Install old notes into replacement iphone 4s

After 10 months of struggling in vain with my service provider ( Three network in the UK) to get my iPhone 4s working properly, I eventually spoke to a helpful person at Apple who has arranged to exchange it for a new one.
Brilliant!
My service provider couldnt care less if my phone worked or not and my earlier call to Apple to help sort out my phone ended up in an arguement with one of the "tech support" staff who wanted £69 off me to fix the alleged software problem that he assumed I had because he hadnt listened to anything I told him about the problems I was experiencing.
This was extremely poor service from Apple, thank goodness I managed to speak to someone in the UK who listened to me and wanted to help.
Anyway, rant over, and to the question.
I have a back up of my phone on my iMac, but I would rather activate as a new phone without restoring the backup.
I can install all my settings, email, internet and apps, no problem, but, I also have over 150 notes that I want to put back on the new iPhone.
I have Notes app on my iMac that has a copy of all the phones notes. How can I copy these notes into the phone straight from the iMac?
Allan

Sync them to the new phone as you would with any other content from the computer.

  • How do i get Apple Notes into my iPhone

I just upgraded from Leopard to Mountian Lion on my MacBook Pro. My Apple Notes are no longer syncing to iPhone or appearing in Apple Mail ony my Mac and my iPhone 4 (OS 6). Notes are on my dock with data. Any suggestions?

You can sync with the Notes app using IMAP or iCloud. Syncing Notes using iTunes is no longer supported on OS X v10.8 and later.

I downloaded ios7, and it started installing it via wi-fi 3 hours ago.

Should I assume it's stuck or is it normall?
    Many thanks!

mine took a long time lost patience and rebooted it and then I started from the begining
so guess I made it take even longer and I did it over usb

  • Installed an update on my iPhone but it is not taking in my old passcode now

    Hi,
I successfully installed an update on my iPhone and am being unable to login onto the phone. It is not accepting my old passcode and the interface has also changed. Is there a default passcode that I need to know after the installation?

Yes, the phone is for use in my company and I do have an exchange account.
I was hoping I get a mail regarding the change of passcode but havn't received one as yet. Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

  • ITunes Restore to Replacement iPhone Did Not Work

    Hi,
My iphone died Wednesday night. It would not start anymore, even with the hard reset sequence. Last night I took it to the Apple Store and was amazed that they replaced it on the spot. No loaner. No forms to fill out. Just sign here ... and here is a squeaky new 8GB iPhone to replace mine. So far so good. first class service.
I asked about restoring my data. The guy at the genius bar said "so long as you synced recently in ITunes, all of your data will be restored". I had synced every night, so I should be fine. "Even my contacts and phone numbers", I asked? "Yes" he said. He switched my old sim card into the new iphone. I started it and called home ... it just worked.
When I arrived home, I put the iphone in the cradle and voila, iTunes launched, said it recognized that this was a different iphone and offered me a choice of registering the new one or restoring the old one. I opted for restore and the restore started.
A couple of minutes later I saw the apple logo on the iphone (restarting) and the following dialog on the screen of my PC: "Could not restore iPhone because a timeout occurred during restore." Ouch. But I noticed in iTunes that the name of the new iPhone had indeed changed to the name of my old iphone (silver swing phone). So I thought perhaps the restore had worked ... but some hand shake failed at the end?
I ejected from Itunes and took the iphone out of the cradle. Thumbed through the apps ... no data. No contacts, no notes, no email accounts and no ipod content. So I put it back in the cradle and hit "Sync" on Itunes. The ipod content then started syncing and 10 mins or so later I had 7GB of audio and video back in place. But still no contacts, email accounts or notes.
    So questions:
    1. Has anyone had a better experience with restoring to a replacement iphone?
    2. Does anyone know if my contacts, notes and email accounts are backed up in itunes still ... and if so, how can I get them to restore?
    3. Did the restore really fail? If so, should I worry about my new iPhone?
    4. If ITunes does not back up my contacts, notes and email accounts ... is there another way to back them up for the future? I am feeling demotivated about adding 100 contacts back in manually if there is not some way to back them up and reload them if I have another iPhone failure.
    Thanks

I doubt that this early on many people have encountered this function of the phone. It obviously is some sort of glitch, however your contacts and everything should still sync as long as they are on the PC. Make sure in the ipod settings that you have it set to sync with the computer. I don't know why it would have been shut off but somewhere there is obviously a problem. Don't worry though, everything should be on the pc.. it is just a matter of telling itunes to sync it to the phone.

  • Notes (iCloud) – old note replaced new

This is the second time it happens to me. I use Notes.app often and it works fine mostly – so I'd say the issue is rather rare – but oh, so irritating when it happens since there can be a lot of text that get lost.
I was writing text into a note sheet on my desktop (Mac Pro) and before going out I put it to sleep. Then I continued working on the note on my iPhone, on the go. When getting back home I wanted to continue on the note on my desktop computer, so I woke it up. What happened then was that the old version of the note replaced the newer one I had worked with on the iPhone. All text added was gone. It seems I also ended up getting a duplicate of the old version of the note.
So, something fishy. Quite irritating since I had written a lot of text on the go on the iPhone.
Anyone else have had this happen and/or now of a possible fix to prevent it from happening again?

Yes, it will. You cannot merge information on the phone. If you want the old messages, you will need to restore from a backup of the old phone, which will make the new phone look just like the old phone. If you want to save the messages from the new phone, you will not be able to get the messages from the old phone.

  • I update my IPhone4 to IOS6 from IOS4.3.3. My all songs are missing in the Iphone4. How to get those songs into my Iphone from ITunes. Even after sync also not coming to IPhone.

The iphone is not  storage/backup device.
The sync is one way - computer to iphone.
The only exception is itunes purchases.  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You should copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

  • HT1414 I just got a replacement iPhone 5 (64MB) for one with a cracked face, and tried to restore it.  Got an error message saying the iTunes could not restore the iPhone because not enough free space is available on the iPhone.  Now what?

I just replaced my iPhone 5 because of a cracked face.  I backed up the old phone to iTunes.  When I tried to restore my data off of iTunes to the new phone, I got an error message saying that iTunes could not restore the iPhone because not enough free space is available on the new iPhone.  Now what?
I have Apple Care+, but I'll be darned if I can find any way to contact anyone at Apple to talk to about this.  They take your money, but make darned sure they don't have to support you unless you jump through a bunch of hoops first, like this site.

I've done a restore.. The phone was completely wiped back to factory settings.. It then tells me there isn't enough space on the phone to restore from back up? How when the phone is empty?!

  • I have recently purchased a used iPhone 4, when i plugged it into my pc a skull came up instead of the apple icon.  My pc does not recognise the iPhone, I have tried everything that I can think of.  Has anybody any ideas on how I can fix this?

I have recently purchased a used iPhone 4, when I pulg it into my pc a skull icon appears instead of the apple.  The pc also does not recognise the iPhone.  The phone was originally purchased in March of this year, so it is under 12 months old.  Has anybody encountered this problem and or know how I can fix the phone? Thanks

You have apparently purchased a jailbroken phone.  You can try to get it into recovery mode, then restore as new, but no guarantee it will work.

You can restore from the backup of the old one.

  • How to import old iPhone SMS.CSV file into new iPhone?

    Hey everyone,
So I've spent a couple days on this as I just upgraded to the iPhone5S from my 4S.  Long story short, my backup restore didn't work after multiple tries (gave me the file is corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone error).
    I tried:
    -reinstalling itunes
    -updating itunes
-combining the 5S backup with the old 4S backup
    -tinyumbrella
and a few of other things as I've forgot now.
The most important things I needed was the contact list and SMS history.  I've got the contact list from extracting is successfully from the iTunes backup folder and using iCloud, but cannot figure out how to import the SMS.CSV file into my iPhone5S.
Any suggestions on how I can get my SMS messages from my iPhone4s into my 5S?
If anyone has any other suggestions on getting my Backup Restore to work that would be awesome too!
    Thanks!

A word on SMS text messages. It is pracitcally impossible to import an SMS text-messages file to a new iPhone and have the Messages app on the new device read the messages.
You can transfer, however contacts and other individual data (such as calendars and notes) from one iphone to the next. I had my old Nokia which whose contacts I exported to a CSV file. I then imported the file to my iphone which converted the file into multiple contacts in the Contacts app on the iphone. You can use a contact management app such as this one in order to import the contact file to the new iPhone.
