Install Errors - PSE11 on Macbook Air
Ok, after a marathon session with Support last night and some renewed attempts tonight I am close to giving up with this one!
It's a Macbook Air running 10.7.5 and PSE11 is a retail boxed version from Amazon.
I have tried:
- Installing from Remote Disc
- Installing from Copied Files from the Disc
- Installing Downloaded Trial Version
- Installing as Trial or Serial Code
- Creating new Admin User
- Changing Default Install Directory
- Checking/Changing Permissions on Install Directories
- Running First Aid on HDD
- Mac Safe Boot Mode
- Reinstalling Air
The main error in every scenario is:
Payload: {64191879-379D-4ADF-9D1E-929FC71E7218} Elements 11 Organizer 11.0.0.0 -----------
ERROR: DW030: Custom Action for payload {64191879-379D-4ADF-9D1E-929FC71E7218} Elements 11 Organizer 11.0.0.0 returned error. Failing this payload.
There is then a cascade of module install fails I assume because Organiser didn't install right.
Insterestingly the installer for the Trial Version of Premiere Elements bundled with the discs fails at the same step too.
I downloaded a Trial Version of PSE 10 and that installed without issue. Subsequent attempts to install # 11 failed.
Would appreciate any pointers. Installed perfect on W7 laptop...

I had previously tried running the cleaner tool - it lists nothing in the installed program list but still enables the "Clean All" button. Also tried deleting Adobe related folders manually with no joy.
Tonight I uninstalled the PSE 10 trial I had put on last night, ran the cleaner, deleted all Adobe related folders and files in Library>Application Support>Adobe (apart from Flash).
And it worked!
I am sure we went through all the cleaning steps previously, I wonder if the PS10 install>uninstall process did anything.
Anyway, I'm up and running! Thanks for your replies Barbara!

Yes, anything that includes torrent in the offer. In particular Bit-torrent. Quite often this will be associated with Softonic and Cnet, both of whom are known for injecting malware into your system. Avoid them both for anything.

Thank you so much.Is the USB devices a USB2 or USB3 device? Please run Disk Utility Repair. In some cases, re-installing OS X (which does not modify your files) also addresses this issue.

Recently, I installed Yosemite on my MacBook Air. After that I had no sound. Not even the start up chime. In Sound preferences there are no input devices and no output devices. I have had three meetings with Apple support with no results. Can anyone help? This seems to be a regular problem.
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
5. Reinstall Yosemite from Scratch:
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.

indicates there is a missing library on your system. What problems were you having before that caused you to delete Safari? How did you delete it?
You're best bet in this case is to re-install the OS. While doing a re-install will not normally harm your user data having a good working backup in cases like this is essential. -
Solution to install Windows 7 on Macbook Air MID-2013 after 3 weeks of test, make with ISO image a usb key 2.0, It works!
1. Select Partition4: Bootcamp. You should see advanced Options.
2. Click Format and convert the partition to NTFS.
3. Click Next.

But be aware not all of the latest and greatest versions are ported to MacOSX. Perhaps the latest version you can run is 10g (last I saw it was).
Oracle intalls are hungry beasts with complex installs, and the installed subpackages in Mac are required for Oracle due to "compiling" that occurs during install. -
