Install of PB 11 on win 7-64 bit fails
Like everyone else, I'm being forced to upgrade my machine to Win 7.
(because XP has been desupported)
I tried to install PB 11 on the win 7 machine.
It installs infomaker fine... but, when it gets to the end of the Pb install it crashes
I was able to install the PB12 version without any problems.
But, we still have some clients that are on the older version of PB.
Any ideas on what could be causing the problem?
it simply comes up with a message saying the program has stopped running
and, my only choice is to cancel the install
an appcrash message
I saw an old posting in one of the google groups... but, there wasn't much help there

I'm having exactly this same problem with PB 11.1 on Win7. I've gotten a bit further, since my old XP was still available, but I haven't got it working yet either. After the APPCRASH on the installer, I found that the installation was missing these 4 files from C:\Program Files (x86)\Sybase\PowerBuilder 11.0
pb110.exe.config
PB110.lic
pb110_sysam.log
pb110_sysam.properties
I copied them over from my XP machine and started PowerBuilder. It said:
"The Sybase SySAM license was not validated. You will be given a chance to change the SySAM license."
The PowerBuilder GUI opened and it prompted me for what kind of license (standalone seat, local license). I clicked next and it prompted me to load the valid license key, which I did (I had checked in my license from my old XP and gotten a new license for my Win7 from the PowerBuilder site). Then clicked Next. It then told me "A PowerBuilder SySAM license and reference with the following characteristics will be generated. Click finish when you are ready." It was showing all the right info for my local machine. Then it said "The development environment will now shut down. The license you selected will be used when you next run." Looking good! Clicked okay. Bad news, though. The lic, config, log and properties files don't get saved (dates are unchanged from the old machine). And trying to open PowerBuilder again gets the same prompt that the license wasn't validated.
More curiousness: I tried to edit the pb.ini file to turn on logging, and it won't let me save. Something else has a handle on it. More if I figure it out...

Cannot install updates to CS4 in Win 7 64-bit
I have installed CS4 on a new Win 7 64-bit PC. There are 5 updates to install, however, although they download, I cannot install them

As the result of your comments, I am satisfied that my CS 4 has been updated as far as it can be! I'm on Version 11 and the Camera Raw Version is 5.0.0.178
No later Camera Raw versions can be downloaded into CS 4 and that includes the requirement of my current SLR and my Compact, however, I am free of that worry, as I always convert my images to .DNG as I download from the camera!
I understand now Curt, how to determine the individual download files included in a proposed update operation......so thank you for that.

I have done just that - I ran the cleaner and removed Acrobat entirely. Did a fresh install. Everything looked fine, was able to enter my serial number successfully, and got a successful install message. Yet when I try to open the program, it will bring up a box briefly which then disappears and the program does not launch. Subsequent attempts do not even bring up the box. No program running in task manager. This is version 11.0.07, running on Windows 7, 64 bit. I don't know if it makes a difference, but this was obtained through TechSoup.org. -

You will need to go to each of the hardware device component manufacturers websites to see if they have W7 32 bit drivers.

Can't upgrade or clean install new Blackberry Link in Win 8 32 bit system

I cant install the New BB Link version on my system - (the previous version ran perfectly).
Whether I try to update or clean install (old version now uninstalled). I get a pane saying that Microsoft visual C ++ 2008 Sp1 redistributable - W8 needs to be installed first.
The process starts that install - but alwayys fails. After that the BB Link install just closes.
I can't seem to attach any screenshots (be helpful to be able to 'navigate' to them rather than type in a path). But I havepasted below the full txt contained in the 'windows installer' pane that appears when the install fails.
Can anyone suggest any way to correct this problem please? Btw, the new BB Link installs perfectly onto Windows 7.

Unable to install CTM Client on a WIN 7 64 Bit machine
We recently U/g a 64bit machine to Windows 7 and now we are unable to install the CTM Client. The error we get says unable to install due to machine configuration. Is there an update to the CTM Client we need. we are running 8.5.

Error when installing 10.5 on my win 7 64 bit
I keep getting an error when I try to install Itunes 10.5. It seams to install the whole program and then gives me an error and rolls back the installation. I've seen that others are getting the same error message. does anyone know how to fix this?
ThanksOk, if you get this message I've read a bit further and found that you must uninstal everything that has something to do with apple. this includes the device driver. this link may help you with that. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 Once I went through the list and deleted everything (device support is a *****). I installed it again and it came up with the same error. I then clicked ok and it rolled back but automatically started installing again and it worked. I know have itunes 10.5. but know my iphone 4 wont connect to it, lol. it says i have to reinstal because the driver didn't take or something. I really want the OS update for my phone but gd this is a bit much.

Can't install CS5 Master collection engl Win 7 64- bits
I've downloaded the trial (no problems) and went installing.
After only 3% the installation is shut down (exit code 7) with an impressive error log of 12 fatal errors, 144 errors and 135 warnings.
Am running English (IE) Win7 64-bit (no additioanl language packs installed), quad core 3,23 GHZ, 8 GB RAM, 2* 1024 MB ATI HD5770 graficcards (crossfire enabled) the computer is actually just a few days old, all updates installed. The installation is run as administrator.
I tried installing the Microsoft VC80 and 90 files (in payload) - no result, it did not matter if I just ran the trial installation or provided a license code (genuine).
Any ideas?

Hello All, I am trying to install Premier Elements 10 on a Windows 7 Pro box 32bit running an Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad Core @ 2.40ghz, 2gb ram, I get the following error " This installation package is not supported by this processor type, Contact your product vendor."," What's wrong?
Interesting, I guess I need to call the Alienware folks and find out why they installed a substandard processor in such an expensive gaming box. I do have several other processors I can swap it out with, do you have a recommendation on a good processor that will get the job done? Learning is never a waste of time, but giving up is. How to install 64 bit Lightroom 2 on Win XP 64 bit
I read that the default for WinXP is 32 bit, and I really want to install the 64bit version on Win XP 64 bit (not Vista).
Is it possible to do this? If not then I am definitely not buying it.
If yes, any instructions on how to force the install of the Trial version to install 64 bit.
If not, I hope PShop CS4 is made available in 64bit for Win XP 64bit.

Can't install HP M1132 MFP on win. 7 64-bit
Hi,
I can't manage to install an M1132 MFP on Windows 7 64-bit. I've tried in on three different computers and laptops and after the installation process is completed it says it has failed.
I've also tried installing it on a 32-bit win 7 and it works without any problems. I've tried changing the USB cable, they are 1.8m long, so the cable length shouldn't be a problem.
I'm clueless, I just bought the printer and i'm thinking about sending it for the warranty.
If anyone faced this problem before, please reply.

I understand you are getting a error when installing the printer on the Win 7 64 bit computers.
I will be happy to help you.
Are you signed in as Administrator of the computer?
You want to use the normal USB slot 2.0 not the latest USB 3.0.
USB 3.0 are supposed to be backwards compatible.
Do a msconfig to turn off any startup programs that might be interfering with the installation.
Click on start, in the search box type in run, enter, then type in msconfig, click OK.
Click the Services tab.
Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
Click Disable All, and then click OK.
Then click on the start up tab at the top.
Click on disable all.
Reboot the computer.
Temporarily turn off any Antivirus software.
Then run the installation again.
Don't connect the USB cable until prompted.
Test the printer again.
Then go back into msconfig and enable the All Microsoft Services and enable all on the start up tab.
Turn the Antivirus software back on again.
If you are still having issue follow the steps in this document I have provided. Improving System Performance without Adding Memory (Windows 7).
