Install Multilanguage Adobe Reader

Is it possible to install a multilanguage Adobe Reader?
I am creating an SCCM package to deploy in an enterprise environment that needs to install different languages of adobe.  I would like to install just one adobe reader to all but make the users able to change language in adobe instead of creating multiple installation packages, one for each language.
Is this possible?

You can download the 9.3 MUI update package, which I believe also contains the full installer, from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3/misc/.

  • Is there a 64 bit install for Adobe Reader?

    Hello,
I want to make a note that I did a search on the form, using the following text
"Is there a 64 bit install for adobe reader?"
And I did not find my answer.  That is why I'm posting this as a question.
So, with that out of the way....
I am getting ready to build a new computer for myself, and will be running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.  Before I begin, I want to make sure I have all of my software that I want installed, and I am doing research on each program to see if there is a 64 bit version that can be installed.  What I would like to do is have as many as my programs that I install be 64 bit as possible.  I know that not every program will be 64 bit, but I did want to get as many of them as possible to be 64 bit applications.
As I do want a PDF reader on my computer, and I have used Adobe Reader for years, I started looking on the web site to download the current version.  However, I did not see any place that I could download a 64 bit version of Adobe Reader.
That is why I'm here asking.  Is there a 64 bit version of Adobe Reader that I can download?  If so, where is it on the web site?
This does lead me to a follow up question.  Is there a 64 bit version of the Flash Player, as well as the Shockwave player?  If so, where can I download them from as well.
    Thanks in advance,

Again, I think you need to check the Microsoft web page, as I was able to find 64 bit versions of IE8 for download.
The URL to access the page is
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-8
From that page, I am able to select a 64 bit version of IE 8 for the following Operating Systems
      -- Windows XP 64 Bit
      -- Windows Vista 64 Bit
      -- Windows Server 2003 64 Bit
      -- Windows Server 2008 64 Bit
Windows 7 is not listed as an option as it already comes with IE8 installed by default.
Looks to me that Microsoft has already released a 64 bit version of IE8.
In fact, I went ahead and downloaded IE8 for Windows 2003 Server x64 bit, and looked at the details of the file.  Each microsoft download has a digital signature associated with them, showing a date and time of when the exe was built.
According to what is shown below, IE8 for Windows Server 2003 has been around since Sunday, March 08, 2009.
So, what has adobe been doing since March of 2009?  IE8 has been 64 bit for well over 2 years now (it will be 3 in March of 2012). While I know that it does take time to develop new applications, I don't think it would take 3 years for Adobe to come up with a 64 bit version of Reader that could have been built under the 64 bit platform.

You already posted this five times; and you already have a conversation with Adobe staff going on in the ExportPDF forum.

Why can't I open pdf's after install of adobe reader? Should I see it in system preferences?

There are can be reasons PDFs cannot be opened. For example, some forms created with Lifecycle Designer cannot be opened.
Are you sure the file is a PDF? Can you open it in Adobe Reader or Acrobat on a Mac or PC? Does it give an error message when you try to open it?

  • Silent install for adobe reader version 110003

silent install for adobe reader version 110003

    Hi,
I don't know your more details about how you pretend to deploy your Adobe Reader but I did this to my current deployment and many people on the company are happy with this:
1- I extracted the contents from the Adobe Reader installer.
2- I modified the MSI using Customization Wizard to hide some menus (Maybe you can skip this step if you don't need to customize it)
3- On SCCM 2012 I created a Script deployment with a CMD file which contains the following command for silent install. (You don't need to have an SCCM infrastructure to deploy it but it will help)
    start /wait msiexec /i "%~dp0AcroRead.msi" /q TRANSFORMS="%~dp0AcroRead.mst" PATCH="%~dp0AdbeRdrUpd11001_MUI.msp;%~dp0AdbeRdrSecUpd11002.msp"
    or
    msiexec /i "%~dp0AcroRead.msi" /q TRANSFORMS="%~dp0AcroRead.mst" PATCH="%~dp0AdbeRdrUpd11001_MUI.msp;%~dp0AdbeRdrSecUpd11002.msp"
    - On my case I used %~dp0 because I'm installing from a server caching files on client machines but if you pretend to test and install it locally avoid using: %~dp0 and put your absolut path. Like C:\Temp or your MSI and source files location.
    - Start /wait - Will execute your MSI installer file and then once is finished will proceed with the next command if any.
    - Transforms- will force the MSI to apply the custom settings I did on Customization Wizard)
    - PATCH- command will proceed to install the patches you may have at the moment 11.0.1, 11.0.2, etc...
Hope this will help you !

I have a new hp tower running windows 8.1 and have been trying to install the adobe reader.  The installer downloads (1meg) and I choose to run it but it just sits with an empty screen.  I've checked task manager and it takes up memory but does nothing.  After letting it run for 3-4 minutes I kill the task.  What can I do to get the reader installed on this machine?  I've tried using chrome, firefox and explorer and get the same results with each.

Try the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • I can't install free Adobe Reader

I'm using MAC OSX 10.9.4. I had some Adobe product, but recently I had some problem with other programs, so I cancelled it, and I tryed to install new Adobe Reader, but I can't, any versione, and any other Adobe product now. The download starts, but when I try to install it's locked, and the window closes without any alert message. What can I do? I need only a simple free Adobe Reader.

    Try the installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • I still can't install the adobe reader. I am looking for adit options button , also to add the web sit to the allowed sites. where can I find it ?

I have attempted to install an adobe reader update. where can I find the edit options button to click on it to add the website www.adobe.com on the allowed sites ? I can't find it.
== this evening when i tryed installing the update for adobe reader

The instructions on the Adobe site are outdated and do no longer apply to current Firefox versions and you can ignore those instructions and save the Adobe installer to your desktop and start the installation with a double-click on that file.

  • Custom install of Adobe Reader questions

    HI,
I used the Adobe Customization Wizard to create a custom install of Adobe Reader 10.1 for some Citrix servers.
I'd like to use 10.1.1 but can't find a base install for this, only an update.
This means I need to run the custom 10.1 and then run the 10.1.1 update.
    Is there any other way?
I didn't see any documentation to bundle the 10.1.1 update into the 10.1 install so it install automatically.
    Thanks

    Hi john,
Sorry, I didn't spot that. Hope I didn't waste your time.
It looks to me as if the update hasn't been tagged on to the original installation. Here's the download link for all of them: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?platform=windows&product=10
The only tools I can find are these: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/technical-resources.html#documentation-guides but you probably have them already.
Maybe one of the other contributors might be able to suggest an alternative method of achieving your goal.

  • I can't install newest adobe reader version, OS X Yosemite and iTunes cannot be opened.

First I tried multiple times to install Adobe Reader's new update. It says:
    Adobe Reader installation error
installer: Package name is Adobe Reader XI(11.0.09) installer: Installing at base path / installer: The install failed ( The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)
Then for the OS X Yosemite's installation, it says
OS X Yosemite failed to download. Use the Purchases page to try again.
I did so and the same message appeared again. (I also tried to install Mavericks 10.9.5 but since the Adobe Reader's problem, for some reason I can't to do any updates.)
Now I tried to open iTunes and it won't open as well.
    iTunes cannot be opened.
I'm guessing it won't open because of the Yosemite update. I really don't know what to do. Help!
Extra info: I have the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display and Webroot Security Anywhere Antivirus.

I only have English selected in my Languages.  I've seen that as a suggested fix in the past.

  • Icons generic since install of Adobe Reader X

Hoping someone can help with this, as we are drawing a blank here.
Installed Adobe Reader X on to our systems via group policy.
Since doing so, most of our machines do not show the adobe icon, instead we get a generic windows logo, attached at the bottom of the post.  Adobe is associated and does work when you double click on the link.
    So far we have -
Repackaged, removed and redeployed locally and via GPO making sure the option to "make adobe the default reader" is checked in the customisation wizard.
Uninstalled and reinstalled the full version locally
Rebuilt the thumbnails cache in Windows
Tried reinstalling Adobe 9 and upgrading from there
Set the file association to a different provider, and reset it back
    Applied the latest adobe updates
Nothing has worked, and even in the file associations in the control panel, the entries for PDF's also show the image below next to them.
    Any ideas?

I am having an identical issue. I have uninstalled Adobe reader 7.x and and rolled out Adobe Reader X using group policy. On both windows 7 and windows XP machines having issue with generic icon.
If i logon as local administrator the icons appear correctly!
Tried re-associating but doesn't work & tried reinstalling. It seems like my MST file is not being read maybe (i have pointed to it in the modifications tab under software installation).
Other weird thing is if i reload the package in the customizer most of my settings don't seem to be retained (one of whic that is not retained is the "Make reader the default PDF viewer).
Will probably try adobe reader 9.x install if this doesn't work.
    Any help would be appreciated.
