Install help on VOX USB 2.0

I have made several attempts to install the VOX USB 2.0 on my system
(MSI RS482M4 MB w/ AMD 3000+ processor and 1 GB memory, XP Home SP2).
I have downloaded the latest driver from MSI and it installs and it recognises the VOX.  Then I installed the MSIPVS application.  When I run it I get an error telling me the application must close.  I have also installed the WINDVD application:  it works but slowly.
I did get one semi operating install of MSIPVS, but it had no sound.  When I looked, the sound driver (Realtek 5.10.0.5178 from the MSI web site) had disappeared.  When I reinstalled it, I was back to the original error message
I would appreciate any help on how to resolve this.  I had great hopes for this product since I am using a recent MSI mainboard and the latest drivers.  If there is another application to replace the MSIPVS, I'd be game to try that.
Chuck!@#$

I have the same problem.
When using the drivers from the original CD MSIPVS crash, disabling the Realtek in the bios, msi pvs runs fine and the image is good, off course i have no sound.
Using the new drivers and the new msi pvs 3 from msi site ,  everything runs fine, driver installation, msipvs 3, but the image is very slow.
i have tried intervideo DVD Recorder 5 , intervideo home theater, none of them is stable with the VOX USB 2.0,using any of their drivers.
Realtek HD drivers ver.1.30
any sugestion?
Thanks, Nuno

  • Unable to instal VOX USB 2.0 drivers in WINDOWS XP Prof. SP2

    Hi,
I am unable to instal drivers in Windows XP Prof. SP2 for VOX USB 2.0. When I instal drivers from manufacturer's CD, instalation tells me, that it cannot instal some update for XP SP1. But I have SP2, so it should be OK. Then, after computer restart, I connected VOX and windows could not recognize it and asked me for drivers. I tried to instal drivers manually from the cd, but windows always tells me, that it cannot find driver on CD. I tried to download latest drivers from MSI website, but I had the same problem with it. What should I do? I am unable to use the TV tuner
Could anybody write me exact procedure how to instal it, please please!
    Thank You very much.
(I have tried to instal it on another computer with Windows XP Prof. SP2 and it did not work also. The same problem.)

Yes, my system has USB 2.0. It is P4 2.4GHz Northwood, motherboard: MSI 648 Max, 1GB of DDRAM (333MHz), MSI GeForce 4 MX 460, SoundBlaster Live! player 1024, pci card with aditional USB 2.0 ports (NEC chipset), SIS 900 pci NIC, 2x WesternDigital Caviar 1200JB, pci IDE controller SiliconImage 0680a (harddisks are not connected as RAID), DVD-ROM Pioneer, DVD burner LG GSA-4163B.
I have tried to connect VOX directly to USB port on motherboard and also to NEC USB pci card, but it did not work anyway.
I have disconnected all USB devices from the computer, except the mouse.
Windows is updated from MS Windowsupdate website.  I use Windows XP SP2 firewall and Microsoft Antispyware beta and antivirus software (I have tried to turn them off during the TV VOX installation, but it did not help).
And I  also use power supply for TV VOX.

  • How to install windows 7 using usb as the bootcamp doesnot have the option of creating a bootable usb. please help

I have an intel based mac with 10.6.8 mac os x. How to install windows 7 using usb as the bootcamp doesnot have the option of creating a bootable usb. please help

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You can install Windows from a USB drive in one of these computers:
    - MacBook Pro with Retina display.
    - Mac mini (Mid 2010 and newer).
    - MacBook Air.
    - iMac (Late 2012).
If you don't have any of these Macs, you can't install Windows through a USB drive. Instead, buy Windows on a DVD. Follow Apple's steps > http://support.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1519/en_US/Boot_Camp_Install-Setup_10.6. pdf

  • PAL 60hz on VOX USB ???? Help!

    Hi
I've just bought a MSI VOX USB to play with my videogames consoles on the tft screen of my portable thinkpad, but I've a problem with the 60Hz mode.
In fact, the VOX work good in NTSC 60Hz, but in PAL I can't play in 60Hz! It's work, but the games appeared black and white...   So, if I want to play in color, I've to play in 50hz mode but that's sux >_
Why can we play in PAL 60hz? Can I found something to upgrade the vox or the InterVideo program
(I play on a portable, so I can't change the refresh rate of the screen)
    Thanks in advance

I know that NTSC is 60hz et PAL 50Hz, but there is also PAL 60Hz
In general, PAL consoles don't support S-Video signal, there are composite or rgb scart...
So if the Vox support NTSC 60Hz, why is it impossible to support also the Pal 60hz? It may be possible

    Nikos.

Well, I got MSIVPS3 to recognize my tv box but I can't seem to get a lock down on any channels.  All i get is snow from every channel. No audio either.  Everything works peachy on my desktop running win2k but my laptop is where I need the video input from a camcorder.  Grrrr.  I think I wasted my money buying this P.o.S.

  • VOX USB 2.0 channel changes itself

I bought a VOX USB 2.0 Tuner today. After installing it the MSIPVS software keeps change channels from 1 to 11 to 111 and it won't stop! I reinstalled and that didn't seem to help but it seems the program keeps it's settings in the registry or something since it kept the chnl names I entered from my first install. If anyone has any idea what I can do about this that would be nice!
PS Running Windows XP SP2, Athlon XP, ATI Radeon 9200 agp.

    I had this problem also...
but all i did to solve it was to end task wincinemamgr.exe and restart it.
also there is  a new version of the msipvs software available to test.

  • Installing Arch Linux on USB key: error while booting

    Hello,
first of all, I must say I've followed the steps from this article on arch wiki to install archlinux on my USB key: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/In … _a_USB_key
So what I did is to use one of my 2 usb keys to INSTALL linux, and the second one to RUN linux. I used dd to write on the 1st usb, eveything worked fine when booting, then I do install arch on the my second usb following the stept from the link above, everything works until I get this error while booting (at the middle):
Waiting 10 seconds for device /dev/sdc/
Root device '/dev/sdc' doesn't exist. Attempting to create it.
ERROR: Unable to determine major/minor number of root device '/dev/disk/by-uuid/lotsofnumbers'
You are being dropped to a recovery shell
Type 'exit' to try and continue booting
/bin/sh: Can't contact tty; job control turned off
    [ramfs /]#
To summarize I'll show you my conf files that could help you to resolve my problem:
    /etc/fstab.conf
    /dev/sdc1 /boot ext2 defaults 0 1
    /dev/sdc2 / ext3 defaults 0 1
    /dev/sdc3 /home ext3 defaults 0 1
    So here I've sdc1 boot 32MB partition; sdc2 root 3GB partition; sdc3 home 978MB partition for a total of 4GB USB key~
I didn't make a swap partition as in the tutorial they are writing it's unnecessary for some kind of reasons.
    /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
HOOKS="base udev usb autodetect pata scsi sata filesystems"
I've added to here, "usb" to the hooks
installed GRUB on my sdc, here is the menu.ist:
    # (0) Arch Linux
    title Arch Linux (USB)
    root (hd0,0)
    kernel /vmlinuz26 root=/dev/sdc ro vga=773
    initrd /kernel26.img
So, I boot GRUB without problems, start Arch Linux, but then I got this error above.
I've searched alot on some forums and read many stuffs, but sitll can't fix it and it seems complicated.
I've tried to boot with UUID, also, but didn't make difference. I tried to remove some parameter from the hooks, but unfortunately this wasn't working still. I've read somewhere to use chroot, but I didn't catch on how to do that and what was the use of chroot, I'm still noob user of arch linux and currently learning. Maybe it's the problem, as some forum were talking about creating a new image, but I still don't know how to make it. By the way, I'm not sure this could have fixed my current problem. I've also read somewhere it could be due to my lack of space, but I wrote you how I did partition my USB key, let me know if you have any suggestion please.

    1. What I did is re-installing entirely from my installation disk or USB to test out different setting in  my config files, because I don't know how to edit my .conf as I can't really finish to boot to the end and get in terminal mode? If there is a quicker way to edit files from any terminal to go into my current USB sdc to modify directly my file from there, I'd enjoy probably. So rebuilding the initpio, no, I just re-installed to test out different configs.
    2. Yes, same error.
    3. Tested out by-id/by-path and uuid = no difference
    4. Didn't know about larch, it seems to be a nice tool, I'll check it out

  • How can I install Windows 7 by USB? MacBook late 2008 10.6.8 Boot Camp 3.0.4

    Someone please help...
I have tried software update and no luck. I think my Boot Camp on Mac 3.0.4 is not showing me the right option on creating a USB installation. It asks me to load Windows 7 CD when I don't have it, I bought it online... Every download I tried from Apple is .exe and I am losing hope on this one...

You can only install Windows from a USB with one of these Macs:
    - MacBook Pro with Retina display.
    - Mac mini (Mid 2010 and later).
    - iMac (Late 2012).
    - MacBook Air.
If you bought Windows in Internet and you got it in a ISO image, you can burn it into a DVD. Simply double-click the ISO image, open Disk Utility, right-click the ISO image in the sidebar and burn it

  • InterVideo WinDVR encountered a problem and needs to close (VOX USB 2.0)

    Device: MSI VOX USB 2.0
    Driver: vox_1.1.0505.0.zip
Software: msipvs_8609.zip (both driver and windvr software were download from official MSI site).
Machine: Dell Latitude D600 with 1G memory
Symptom: Installed ok, during starting the following is popuped:
InterVideo WinDVR Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Searching the forum I found one posting relating that to QuickTime codecs installed by Nero. But It is not the case on my machine.
I downloaded the trial version of WinDVR3 from InterVideo web site and it works correctly. Anyone experience similiar problem. Any suggestion/instruction is deeply appreciated.

Just partially solved the problem by download the beta driver. At least now the MSIPVS program starts ok. The four problems remain are:
    1. It won't load the channel file upon startup. Have to manually load the file before changing channels
    2. the control (channel up/down, power off) doesn't work
    3. the unit won't turn off (the led light is still on after exit the program)
    4. don't know how to use the teletxt program included.
    Any direction/comment is deeply appreciated.

    nolsqn,
Can you clarify what you have installed? You must have all of the following installed to get NI IMAQ for USB Cameras to install:
    System Requirements:
    - Windows 2000/XP (English,
Italian, Japanese, French, Italian, Norwegian, Dutch,
    Spanish/Portuguese, Russian, and simple Chinese)
    - LabVIEW 7.0 or higher with NI Vision 7.1 or higher for the USB LabVIEW support
    - Vision Assistant 7.1 or higher for the USB Vision Assistant plugin module
    - Vision Assistant 8.0 or higher for the USB Express VI
It sounds like you are missing Vision Development Module (this is what is referred to as NI Vision)? Is this true?

  • Sound Problem VOX USB

    hi there,
I just bought a MSI vox USB tv card and I can't seem to get the audio to work.  The video image is ok, but how do I connect the sound since i have no audio line in ??? i tried it with the mic port, but i don't get any sound, just some noise...
I do have an S-video connection...maybe i can do something with that ?
also, is it possible to connect speakers directly to the TV card ? how would i do that since the plugs are different..
    any help is appreciated
    Nick

    They are plug and play.
I did try unplugging all of the USB devices and then powered off the computer and unplugged it for about 5 minutes as I heard that that sometimes solves USB problems. However, upon reconnecting the problem returned. All other USB devices seem to be working normally - it's only the Bose sound system. I tried plugging it into a different USB port in the back of the computer but the problem continued after about 10 minutes. Therefore, I am convinced this is not hardware related.
At this point I am thinking I need to reinstall OS X Snow Leopard to undo whatever Tinker Tool damaged. Is it possible to just replace the USB drivers in OS X without reinstalling everything?

  • Installing Windows 7 from USB flash (Macbook Air mid 2012)

    Hello,
I read some famous instructions, but they are not for Macbook air mid 2012 as there are some missing options in their Bootcamp Assistant and this on macbook air 2012.
Btw, they suggested some rEFIt program which supports installing windows from usb which is made in 2010 but it has not been updated since then. I tried it but it doesn't work like it is described in instructions.
I have my USB and Windows 7 on it, but i don't know how to install it on the Macbook Air 2012.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Kind Regards,

    Hello,
Thank you for the explanation that helped me to understand Windows 7 installation process!
Unfortunately i need more additional information as Boot Camp Installation & Setup Guide is very poor with information that i need.
To explain you better what i mean on, i will quote Boot Camp Guide parts with underlined sentences that have been confusing me. Some sentences that have been confusing me more than other ones will be additionally bolded. I will explain you why i don't understand it after every part.
    1. "Introduction"
"You can install Windows with an installation disc you provide or, on some Mac computers, with a USB flash drive that contains a Windows ISO images downloaded from Microsoft. Boot Camp Assistant helps you burn the image to the flash drive."
-But i already have my iso image on the USB flash drive. There is no need to be burned again?
    2."What you need"
"Boot Camp Assistant erases the flash drive, and copies to it the Windows 7 ISO image and software drivers that let Windows work with your Mac hardware."
-Erasing the flash drive? Does it mean that it will delete my WIndows 7 which is already on my flash drive?
-Copying Windows 7 ISO image and software drivers to my flash drive? Why? I already have Windows on my flash drive! Software drivers? How do i get them and where shall i place them?
    3."Prepare your mac for Windows"
"If you want to install Windows from a USB flash drive and you have a Windows 7 ISO image, select option to copy the image to a USB flash drive."
Why shall i select the option to copy Windows 7 ISO image?
1.I already have it on my flash drive.
    2. I don't have it on my Macbook so there is no place in a ssd where Boot Camp will find Windows 7 ISO image.
    Here is the overview:
Guide is telling me to select the option to copy image to a USB drive which will first erase my USB flash drive and then copy Windows 7 and it's software drivers to my USB flash.
-But only thing that i need is Windows support software and i don't know whether to download it to desktop, or to USB flash drive.
    Kind Regards,
