Hi mara2014,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I have read your post on a fatal error message appearing during installation, and I would be happy to assist you!
Since you have already uninstalled and reinstalled the software on your computer, I recommend performing a Level 3 Uninstall. This will cleanly remove any lingering software that may not have been removed during any of the uninstallation.
To perform a Level 3 Uninstall, please proceed with the following:
Hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type %temp%
Delete all files and folders from the temp folder. Choose skip if any pop ups appear saying any of the files could not be deleted
Follow the link providedand select the bit version of Windows 8.1 you are using. Once you have this selected, download the full feature software.
After the software downloads and extracts, open the temp folder again, use the instructions from step 1
Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
Open folder Util
Open folder CCC
If you have anHP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have anon-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
. Follow these steps to reset the registry settings and options for Windows Installer.
Hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box
In theOpenbox, type msiexec /unreg, and then clickOK.
Hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box
In theOpen box, type msiexec /regserver, and then clickOK
If you have any difficulty with this step, please use this link to perform it another way. Restarting Windows Installer
. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tool < How to Delete files using Disk Cleanup
. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
. Restart the computer
. Download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows
The HP Printer Install Wizard for Window was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP Printer. If you have Windows Vista or XP you will need to open the download from step 3, let it extract again, and begin the install.
If you experience an issue installing at this point, please post back with any applicable screenshots. How to take and post a screenshot on HP Support Forum.
Please also post back with your operating system, and whether you have an HP computer or computer from another manufacturer. Step 8 from above, specifies to only run the L4uninstall.exe if you do not have an HP computer. It would help me to know which uninstall you used and what brand of computer you have.
Most install errors are stored in the Windows Event Viewer, identifying the error ensures that you get the best troubleshooting steps for your error. Follow the instructions below to find the error code.
From the Start screen, type Event Viewer
In the Event Viewer frame (on the left), click Windows logs
Under Windows logs, click Application. The Event Viewer results display in the middle pane
In the middle frame in the Source column, find the most recent Error entry from HP Tip: You can click the Source column to sort in alphabetical order to make it easier find the most recent entry from HP. You can also click Date (or any of the other columns) to sort
Click the Error entry. The error details display in the General tab
In the General tab, look for a numbered code. This is the specific error message that you need to troubleshoot
Once you have attempted to reinstall the software and it fails to configure, please follow this document on how to resolve a 'Fatal Error' Message Displays on the Computer at 96% of the HP Software Installation. If you are still experiencing the same error message after completing the listed steps, please call our technical support at 1-800-474-6836. How do I create a network using HP 4500 G510
Hi
I bought the HP 4500 G510 thinking it was wireless. It was only once I'd set it up, and printed my test pages etc that I realised it wasn't.
I need to able to use a PC running Windows XP, a laptop running Vista and an iPad to print. The printer is currently connected to my wireless router (Virgin Media Super Hub) via Ethernet, which my PC is also connected too. To print using my laptop I'm having to plug in a USB cable.
Please advise as I'm due to begin a OU course next month and need to make sure that I've got all my equipment working.
Thank you for your kind assistance in this matter.
Chrizza.
This question was solved.
View Solution. It sounds like the software just needs to be installed on the laptop for a network connection. If you have installed the printer software, uninstall it from the system and follow the steps in document from HP. You can use the CD, but I recommend using the latest software from HP, and that can be downloaded here. The first part discusses on how to use the Print and Scan Doctor to resolve many networking problems. This can be ignored since the software just needs to be reinstalled for the network installed printer.
As for the iPad, you will need to use the HP ePrint app in the App Store of the iPad. The Officejet 4500 is not compatible with Apple's native AirPrint technology. Sorry.
The above steps should get you going.
More information regarding the HP ePrint app can be found here.

Unable to Install Adobe AIR 2 on Windows 7
I'd already installed a previous version. Recently I downloaded an app which requires AIR to work, it tried installing/updating it but couldn't. I decided to reinstall it but I was met with the same error both the times,
"Installation may not be allowed by adminstrator."
I deleted the files manually, restarted the computer and tried to install it but couldn't and was met with the aforementioned error.
I am attaching the AIR and MSI log files.

Could you try Windows Install Cleanup tool (http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459) to remove AIR Runtime and then install the latest AIR Runtime again? To install this tool on 64bit Windows, you need to run this program in compatibility mode for WinXP SP3 (right click the exe file, Properties -> Compatibility)

Installing Adobe Photoshop CS5 in Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Hi,
Just wanted to know if there are any problems installing Adobe Photoshop CS5 in Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit?
Planning to purchase a laptop that comes with the OEM license and plan to use 64-bit OS to maximize the 8GB RAM of memory. Just afraid if there are known issues for this type of installations.
ThanksNo issues.
On the contrary, subject to the image(s) being edited, Photoshop will thrive in a 64 bit Win 7 machine given the right tweaks.
http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-performance-photoshop-cs4-cs5.html
Be aware that two versions of Photoshop will be installed 32 bit and 64 bit. The 32 bit is there for legacy reasons with some plugins e.g. TWAIN scanner

Is it Possible to install ODDC 32 bit on Windows Server 2008 R2(64bit)?
Hi All,

I am Posting this bcoz I did not found any ODDC related Blogs.

Thanks,
RajThe certification matrix ( http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/webcenter/content/odc-cert-matrix-214688.pdf ) does not mention OS for ODDC Server, but as ODC is certified for Win Server 2008, R2, 32 or 64 bit, I believe the answer is yes.
Make sure, however, that you ODDC clients run on a different OS (see Exceptions). -
Error Installing InDesign CS3 Server on Windows Server 2008 R2 64BIT
Hello there-
I'm trying to install InDesign CS3 Server on Windows Server 2008 R2 64BIT (x64) Edition, however, we get a failure indication on the installer. Before, we have installed it properly on Windows Server 2008 R2 32BIT (x32) but some how we cannot proceed on a x64 box.
Is there any limitation on this sense? Any documentation about it?
Thanks and appreciate your answers.
Regards,
Gustavo Ortega

Note: There is a File Upload limitation in IIS 7 on Windows 2008 Server, IIS will reject any file that is
larger than 30 MB. This is a default limitation of IIS. You can increase the maximum file size by
setting the parameter maxAllowedContentLength in the file ApplicationHost.config.
The following command can be used to set the parameter from the command prompt, please
change the directory to Windows\System32\inetserv and then execute the command.
appcmd setconfig /section:requestFiltering/requestLimits.maxAllowedContentLength:150000000
The value is only an example, in this case the upload limit is set to 150MB.Server has to be restarted
after execution of this command.
Also, are you using Maxdb to store the files or is it a "flat files" content server ?

Hello,
I am Trying to install iTunes 12.1 for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and I get an Itunes window with an error that says:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32",version'8.0.50727.6195",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3 b9a1e18e3b"processorArchitecture="amd64". Please refer to help and Support for more information.HRESULT: 0x800736B3
I already:
- Uninstalled all old Itunes versions.
- Tried a clean reboot to install the new version,
- Installed the security update’ Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update’
But I still get the same error.
Can someone help?
Thanks! For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you still have trouble you might consider installing the alternate version iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards) where you can download a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of iTunes that works with older video cards. This version may also be useful for anyone who is unable to get the 64-bit version of Apple Application Support to install when using the itunes6464setup file, or has trouble with playback of certain video files despite having QuickTime installed.

When opening iTunes on my new Windows 7 PC I continue to get the same messages, 'The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing' and 'iTunes was not installed correctly. Error 7 (Windows error 126)' I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times to no avail, even tried it on a different user account and still nothing. I recently installed Panda Internet Security 2012 (about 12 days ago), initially iTunes worked fine as usual but within the last few days I've been unable to open it with the same messages appearing. I've read through some of these pages and tried everything that's been advised, uninstalling and reinstalling while internet and laptop security is swithched off, downloading tools to completely remove anything related to iTunes, tried it in Safe Mode, nothing has worked. I've also noticed that in the start menu when I click on iTunes, it says '(empty)' where it should have the logo and ability to start the program, does this mean it doesn't download + install properly each time I've tried? Any help would be enormously appreciated.
Doublechecking. Have you also tried the following user tip?

After installing the safari update for windows, outlook is now not opening email hyperlinks. I have set safari to be my default browser but outlook won't open it when I click a link. I get the following message: "This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." Please help.
Hi mcclausky, you may need to manually remove a policy setting from the registry. You also should scan for malware that might have created this problem.
This article lists scanning and cleaning tools other Firefox users have found helpful: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
To check your Windows registry for policy settings that might affect Firefox or other programs, I suggest consulting a Windows forum or Microsoft's forums. For example:

Each time I try to install itunes I get a windows installer message telling me that the installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package.....
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
