I purchased a cd version of lightroom 5 from amazon and need to know how to install it in my mac. Serial number is <serial number removed>. Mac operating system is OSX version10.9.2. Thanks

Download the trial version from the Adobe website.

I downloaded the software directly as you suggested, but still the same error message comes up when I try to install. I also had to do the same thing with my Canon Utilities software, but it doesn't work properly on the mac either. I am begining to suspect that my imac is too old to work with the latest programmes.

I have a new MAC and not over familiar with the OS (10.9.2) i have just downloaded Elements 12 but can't figure out how to install it. There is a setup.exe file but that won't run on MAC what am i missing or is there a separate MAC version i should of downloaded vice a windows one ?

For mac you should have a file ending .dmg not .exe (this is the windows download). Just use the trial: http://www.adobe.com/go/tryphotoshop_elements and license this version with the serial found in the Adobe portal (Find your serial number quickly) Have fun with the software!

I Nearly bought from Amazon too but I found a thread from Adobe stating that the only recognized outlet for lightoom is themselves and other outlets serial numbers will not be guaranteed.
THat at was sufficient for me to buy direct from Adobe, hope you get it sorted.

I'm having trouble installing Lightroom 5 from Creative Cloud. The file seems to download ok, but once it goes into it's installation I get the following error message:

Can I install bundled software from a previous Mac onto Intel based Mac?

I have an G5 iMac computer at work (running 10.3.x, I think) which has Quicken 2005 files on it, and at home I have an Intel-based iMac running OS 10.5.8 and a laptop 15 inch MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard. I'd like to be able to open those Quicken 2005 files at home. When I migrated software initially onto the new computers, it must have been from a Mac with Quicken 2004 installed, and that of course won't open files from a later version.
How can I retrieve Quicken 2005 from my computer at work and install it on the laptop? Would Migration Assistant work for a single application? Or, could I just copy the application on a flash drive and retrieve it from there?

It does, but it won't run software that is incompatible with OS X. It's not that type of emulator. Rosetta is only a code translator that translates PPC code into Intel code. It isn't an emulator for running an older version of OS X for older and incompatible software.
You will need to find a version of Quicken that runs satisfactorily on the new machine. Now you can try Quicken 2005, but I think you will find that it will not run reliably if at all. You may need to get up to a later version. Of course the best solution is the current running version of Quicken, whichever version that is. And, I think it will be an Intel compatible version.

I was wondering if there is a way to install a program being on Windows (8) (bootcamp partition) onto OS Mavericks partition. I got to this situation since my space in Windows is low and ive got plenty of space in MAverickz. I actually tried (being on Windows installing a program) but when specifying the folder for the software install I select MAverickz partition and it said it could not be created in there. I guess there might be a way to allow permision for this.
(The software I tried to install was MATLAB)
