Install on multiple computers without redownloading?

Just installed Mountain Lion on my Mac Pro. I want to install it on my other Macs but I'd like to avoid redownloading it each time. Is there an installer file hiding somewhere that I can use?

If you've installed it the installer will have been deleted afterwards - you should have quit the install dialogue and copied the installer file to a memory stick or extrenal drive and copied over to the other Macs.  One of those things....

Can i use this download and install on multiple computers?

I assume you're talking about the Lion installer?  If so, yes, you're allowed to use it on any machines authorized with your Apple ID (which I believe means a maximum of five machines).  This is, of course, meant for family use...  I'm not sure about business use, but I'd suspect you need one copy per machine at a business.  If you're in that situation, you may want to wait for the $69 Lion flash drive Apple will be releasing next month sometime, as that won't be tied to an Apple ID.  But check with Apple to be sure on that.

  • Is there a way to Install Captivate 8 without having to log on using an Adobe ID? We need to automate the install on multiple computers.

We are a small IT department that needs to do multiple installs of software on multiple computers. Having to input an Adobe ID for the install is a hindrance.

Hi a couple of years back i f needed to do a similar thing with adobe photoshop elements 7, i found that there was an instalation file that could be edited that would input the serial number and other settings, i then used group policy to run the install.exe, maybe have a search for this type of thing?

  • Can I install on multiple computers?

Where can I find the license agreement that states whether or not I'm able to install Snow Leopard on multiple computers?

The license agreement on the media is generic and has clauses covering both the single-user and "family pack" versions. The Family pack packaging and inserts identify them as such and grant you license to install the software on up to 5 Apple-branded computers that you control.
With OS X Lion, the terms are changed. Per the App Store and OS X Lion license agreement, you may make one purchase of Lion and install on "each Apple-branded computer running OS X Snow Leopard or Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server that you own or control" (i.e., there is no limit to the number of upgrades from one copy).

  • Syncing ical across multiple computers without .mac

    Hi,
Is it possible to sync ical calendars across multiple computers in the same network or over the internet without .Mac? If I have a website or ftp server, can I use that instead to synce over the internet or is there an easier way? Thanks.

    This is another related question.
Having at last extracted a decade of diaries from Palm Desktop as vCal (since you ask I had to go back to Classic as the app quit without writing the export file in Tiger and Leopard, even tho it is otherwise OK) I now have something I can import rather messily into iCal.
However as I have really bad internet access in the Boondocks where I live I don't want to use .Mac to sync between my iMac and iBook. Palm ran very happily from a thumb drive, but I don't see how I can do it as the powers that be seem to have made the data file invisible.
I'd like to move it to the thumb drive and have an alias on each Mac where the data should be - as I do with Palm.
Does anyone know the path, and if there is a problem doing it between Tiger and Leopard?
    Cheers, Colin

I'm working on a project that has a lot of text.  I'd like to install Incopy on a coworkers computer to facilitate the workflow,  or does she have to use Word?  Is this a free program, or just included in CC?  Thanks!

  • Can I sync my calenders and contacts on multiple computers without storing data in the cloud?

I have multiple Macbooks and IOS devices. Can I sync Contacts and calenders over all machines without using the Cloud. Perhaps over my own wiFi network? Anyone have any answers?

You need to first back up your iPhone with iCloud and/or iTunes. When you Set Up as New iPhone, it will be erased of all the data, and be like a New iPhone. Then you can Restore your previously saved data from iCloud or from iTunes on your computer. But back up first.

  • Charging from multiple computers without erasing my songs...

I want to be able to be able to charge my iPod by plugging it into any USP port on any computer without it being recognized / mounted / updated etc.
I want to be able to do this at work, school, library, friends' houses and so on.
    Is this possible?

"plugging it into any USP port on any computer without it being recognized / mounted / updated etc."
The USB has to recognize it in order to power it. The USB port receives 500ma of power at all times unless you run your computer in a power saving mode where power is turned off to the USB ports. If the IPOD is set to run in disk mode it will merely show up as an additional hard drive and charge. If not set to run in disk mode it will be recognized as a portable media player and your Operating system will look for a driver to load and won't find it unless the ITunes disk has been installed.
    So there's your answer.

  • Can Logic Be Installed on Multiple Computers?

I am looking to buy this application and am wanting to know if I can install it on two laptops. Me and my Uncle want to split the costs and thus have to install it on both computers. I own a PowerBook G4 and he owns a MacBook Pro. Would this be possible? (We both meet the system requirements)

You can install it on two computers as long as you only use it on one at a time and the user is yourself. Check your license agreement.
Installing one copy on your own computer, and another copy with the same serial number on your mates computer for them is against the terms of the license.

  • Installing on multiple computers

I am the network admin at our school. We are rolling out the laptops and desktops in the next few weeks. What do I install on each computer or do we let the students install their own cloud after we roll out the imaged computers. Should I put anything on our image that we push out?

    Hi there,
Both options are available to you, either students can manually install the software's or you can create a packahe using Creative cloud packager and deploy the software's on their machine.
Please check http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/packager.html as it talks about creating and deploying the package.
    Thanks!

  • Install amoung multiple computers?

    Hello!
My question is... I have CS6 Master Collection and want to install between 1 desktop and 2 laptops. Example: All programs(except After Effects & Premier Pro) on desktop and laptop one. After effects and Premier only on laptop two. I already have Web/Design Premium on laptop two(different purchase/serial number) Would this be so called "Adobe legal?"
    Thanks.
    Thomas

    Thanks for the reply Mylenium!
Is it not technically possible because the serial number would be asociated with 3 computers? At this point After Effects & Premier have not been installed on any machine from my Master Collection. If I am understanding you correctly, I need to purchase another copy of After Effects and Premier for another $1800 to have it on the mac I want it on? You would think after the $4500 between Design & Web Premium CS6 and the Master Collection CS6, I could get the programs I want on 3 computers!

  • Maintaining an iWeb site from multiple computers without MobileMe

    Hi,
I've chosen iWeb '09 to create the web presence for one of my hobby clubs (RC aircraft). The club doesn't have a MobileMe account, and I've used the FTP upload feature in iWeb '09 to publish the site. This has been working perfectly for me, but what I'd really like is to be able to continue working from either my MacBook or my iMac, depending upon my location. Sometimes I'm away from home and have some free time to update the site, but other times I am at home and I want to work on it from the big-screen iMac.
I realize that this can be done via copying domain files to a shared drive, and my thought is to share an external hard drive to both my network, and over the internet via an Airport Extreme. The only documents I was able to find regarding this referred to hosting on MobileMe. My only worry is that this may not be possible if I'm NOT hosting the site on MobileMe. In another life, I used FrontPage to publish such hobby sites, and it could work on the files from any copy of FP on any computer. Though I don't really miss FP as a whole, I do miss that feature.
Yes, I know it will likely be suggested that the club open a MobileMe account. I have one and I love it, but let's face it... 100 bucks a year is a bit much. The club's entire web hosting service isn't even half that.

Before I go off on a trip I upload a zipped copy of my domain file to the server. I can then download it onto another Mac in another location to work on it.
You'll find another method at the bottom of this page under "Updating your Website from Multiple Locations" .....

  • Is there a way to sync mail across multiple computers without using .mac?

I'd like to be able to use either of my machines to check/respond to email, and have both of them be updated with both incoming messages and my replies. Is this possible outside of using a .mac account?
I'm using 10.4.6 and also the latest version of Mail.
Thanks in advance for any insight!

Yes, there are several people that have published the steps to set up your own .Mac service by reverse engineering the protocol and rolling their own server to provide web services to emulate .Mac.
If you are looking for a hobby, I would encourage you to try it. Assuming you are sophisticated enough to google it and find some steps you can use, it should not be that hard to set up.
Please note - I haven't looked over the licenses for all of the software involved (Mac OS and .Mac) - you might be in violation of your license term by reverse engineering parts of the system or violating copyright/patents. As long as you don't go into business or diverting income from Apple - you may well be fine by learning how they did things.
P.S. I assume you mean syncing the mail settings, not the actual contents of the mail box.

  • Can I download Pages to multiple computers without seeing all the projects

Can I download the program Pages to more than one computer and not see everyone elses projects?

    Tom,
Whether you can see someone else's projects depends on where the documents are stored and how the permissions are set, and has not so much to do with whether you all have the same app to open those documents with.

  • Install disk for multiple computers

    Hi,
My wife just got a new mac book pro today with the Leopard install disk.
I have a mac book pro with Tiger on it. Can I use her disk to install Leopard on my computer, or do I need to buy a separate Leopard install disk for me?
    Thanks!

You need to purchase Leopard. Not only are you not legally allowed to use her disk to install on your system it may not work and could mess your system up
Only Family Packs are authorized to install on multiple computers
