Install_flashplayer11x64ax_gtbd_aih.exe  "cannot contact reliable source" error

I am using Win 7 64 bit.  I am using a Dell precision T7500.  Trend anti-virus.
I can download other programs from other sites at a normal rate.  When I try to download the installer on both IE9 and Firefox my xfer rate drops to 24kbs or lower.  Right now trying to download the subject exe I am at 1.65 kb/s.  I run the program and it asks me to update auto, don't or ask to update.  Then it tries to download adobe flash 11.  I have multiple adobe products and every single one of them takes milleniums to update (adobe Master collection CS5.5).  Trying to run this install application gives me the "cannot contact reliable source".  downloading a later version of adobe drops me to under 25 kb/s as well.  Been working on this issue for months now and my customer is getting frustrated and so am I.  Any thoughts?

You can download the executable installers for your system from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#Ins tall_in_a_firewall_proxy_server_environment

  • Flash Player will not download past 47% - "cannot contact reliable source" error everytime

So just as the title states - I uninstalled Flash on my computer because it was giving me trouble. Now, everytime I try to redownload Flash for Firefox - it will not go past 47% download and the "Cannot contact reliable source" error comes up every single time. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit and I have Charter Security Suite for Antivirus if that helps.
Never had this problem before when I downloaded Flash and now this is just plain stupid.

F-Secure said that Adobe needs to submit the URL and IP addresses to them for removal from this blacklist.
That's a two way street. My brother used TrendMicro for about four years before he got rid of it. TrendMicro's stance was "We build our product and update it. The rest of the world can keep up with what we do." When he was no longer able to update QuickBooks because of TrendMicro, he uninstalled it. They told him it was Intuit's responsibility to update their (TrendMicro's) IP database. That kind of arrogance is why Apple has surpassed Microsoft in recent years as the #1 tech company in the world. People won't keep using something that continually doesn't work, like Windows Vista and now 8 - Okay, 8 is more compatible than Vista was but it's far less user friendly UNLESS you're on a touch screen tablet, which means they NEVER should have developed it for desktop and laptop use.
I worked for Intuit from 2003 to 2006 and dev people in Mountian View ran me through the update process for their websites. There are protocols that remain constant that should NOT blacklist a new update from a trusted primary, secondary and tertiary domain that's properly written. It's what prevents hack sites (like... just an example: "xxx.porn.adobe.com") from getting onto a whitelist. Any GOOD antivirus company will have databases that maintain that primary ptrotocol. If they don't they're doing things bassackwards.
I spent six years testing all kinds of software for compatibility, including several antivirus apps (but not F-secure). After all that, I made a rule for myself:
ANY software that interferes with other software, especially software that I use frequently, is gone. If there's a more compatible replacement, I'll use it instead... if not, I'll learn to get by without it.
I do graphic  and web design by trade, and anything that hinders productivity is a liability. Be it photoshop plugins that crash the app, A/V that screws with FTP, or whatever.

  • Flash Player Error: "Cannot contact reliable source"

    Hello,
I've been trying to update the Flash player on my computer, but I keep returning the same error--"Cannot contact reliable source."
    My computer is:
    Windows 7
    32 bit
    Flash Version 11.2.202.235
I've tried to install on both IE9 and Firefox, but it keeps stopping at 46% and failing. Any idea what I can do to fix this?
    Thank you!

I'm sorry you're encountering this issue.  Are you behind a firewall that requires a proxy setup?  Would you mind doing the following steps:
    Download the Flash Player installer
Open a command prompt and navigate to the installer location (eg. "cd c:\users\username\downloads\")
    Run the installer, using a “/debug”.argument  (eg. “install_flashplayer11x32ax_chrd_aih.exe /debug”)
Once the installer runs and the error is reproduced, a file named “host.developer.log” will be created in your system’s temp folder.
You can quickly access the temp folder by clicking on Start > Run, then type "%temp%".
Locate the "host.developer.log" file and either post the contents in a reply or send directly [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • During Adobe Flash 11 install, I received the error "cannot contact reliable source." Help?!

While streaming videos on YouTube and Hulu, I noticed a signifant amount of lag and buffering.  In the past I've resolved this issues by updating my Flash player (even though I typically am on the newest version).  Today I tried to install a Adobe Flash 11 and I received the error, "Cannot contact reliable source" amongst a few other errors (I cannot recall what they said).  I went to the troubleshooting section, uninstalled my current Adobe Flash, and tried to download version 11.  I keep getting the aforementioned errror.  Now rather than a lag time and buffer issue, I cannot watch any videos at all since my Flash player was uninstalled and I cannot download the new version.  I'm currently on a relatively new iMac with OS X version 10.8.4.  I don't think there is problem with my actual computer.  Can anyone help?
PS: I have an unhealthy affinity for catching up on terrible TV shows on Sundays so I'm saddened by my inability to watch Hulu Plus.

    Try this installer: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_playe r_11_osx.dmg

  • Cannot contact Reliable Source IE9 Norton

Every security setting is turned to its lowest setting on IE9.  Every single Norton setting is turned off, every one.  No file scanning is taking place.
Nevertheless, the scroll bar goes to 12%, sits there, looks stupid, and then the message appears "Cannot contact reliable source".
I set Norton to recognize the file as a trusted file.  No difference.
Is Adobe deciding to make these downloads impossibly difficult as a business strategy?  Never in my decades of using computers (I've been doing so since 1972) have I encountered such a ridiculous procedure.
And I'm supposed to pay $39 for stupidty?  Why, as far as I'm concerned, Adobe should be fined for the idiocy it is doing to its customers.  Even having to close the browser at the right time (I never get that far) is the dumbest procedure I've ever seen.  Or is this part of a strategy to sell Macs?

I got flash to install by saving the file then right clicking on the file then choose run as administrator.
I do not have antivirus installed yet so the problem is not from that.
Possibly this problem is coming from:
IE is not your default browser. ??
    Hope this helps.
