Install Hyperion Essbase in Client Machine????

Hi,
What are the things we need to install in Client machine???
For Administration services i am using web client, for remaining products(AIS, Studio) i need to install clients.
Can you please advice what are the files that i have to download and install???

Hi,
what do you call client machine ? Users' machines ? If it's users machine you just need to install the Essbase client (aka excel add-in or smartview).
For other components (for an admin), as you said, there are web versions (EAS, Workspace, Web Analysis). Version 9 didn't have a web version for EIS as far as I know, I don't know about EPM11.

I got suggestions that I should have installed hyperion essbase 11.1.2.2 client , so can anyone guide me how to install essbase client 11.1.2.2.
I did the same with OBIEE 11.1.13 and 11.1.1.5 with Hyperion essbase 11.1.2 and easily made its access. but with these new realease everything is got changed.

Totally I'm having four machines (Machine A,Machine B,Machine C,Machine D). With the help of these four machines I'm going to install Hyperion Essbase and Planning 11.1.2.1.0.
Machine A (Linux-64 bit) ----> I have planned to install and configure the Hyperion Essbase Server,EAS Console.
Machine B (Linux-64 bit) ----> I have planned to install and configure the Oracle Database.
Machine C (Windows-64 bit) ----> I have planned to install and configure Hyperion Planning.
Machine D (Windows-32 bit) ----> I have planned to install and configure Hyperion Essbase Client.
In my 3 machines i have 64-bit, and 1 has 32 bit, I do not know this would be working, if this is correct kindly tell me how to do.

hi,
If you are using english language and need other font to display something special character you have to provide link to the font file.
else you have to write applet to install font on client machine. then there are other issues like you should have the applet signed.
If you have seen some multiligual sites like japanese. those site use html encoding for that. like Shift_JIS. Due to this the browser sets that perticular font and shows the page. If the font is not installed then it connects to the download center and download the font and install the font.

Connecting to sql server database mdf file without installing sql server on client machine?

I am creating a window application that need to use sql server database. I want to install this application to client machine without installing sql server so that my application can still connect to a database i.e mdf file that i will be providing at client
system.
How can i connect to a database(mdf) on client machine through my window application without installing sql server. ? I dont know is it possible or not.
If possible what will be the connection string in that case. Database need not be used in network.

you cant connect and view the internals of mdf file unless it being attached to a sql server instance as a database.
The sql server instance can be installed in any box which is in the same domain and then you can connect from your application to it.

How can I install a jre on client machines with no Internet Access

I have a lot of client machines located throughout the country which are connected to a central network (Oracle) application server. The client machines do not have internet access. The application now uses an applet which is accessible from the network. I would like to use the <jsp:plugin> tag to automatically download and install a jre on the client browsers that don't have a jre installed, when they access the jsp page. Unfortunately, even using iepluginurl="http://server-address/jinstall-1_4_2-windows-i586.cab, the client machines still need to access the internet to install the JRE as the cab file needs to access files at the Sun site.
Is there any online jre installer, that can be used on a network where the client machines do not have internet access? Or do I need to install the JRE manually on each machine? The browsers are all Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Thanks for your reply ChuckBing.
Unfortunately I had already copied the instructions I found in the Sun documentaion to the letter and it still needed access to the internet. In the end I solved the problem by pointing the iepluginurl to a non existent file and putting a URL, pointing to an offline JRE executable on the server, as the message that appears when the applet cannot be loaded. The clients then have the choice of downloading the JRE or installing it online by clicking on the URL.

Do I need install web analysis on client machine?

I have installed web analysis in the server, to let the user to access web analysis, should I also install web analysis in the user's machine, or just let them access the web analysis URL, http//hostname:16000/webanalysis ?

They should really access through the workspace port :- http://hostname:19000/workspace/index.jsp login and then access WebAnalysis via workspace
or http://hostname:19000/WebAnalysis/WebAnalysis.jsp
It should automatically download the java client if the user does not have it installed.
If a JRE is not installed it should deliver jre-1_5_0_17-windows-i586-p.exe

How to install SSL Certificates automatically in Client machine

Hi All
I have installed Certificates for SSL in Planning server machine for Planning Web services.While connneting to Server through excel-addin from client machine it is not connecting
Error is bleow:
"The underlying connection was closed : could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel" and then getting the following error
"The PerformancePoint Server System is currently unavailable"
I got it this is due to Certification not installed in client machine.
So i tried to install certificate through IE web browser ..i typed webservices links ..i.e https://servername:443 in address box
..not admin console link.Because if i connect to Admin console then i connect to Planning server it is not showing me the dialog box " Security Alert "
So typed direcly webservices in address box.Then "Security Alert" dialog box opened ,In that i clicked "View Certificate" button and installed manually.Then this problem solved.
But i want to check this is a way to install cerficate in the client machine or there is any other way to do it automatically...
Please help me to solve this..

Abdul,
The problem seems to be that the certificate authority that created your certificate is no trusted by Windows.... That process of installing the root certificate in the clients machines should not be needed if the ceritifcate is obtained from the right ceritifcate authority...
Where did you purchased your certificate from?

Manually set up the essbase 11 client (without using the fusion installer)

Hi All,
is it possible to install the Essbase 11 client without using the Fusion Installer?
I tryed to copy the "bin" and "locale" directory from an exisiting installation and set up the ARBORPATH environment variable - without success.
Did I miss anything? Maybe some Registry entries? Or isn't it possible to set up the essbase client manually?
Every answer would be appreciated.

I have an application which uses the C-API (essapinu.dll, essotlnu.dll, ...) and I want to test it with diffrent Essbase Client Versions against diffrent Essbase Servers.

Problem during installation hyperion essbase

Hi everybody,
I'd like to know, if possible, the right installation step to configure Hyperion Essbase on my machine.
My operating system is Windows 2003 server, and DB is microsoft sql 2000.
Main problem is after installation of "shared services", during the "hyperion configuration utility". I can't finish the configuration because of , I receive this error message
"Registration Parameters cannot be validated succesfully. Please check that the information entered is correct".
In your opinion what's my problem ???

I've also heard of an issue when installing shared services that it doesn't recognize the hyperion home directory properly. For instance, you have ArborPath and Hyperion Home pointing to drive E, but it installs to drive C, and then changes a variable or two to point to the wrong location.
Thus:
1) verify that the system variables are pointing to the correct place
2) uninstall/reinstall if they didn't install to the same drive/location

I am getting an Error “Test Agent could not connect to the test controller”
while configuring The Test Agent on Client machine.
Pre-requisite used:
VS2012 update 4, Test agent & Test controller of same version used
User has TFS admin access.
Same user id used for configuring Test Agent.
Description:
Test controller is installed on server A. I want to install test agent on client machine B.
Windows Fire wall is OFF on both Machines A & B. While configuring Test Agent below error is occurred:
“Test Agent could not connect to the test controller”
In log file error was “I, 2015/04/02, 15:32:21.723, Could not get the status from the test agent. Exception: Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified.”
In Event viewer below error details given:
Unable to connect to the controller on ‘My Server: 6901’. The agent can connect to the controller but the controller cannot connect to the agent because of following reason: The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found.
Make sure that the firewall on the test agent machine is not blocking the connection.
Could you please help me to find solution?

So on each computer, you create a local user account that is a member of the Administrators group, and use the same account and password on each machine(controller and Agent), am I right?

Barcodes are not shown in the client machine

We are using asp.net web forms for launching crystal reports. Crystal Reports rpt with barcode has been designed in Crystal 2008. Barcode field has been defined by right clicking the required field and selecting Change to Barcode u2026 and the barcode type is selected.
Barcode is shown when we launch the report in the web server. When we launch the same report in the client machine barcode is not shown to the user. The barcode font u201CCode39AzaleaWide2u201D is not available in the client machine.
How to overcome this issue without installing the font manually in each client machines. Crystal Reports 2008 is installed in the web server.
I need some clarifications
1. Whether the barcode fonts should be installed (mandatory) in the client machines.
2. On launching the report whether the barcode fonts will be downloaded from the web server to the client machine
3. Are the barcode fonts are freely distributable to all the client machines both internet and intranet users
4. Is there any document available regarding this issue

It is your call on how to distribute the fonts. Reports will not download the fonts on it's own.

Hyperion Essbase 9 and database.mdb

Hi all, I have installed Hyperion Essbase 9
- Hyperion essbase 9 server
- Hyperion essbase 9 administration services
- Hyperion essbase 9 cliend add-in for excell
Now i want do olap analysis on a database foodmart.mdb. I have problem to load it on essbase server. I can create only new db.

Of the 24 tables in your Access, not all have data in . You might need to code SQL to pull the required data or make one smart data source file to load it into the cube .For that one needs to know what exactly the final presentation of your reports would look . I see few tables are just meant for description and other tables have data . Firstly,Request you to understand the essbase load process, which includes the campatible data sources and their formats .
As Andy suggested , DBAG or essbase tutorial is a good option . "SQL interface " documentation along with all Hyperion documentation can be found in the following URL
