Install Labview 8 Error

Dear all,
I have Labview 7 in my PC, I have not uninstalled it. When I try to install Labview 8, Labview installation shell comes up with an error said that I need to have IE 4.0 or higher. I have IE 7, but my default web browser is Firefox. Is that a matter at all? How should I solve it
thanks
Marco

When Trying to Install Labview Deveopment Suite 8.6.1 on Windows 7 Get " *** Error: Windows SDK Function Returned an Error (Error Code -12)"
I assume a compatability issue will Labview installer and Windows 7.  Is there a work arround?

I figured as much, but maybe if enough peole are interested NI will be pushed to a solution.
It's not that the programm won't run, it's that the installer fails before it even gets installed.
I am using Windows 7 RC Build 7100.  It installs and runs just fine in Virtual XP Mode on Virtual PC for windows 7 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx) which I find works better than compatability mode.

  • SDK error while installing Labview 8.2 on Windows 7

    Hello all,
I have been trying to install LabVIEW 8.2 version software on Windows 7. I always see an SDK error - 12. I saw an helpful artcle in knowledge base but i am not clear why this is happening?
Could somebody explain indetail whether LV8.2 is compatible with Windows 7?
If it is not compatible then i would like install vista or XP on my new Laptop, to work in LV8.2.
    Regards
    Visu

    Hi Viswa,
Im afraid LabVIEW 8.2 is not compatible with Windows 7. If you wanted to use LabVIEW Windows 7 you would need a later version of LV, such as LabVIEW 2009.
If you need to use LabVIEW 8.2 then installing Vista or XP on your machine would mean you could.

  • Error 1935 when installing LabVIEW on Windows 7

    Hello, everyone.
I'm new to Windows 7 and I need to install LabVIEW 8.5.1 and 2010.
The problem is that the installation process (for both versions) gives me a lot of errors related to Microsoft Visual C (code 1935), like the popups attached.
    What could be happening?
    Kind regards,

    Hi Daniel,
LabVIEW 8.5.1 is not supported on windows 7. To LabVIEW 2010 you have turn off, during installation, firewall, antivirus and spyware blockers.

  • Error 1322 installing labview 6.0.2 professional

Installing labview 6.0.2 Professional from your cd rom, after choosing the SCC option, appears on installer information menu, this message:
"error 1322 a portion of the folder path " exceed length allowed by the system".
    What is happened ?
P.S. My operative system is Windows 95.

    Hello,
This problem is probably resulting from a faulty install module with NI-VISA...you could verify this if you try the install without NI-VISA and it works properly. Anyway, to fix the problem, please follow these steps:
    1. Run the "instmsi.exe" program from your LabVIEW CD.
    2. Detach the file below to your hard drive.
    3. Go to Start >> Run, and type the following:
    msiexec /i "path to lv60.msi" TRANSFORMS="path to visafix.mst"
Where the paths within the quotes are the actual paths to the lv60.msi file (on your CD-ROM) and your visafix.mst file (which you detached somewhere on your hard drive). Once you've done this, the LabVIEW installation will start, and hopefully you will not encounter the error again.
If you do continue to have problems, howev
er, I recommend you install LabVIEW without NI-VISA, then go to our website and download and install NI-VISA separately.
Please let me know if you're continuing to have any problems. Thanks for your patience on this issue, and have a pleasant day.

    Hello everyone,
I am trying to install LabVIEW Student Edition 2010 on Windows 7 64-bit. I get SDK function error. I searched the knowledgebase questions but it seems the problem is mostly for 2008 versions or older. If anyone knows the solution to this, it would be of great help. Thank you.

  • Error installing LabVIEW 2011 on Win 7

I'm getting an error installing LabVIEW 2011 Professional:
I found a thread concerning missing MSIs, which suggested that one run setup.exe with the /log function, so I did, but I don't think it actually says anything useful.
I also found a Microsoft download page for WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe, which is the thing that's supposed to be missing. This seems to be an old version of the installer (most recent compatible OS = WinXP SP2), so I don't really feel like installing this on my Windows 7 system.
    Help!! Thanks in advance.
    -- Philip

    Hi Keller,
I'm Jamie an Applications Engineer at NI UK.
It does seem that you are missing some of the necessary support files required for the installer to run correctly, the details of which are available in the KnowledgeBase article here. Did you download the install files or are you installing from disk?
In addition to the setup.exe file, ensure that you have copied the following folders to the target PC or destination folder when creating an installer with LabVIEW.
    bin
    license
    supportfiles
Hope this helps get you up and running with LabVIEW 2011, let me know if you experience any further issues.
    Thanks

  • Fatal Error when installing LabView 8.5

I encounter a fatal error when I attempt to install LabView 8.5. The error that occurs has the following in its details:
    ".\UberInstaller.cpp(1871): IInstallerError 10014
Fatal Error. A failure has occurred in NISystemInfo.
    CoLoadLibrary failed on C:\lv8.5\bin\NISysInf.dll"
I am installing from a system that previously had LabView 8.2 installed, however everything was uninstalled before I began installing the new version.
No hardware is connected in my computer.
I copied the files from the DVD to my harddrive and am still failing to install it from there.
The disc should be fine as my supervisor had used the same disc to install on his computer. ( our licence allows this )
    Any help would be appreciated.

    IInstallerError 10014
I searched for and found the same error in this forum that I am experiencing. I am trying to install the NI Switch Executive and the install fails every time. This is a fresh install and I am not running any antivirus s/w. It is a DVD copy of the Switch Executive s/w. Has there been any conclusive explanation as to what is happening with this? I have included a .jpg of the error. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Developer Error when Installing Labview 8.5

    Hi there,
When I was installing Labview 8.5 directly from the CD, I had error message 1311. Following the recommendation posted on the discussion forum, I copied the CD to the C drive and installed Labview 8.5 successfully. However, when I tried to follow the same procedure when installing the device driver CDs,i.e. by first installing the CD to a folder in the C drive and installing it by launching setup.exe, I had the following error:
"Developer error. The following errors were found in your ini file: 1 Specified file not found. [MSIEngine] WinNTPath = SupportFiles\WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe       Correct the ini file and try again"
When I checked the setup.ini file, under the [MSIEngine] entery, I found the following text:
    "[MsiEngine]
    WinNTPath=bin\WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe
    RequiredVersion=3.0.0.0
    CommandLine=/passive /norestart"
How can I correct the ini file? Should I change the WinNTPath to the one generated by the error message? Will this solve the problem? Your help would be very much appreciated.
    Regards.

  • Installing LabView 8.6, Getting "Internal error 2738"

    Vista Sp1 Home
    Dell Q6600
    VS2005/8 installed
    LabView 8.5, TestStand 4.6
I had some trouble getting the TPC-2106 to work becuase I realized I had failed to install the drivers for it to use it as a project target.  Vista installed the WMDC (windows mobile device center) program so I can browse the TPC as if it was a HD the second time I rebooted the device.  I know I had problems installing LabView the first time a few weeks back, some errors of this and that (I don't recall them exactly).
Now I have tried to re-install LabView 8.6 Pro Dev [NI Developer Suite 4Dvds 2008 3rd Qtr] and got a series of Internal Error 2738's, and the latest one is for the touch screen driver set (2rd item to puke, 3rd of 40 I picked to install all items, so I killed the install).  I will try to delete the old install of 8.6 and retry.  I saw some stuff about a MS error with vbscript.dll on some other website..?...?
Anyone seen this?  Why do I get this?
    www.certtech.com

    Hi Abales,
The issue seems to be with Microsoft VB Script as you rightly guessed. This doesn’t seem to be an NI issue, so I am not sure if this will fully resolve this.
However when looking into this issue, I came across a Microsoft Forum based on this issue.
They suggest to go START --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Command Prompt. You need to run this as an Administrator. To do this you need to right click on the Command Prompt at select Run as administrator.
Once you have done this, type regsvr32 vbscript.dll This will re-register the specific dll that maybe causing the issue.
    I hope this helps.

  • Memory Error when installing labview 6.1

I had labview 6.0, 6.1 and RT installed on my PC (windows 2000). I tried to install application builder but I got Error that I have no labview installed, so I tired to uninstall RT, but I was abe to. Then I found out that I can't install or uninstall any of the Labview versions. So I went and deleted the whole NI directory, all the keys related to NI in the registry file, and Labview.ini. Now I'm trying to install labview 6.1, but I'm getting memory error and setup terminates. What can I do!

First, I recommend contacting NI support at ni.com/ask and starting an incident report.
Second, I recommend either restoring your registry from backup, or wiping your system and starting over. I know it doesn't sound like fun, and it isn't, but it is probably the only way now you can guarantee a good clean registry. Alternatively, go through the registry again and make sure all National Instruments and LabVIEW entries are deleted.
In the future, and I make this recommendation to everyone, you should, as a safe practice, make a backup of your registry before you install anything, and also periodically. Archive these and label them with the list of programs installed, or with any new programs that have been installed.
    The Windows registry is obsolete,
and complete hopeless when it comes to a stable system. There is no automated backup of the registry to my knowledge. The registry is the biggest source of problems with Windows, followed of course by DLLs (everyone has their own version, and noone's is alike, much less works right.) The registry can be backed up by using "Export" from the regedit program. Backups can be restored with the "Import" function in regedit of course.
    Good luck.
