  • Insufficient memory error while installing JRE 1.2.2

    At the moment I am having some problems installing JRE 1.2.2 on a HP proliant DL380 G3 machine (with two XEON 2.8Gb processors) with windows 2000 SP 3 installed. The error is Insufficient memory available to run setup. Close any programs.. bla bla. Error 111. While the machine has 4Gb of memory installed and only 200mb is in use.
    I have tried 1.2.2.011 (Pentium 4 bug solved) and 1.2.2.014, both with the same result. Unfortunaly I need the 1.2.2 and cant switch to version 1.3 or 1.4.
    PS I also experienced almost the same problem while installing Oracle 8.1.7 on the same machine. And solved this by renaming symcjit.dll to symcjit.old and use the next installation options : JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=-nojit -ms64m -mx128m
    Has anyone seen this problem and solved it or is there any way to give some additional options to the JRE installer?
    Thanks in advance,
    Frank Zomerdijk

    I found a bug report at: http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4643265.html
    And there by the "work a round";
    In order to install j2ee onto your server (with 4Gb or more) you might use one of those:
    1) Pull some DIMMs out of your server till the memory is less
    than 4g. Install j2ee and than put the DIMMs back.
    2) Install j2ee on the other machine and than just copy
    installed directories over to your server.
    I will test the second option tomorrow.

  • Error installing jre 1.4.0_01

    I have installed and installed the sdk and jre version 1.4.0_01. To cleanup my environment I uninstalled all of my java products and began re-installing them. When I tried to install jre 1.4.0_01 (this is the first product that I tried to re-install) I get a message from the installer
    "You already have the Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.0_01 already installed on this machine...."
    I have went thru the registry and deleted any reference to java 1.4.0_01. Any help would be great.
    Thanks.

    Yep, i had installed the JDK, but when I found out that the plug-in app was not operating properly in the control panel, I figured something had gone wrong. I uninstalled everything and tried installing just the JRE, when I noticed this error.
    I used Iolo's system mechanic to try and clean the registry and run all kinds of analysis and cleaners on my system.
    No dice, still have that problem.
    I believe I may blow away windows and move to a Linux desktop

  • When installing iMS 5.1 I get the following fatal JRE error near the end of the installation:

    When installing iMS 5.1 I get the following fatal JRE error near the end of the installation:
    The application command "jre -cp "/opt/iplanet/ims5/bin/msg/imta/classes/imtaconfig.jar" com.iplanet.msg.imta.config.InitConfig -d thc-tsg.com -r thc-tsg.com -h development.thc-tsg.com -c /opt/iplanet/ims5/msg-development/imta/config" could not be run.
    OS - Solaris 8
    iDS 4.13

    The IMS installer currently hardcodes the path to a JRE that it wants to run. This JRE is the one that is included in the kit, so you <i>must</i> install the JRE that comes with it.
    The only way around this is to use the embedded JRE during installation and not to set the JAVA_HOME environment variable. Check if you have it defined by issuing the command 'echo $JAVA_HOME'.

    I am guessing that the item has installed some MS files that are incompatible with your version of Windows.
    Do a GOOGLE search for "Incompatible version of RPC stub" and
    check this MS Knowledge Base article:

  • JRE 1.7.0.04 install failure - error 1311 despite the file being there

    Any of my attempts to install JRE 1.7.0.04 fail regardless of whether I try online or offline installer. I get error code 1311 ("Source file not found: C:\Documents and Settings\äöäöäöä\Application Data\Sun\Java\jre1.7.0_04\Data1.cab, verify that the file exists and you can access it"). Well, the file in question does exist and I can access it fine. I can also unpack it manually without apparent problems. The installer just can't locate it. My first suspicion is that this has something to do with nonstandard letters in the file path, though I have no way of confirming it.

    I tried to reproduce this issue using the same user name as you have mentioned but that did not create any issue in the installation process.
    I would recommend you to completely delete all the files from previous installation attempt and try fresh install.
    Also at times it is helpful to empty recycle bin and temp files which in some cases may have prevented succuessful installation of software.

    Error: IKernal.exe

    What are the consequences of this?
    I exited the error.
    I check and the Java runtime engine is install.
    The demo package for the Java engine seem to be functioning/working.

    I had the exact same error installing JDK 1.4.1_02 (02 not 01!) on Windows XP Professional.
    I launched some application using the JDK 1.4.1_02 java, and everything appeared to work, similar to what you said.
    I had installed JDK 1.4.1_01 in the past, and don't remember getting that error message.

  • JRE error when starting runInstaller on Solaris 8

    Help! I'm getting the following error when I try to start ./runInstaller :

    Since Solaris 8 already comes with 1.1.8 and 1.2.2 installed what could be causing this?
    Thanks!

    This could be a problem with mounting of CD.

  • Help Installing JRE, Locked Folder?

    I am trying to install JRE on a brand new computer I just built. It has WinXP SP2 Media Center Edition installed as the OS. I am using Firefox for a browser... Everytime I go to install, web based and locally from the downloaded installer I get the same error message everytime at the end of the installation.
    JRE could not be installed in to the folder because it is locked. Please unlock the folder or close the application that is using it.
    I've tried everything I can think of, I can't think of any apps that I have running that would be causing a conflict... esspecially since I have tried my own install paths on different drives. Can someone please help me with this? Thanks!

    This search appears to suggest that there's a problem with the .dll's in your machine. You might try doing a check of the system files.

  • JSPM gives JRE error during Update of CE 7.11 to CE 7.2

    Hello Gurus,
    I downloaded the SPS files for CE 7.2 update from CE 7.11 SPS4.
    I started the update using CEUpdateManager. After some time, the update failed and after that when I try to run it again, it fails to login to JSPM and I understand from JSPM logs that JSPM is looking for JRE 1.6.0 or higher, whereas CE 7.11 has JVM 5 which corresponds to JRE 1.5.
    The thing is, CE 7.11 and CE 7.2 systems do not need separate JDK/JRE installations as they use these from SAPJVM. But during my upgrade, JSPM has got updated to 7.20 whereas the rest of the components did not and that is where update failed. So now, even if I try to run JSPM, it does not start and only gives the following error message at the command prompt:
    Updating JSPM content...
    Updating local copy of SAP JVM ...
    Execution failed: Java Runtime version 1.5.0_17 detected. JSPM requires Java Run
    time 1.6.0 or later to run.

            at com.sap.sdt.jspm.main.Jspm.main(Jspm.java:317)
    In JSPM.LOG file, I can see:
    Error]: Java Runtime version 1.5.0_17 detected. JSPM requires Java Runtime 1.6.0 or later to run.
    I tried to manually patch JVM to 6 level using note 1025085 and tried bootstrapping as well using note 710663 but none of these worked and upon restarting the system, still SAPJVM 5 is getting copied by sapcpe.
    Please suggest how exactly should I solve the problem of JSPM needing jre 1.6.0 while SAPJVM providing 1.5. I am pretty sure that installing JRE 1.6.0 on my machine will not help in CE systems and still I have tried that but to no help.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Shitij

    Hi Mahesh,
    I had already downloaded SAPJVM 6 as well. My stack queue was fine.
    But, now my issue is solved. It turns out the CEUPDATEMANAGER file that we were using earlier, was still for 7.11 only, whereas we had to use the one from 7.20. We did not realize this mistake because the stack files had been downloaded almost a month ago.
    We have now downloaded the 7.20 CEUPDATEMANAGER SAR file and the upgrade worked smoothly.
    Thanks,
    Shitij

  • WebStart 1.4.2 doesn't find installed JRE for 1.4.2 ?

    I have installed J2RE1.4.2_04. As far as I can tell, it works just fine and there are registry keys set for
    Java Runtime Environment for 1.4 and 1.4.2_04 which are set to the same thing. However, when I
    run my webstart app, I get an error with the general information that "The application has requested a
    version of the Java 2 platform (JRE) that is currently not locally installed. Java Web Start was unable to
    automatically download and install the requested version. The JRE version must be installed manually."
    Having turned tracing and output on, I look in the log and see
    javawsApplicationMain: Installed JRE: null
    So, for some reason, WebStart doesn't think I have an installed JRE. Could someone tell me why?
    I have tried various incantations of version, such as
    <j2se version="1.4.2_04"/>
    <j2se version="1.4.2"/>
    <j2se version="1.4.2+"/>
    <j2se version="1.4.2*"/>
    All of these result in the same error. If I try either of
    <j2se version="1.4+"/>
    <j2se version="1.4"/>
    WebStart recognizes that I do in face have a JRE installed, but then I have other problems. I would
    prefer to get the 1.4.2 problem fixed first since I require 1.4.2 and some boxes have 1.4.1 on them.
    Thanks for any ideas!
    : jay

    This is confusing and done poorly in my opinion but the only "versions" of Java 2 are 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 (1.5 is coming). If you specify anything past those (as your first four examples do), Web Start assumes a product specific version and you have to provide a URL to download it. Even if it is on the machine, Web Start downloads the version and stores a separate copy of it.
    See http://java.sun.com/products/javawebstart/developers.html#auto for details.
    I think the only thing you can do if multiple versions of 1.4 are installed is go into Web Start preferences and uncheck the box so it is not enabled.

  • Trying to install JRE 7u7

    Hello,
    I'm trying to install JRE 7u7 x64 and am having a few problems.
    I can run the installer and its fine until it begins to install. Then an error message appears saying:
    "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable."
    It is referring to "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk 1.7.0_02\\", which doesn't exist on my computer.
    It then comes up with Error 1714:
    "The older version of Java 7 Update 7 cannot be removed."
    The installer then quits.
    Because of this I cannot run any .jar files at the moment.
    Is there any way I can fix this and install a working JRE?
    I've successfully installed the JDK 7u7 x64 and u2 previously.
    I had JRE which worked OK before this but it suddenly stopped. I'm afraid I'm not sure whether it was 7u2 or version 6.
    Thanks for any help.

  • Windows 7 x64 installing JRE 1.5.0_12

    Hi,
    I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, I need to install JRE 1.5.0_12, I tried my existing 32-bit installer and it fell over with the message "Could not find the main class. Program will exit", however the runtime does seem to have installed. Next I tried installing the 64-bit JRE, the installer completed without errors, however it does not appear in the Control Panel and I can only launch the java.exe from a DOS prompt, the applet is not recognised by the aplications that did recognise the 32-bit JRE. Can anyone shed some light on why this is?
    One final question, if the JRE ClassID for 1.5.0_12 (32-bit) is CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-0012-ABCDEFFEDCBA, is this the same for the 64-bit JRE?
    Thanks.

    I don't believe those VMs are supported on that OS. So you might expect that some things are not going to work.
