Install of Elements trial fails when installing Shared Technologies

Have tried installing the Elements 10 trial on both an XP Pro and a Win7 Pro PC and have the same problem.
Install of trial fails when installing Shared Technologies and then rolls back the install of the Elements Organiser.
Anyone seen this before?   Any ideas?

Can you please make your question a seperate thread?
It would be helpful if you could please provide us the install log for it. Install logs can be found at C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\ with name Elements STI Installer 1.0 <date>.log.gz
Use a decompression utility such as Winzip to uncompress the .gz file. Once uncompressed, you will have a new file without the .gz extension. The filename could now be something like "Elemens STI Installer 1.0 11-21-2012.log."
Open the .log file using notepad
Copy the whole log and paste it here.

  • PSE 9 install on Windows 7 (32 bit) fails due to "shared technologies"

I'm installing this older version of elements because it came bundled with an Epson scanner that I just purchased.
The install works fine on other computers running Windows 7.
My computer also has the following Adobe products loaded:
    Acrobat Pro 9
    Acrobat Reader 11
Contribute CS4 (and associated apps like Bridge CS4)
How can I find out what is stopping the "shared technologies" part of the installation to fail?
This happens way at the end of the installation. Everything is installed but then gets rolled back when the shared technologies failure occurs.

See if any of the solutions here help:

    Hi Willy,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The article below provides information about specific update and restore alerts, including the 9006 alert that you saw when attempting to update your iPad 2 to iOS 8.1. Try using the instructions provided to see if the issue is caused by a conflict with the security software on your computer.

  • Premiere elements 11 failed to install with the error about shared technologies

PRE 11 failed to install with the error "The installation process has encountered an error while installing shared technologies. Please restart your system and try again" all that does is uninstall everything and I have to restart agin with the same error and we go on. So far the only way it is working is at the point of the "error message" I run task manager and stop the installer, I know it's leaving files that should be removed by the installer, but it worked. This information was gained on one of the forums and seems to work. Yesterday was the first time I really used it fully and although I was able to create a project I cannot output it as a file (mpg), it starts to output ok then throws up an error and fails. As PRE 10 was still installed I imported the project (which amazed me) into PRE 10 and outputted as required with no error. All this may be due to something being wrongly installed or not being installed in PRE 11, I don't know. Can anybody help

  • Photoshop Elements 12 fails while installing shared technologies.

I am having the exact same problem as all these folks. Yes I have tried all these things, yes I have followed all the links, and scoured the internet:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5914286
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5909390#5909390
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5904696#5904696
Elements 12 install fails during install of Adobe Organizer. No indication of problems in the logs, just fails and rolls back. Near as I can tell the folks at adobe don't know what the real problem is, they only have a long series of very complicated and arcane tricks that _might_ "fix" the problem. I have tried all of them in every imaginable combination and still can't get elements 12 to install. I have installed stock, plain vanilla win7, applied hotfixes, tried to install and it still fails.
I repeat. This install failed for me in an identical fashion on a clean win7 box.
Any software that requires even one of these hack measures to install should be sent back to the shop for more testing. I've been told variously to try all these things, and more!
copy the installer to the root of c:
Delete this folder or that folder
Make a new admin account and install with that
    Edit the registry
    Turn off services in msconfig
    Install in safe mode
What would be most helpful for me right now would be either 1) a patch to fix this critical install error or 2) explicit explanation from Adobe about what the real problem is so I can fix it myself.
I'm a little edgy, sorry for the tone. This is the single worst install experience I've ever encountered.

    Hi Jeff,
To follow up, I had an adobeconnect session today with a very competent and friendly adobe tech. It looks like we have resolved the issue. He said there was some kind of problem with air and/or bridge not keeping their files updated, not 100% on that part so don't quote me. He said one way to fix is to completely uninstall anything adobe and start from scratch. The other option is a little hackish, but it works for me and saves me the trouble of completely redoing the install. To follow up here are the steps to get this working, ymmv:
    - Go through the Adobe Premiere Elements 12 install process up to the point where installing shared components crashes. Do not click OK.
    - Start the task manager (ctrl+alt+del)
    - Go to the processes pane and kill msiexec.exe*32 process, the adobe installer should die.
    - Delete the Adobe Premiere Elements 12 link that's created on the Desktop. Do not use this link, it points to the Welcome screen and crashes.
    - Also delete C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 12\Adobe Premiere Elements 12.exe, for same reason as above.
    - The exe that works is in that same directory called "Adobe Premiere Elements.exe", it doesn't go to the welcome screen and it does seem to work.
    - Now it requires Adobe Application Manager to run, and we just killed the installer so you have to go grab it from:
         http://www.adobe.com/appsmanager
    - You don't even have to actually run it, just download and install and you're good (If you do run it it updates itself to Adobe Creative Cloud which has unknown consequences).
    - Now run Adobe Premiere Elements.exe and plug in your adobe id
    - ftw, should be good to go.
I tried this on 3 different machines. The installer broke identically on all and this procedure got it working. NB - Organizer apparently still isn't installed, but that doesn't bother me. Not sure if this will impact long term operations.
Thanks for your assistance, this does seem to be working for me now.

  • PE 9 always fails when installing shared technologies.

I even paid for it (I know theres no diffrence) but I always get the same error (Adobe Premiere elements failed to install shared technologies. Rolling back changes). I have windows 7 x64 And after 3 HOURS of waiting of the phone for a rep, I decided not to contact them for any info. PE 7 installed fine, but they don't work on windows 7.

Use task manager to see if you have any other Adobe software running in the background - Adobe Bridge is often the culprit for these installation errors. If you find anything running then use End Process.

  • Error while installing Premiere Elements (trial)

    Dear all,
For my study I need to use Adobe Premiere Elements. A few days ago I decided to download it through the Adobe installer. All worked well, the setup started successful as well. But when it reaches the 'shared technologies' part, it displays an error. The error does not state the shared technologies is the problem, but as I have tried six times by now and it always crashes at that point, I am pretty sure this is the problem.
As I said, I have tried installing it several times by now, turned the computer off and on several times, changed the OOBE folder, tried to install Pr. Ele. on a guest account on my computer.
I have read the forum thoroughly but unfortunately to no use. I really, really hope someone can help because I do need to use this program and I cannot think of something I did wrong with downloading/ installing.
    Some specifications of my pc:
    - Acer Aspire
    - Windows 7
    - own CS6

    AstridE,
Thank you for the follow-up, and sorry that the installation is still causing problems.
Maybe a step back would be worth a look. This article is a general "checklist" for installing most Adobe software. Please take a look at it, to see if you have perhaps missed something along the way: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3419692#3419692
There can be several factors, that can cause an installation to fail, such as having anti-virus, anti-malware, etc., running, during the installation. This is exacerbated with the newer active, real-time-scanning anti-virus/malware programs. They should be turned OFF, for the installation.
Good luck, and please report on your progress.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 fails to install

When installing the first disc of Photoshop Elements 10 for PC it reaches InstallShield Wizard Complete window but says the wizard was interrupted before it could be completely installed and Shared Technologies has also failed to install.
I've tried this a few times now but this comes up everytime although no other applications are open and nothing has interrupted installation.
Any ideas on why it is doing this and what I need to do for it to complete installation?

    Operating system version?

  • ADFS MFA Adapter fails when installed manually

    Dear experts,
When following the article on http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn807157.aspx, my ADFS service cannot load the WindowsAzureMultiFactorAuthentication provider, eventid 105.
I used the 'Install the AD FS Adapter standalone using the Web Service SDK', with the edited config file using a username and password. When browsing to the SDK folder on my MFA server using IE from the ADFS server, I can login and use all SDK services normally
but ADFS fails. Installing MFA locally on the ADFS server fixes the issue, but manual configuration should be possbile according to the technet article.
Also, there is an error in the technet document, it says to
    Run the MultiFactorAuthenticationUserPortalSetup64.msi
But this should of course be the adapter MSI file.
    Is there a fix?
    Sincerely,
    Jos

Thanks for the note on the typo. We'll fix the documentation on MSDN and the MFA Server help file.
For those having issues getting the adapter to work, we have had a couple of support cases escalated recently that both turned out to be typos in the config file. The registration script needs to have the correct path to the config file, and the config file
    should look something like this:
    <ConfigurationData xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
        <UseWebServiceSdk>true</UseWebServiceSdk>
        <WebServiceSdkUrl>https://server.domain.com/MultiFactorAuthWebServiceSdk/PfWsSdk.asmx</WebServiceSdkUrl>
        <WebServiceSdkUsername>domain\username</WebServiceSdkUsername>
        <WebServiceSdkPassword>password</WebServiceSdkPassword>
        <WebServiceSdkCertificateThumbprint></WebServiceSdkCertificateThumbprint>
    </ConfigurationData>
From the ADFS server, you can copy the WebServiceSdkUrl into a web browser. You should be prompted for a username/password. Enter or copy/paste what you have in the config file. it should display the web service operations without any certificate warnings.
If there are warnings, you may have to import the certificate into the Trusted Root Certificate store so that the ADFS server trusts it.

  • Trial Fails to Install or ask for serial

I was able to get the Trial version of CS4 to install but then I had problems and uninstalled it the second day. More on this problem in another post.
Ever since this uninstall the trial version refuses to install again.
    One of two things happen:
    1) The trial install completes but then displays an error saying the install failed "one or more components failed to install" -but gives no details. If I try to launch the program anyway it asks for a serial number even though it was installed as a trial.
    2) The trial install completes but asks for a serial number.
The trial spent a total of about 30 HOURS on my computer so it's not possible that it ran over the trial period.
There have been no previous versions of Premiere (trial or full) ever installed on this computer.

    Great.

I've installed perlbrew successfully, but my attempts to use it to install perl 5.12 and 5.14 have both failed, apparently due to some problems encountered when applying locale.t.
