be corrupted or tampered with during download. Re-downloads produced the same error.

Tried a number of downloads of Lion and none of them would get by the error in the subject line. Help pls?

I was in your same situation with 14 downloads and 14 attempts.
You have to make sure that your Mac is booting into 64 bit mode.  You can make sure of this by going into System Preferences and scrolling down to 'Software' and making sure that you are booding with 64 bit Kexts.
If not, restart while holding the 6 and 4 keys down until you see the spinning gear wheel and try installng again.
BUT, what I also did was to go into Applications, click on the Lion installer, Get Info, and give yourself custom priviliges to Read And Write.
I did this simultaneously, and I don't know what function did it, but it worked for me, with no further downloads of the installer.
    Good luck!

  • Error loading Blackberry Desktop Software

I have XP Home Edition Version 2002 SP3. I tried installing the newest version of BDM ver. 6.2 which I downloaded from RIM. The received the error while loading: "Balckberry Desktop Software has encountered an error and must close..."
I uninstalled and removed all registry entries and RIM folders and and also used a system cleaner (CCleaner). I reinstalled again and the error still occurs. RIM.destophelper.exe does load to system tray. There are no error codes of any kind associated with this failure to load.
Any help trouble shooting this would be appreciated.

Thanks again for the quick reply.
Is the BlackBerry connected the whole time when you're trying to open BlackBerry Desktop Software?
And just to clarify you did perform all these steps when you uninstalled the previous software: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02206
Because that error will appear if some old DTM files are still present on the computer.

Remote location, 7kbs d'load speed, 10 days to d'load Lion, only software updates are through the App Store. Why can't we d'load and install outside the Cloud anymore? Some of us can't use the cloud and never will be able to.

That is true - I apologize for not being specific - what I was mainly referring to is iLife applications. I have a notice on the App Store that says 3 apps need updates, I look at the apps and they are huge so since my connection is so slow I use my work connection and d'load the files from support to my Windows machine and carry them home, once d'loaded my MacAir states it cannot install, the update must come from the App Store.
I do the same thing for large Leopard and Lion files and I can install them without error, it is just the App Store files that the system stops.

  • Userinit.exe Error when loading BlackBerry Software

Hopefully, someone has come across this.
I have loaded the BlackBerry software on a new Acer laptop and after rebooting, I get the following error:
The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812aeb.
I thought at first that it was a memory error with the new laptop. So, I replaced the ram and I still received the same problem.
I then returned the laptop and received another and it's giving me the exact same error message.
There are no events in any of the errors logs.
    Any thoughts?

  • Error while loading shared libraries after installing cleartype fonts.

    Hi there.!
Since the default fonts of Arch looked quite ugly on my LCD, I read the Fonts wiki and installed cleartype packages from AUR.But now, when I try switching to runlevel 5 (I use GDM by the way), it throws up following error:
/usr/sbin/gdm-binary: error while loading shared libraries: libcairo.so.2 : cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.
I didn't edit the pkgbuilds in any way.Running "locate libcairo.so" doesn't show up anything either.
    Any help guys.?

Well you have two choices, use windows XP or google for 'fonts linux ugly'
or there is a search feature on this forum, it works well.
setting a right DPI will probably make your fonts look the best no matter what packages you install or ~/.fonts file you use.
