Install lion on multiple computers

I have successfully downloaded Lion onto 1 computer and have 4 more that I need to upgrade. Each time I log in to the App store from one of those computers I'm told the software is already "Installed" and so cannot be downloaded again. Any ideas?

Here is every bit of info i have gathered concerning this matter. For some reason it won't let me access the chat i had with a store representative but that doesn't matter. First off any computer this applies too needs to have the Mac App store on it, to share the app that you purchased you will need to log into the account that you first purchased Mac OS X Lion on in the first place to and then redownload the app onto the new computer and install it. This applies to any app that you wish to share on another computer.
Apps from the Mac App Store may be used on any Macs that you own or control for personal use. You may be asked for your Apple ID and password the first time you use an app. You won't have to provide them again unless you use the app on a different computer or there is an update.
This does not apply to purchasing other apps as you can have multiple account on one compute, once again, the only exception would be if there was an update, then you will be require to provided the username and password of the account that the app in this case Mac OS X Lion was purchased on.

So wait. To download other apps I wouldn't have to be logged into the computer using the initial os lion accounts I'd? If I get lion and i log into the other computer and select install from the purchase history, after authorizing of course, I won't have to log into my account, the one initially used to buy and install lion, to buy and install other apps onto the other computer?

So in summary, yes after you have initially downloaded it you can then goto another computer that you have access to and redownload it and install it there. That computer will have to be apart of your authorized computers which again is up to 5 authorized machines at one time per account. This is shared with iTunes so five maximum for both, as far as what I believe the store rep meant fur OS updates you would need to log into the account the OS was purchased to get upgrades.
Other than taking up one of the authorized computers this should have no other affect on your purchasing ability. If you have any issues with this or more questions, please let me know and I would be more than happy to address them for you.

Basically, to download on multiple macs without buying 3 times I would :
1. buy and install on my mac
2. log into my account (the one i bought lion on)
3. authorize my account for use on my parent(s)' computer(s) (do i need to do this? didn't get this question answered)
4. either check purchase history for os lion or click buy now while logged into the account I initially bought it with and install on that computer
From what i've gathered from the store representative I've found that I need to use the account I got lion under for any further purchases on that computer. Is this true? If so does it affect iTunes at all (buying music and such)?

HERE ARE THE SUMMERIZED STEPS:
1. go ahead and buy/download os lion on the account of your choice (make sure you know that this account needs to be used whenever you want to download os lion on multiple computers)
2. before going on, perhaps backing up the installer file upon completion of download would be good. This applies to people who have spotty internet as the installer file apparently disappears (self destructs) after installation but you can always re-download for free using the account initially used to install/buy/download.
3. Go to the computer you wish to install os lion on. Open up itunes then log into itunes using the same account that you used to purchase lion on. then go to the store tab at the top left of the screen (there should be an apple symbol, then iTunes in bold then there should be a tab further along the right side called store. and, under that, go to authorize this computer. If you do this and it says it's already authorized then thats good.
4. Open up the mac app store. Log into the account used to initially purchase lion. Go to purchase history and click install.
Now here is the catch. According to an email sent by an apple representative for the mac app store, there are limiations:

This means that if you are not using this method for personal use on your OWN computer it is a violation of terms of service. For example: there is a feature in OS lion that allows you to drag and drop files from one computer with lion to another computer with lion. If you were to do that so you could store files on another family members computer (and then proceed to access them now and then) it is ok.

yes you would have to log onto her computer using your own apple id if you want it to update (assuming your id was the one downloading lion) and no for the second question. The itunes Representative said it shouldn't have any impact on your purchasing ability.....
By the way, i don't think you're allowed to install lion on your friend's computer. Unless you are using it for yourself. As the rep said "if there was some personal use well then it would meet the conditions." so if you were to transfer, say, pictures for storage on your friend's computer then i think it'd be fine.

I would like to ask whether there is some announced feature about installation of Mac OS X Lion on multiple computers with different accounts. I've read that if I have more computers and using the same ID, I can install just one copy of Lion on all of them. However, we have two MacBooks with two accounts (my account and account of my wife). If I imagine that the installation might have few gigs, I would prefer to download just one copy and purchase 2 licenses rather than download 2 x the installation file (I have some FUP limit). So is there some announced feature, which would fix my problem? Or I have to wait until Apple will release the Lion and then see what the possibilities of installation will be?

True, but while you have separate accounts there is nothign stopping you from creating a new user for your second Mac and setting up your Apple ID there as well, provided it is your Mac (which I would imagine it is, being that they're both in your household). Unlike applications which may be registered to a given Apple ID, the OS likely will not be registered as such (dont take my word on this though).

I have installed Lion on my desktop computer. How do I download Lion for my laptop. Yes, I did pay for this, but it was a download from the store. The directions to do this for multiple computers seem non-existant. Additionally, when I log in to my Apple account it does NOT note that I have purchased Lion at all. When you purchase Lion from the Mac App Store, you can install it on all your authorized Mac computers. Just sign in to the Mac App Store from each Mac and download Lion from the Purchases list.
The icon say's install instead of the price so it recognises that I have purchased it all ready but it does not download.
May be a connection problem, just try again. Go to the purchased tab, when you click Install, you should be asked for your Apple Account, then you should see:

We users can't speak for Apple about your free Lion status or problems downloading, reissuing a download.
It's possible Apple could be spacing out the downloads as not to knock theservers offline. So be patient.
If after a week or so when the initial rush is over, and you still haven't gotten your Lion, I suggest you contact Apple.
Mission critical
If your using Mac's in a mission critical type environment or have third party hardware or software you must rely upon working correctly. It's advised to wait until all the bugs, driver updates, third party software and other issues are resolved before upgrading. This might take several months. Then if you do so, do one machine at a time andcarefully test everything before full deployment.

You need to purchase Leopard. Not only are you not legally allowed to use her disk to install on your system it may not work and could mess your system up

Yes, just copy the Lion installer app to the other Macs and run it from there.
Unfortunately, the Lion installer self destructs after running it the first time. So if you didn't make a backup copy of it before installing, you'll have to download it again. As long as you log in to the Mac App Store with the same account you used the preivious time, you shouldn't be charged again.

The license agreement permits installation on 3 computers in the household if you download Lion from the App store. How is this done.? When I try to install on the second computer in the household, the app store just says "installed".

The answer depends on how you purchased the first copy of the app. If you downloaded the trial and then purchased an activation code, download again and apply the same code. This assumes that you purchased a Family license. If you purchased on disk, load from disk, no code required. If your disk or your code purchase was a single license, you're on the honor system to deactivate the original computer's copy. if the disk or code was a family pack, you can load on four additional computers.
If you purchased from the MacAppStore, you can just download on another of your computers. Log into the Mac App Store on the second computer using the same account as you used on the first computer, and go to Purchased Apps and start the download.

It appears the time has come in our small business to justify the need for Acrobat Standard. My question is, if I pay for the full version, how many downloads are we allowed. My small business uses only one computer but we have plans to update this computer with a newer one.
Will I be able to download Acrobat Standard on the new computer without having to pay again? This computer is about 5 years old. I would hate to pay for this now and find out in a few months that I cannot transfer it to another computer.

A retail license of Acrobat can be used to install on 2 computers as per the End User License Agreement.
If you no longer want to use the Acrobat installed on the older computer then you can navigate to the 'Help' menu and select 'Deactivate' before installing it on the new computer.
