Install Leaves Folder on Desktop

The install left a folder [Adobe CS3] on the Desktop. I think
it's where it "unpacked" the install bundle.
Is it OK to delete this folder? Should I back it up first?

The folder you are talking about is having the setup for the Acrobat XI. if in future you need it again then you should keep it as a backup. if you have the download available in your Adobe account then you can delete ythis folder as of now and download it again and install if needed.

There is no download for 10.4.x or 10.5.x, there is a very slim chance you can get 10.5 by calling Apple, but usually you can only get it on eBay & such.
Tiger Requirements...

I have installed LR 6 upgrade desktop only and won't "go there" on the desktop

I have installed LR 6 upgrade desktop only, 3X now (extracting the files etc) it is not marrying up with LR5 (also an upgrade from LR4..and 3) I am not interested in CC- (2 fold, accumulating cost, ability to edit when power or server is down). I really want access mostly for the added erasing and am frustrated I cannot get to it. I really need to have this on my desktop with its new features and not have to install every time (HDR and merging are there in the old LR5 listed as LR3 catalog-6-3-2)

Just got off the line - after another 1hr & 5 minutes this time - trying to get them to refund. This is day 4 of this saga. I must have made a dozen phone calls & tried the on-line chat thing several times with no response. I did finally get it (LR6 upgrade) started downloading, and then it said it required a newer OS for the Mac it's on. I started looking into that - I have 7.5, and it requires 8.0 or newer. The reviews for the later OS 'upgrades' are poor - twice as many people hate it as like it. I tried to tell Adobe I'm not going to voluntarily walk into that mess. Their sales pitch states they will refund for 30 days. They don't say they are going to make you suffer if you try to get them to follow through. Very poor communications. Toward the end, one finally said he would process a refund, and it would take a week or so. Any other questions? Yes - can you provide me with a phone # to actually contact you in case this doesn't work out any better than it has for the past 4 days?
I told him the 3 #'s I had all lead to dead-ends - "Try Chat". The number he gave me was one of those. I called it again while we were still on-line and got exactly the same thing. (Surprise!!) It will not let you talk to anyone if you are calling about LR, unless you subscribe to that CC scam. There is no option to talk with someone about a billing/refund issue.
I have 19 page transcript of the 'chat' I just had if you are interested. Glad you got your problem fixed. Interesting to know that Adobe had nothing to do with it - you/husband/paid IT help had to figure it out. Good luck down the line, but - I doubt I will ever buy anything from them again.

Cannot create a new folder on desktop.

Hello. When I am trying to create a new folder on desktop (right click->new->new folder) it gives me error message (i dont have english version of windows 8.1 so I had to translate it):
Item wasnt found.
Item is no longer placed in <%3 NULL:OpText>. Check the location of item and try again the action.

Hi,
As Ed mentioned before, are you able to create folder in other places?
It is usually caused by incorrect delection of some registry entries, maybe accidently by yourself or by some registry cleaner\anti-virus software\bad-coded programs you installed recently.
So quick fix is that you can restore the PC to a previous state with restore point if you have. (please note that you will lose some recent settings)
You can also run sfc/scannow to check and fix if there're some missing system files.
Or try the registry fix mentioned in the following link (Please first backup your registry, any incorrect changes on registry will cause serious damage)

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.

To take photos from iPhoto and put them onto a folder on Desktop, first create a folder on Desktop. Right-click on Desktop and create a new folder.
Then, open iPhoto, and you have two ways to export photos:
1. Select the photos you want to copy to Desktop with Command key (or go to Edit menu > Select All, if you want to copy all photos), and then, drag them to the folder on Desktop.
2. Select the photos you want to copy to Desktop with Command key, go to File menu > Export, and follow the steps.

To change the screenshot capture location to a new place on your Mac, first think of a location that would serve you properly. We like to place ours in a "Screenshot" folder located inside of the User's "Pictures" folder. To change the location to this new location, open the Terminal and enter the following command:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location /Users/[u]/Pictures/Screenshots/
Replace "[u]" with the name of the user on your system. Once you have entered this command, let's restart the screen capture utility by restarting the SystemUIServer by entering the following command:
killall SystemUIServer
You can optionally log out and back in instead of entering this second command, thus restarting the SystemUIServer. Once restarted, all screen captures taken from here on out will end up in your /Pictures/Screenshots/ folder in the User's home folder on your Mac.

Try a more recent version of my advice. The "for older video cards version" may work when the default version doesn't.

uninstall pse 10 (properly using the adobe uninstaller).
clean - Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
then try reinstalling using the adobe installation file(s).

and ask for an activation count reset.

Basically, as administrator, I can't say if the user installed application using "Install application on remote desktop..." in Control Panel or he just installed it by clicking the .msi executable. I can't find anything that makes any difference.

Please make sure that you are using category view of control panel-programs to check the application. And in addition to “install application on Remote Desktop server” user can also use command line also.

Just sounds the ding, alert, can still slightly navigate the program but can not use any other tools after clicking warp text. I just have to open task manager and close the program. not sure if I'm doing something wrong or maybe I just need to uninstall and re install. Having trouble finding out how to uninstall and reinstall because the program came pre installed on my desktop.

It actually sounds like the warp text window is opening off screen.
Resetting the photoshop elements 10 preferences should fix it.
*Press and hold the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys just after you start the launch of the photoshop elements 10 editor
*Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to delete the adobe photoshop elements setting file
*Press Yes
