Install of Nokia's Dev suite 2.0 for J2ME(TM)

Just an off chance, but has anyone installed nokia's Developer's suite 2.0 for J2ME(TM).
I keep getting the error message "An unsupported JRE version detected. This product can be installed and used with JRE 1.4.1 or higher....."
The thing is I have higher versions or the JRE than this on the machine and I have them set into the classpaths and path of user and system environment variables on my Windows XP O/S.
Although when I try and do a java -version on the command line it doesn't recognise it.??
regards

Be sure to have supported JDK installed (I'd go for JDK instead of just JRE; JRE is 'subset' of JDK). You probably had set the path settings wrong - check Windows help on how to do that. When you type java -version in cmd line it should show JRE version.

  • Re-installation of a damaged/partial install of Oracle Dev Suite 10g (9.0.4

    Hi
First of apologies if this is the incorrect location to post - I couldn't find a dedicated forum!!
    My problem is this......
I have followed Oracle's guidelines and created a silent installation of the full Dev Suite 10g (9.0.4) and have used this many times successfully to install to fully patched Windows XP Pro workstations.
Periodically the installation fails and only partially completes....no problem I naively thought - reinstall.
Initially I tried re-installing over the top of the partial install - but this always fails with the error "You have specified a non-empty directory to install this product...etc"
Oracle's recommended method is to uninstall and then reinstall - except the installer doesn't think anything is installed.
The obvious thing was then to delete all folders and files pertaining to Dev Suite....this also failed with the same message!!
I extended my deletion to temp folders, windows\prefetch and the registry......still fails!!
Frustratingly the java installer doesn't have the force reinstall switch that the windows installer has....gggrrrr...
So I had the mad idea of watching a manual install......this generated the non-empty folder error......so I deleted the folders and hey bisto!! Then I started getting these errors "The value of the environment variable path is more than 1023 characters. This value cannot be set."
I even tried creating a response file against a damaged install.....failed with both of the above errors.
Now I am stuck....if only Oracle used a decent windows installer!!
I did think to check the installation on a virgin build workstation - success....
I really hope someone can help me with this as it's driving me mad!!
    Please help
    Thanks in advance

    Many thanks Sainath.....
This has certainly helped......the limitation appears to be in the java installer......it seems to check whether there is enough space in the Env Var PATH and errors if there is insufficient space.
Of course the installer was written in pre SP2 days when the Env Vars were limited to 1023 characters......todat SP2 allows 2047 characters.
My installation script now temporarily modifies the PATH variable, allows the installation and then returns the PATH variable to its original state and then adds the DevSuite paths.
    I can now smile again.
    Thanks
    Greg

You can find all the Oracle documentation at http://docs.oracle.com
From there you can browse to the Developer Suite documentation, including the installation guide, at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25016_07//doc/dl/core.htm

  • Error 83860075 after install of Nokia suite 3.3.86

After upgrade to Nokia suite ver 3.3.86 I am unable to sync calendar between Outlook (ver 2003, 11.8169.8172 SP3) running on WinXP SP3 and my e71.  Option to sync phone, calendars and tasks, is greyed with the message "To sync your calendar and tasks between your phone and computer, first open Microsoft Outlook and fill in the settings for your Outlook profile"  As I have not changed any profile settings I do not know what is missing as I haven't changed anything at the Outlook end.
I had to have an IT colleague with administrator rights on my PC install this Nokia suite upgrade.  I'm not sure if this is significant.
Can someone advise how I can get my phone and calendar re-sync'ing ?
(Why does Nokia suite always insist that you must upgrade ?  If I could have stayed with the version I was happily using, I would not have this problem !)
    TIA
    John.

    Hi John,
Please do check your sync settings from Nokia Suite Options and make sure they are up to date. For some reason it's known that sometimes (quite randomly) Nokia Suite settings do disappear while updating to a newer version.

  • Re-install Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite

    Hello,
I removed the Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite and now I am wondering how it can be re-installed .
    TIA
    PD

The only thing that helped when I was having the problem was to login into the MMC and right click on the user and go down to Use Website As User. This will open the web interface for the user, but will have another feature on the bottom under Account Settings. You will see a button called RESET ACCOUNT. Click this it should fix the problem.

  • Ins_plsql (install problem) Dev Suite 9i on RH 8

    Hello,
I am having trouble in installing Oracle Dev Suite 9i on RedHat 8. I am getting a make error for ins_plsql.mk.
"Error invoking target of makefile - 'ins_plsql.mk'. Its a linker error I guess. Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Keith

This is the "Binutils Issue". It can be solved by downgrading binutils or by the method below, which worked for me installing iDS902 on SuSE 8.1.
I did hit another error after fixing this one with the ins_reports.mk and ins_forms.mk, but everything else works works. Evidently these issues have to do with /usr/X11R6/lib/libXm.so.2.1 missing, which comes from the openmotif package.
An essential document for Oracle9i on Linux is
    http://www.puschitz.com/OracleOnLinux.shtml
The solution below is taken from that. There are some other solutions if this gives you trouble (it worked for me).
Edit the file $ORACLE_HOME/bin/genclntsh and change the following line (people have sent me emails pointing out that this also works for Mandrake 8.1 and Mandrake 8.2):
    LD_SELF_CONTAINED="-z defs"
    to read:
    LD_SELF_CONTAINED=""
Then run the script $ORACLE_HOME/bin/genclntsh as the user "oracle" and not as the user "root". Also make sure you have all the Oracle environments set! (I got so many emails because people were not doing this)
    $ su - oracle
    $ $ORACLE_HOME/bin/genclntsh
    Created /opt/oracle/product/9.0.1/lib/libclntst9.a
    $
After that hit retry in the error popup. This always worked for me. (I was told that this also works for SuSE 8.0.)

  • LV8,5 Dev Suite install, error "Measurement Studio for VS2003 not installed""

    Hi guys,
Installing LabVIEW 8.5 Developers suite, installed LV8,5 OK, but all otehr products (CVI, Studio, etc) come up with error messages as per attached photo, "measurement Studio for VSXXXX not installed"
When should I have installed this ? which DVD has this ?
    Any help apreciated

Do you want to install Visual Studio, CVI, etc.?  It looks like you are running the device drivers DVD, and must have told it to install All device drivers, rather than just the ones it determined you needed when it scanned your system.  So when it tries to install the device drivers for VS and CVI et al, it can't find that software on your PC.  If you want that software, they would be on other CD's in your Developer's suite package.  Install that, then run the Device Drivers DVD again.
If you only want to install Labview, rerun your DVD for your device drivers again, and only install the features that it wants.  I find the device drivers DVD takes a long time to initialize, and I believe that is because it is scanning your PC to detect what other National Instrument products you have installed so it can populate the list of what drivers you need to install.

    Hi,
    I have similar problem.
    Nokia 6234 (Vodafone model)
    PC Suite 6.82.22.0
NB FUJITSU-SIEMENS COMMING with Toshiba BT SW
    Windows XP Professional SP 2
Problem: Bluetooth Stack for Win by Toshiba works and comunicates (pairing OK) with the phone, but...
trying to connect the phone in PC suite I go for Bluetooth, follows 123 pairing code, same procedure on my phone to pair with the PC suite,
BUT THAN A STRANGE PAIRING REQUEST DIALOGUE OF THE TOSHIBA STACK SW COMES ON AND WHEN I PUT THE SAME CODE, PHONE SAYS "CONNECTED", BUT THE PC SUITE SCREEN REMAINS IN SOME STRANGE WAITING STATE AND ... ... NOTHING HAPPENS. THE PHONE CONNECTING SHOULD FOLLOW BUT NOTHING HAPPENS SO I MUST CANCEL IT ALL:-(((
Strange thing: My computer seams to miss the original WinXP SP2 original Bluetooth drivers. Also in the control panel I am missing the "Bluetooth devices" option, that is refered in every Windows help file, refering to bluetooth technology.
And when I uninstall the stupid Toshiba SW, my computer really seems to miss any BT driver, because nothing works.
    Strange things happening here.......

  • Startup errors on Oracle 9i Dev Suite frm Unix srvr

Trying to startup Dev Suite from a Windows 2000 client. The Developers Suite is installed on a Sun Blade Unix server. From Xterm I enter the command ./f9090desm.sh to run the Forms application and get the following errors:
FRM-91111: Internal Error: window system startup failure
FRM-10039: Unable to startup the Form Builder.#
Is this because of a problem with my environment settings? Should I be trying to identify a wrapper that will set the environment and run that first? If so, how do I identify the wrapper file? What can the SA do to assist in this?
    Bill

You definitely need some environment variables set. The most common cause of this error is failure to set the DISPLAY variable. If you do a search on MetaLink for the combination of those two errors, you should see articles that will help you. One such article is Note.1075912.6     Troubleshooting FRM-91111 internal error - window system startup failure followed by FRM-10039, which contains several suggested solutions.

  • Three tier architecture using oracle dev suite 10g & oracle database 9i

    hi ,
I am trying to build a software which will manage the database of a hospital through usual form design .
The tools I am using for these are
    (1) oracle server database 9i (2) oracle developer suite 10g (3) windows xp professional service pack 2 .
I have designed the form modules in developer suite , created the tables in the database , connected those tables to the form modules using dml statements, now data can be inserted , updates and deleted through the form design . I have also deployed the forms using "run forms through web" and thereby other computers connected to the main computer through lan can also access the software using the web port address and the name of form to be used , these computers are not having oracle developer suite or oracle database installed , but they can access the software through the browser .
In this scenario my question is that , is this a three tier architecture as oracle database is the first tier , oracle developer suite is the middle tier where I am puting all the bussiness logics and oc4j instance is used to connect the database and the dev suite , and for user interaction we have the browser as the third tier ?
or this is a two tier architecture ? if this is a two tier architecture please let me know how can I implement a three tier architecture using oracle developer suite 10g and oracle server database 9i .
Thanks a lot for showing ur interest to read this

You need Oracle Application Server to deploy the forms when you go live.
What you are currently using OC4J which came in the developer suite. It is used only for development purpose and can not have capacity to handle higher load.
    3 tier arch
    1. Thin Client :-> Browser
2 Middle tier -> Oracle Appln Server /OC4j(in ur case)
3 Database Tier -> Oracle Database

  • Oracle Dev Suite and Oracle DB Server on same machine

I have Oracle 10g database server already installed.
Now I want to install Oracle Development Suite 10g on the same machine.
Should they be installed in the same or separate Oracle home?
Is their anything I need to be aware of when installing?
    Thanks!

Install the Developer Suite in its own Oracle Home.
Think to adapt the tnsnames.ora file of the Dev Suite path to connect Forms/Reports to your database.
