Install of Itunes 7.0.1 fails - "registering modules"
New install of Itunes 7.0.1 fails/freezes at end of install during the process "registering modules". I'm forced to kill the install and go back to version 6. Any ideas and or suggestions for getting the new version to load??
Thanks!!!

1. Choose Run from the Start menu.
2. Enter this text and press Return:
msinfo32
3. Choose Save from the File menu.
4. Save the file as "sysinfo" to your desktop.

ITunes 7 Installation Stalls when "Registering Modules"
This issue has been brought to attention in at least three other threads.
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3107851?
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3095951?
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3101863?
One board member has already suggested installing Itunes 7 on another computer and importing the installed files directly onto the 'problematic system.'
Unfortunantly, this doesn't work fo all. Therefore I am hoping that this thread becomes a 'ground central' for this problem. Has anyone tried anything else that works? Does anyone at Apple have any idea as to why the installation stalls at this point?
Thanks,

Crystal Report 2008 Installation Failed - Registering modules
HI Folks
I'm trying to install Crystal Report 2008 on XP Pro SP2. The installation stop on Registering Modules, even if I click Cancel,
it does not do anything it just hang there. I have to kill the process in Task Manager. If I restarted the installation,
it says that I have already an installtion process running. So I have to reboot and then restart the installation,
now it says that it will continue a previous uncompleted installation. But it hangs again at Registering Modules.
It does not even stop at the same file. I have done this process several time with always the same result.
Each time it stops on a different file but always during the Registering Modules process.

Arivalagan sAs well as that make sure you are a local PC administrator or belong to that group. Also check Microsoft's site to make sure you have the latest Microsoft Installer. I believe there is a test tool to check your PC.
Do you know what version of CR 2008 you have? There should be a ProductId.txt file to confirm the version. SP 3 should fully support DEP so if you don't have it download it from this [link|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009989492010E/cr2008_sp3_fullbuild.zip].
Then it should get past Microsoft's security. If it's your Anti-V as Stratos suggests then only option is to disconnect from the network and disable it, install and the reconnect.
The other common registration issue is due to missing dependencies or possibly updated dependencies that CR found but can't use. Some of our dependencies are specific versions.
Thank you

Install of itunes v 12.1 fails on windows 8.1
I have just tried to update iTunes to 12.1 on Windows 8.1 and it fails looking for iTunes.msi file.
I tried downloading software then installing but it also fails.
Now iTunes has stopped working.
Any suggestions folks?
Thanks
AllanFor general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

have tried numerous times to complete installation, all fail at registering modules. cant uninstall previous because its not listed in add and remove programs. deleted itunes folder under program files since nothing else worked. this step didnt either.
in task manager, noticed cpu useage is 100%. there are six instances of msiexec.exe running. four at 00 and two at 50 apiece.
all antivirus and spyware programs disabled for install too.
a simple "forced" upgrade to the latest version tonight and now itunes is lost and wont work.
thanks apple.
hp pavillion Windows XPI've had exactly the same problem (in fact I always have a problem installing i-tunes) I've tried using the MS Installation Cleanup Utility, deleting the Quicktime files from my program files and System32 folders, turned of anti virus and anti spyware and it still didnt work...
...But after reading your post I noticed that I too had several instances of msiexec (four in my case). While the installation was still hanging on module registration, I opened task manager and shut down the processes, as soon as I did the registration completed!
I know it's not too scientific but it worked. It may depend on the order in which you stop the processes - give it a go, it might just work. -
Initially iTunes would not run although it had been running quite well up until now. Suddenly received this error on PC start-up "The program can't start because MSVC80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Research on Net pointed me to iTunes as the issue. Tried to start iTunes and received that message again. Tried installing latest version of 64-bit iTunes and received the subject message part way through the install: Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
iTunes has been running great on this PC for years. What's up?

I am trying to update my iTunes to 10.5.1 so that I can upgrade my 3GS phone but am getting the following error message when trying to install the itunes: Install step failed: Run pre upgrade script for apple mobile device support. Contact software manufacturer for assistance. I am on a MacBook pro running 10.5.8 OS. Has anyone seen this before and how can I get it resolved.
Thanks for your help in advance....Did you ever figure out the problem? "Contact Software Manufacturer"?? That sounds ominous... I've got the same issue and I'm pretty durn aggravated right about now....

Numerous attempts at a clean install of iTunes have failed. I am running Win7 64 bit on a Toshiba L series Satellite w/8G RAM and 100 G HDD space. Error message was (-42404), but following a complete (recommended) uninstall am now getting "Error 7". The prior uninstall included the establishment of administrator rights to files and folders left in the Apple folder after running the uninstaller, and successfully removing ALL visible and hidden Apple files and folders.
Any other suggestions out there folks? On Oracle Metalink site, there are many documents which says that Oracle 32 bit software works on 32 bits OS and 64 bits software works on 64 bits OS. Official support is only in those combination....
So there is no good way to help you in your case-XE is 32 bit application with hard codded compiled libraries which most of them would not work on 64 bit OS.
Sorry

With that one, I'd start with solution 3 from the following document:
iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install -
Attempted update to iTunes 10.5.2 failed on my Windows XP system. Now my phone is not recognized. I tried installing manually. I tried to repair using Add/Remove programs. Still get errors.
Try doing it in a WIndows Safe mode - Restart computer and hit F8 key right after your see BIOS check and choose "Safe mode with networking"
Do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that does not work, whilst in safe mode, download Free Malwarebyte software from CNET's Download.com. Install, update virus definition then perform a full scan. Remove if it did find some viruses or trojans. Restart computer.
Back to regular windows, do the SFC /SCANNOW again.
If that doesnot work, check to see if your Hard drive has errors or bad sectors
GO START BUTTON /COMPUTER, right mouse click OS (C:) and choose "Properties"
Choose "Tools" tab and under error checking, click "Check Now".
Make sure "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors" is checked and click start.
Restart windows will perform the above task to fix errors This may take hours depends on how big is your Hard Drive
Good Luck!!. -

Itunes sync- fifa 13 failed to install
i have ipad 2 GSM jailed (6.1.3) i have downloaded FIFA 13 (latest version) in my computer, but when i sync FIFA 13, this message pop-up during the installation process on ipad "itunes sync- FIFA 13 failed to install" other apps installs successfully..... iv also used programs like ifunbox, itool to install FIFA 13 but still it doesn't install...i hav also installed the same FIFA 13 in my ipod touch 4g...it installs successfully and it is working, it only doesn't work on my ipad
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
I'm attempting to reinstall ITunes because of a runtime error (R6034) when I start it. At end of install it says 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start. I verified that I have admin privileges. Can anyone help?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
