Install Forms 6i to work with existing 8i setup

I am trying to install Forms 6i for use with an existing 8i Enterprise setup. When I ran the installation I was prompted for a new home. I specified a new home and Forms 6i was succesfully installed into this home. I wish to now use Procedure Builder and other Forms tools with the 8i database. When I am prompted to login to the database I specify my login and password and supply the 8i database name. I get an error TNS: could not resolve service name. What can I do to fix this?

Temporarily connecting your AirPort Express to one of the Time Capsule's Etherent LAN <-> ports...as LaPastenagure suggests....is always a good way to setup and configure other network devices.
If you want to configure the Express using wireless, remember that the Express broadcasts a default wireless signal with a name like Apple Network xxxxxx. You must log on to this network first....no password is required....then open AirPort Utility to "see" the AirPort Express.

My Time Capsule does not work with existing WiFi

Following a question solved on March 24 by LaPastenague, but gone bad again.

I felt the need for a physical backup of my data, as I would not completely trust the different clouds. I use, and have used Dropbox for 4-5 years and are very satisfied with that, but I am still not sure if or when a political lunatic will shut off the internet.
I purchased the Apple AP Time Capsule 2T, because all my other stuff are Apple, and that it's wireless. My old backup is Maxtor 300 GB.
Since we stay 2-3 weeks on two locations, one in Norway and one in Sweden (two different countries) we must use Mobile Broadband 4G, cables or fibre connections are useless for us, and we don't have it up to the houses. I have one mini router for each country, we bring with us iPhones, iPads, iMac, Apple TV, APExpress. When we pass the boarder I change the mini router, and the system continues working perfect on the WiFi, except the APExpress that needs to be reconfigured, but then it works.
The APTC was difficult to make working as it would not accept to be in an existing network, but with good help from the Apple Community, LaPastenague, with forcing the TC connect to the APE with Ethernet cable in bridge mode, ref "My Time Capsule does not work with existing WiFi" from March 24, the problem was solved and all gadgets worked together in a perfect harmony, until we changed location.
Now, as I have my second WiFi network, and the APExspress is reconfigured, it's like the TC thinks, I am the base boss here, I am not taking orders from APE one more time, and it simply does not work, not only that, it fluctuates all the time.
I have a slight feeling that the two WiFi bands are making the trouble as during the configuration of the TC sometime the last figure 6 and 7 pops up, and that has something two do with the two different 2,4 and 5 GHZ bands
So, I am curious if you have any idea ?
I am thinking of returning the TC if I don't make it work now, but how do I delete all the data that's on it?

Open the airport utility .. go to the disk tab and select erase.
When you select erase you will get mulitiple options.
Quick removes the file table but does not delete the files,, it takes 2min or less.
A Zero out data is the secure way,, by writing 0 ie low level drive format.
It can take several hours..
7 pass will take a week.. not recommended..
35 pass erase is ridiculous.. it would take a month.. put an ax through the TC. It is quick and better.

The fact that it did work and has now failed might point to faulty unit.
The only way to tell is reset it properly to factory and start over.
Universal Factory Reset.. any model TC or AE.
Unplug your TC/AE from power or turn off at the power point.
Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on.. all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. (this is often difficult without a 2nd person or a 3rd arm).
Release it when the status light flashes rapidly. If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have missed it and try again.
Note..
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations of the router.
No files are deleted on the hard disk in a TC.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
Generally having multiple wireless AP should not cause problems.. but it is better to set channels manually.. so it doesn't go beserk rotating channels.
Remember to keep all names short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Sadly though the Apple routers have no logging now and no SNMP and almost nothing to help diagnose a problem, so if it continues .. take it back to apple.. they have given you no other method of fixing it.

Working with existing HTML

I am anxiously working with Edge Animate and very excited at the prospect of what it has to offer. However, I'm running into problems working with existing HTML files. Specifically, when I open an HTML file created outside of Edge, I've noticed that elements such as div's, etc are set to "static" and not "managed". Thus, I am unable to access some parameters, like setting x/y and scale to percentages. Also, the stage is omitted and I can't see how to add a stage. I assume opening an HTML file and developing with Edge is not the way to do this?

If you open an existing HTML, it will use the structure of that file and will try to keep it as close to its original state as possible, as you may have added CSS formatting to the div that we don't want to overwrite. Thus, it becomes a "static" item instead of a "managed" element. You can create your own managed elements on top of a file that you open by drawing rectangles/roundrects/ellipses (a div), adding text, or importing images to the stage, and all of these elements will be able to be changed using the controls in the toolbar and properties panel.

Unable now to import TIFs or to work with existing TIFs

This has been observed by other people but no answers forthcoming. I used to be able to import TIFs into an earlier version of iPhoto without any problem. However, now I cannot either import TIFs (error message warning of incorrect file type or similar text). Neither can I preview or work with those already imported prior to installing iPhoto6 and/or latest OSX updates.
Is there anyway of extracting the existing TIFs in the library ? I can't find any easy way to select by file type or filesize.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Where are those tiffs located that give you the error message when you try to import? If they are inside the iPhoto Library folder then that's the reason. You must move them out of that folder to be able to import them.
What do you get in the Edit window when you try to edit an existing tiff, a white window with the spinning cog? If so Download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, substituting your account name for mine. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field.

When available Form 11g & Jinitiator work with Microsoft Vista

When oracle will produce Form 11g & when oracle will support Windows Vista throw Jiniator (Because now Jinitiator is not working with windows Vista ! ).
Is there an estimate time for producing Form 11g or Jinitiator work with Vista?

Forms v11 will come with Oracle Application Server v11 and that is scheduled for FY 2009 which means May 2009 at the latest.
We will not certify Vista with JInitiator. We know it doesn't work with Vista and since it is based on Sun's plugin v1.3 and Sun has said that they will not fix the Vista related bugs in 1.3 we cannot make it work either.

My web form is not working with PayPal

Only seamless gateways such as the "Pro" version of PayPal, eWay or Authorize.net will work with form payments. Gateways that have the user leave BC, such as PayPal Standard, Google Checkout or Realex, only work with the online store.

I did further testing:
1. I turned off the IPN and I still received the Error page.
2. Than I went and turned off the Payment Data Transfer, and now I got the blank page... /PaymentProcess.aspx?paypal=success. However, I still got the paypal transaction ID attached to the orders.
3. I turned on the IPN and still got the blank /PaymentProcess.aspx?paypal=success and I still got the paypal transaction ID attached to the orders.So the conclusion is that IPN has no bearing on payments made with PayPal Standard when it is used with custom forms.
4. I chaged the URL in the Return URL to go to the secure home page instea of to /PaymentProcess.aspx. and...it still sent me to the PaymentProcess.aspx and I still got the paypal transaction ID attached to the orders.
5. I made the purchase using shoping cart to ensure it works too and this time I even received the receipt on the /PaymentProcess.aspx. The Ref# and Auth Code were "Not Applicable" but it still worked and it was recorded in the orders with the paypal transaction ID
So my conclusions are:
1. IPN has no bearing on PayPal payments made from the custom web form
2. Payment Data Transfer being on sends to the pafe that can't be processesd and it renders Error message
3. Return URL always send you to the PaymentProcess/aspx regardless what secure url you put in there.
4. Transcation ID is always passed to the orders as long as it can connect to PayPal. I guess ur will do it as long as the Payment Gateway has the proper informration in there.
5. It works the same from the custom web form and from checkout form.
I hope this sheds some light and serves some purpose to whoever is completely confused by this as I am.

How do I get my newly installed airport card to work with SKY?

Here's an interesting one for all you good people. Just bought and paid for an airport extreme card to pop into my little lad's G5 iMac, running Tiger(gggrrrrrrrr etc).
Managed to install it without a hitch.
Trouble is when I try and set it up to work with my SKY router (UK) it keeps telling me that my password is incorrect. The fibber! I know it IS correct as it is the one that SKY gave us and that we have successfully connected both my wife's MacBook and my own MacBook Pro with.
I have tried messing about with all kinds of configurations, but the set up assistants seem more bothered about yapping on about airport base-stations and computer-to-computer networks.
Now don't go telling me I need to get a base station to make it work. Please.

You can't. Theoretically, Thunderbolt devices that only transfer video and audio should work with Mini DisplayPort MacBooks like yours, but it's not the case of the Thunderbolt Display. Its firmware doesn't allow it to be used with non-Thunderbolt Macs, so you can't use the Thunderbolt Display with the Mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
Instead, you have to look for another screen, or you can get an adapter and connect the MacBook Pro to a TV

Install disk doesn't work with Windows Vista

I just bought a new HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw and the install disk isn't compatible with Windows Vista. Apparently there's no ful feature option for Windows Vista on an HP laptop. After several hours of work I downloaded several drivers and got the printer to print, but the scan function doesn't work that well without the HP software which hasn't been created for Windows Vista.

I am having a very similar problem but do not have an answer either. I am running an X61 Type 7676A12 with a Lenovo ACP50 port replicator FRU part number 40Y8160. I am running Windows XP Pro. The port replicator has never been very great and would not restore the external monitor picture properly when the laptop had been in sleep mode however it was serviceable if not optimal. After downloading and installing the October MS security updates the machine would get a BSOD when the port replicator was plugged in. Remove the replicator and reboot and it worked ok. Plug it in again and BSOD. I tried upgrading the drivers from 5.1.4a to 7.1.1.03Aug07 and then to 7.1.2. No go. Emailing Targus with the problem got no response. The port replicator is now relegated to my junk heap of useless rubbish.

ExternalInterface in C# form does not work with debug ActiveX control

I have a C# form that is a container for the Flash ActiveX
control. Everything works find as far as communication between the
two (container and Actionscript) if I use the release version of
the ActiveX control. If I use the debug version, the container does
not receive call events. Obviously I need to be able to debug both
the C# and actionscript code simultaneously. I have searched this
forum (and others) for any insight, but nothing glares out at me.
Could this possibly be a security issue?

I cannot get my iPod Touch to sunc with my Bluetooth adapter. The adapteer works with other BT devices. I received a message stating "no device driver installed" I am presuming the message is associated witht eh iPod. Any help or ideas appreciated.

How do i set up an iCloud account to work with existing hotmail account

So i have iphone 4s and a macbook and i want the email address that i used to have sync via fetching the data manually to work with icloud, I made an icloud account so that i could do this but now that and the other email account are seperate so nothing ever syncs, how can i just add my hotmail account to icloud to make it sync to my iphone automatically?

There is no way to setup iCloud on a PC, it must be setup first on a compatible Mac, iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

PE 2.0 working with existing slideshow

I have had elements 2.0 for quite a while, but I just now decided to create a slide show. I was able to create one, but my pictures are not in the order that I want. I cannot find a way to work with the slide show once created. I need to be able to re-arrange the photos in the slide show? Thanks for any help I can get.

The PSE slide show creation has changed very significantly between v2 that the thread originator has and v4 which you have. So any answers for her question will probably not apply to your problem.
So it would really be better for you to create a new thread using
b Add Topic.
Here is one point as a starter - a method that I often use is to make an Organizer
b Collection
and drag and drop within the Collection to set the initial sequence for the slide show, then Select all the photos in the Collection and click on the Create to start the slide show process.
However, that is not the only possible method. So if that is not what you want, then when you create the new topic, do explain in more detail whether you added the photos to the slide show from the Organizer or from a folder and also how you arranged them.

I'm not able to answer your last question . As i know the connection with the WAS JAVA is done in the instance profile of the SAP System so i think that you have to define it on each client .
Currently i work on the subject where on the same hardware i got 2 different SAP System and each of them have ADS Connexion define and that works fine .
