Install Logic on second computer?

Hello,
I run Logic 8 on a MacPro with 10.5.6.
I also have Logic 7.1, with the old blue USB key, on a G4 PowerBook, running 10.3.9.
Just bit the bullet and ordered a new Macbook Pro.
Please, what is the best way to migrate or copy my current Logic install from the MacPro
to the new laptop?
Many many thanks in advance,
Peace,
Ed

Hi.
Simuliar sort of situation I was planning to call Apple about. My fiancee bought me Logic Pro recently but sort of putting the "Cart before the horse" I don't have a mac just yet (crazy I know but she just assumed that I've eventually get it!). She does however have a macbook pro and I want to install Logic on her Macbook pro until I get mine down the road in a few months. At that time I would simply uninstall it from her laptop and install on my new one but I'm worried about licensing. If I uninstall Logic from hers, can I simply install on my new one without using up a 1 of two licenses? If not, I would just wait until I get my own.
Thanks!!

  • Install Lightroom on second computer?

How do I contact Adobe to get a second copy of Lightroom to install on a second computer? It says you can do this with one license, but they don't say how to contact Adobe to get the second copy. I tried using my serial number when the trial was over and it does not work.
    thanks

    Hi,
I just bought LR2 through the online store.  I have installed it on my desk top and my lap top.  I used the same ser. # for both installs and had no problem at all.  I also installed pse7 from disc on both machines with no problem.  I dont have the reason why it is not working for you.  you should be able to do what you want.   The only thing I can think of is if you had one machine running the program while you were trying to install the other one the install may have been stopped because you can only use one machine at a time.
    Good luck

  • Question: How do you install CC on second computer?

Question: Bought CC. Installed it on my computer at work. It works nicely. I was promised when I signed up that each license could be installed on a second computer. When I log in on my home office computer, all I can see is trial versions of individual programs — not CC (as promised). How should I proceed? Retro-compatibility with CS6 is *challenging*.

  • Installing Photoshop on second computer without original installation CD

I have been upgrading Photoshop on my desktop for years and have just ordered the CS5 upgrade. I now want to also install it on my laptop.  Can I do this with the upgrade CD?  I no longer have the original CD and I was using Windows 3.1 at the time anyway.
    Thank you!  Kathy Juron

Hi Kathy, you don't need a previous version installed on that second computer, but in order for the upgrade installation to work on new computer, you'll need the serial number of a prior version to enter at the time of the upgrade install...
It doesn't have to be the very original version you had, just a prior version (up to three versions back).  Each time you upgrade, you get/have a new serial key.

  • Trouble installing Captivate on second computer

Captivate was installed on my second computer (have a work computer at office and second at telework site)
When I launch Captivate it pops upt box "sign in required", but it asks for a certificate.
If I hit 'yes' or 'view certificate' it goes in long wait mode, then tells me I'm not connected to internet.
So I never get opportunity to put in my username/password/license code

    Screen shots
    If I select Yes
Timer wheel spins for about a minute then
If I select View Certificate I get
My telework computer is a virtual clone of my office desktop.
I'm not an administrator for the machine. But the admin who installed it was also unable to put in the license info.
It's been several months since it was purchased and installed on my telework computer.
    Hope this helps.

how do I install photoshop on a second computer. detailed info

On my first computer, which has mac OSX 10.6.8 operating system, I was able to install photoshopCC
On the second computer, which has the same operating system, I says the operating system is not supported by photoshop anymore.
Is there anything I can do to navigate this problem without upgrading my operating system?
When you say you were able to install on OS X 10.6.8 on your first computer, how long ago did you do that? The reason I ask is that Photoshop CC supports 10.6.8, but Photoshop CC 2014 (released this month) does not. That might be why the current version won't install. What you could do instead on your second machine is use the Previous Versions feature of the Creative Cloud app to install one of the older versions of Photoshop that does support 10.6.8, either Photoshop CS6 or Photoshop CC.
Also, regarding CC activation: You don't have to manually deactivate installations of software you installed with the Creative Cloud desktop application. As you install the software on more machines, it will let you use the two most recent installations you signed into, while automatically signing you out of all older installations.

  • Why can't I install on a second computer?

Why can't I install Premier Elements 12 on a second computer without paying for it again. The computer I originally installed the program on died. When I open Premier 12 on the second computer a window pops up to either buy it or use it on a trail basis. I already paid for it once.

There could be several scenarios for your situation.
    1. You purchased Premiere Elements 12 as a download to a Windows computer and you want to use those downloaded 12 installation files on a Mac computer.
    2. You already have the same purchased serial number on more than 2 of your computers. If this is the case and you want to download to a 3rd computer, then you need to deactivate that same purchased serial number from one of the 2 computers.
    a. you can deactivate the purchased serial number from the working computer
    b. you will need Adobe via its Adobe Chat to deal with the purchased serial number trapped on the crashed computer.
Please review and determine which scenario applies to you. If none, please give more details.

First thing to check would be the obvious "zero or o" errors.
If that does not do it, perhaps this will help?

  • Trying to install on a second computer takes me to "Billing Info"

When trying to download and install Lion on my second computer, I go to the MAS - Purchased - and Lion is there with all my other purchased apps.  On this computer (without Lion) it says "Install" to the right of Lion.  I click on Install and it then takes me to my Apple ID Billing Info page and apparently wants me to confirm my credit card (pre-filled except for the CV code).  Is this going to charge me a second time...or is it truly just a confirmation of the credit card I used to purchase Lion initially?

John...the best instructions for this seem to be at http://tidbits.com/article/10253.  You can vary things as necessary, but I've given up and just use native Gmail since for me it's simply the best.  That, pluse Google Calendar and I'm happy.  Everything else is Mac, but I need to have a 1000% perfect sync with our Android phones, so this just works for me.

  • HT4722 install fcpx on second computer?  it keeps reading "error"

i've been trying to install (already purchased) fcp x on a second computer (macbook pro)
and it stops at around 850 mb's, and then i get an "error" prompt.
    any suggestions?

Don't bother with the download if it's causing problems.
Simply copy the app across  with a memory stick or hard drive etc.  .  .  .  .  .  that's all there is to it and much quicker.

  • Installing LR5 on second computer that is a Macbook Pro; 1st computer is desktop PC

I recently purchased a Macbook Pro to use for my photography work because of its exceptional display.  The Macbook Pro will be my second computer for working with Lightroom 5.6 and Photoshop CS5.  My first computer is a desktop PC operating Windows 7.  Is it possible to extend my license to two computers with different operating systems?
    Many thanks,

    [personal information removed]

Dave thanks for the response and info to my question concerning Lightroom
and two different operating systems.  I was almost sure that there would be
complicating issues concerning a multiple operating system installation.
Doesn't sound to complicated though.  I'll give it a try as soon as I
purchase an external DVD drive for the Macbook.  I tried to contact Adobe
concerning this question, but their response system is so convoluted that
it would probably be easier to mount an expedition to Mars than have
someone from that company respond to a simple question.
    Thanks again,
    John
