Can I install Lightroom 6 from CD without CD-Drive via an other PC?
You could copy the disk contents to a thumb drive or external hard drive and run the installation from there.
Alternatively install the free version of Creative Cloud; then click the Try button for Lightroom CC 2015. Serialize with the number from your disk packaging to convert to LR6.

Trouble with installing 10.5 from an external firewire drive
I have a family pack of 10.5 and installed it just fine on my macbook. But, I'm having trouble getting my imac DVD player to read the DVD. It just spins and spits it out, and spins and spits it out. The imac is not covered under applecare so spending money to get the DVD drive fixed (which I barely use) is not something I want to do right now.
Anyway, I followed instructions on a this website to install 10.5 from an external firewire drive. (http://iuseapple.com/blog/apple-how-to/advanced-os-x/2007/10/29/how-to-install-l eopard-from-external-firewire-hard-drive/)
But I get stuck and am not able to actually get my imac to boot from the installer. Basically, I am able to use disk utility to create a copy of the disk image on my macbook. That resulting file ends in ".cdr" and it mounts when I double click it.
And I partitioned my firewire hard drive without problems.
I think I'm messing up when it comes to doing the restore. If I try to drag the .dmg mounted file in to the "source" it doesn't work (is greyed out). If I try to drag the mounted .dmg there than it works, but I get an error when I click "restore" (something about scans and images not being found). I tried physically copying the .dmg file onto the partition, but then when I plugged the HD into my imac, I wasn't able to get the imac to boot from the installer.
What am I doing wrong? If someone could walk me through these last steps I'd appreciate it!Okay I finally got around to creating the bootable disk image of 10.5 using Carbon Copy Cloner. Still my iMac is not booting from the firewire drive!
Here's a recap of everything I've tried. I'm at a complete loss now!
- I partitioned the HD into 2 partitions-- a 10gig one for the 10.5 install, the then the rest for Time Machine. I make the partition in Disk Utility on my MacBook.
- I've partitioned the drive a few times-- always partitioning it in APM format (b/c it needs to boot my non-intel iMac).
- I've created the disk image using "restore" in disk utility. I've again tried this a few times.
- I am able to boot my MacBook from the disk image I create! So I know the FW drive is able to be used to boot from!
- Here's what I've tried in terms of getting the iMac to boot from the FW drive. It always just boots to my internal drive instead. Sometimes I briefly see a folder and question mark. I've tried all 3 FW ports. I've selected the install partition at start up in preferences. I've also held down the option key at start up (only my internal drive shows) and I've held down command-option-shift-delete and again I get the question mark and it boots to my internal drive.
- And I installed Carbon Copy Cloner and made the disk image that way on my macbook. Still, I tried everything and the iMac is not able to boot from the firewire drive!
Since my DVD drive is broken, this is the only way for me to install 10.5! Help! -

I purchased and downloaded the update to Lightroom 5 onto my desktop about 6 months ago. Now I wish to buy a laptop.
How do I install Lightroom on the laptop without buying it again ??The same way you did the first time. Download the trial version, install it, activate it with the serial number that you have now. The license entitles you to two installations, but for your own personal use.

I just installed Lightroom 5 from Amazon for my Mac with 10.10.1 software. When I open it I get: "An error occurred when attempting to change modules". It won't import photos and has no side panels under Library. What should I do?
I Nearly bought from Amazon too but I found a thread from Adobe stating that the only recognized outlet for lightoom is themselves and other outlets serial numbers will not be guaranteed.
THat at was sufficient for me to buy direct from Adobe, hope you get it sorted. -
i have a macbook pro from 2006, my internal cd drive is not working and i'm trying to install factory definitions from an external cd drive. the problem is that when i press c nothing happens only appears an interrogation folder. or sometimes appears the apple logo and than back again to the interrogation folder... Help please!!!!

Sending by Dropbox where, To who, to what computer? As your does not start up.
You need to take at least the OS disc to a work Mac computer and create DMG from the OS install disc then restore that DMG to USB thumb drive. Then you can boot the computer from that thumb drive and install the OS. That is if your hard drive is functioning correctly.
Then you can use the App disc in the external CD/DVD drive to load up all the included Applications that come with your version of OS X. -
Trouble Installing Lightroom 5 from Creative Cloud
I'm having trouble installing Lightroom 5 from Creative Cloud. The file seems to download ok, but once it goes into it's installation I get the following error message:

I bought mountain lion, made a bootable flash drive.
I booted from it and it went to upgrading right away!
So I stopped it and went to my former recovery partition I erased my HD because I wanted a clean start.
Now I can't instal mountain lion from the bootable flash drive, and keep getting "installation error. Try again."
and there is no 4 choices window.
I don't know what to do.How did you create the USB install thumb drive? If it was with Disk Utility I have run into this problem and have since used THIS program to make the USB install drive.
As to your problem you only have one option and that is to Reinstall the Original OS X version that came on your computer or if you still have the Lion Recovery Partition use that to reinstall Lion. Or if you system came with Lion and you have No Lion Recovery HD Partition you can boot the system from over the internet and Reinstall Lion.
At startup hold down the Command+Option+r keys until you saa a spinning Globe in the center of the screen. Once that loads Repartition the drive as One partition and then reinstall Lion. -

iirc, you won't be able to or at least you shouldn't, it will take much longer than using a usb install
CHECKLIST
use only a +8gb USB2 flash drive
disconnect ALL devices except kb, mouse
STEPS
do a PRAM reset
open disk utility, confirm you have 1 partition (‘mac HD’ unless you renamed it) and repair permissions TWICE
dl a windows ISO
insert your usb flash drive and open boot camp assistant, choose all options making sure you used the new ISO just dl'd
if you get an error that the windows support software is unavailable, manually dl it here, put it on a separate USB2 drive and install by clicking setup.exe after windows is installed

Moving Lightroom images from hardrive to external drives
How do I successfully move all of my existing Lightroom images from my hardrive to my external drives? I am so nervous to do this but have no more storage on my hardrive. thanks!
It also helps to reorganize things under a few top-level folders if they aren’t already, before moving them, so there are less reconnections to make after the move.
There have been some problems in the past for some people who use NAS or network drives for photos where a move loses files, so if that is what your external location is, then I’d suggest that you COPY the files and then rename the source folder(s) and then reconnect the photos in their new location and make sure everything is ok before deleting the photos off the original location on the internal drive. -

Let me first say I'm a brand new mac user and loving my new macbook pro. A major issue I'm having is that I'm in real estate and can't use my online MLS System without running Windows. I hooked up my old IDE hard drive via USB 2.0 adapter thinking I could run bootcamp and find the necessary installation files from the old hardrive. It looks like bootcamp will only let me install via a CD or DVD. I don't have the original Windows CD. Any thoughts from anyone? Installing PhotoShop CS from an External Hard Drive to PC Vista
My Dell laptop crashed about a year ago, and I was able to have the hard drive backed up to an external. I now need my PhotoShop CS which is on the external hard drive. I need to know how to install PhotoShop, and others in the creative suite, from the external drive. I am having a problem figuring out which files need to be installed first, i.e. .exe and .dll files.
The hard drive is an iMicro 3.5" SATA and IDE HDD

Uah... Who would be so obviously plain stupid? I mean, one can throw away the boxes, manuals and gift wrap, but by all means keep the media in a safe place. *yikes* Anyway, as the others said - without the original install CDs that is a no go and unless the missing disc turns up magically, an upgrade to CS4 is the only way to get going (and that's assuming you know your serials and have registered them).
