Install error on enterprise manager, why???

Hello guys,
I have been trying to install Oracle enterprise edition on a 32 bit version windows. Every time install reaches enterprise manager that, I guess, uses oc4j it gives me
some sort of I/O error when trying to create or read some file in this location.
When installation reaches here:
Copying file for 'Oracle Enterprise Manager Console DB 10.2.0.1.0'
Then the error pops up with these wordings:
I/O error in file C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\oc4j\j2ee\oc4j_applications\applications\em.ear
Click 'Help' for more information
Click 'Retry' to try again.
Click 'Ignore' to ignore this error and go on.
Click 'Cancel' to stop this installation.
I am using Windows XP Professional SP2 with 512MB RAM.
Does anyone has any idea what this error means? I have even reformatted my machine twice to make sure there are no coflicts. I downloaded Oracle Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) for Microsoft Windows two times to make sure there are no errors in the downloaded file. If some could tell me what I am missing, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

I just want to share my experience. I have installed the same oracle version on windows XP.

When I tried to download the oracle executable, It got downloaded but not completely. It's size was around 150 MB something. Then I asked my friend to download from another location, he got success.
May be at the site itself em.ear file has an error (Not sure). Did you copy the software in hard disk or installing it from the CDROM ? If not try copying the software into Hard drive and install. Let me know the details further.

  • Ho to install the "BC4J Enterprise Manager Bean" in Application Server 10g

    Hi
I'd like to monitor my BC4J Application installed on a 10g Application Server. According to the help system I can find this information on the Enterprise Manager Website of the 10g Application Server: open the OC4J (not "home" in my case), open "Administration" tab, click on link "BC4J". After entering the OC4J Admin password you should come to a page where you can monitor BC4J-Pools and so on.
If I try this on my (custom created) OC4J I get an error message that I should install the "BC4J Enterprise Manager Bean". What is this? I installed the BC4J.EAR Application, but to no avail. However: It works well on the default OC4J "home", but unfortunately my application is on a different OC4J :(
Can anyone give me a hint, how to install the "BC4J Enterprise Manager Bean"? Can anyone point me to some documentation on this?
    Thanks.

BC4J Enterprise Manager Bean is the bean to manage the bc4j framework in the oc4j instance. By default, it is only pre-installed by home instance. For all other instances, you have to do it yourself.
You can use the EM to deploy this bean to the oc4j instance you want, the ear file is located in your iAS_HOME\BC4J\oem directory.

  • How to install the Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Tuning ?

    Hi,
How to install the Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Tuning with the Oracle Tuning Pack
    Release 9.0.1
And where to get download this.
    Thank u..!

The only way you can get 9iR1 release software is by asking it to your Oracle representative. The oldest 9i release available for public download is 9iR2.
You could try the administrative 9iR2 client, it can work with 9iR1 releases.

Just completely uninstalled everything and tried again. The problem seems to have disappeared.
I can't be sure, but suspect one of the following fixed it:
    - I had JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 installed to the same Oracle Middleware home. This could have been where the conflicting library was coming from. Second time around I didn't install JDeveloper.
    - When I reinstalled WebLogic, I unchecked 'Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse'
    - When I reinstalled WebLogic, I didn't install the Oracle JRockit JDK

  • Error on Enterprise Manager 11g login screen

I have Oracle 11g installed on a Windows 2008 Server and I'm running into a problem trying to log in to my Enterprise Manager screen. The screen loads just fine, but when I put in the username and password and hit login, the status wheel at the top spins like it's going to log in but instead returns me to the EM login screen.
I've done some troubleshooting already but I have no idea where else to look. It isn't local because I'm not the only one in the office getting this error, it isn't my installation process because this isn't our only server, but it is the only one exibiting this error. I know there is a known issue with IE8, but from what I've read this isn't the same issue (the known issue is that the page just continues to load indefinately). I've tried 'emctl start agent', and it seems to start fine, but when I run 'emctl status agent' it continues to come back with 'agent not running.' I've tried using just the IP address, as well as the server name (DNS isn't set up on these servers) with the same results.
Anybody out there have any other ideas?

20.1.4 Limitations on Viewing XML Data on the Audit Trail Page with Internet Explorer 7
If you are using Internet Explorer 7, and click the view XML document link on the Audit Trail page in Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control Console, data is not displayed. Instead, you are prompted to save or open the page. If you select to open the file, no data is displayed and you are again prompted to save or open the file. Instead, you must save the XML document and view it separately in a text editor.
As a workaround, use Mozilla FireFox to view the data directly after clicking the view XML document link.
This is the limitation that we are aware of. Login should work with IE7 for EM. Please double check your settings.

  • Error running Enterprise Manager Configuration Assistant

    Dear all, another problem.
I've installed a Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 in a machine with Oracle Database 10g R2. After the installation process I started to create a Oracle Database because I hadn't done this with the Oracle Server installation process. So, everything was going fine till almost the end of the creation, when I got a message showing it hadn't been possible to configure the Enterprise Manager due to the following error:
    SEVERE: Failed to allocate port(s) in the specified range(s) for the following process(es): JMS [5540-5559],RMI [5520-5539],Database Control [5500-5519],EM Agent [3938] | [1830-1849]

The message said I could do it using emca script later. I execute that script using

Does anybody know how I can fix it and run the emca? I've tryed some google searches but I didn't have any luck.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi schavali
I'll try to explain better what's going on with this database Im configuring. So, I installed OEL 5 from the zero, in a new machine, to install Oracle DB Server 10g R2 later on. I did the first step and the second one, which were Install OEL 5 with the packages needed and Oracle Database Server 10g R2. After these installations I went to create a database (I called it mki with SID mki). OK? So, when everything was done, almost at the end of the database creation I got a message that Enterprise Manager failed because it wasnt possible to allocate ports in the specifics ranges for JMS RMI Database Control and Em Agent.
When I run netca I got a message saying the Listener could not be started because another software was using the port 1521.
I did what you suggested. Ignored the listener port and tryed to create manually those ports necessary to run emca.
    In the terminal, I typed:
    $. emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create -JMS_PORT 5540 -RMI_PORT 5520 -DBCONTROL_HTTP_PORT 5505 -AGENT_PORT 1830
So, the problem is, I didnt get to create any of those ports. I tryed every single port number that wasnt listed as free in /etc vi services and I could not go through. I tryed as a oracle user and with root as well. When I type a port that is not listed in the services, sometimes the error I get says that emca cannot create that port because is out of the range.
Following the procedure to OEL 5 installation, I read it's necessary to select all the packages neeed by Oracle DB 10g R2 and it's also necessary to leave all others unselected. I didnt do that, I installed almost all the packages listed there in the installation. Could be that the problem? That is, if I install OEL 5 again with just the packages needed by Oracle DB could I go through Oracle Enterprise Manager Configuration Assistant? It's just a doubt.
Thanks a lot for your attention
