Install flex demo plugin on OSX

OS X 10.4.x, java 1.5.0_06, Eclipse 3.2
The flex installer, helpfully, informs me that my Eclipse
folder neither contains Eclipse v3.2 or the configuration/
directory.
Is there a workaround for this?

please help me out as early as possible...... :-)

  • How do I install Mavericks without invoking the OSX Server Plugin?

How do I perfrom a clean install of Mavericks from the Recovery Partition without it automatically installing, and then invoking or executing the OSX Server Plugin that ultimately results in rendering open directory operable as well as the server.  I have ignored this continously, but the other day I went into the terminal and typed ARP -s that lists the shortname for the host of my MacBook Pro and it gave a totally different name than what I had given it in the wi-fi network interface under the WINS tab. More importantly, I do not want to install open directory nor the osx server plugin as it opens up more complexity than I want to deal with.  Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.  BTW, below are the steps I performed for installing Mavericks.
    1. Powered on the MacBook Pro and then hit the Option key.
    2. This took me into the Recovery Partition, whereby I went into the Disk Util and erased or formatted the hard-drive.
    3. I then clicked out of the Disk Utility and went into the Recovery Mode by clicking on reinstall the current OS.
    4. I went through all the prompts and the system downloaded a current version of Mavericks.
    5. After completion, I turned on my Macbook Pro and went through the prompts to install Mavericks.
    6. This is all I did, and I didn't download the OSX plugin nor invoke it in the new version of the Operating System.
I just assumed that it was a standalone version until I found the server for osx running with open directory invoked, the server invoked, along
with other components relative to a new standalone version.
Again, my question is simple: How can I reinstall Mavericks without it downloading and automatically
iinvoking the components as described above?

Hi. Because both Mavericks and Windows 8 are still new, they may not be free of error. Apple needs more time to perform more tests to ensure that these two different OS's will work properly without getting in conflicts. If it's posdible, I highly recommand you to downgrade back to Lion or Mountain Lion and install Windows 7 (if you have a copy of it). In my experience, all advises from Genius Bar members and computer articles confirm that  Windows 7 will work on Macs with Lion OS. It should also work on Mountain Lion. Besides Boot Camp, you could try to virtualize Windows OS and its applications by using VirtualBox, CrossOver and other VMs. I already have an Oracle VirtualBox but I would like to try Boot Camp since it allows me to enjoy almost all Windows features that may be limited in VMs.

  • How to install Flex plugin for Eclipse?

    Hello All,
I am a new user of Flex.
I would like to install Flex Framework as part of Eclipse, but I have installation problems with it
I have downloaded and installed the plugin from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/search/index.cfm?term=Eclipse+plugin&loc= en_us&siteSection=products%3Aflex.html
But when I am trying to create a new Flex project, I don't see the possibilities that are shown in
are shown here (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/videotraining.html) in the lecture "Using Flash Builder" of day one (minute 5:33).
File -> New -> Flex Project (I don't see the "Flex Project" name and other related options).
Your help will be more than appreciated,
    Thanks in advance,

  • Installing FLEX Plugin With MyEclipse Plugin

Install Europa first. Install FLEX 3.0 plugin next ang then
MyEclipse plugin. If you don't follow this order then there may be
features missing from FLEX because the when selecting the Eclipse
directory for the FLEX install, you may select the wrong target
folder as your Eclipse Root folder. I haven't done an exhastive
study on this, but just repaired an install in this manner. Many of
us Java programmers use MyEclipse because of Spring, or build
capabilities that are built into it. Hopefully, this may help
    someone down the road.

    Hi
Thank you for providing this workaround.

  • How to install Flex SDK in IBM RAD?

    Hi All,
I'm new to Flex and facing some trouble in installing flex 4.6 sdk in my existing IBM RAD application.
There are few flex files that are included in the new release and I need to work on those files (test/debug) to make sure that existing application is not affected with these files.
I have installed Flash Player and latest Flash Builder 4.0 and 4.6 plugin on my system for this purpose.
The Flex SDK, however, I'm not able to configure on my RAD.
Because of this, I'm not able to see the Flex Prespectives in my RAD and mxml & as files are giving error in text editor.
    Please guide -
    1. How to configure the latest Flex 4.6 SDK in RAD.
    2. Apart from what I have done already, do I need to do anything else to debug/test the newly added flex files in my RAD.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
Thanks for your great reply i greatly appreciate you efforts.
Arie the thing is that i saw the post you mentioned above and it's kind of tangled, isn't there anyway or any sourceful website for step by step guide because i already mentioned that i am a brand new c/c++ programmer and i have no experience how to do programming in c/c++ as i am android and java developer using eclipse tool so visual studio is somewhat a new world for me.
Please if you have any step by step guidence link or website in your mind,do let me know i anxiously look forward for a step by step guide, but let's say if you don't have anything i want it's perfectly fine i ll try to dig more and work and look in VS 2010 because may be i am new and that's why i can't find the SDK integration.
Once again Arie thanks for your helpful and fast reply i greatly appreciate your co-operation.
    Thanks,

  • Flex 3 b2 on osx 10.5

I installed flex 3 b2 on a clean install of OSX 10.5 leopard
and a dialog box came up immediately saying my trial had expired.
so i put in the flex 2 licenses and it says everything is ok. it
will create and import my flex 3 projects, but it hangs when i
double click an mxml file. if i restart flex builder, i get
prompted to put in my licenses all over again. i tried the plug-in
and it works exactly the same. it works fine for cfeclipse and
java.. any ideas? is there a problem with the licensing on leopard?
i did an upgrade on my macbook pro to 10.5 and flex builder 3 works
    fine there.

I'd suggest you ask this question in the developer forums:
    Developer Forums
You'll be more likely to get a quick answer there, this not being a MacBook Pro question per se.
    Regards.

  • Install Flex 2 on Eclipse

I have Eclipse 3.3.1.1 and Flex SDK 2.0.1
How do I import the SDK into Eclipse?
    Instructions are vague.

Generally you would install the FlexBuilder plugin, which
installs the entire dev environment for you. I've never used just
    the SDK alone.

  • Installing Flex SDK

    Hello All,
Please excuse my ignorance; however, I am new to development.
After talking to a friend I decided to have a go at building flash into my websites.  As a skint student I opted to download the Flex SDK open source package.
I have downloaded FlexSDK from the Adobe site, unzipped the folder and saved it to my c:programes folder.  When I looked for an execuatble file to launch the application - nothing.  I continued to research which led me to install the plugins from the runtime folder after first unistalling my current version of flash.
As there was no joy launching an application I did further research into the open source Flex SDK; pretty much every review mentions developing within an IDE /your chosen IDE.
    Please help:
    - What am I missing please?
    - How do I get to work with flash using Flex SDK?
    - How do I unintall Flex and the plugins and get back to how I was, as I cannot find any uninstall information? (without restoring windows as I have just installed a load of new software)
There must be a way to make use of these files in an IDE; I must be launching it wrongly.
    Thanks!

Hey, give this a try. I successfully installed "Flex Builder"
on Slackware Linux 11 (2.6.15 kernel).

  • Adobe Flex 3 Plugin / JBuilder 2007

Can the Adobe Flex 3 plugin be installed with JBuilder 2007
(since built on Eclipse)? If yes, then please let me know where the
Eclipse directory is located or how to setup properly? The system
requirements on the MacOS X are as follows:
Flex Builder 3 for Mac OS X
    G4 1.25GHz PowerPC or Intel-based Mac
    OS X 10.4.7 through 10.4.10, OS X 10.5.x
    1GB of RAM recommended
500 MB of available hard-disk space to install
Java Virtual Machine: JRE 1.5 or JRE 1.6 from Apple®
Eclipse 3.2.2 or higher for Plug-in install
New Flex Builder 3 projects create applications that require
users to have Flash Player 9 (9.0.30) or higher. You can change
this to an earlier version of Player 9 in the Flex Compiler section
    of your project's Properties.
    Thank you for any assistance.
    Dan

It sounds like Eclipse should load each plug-in using its own
class loader so that we are not in "jar hell" with all the plug-ins
needing the same version of library jars to be functional. While
this also introduces issues (due to java's strong typing and
security paranoia), it is the only real solution in the long run.
In the short run Eclipse should include a standard version of such
common libraries so plug-in versions targeted at a certain Eclipse
version can standardize on a version. I am sure that if Adobe
updates their version to match IBM they will break compatability
with some other version of bundled Eclipse.
You can always use the stand alone FB to edit your Flex
assets and IBM to edit your Java assets.

  • Problem installing FB Eclipse plugin in Vista

Hi, I was trying to install Flex Builder 2 plugin for eclipse
on Vista x86, and on the step where I need to specify the folder of
existing Eclipse, I keep on getting the error:
Please choose an existing Eclipse folder (3.1 or greater) to
    be updated.
This folder must contain eclipse.exe and the standard folder
    named configuration.
Both eclipse.exe and the fold were present, and I have tried
installing over both Eclipse SDK 3.2.2 and 3.3 RC2 but the same
error was returned to me; I have also tried to choose the parent
folder but nothing changed except the error took much less time to
    show up.
    Please help a troubled n00b ^_^.

I had the same problems and solved them.
Actually, Flex Builder 2 is intended to work as plug-in with
Eclipse 3.1 and 3.2 - and Adobe page says it clear (
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flex/productinfo/systemreqs/)
    - however, It would be great if Adobe'd include this info in the
    installer too.
If you want to work with Eclipse 3.3 Europa, you should try
Flex Builder 3 beta - this one will work with Eclipse 3.3.
So, to solve your problem with FB2, just install Eclipse 3.2
and use it with plug-in configuration of Flex Builder 2.0(.1). This
helped me and I'm sure will help you too.

  • Installing Flex Builder with MyEclipse

I am trying to get Flex Builder to install a plugin for
eclipse. I have read that the installer is having an issue seeing
the configuration directory, and there is certainly something wrong
with my install. The only solution I found online says that I would
need to, FIRST install eclipse 3.3.1, SECOND install flex and THIRD
    install MyEclipse.
Well, I'm more then a little disturbed by this as I've
already got my IDE setup and working just the way I want it, and
really I'm just testing the capabilities of Flex for the "powers
that be". If it is a good tool, we will use it. But if this failure
to install is a precursor of things to come I'm going to have to
shoot it down since I'm the one whose got to use it.
Any suggestions? Perhaps there is some other support for flex
    as well?
    Thanks,
    -Robert

  • Getting the Flex Builder Plugin for Eclipse

I may be a dope, but I can't tell you how long it took me to
find the download for the Flex Builder plugin for an existing
install of Eclipse. If you're looking for the plugin, go to the
last line of the FlexBuilder standalone download page--and then, in
the last line, you will see a link buried in the line--click on
that, and you will get the download. Adobe, this is really, really
stupid way to organize your downloads.

    Ha, I'm not alone ;)
Thanks for pointing it out. It might seem obvious once you
notice the link, but I totally missed it.
The Adobe flex builder rips off numerous useful features that
eclipse offers, such as the ability to search all files, and it is
    very inconvenient.
