Install jdk without admin's rights

Hello,
Where can I meet an image directory of the jdk1.5 online ?
With this directory, just I need to define the path to the bin (on command line) and eventualy a kind of class_path ?
Thk's.

We will only be distributing the embedded Java version for Windows as 64 bit.
There will still be a 32bit version you can run for Windows, you'll just need to provide your own 32 bit JDK.
>>Yep, it would be easy to role out JDK 7 but IT people only want business people to have JRE and not JDK
Good news! Just tell them your tool requires the Server JRE
Java SE Downloads
This is all we require for SQL Developer.

  • Install xcode without admin rights

    Hi!
I have a work MacBook Pro which my team purchased however our IT department insisted on putting admin rights on it. I have managed to download xcode from the app store however because xcode wants to make changes it requires admin rights. Now, one of the main reasons I have been purchased the MacBook is because I need to work from home for personal reasons. The only thing IT department have suggested to me is for me to travel to work for them just to put a password in.
Is there a way where I can install xcode without these admin rights? I first hit these admin rights when I need to agree to a license agreement.
Any help would be much appreiciated!

    Bad news I am afraid.
Apple properly implement UAC (User Access Control) whereby whenever something tries to install itself it does ask for an admin level authentication. Microsoft's effort in this area ***** big time even if in other areas they may be better than Apple.
Therefore as things stand you need it to be authenticated by an admin level password.
Now looking forwards there are two possible approaches which would make both your IT department happy and let you work.
If your IT department sets up a system whereby they can remotely control your computer they can remotely authorise the installation. This is an absolute pig to do with Windows machines as in Windows normally the authorisation dialog kills the remote control session but thankfully it is easy with Macs. This may require having a VPN connection to the office but some remote control systems do not need this e.g. LogMeIn
or they could set up a 'self-service' software install system like Munki. There would be a server with the installers on it including the XCode installer and your Mac would be configured to talk to this, you Mac would have the Munki Managed Software client on it and this client would manage installing the applications and would also manage the authorisation for you meaning you would not need to enter a password
Even once you have XCode installed it is my experience that using it to develop software usually requires admin access anyway, the development company I worked at in support therefore conceded the inevitable and gave all the devs admin level accounts with the understanding that if they broke things they had to fix it themselves.

  • Installing JInitiator without admin rights fails

    Dear experts!
We have an application server (10.1.0.2) with a web form application onto it. On the client side there are about 50 users. Some of them have and some don't have admin rights.
When calling the forms application the first time JInitiator is downloaded and installed onto the local pc. This works well for the admin users but fails without admin rights.
So what is the recommended way in this case? Is there a workaround for non admin users?
    Thanks
    Markus

Can you expand on this 4dyomi ? You mentioned Novell Zenworks ? What if
your application is a Web application and users are not part of the intranet.

  • Installing JDK without administrator rights - JRE is installed

    Hello,
On my PC the JRE is already installed. I want to install the JDK but have no administrator rights, and can't acquire them ;-)
Is there any way to do this? E.g by copying files....
    Thanx
    Pieter

Install the JDK on a machine where you do have admin privileges, then copy the JDK directory to this machine.
(or have whoever can login as admin do the install.)

  • Install applet without admin rights

    Hi,
Apologies for my complete lack of knowledge here, but I'm wondering if there's a way of installing java applets on users profiles who don't have local admin rights on their machine.
Basically, I work for a company with a lot of users who access various websites with java applets. However, each time a user requires access to one of these sites, we have to grant them local admin rights, open the site to install the applet, then remove the rights again. I was hoping there might be a better solution to this?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

  • Installing Flash Without Admin Password

I'm trying to install the flash player plugin without being required to give it an admin password.
Unfortunately, Adobe won't let me download it; the only thing they have for download is some "flash installer" application that demands an admin password.
Click show package contents on the application, open Resources, find the installer package, show that package's contents, and open up the Archive.pax.gz file; inside, is a file called Flash Player.plugin.lzma which I have no idea how to extract.
So how do I extract the flash player plugin from the lzma archive thing?
Also, does anybody know what the latest version of Flash Player is anyway? Every time I think I've found the latest version, something tells me it's out of date; does the latest version require Leopard or something?

I could use the single-user hack to gain admin access to the machine in question, but I don't think its owner would like me very much if I did that.
You know the way to get an additional administrative account?
see the second post in this thread. Look for additional administrative account:
    http://discussions.info.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8398480
A second admin account lets you do what you need, but doesn't compromise their password. Let them know about it. Delete it after use.
Should be able to delete from single user mode. See:

  • Using Oracle after install without Admin rights -- Possible?

We are upgrading our company to Windows 7. Clearly, the best practice is to remove admin rights from users. I see lots of posts on inability to install Oracle without admin rights. That makes sense. Once installed though, we are hitting errors simply running Oracle without admin rights. Is there a change in our install methodology that would allow us to run Oracle without Admin rights? Any thoughts would be appreciated. We are having to run wide open right now.
    Thanks,

Not that Windows security is the greatest but generally these types of things are not easy to bypass. They are security related afterall. I think you will need to contact you IT department about installing the runtime engine for you.

  • Installing iTunes updates without admin rights

I'm the sys admin for a small IT department. None of the users have admin rights, which means every time an iTunes update comes around, they can't install it.
How can I make this easier for us all, without having to go around to all their machines to install for them, and without giving them admin rights?

+"None of the users have admin rights, which means every time an iTunes update comes around, they can't install it."+
Users without admin rights cannot install their own programs, iTunes or otherwise.
Note that you do not need to install every single iTunes update that comes along. Just upgrade once in while. (I am on 7.6, and doing fine.) The newer versions don't support anything new that your folks are supposed to be doing at work anyway. (-:

  • Is there any way to install a plugin without admin rights on windows 7

    Hi all,
I've developed a plugin for adobe indesign cs5. I was able to install my plugin(by creating .msi file) into indesign plugins folder, when extension manager is opened as administrator.
I just want to know, if I can install the plugin without admin rights.
FYI: My plugin will add a link to File menu on menubar of the indesign application, clicking which will execute the scripts.
Please let me know if you want any other information.
    Thanks for any ideas/support.
    Regards,
    Srikanth

InDesign will load plugins from the path specified in the PlugInConfig.txt file in the user's InDesign preferences directory, which does not require administrative privileges. See "Using PlugInConfig.txt" on pp.12- of the "Getting Started with the Adobe InDesign CS5 Products SDK" (getting-started.pdf) in the SDK. Specifically:
    Using PlugInConfig.txt
    1. If InDesign is running, exit it.
    2. Create a text file named “PlugInConfig.txt” in the InDesign preference directory, and enter
    the following text into it:
    =Path
NOTE: The inDesign preference folder is located in the following directory (where <locale> is a
locale-specific subdirectory; for example, en_US for English):
    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\
    Adobe\InDesign\Version #.#\<locale>
    Windows Vista: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\
    Adobe\InDesign\Version #.#\<locale>
    Mac OS: <user-home>/Library/Preferences/
    Adobe InDesign/Version #.#/<locale>
    3. Open the PlugInConfig.txt file in a text editor and edit the sections as desired. For example,
the following tells InDesign to load every plug-in in the sdk folder:
    =Path
    "C:\Adobe InDesign CS5 Products SDK\build\win\debug\sdk
NOTE: The preceding example is only for Windows. On Mac OS, use ‘:’ as the path separator.
NOTE: You also can use a “=Exclude” tag to exclude a certain plug-in from being loaded. This
is useful if you do not want to load everything in the “=Path” folder.
NOTE: This is target specific. You cannot launch the release version of InDeisgn with debug
plug-ins. It is convenient to add both debug and release paths, commenting out the  target that is not in use. For single-line comments, use “;” (semicolon).
    4. Save the PlugInConfig.txt file.
    5. Restart InDesign.
    6. Verify the set of plug-ins loaded by selecting the About Plug-ins menu.

  • How to Install AIR appliaction Without Admin Rights

    Hi All,
Is it possible to install AIR application without admin rights, because many of our user don't have Admin login. I should make the
AIR application to install in all user login. is it possible?
can anyone know how to do this? please post your suggestions and solutions.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vasanth

On Mac OS, to install or update an AIR application, the user needs to have adequate system privileges to install to the application directory (and administrative privileges if the application needs to update the runtime). On Windows, a user needs to have administrative privileges.
IT administrators can install AIR applications silently using standard desktop deployment tools. For more information, see "Enterprise deployment" in the following page:

  • How do I use the maintenance service to upgrade PCs without admin rights?

Our users do not have admin rights on their systems so FireFox is WAY out of date. I read about the Maintenance Service in the wiki and hoped it might allow FireFox to update itself without admin rights. I installed v21 and FireFox does not update itself so I am not sure what to make of things. In fact, it does not even seem to try since click in on Help, About shows "Updates available at http://www.firefox.com"
I have seen some postings indicating others have experienced similar issues with not being able to update as "users", but no solution. I really do NOT want to require our folks use Chrome, which works without any users given its design. Suggestions?

The maintenance service can only be installed by someone that has administrator permissions (you get an UAC alert), so you can only use this service for updating in the background if someone with administrator permissions has installed this service (maintenanceservice_installer.exe).
