Install only JRE and not WebStart with v1.4
I have an application running over the web that automatically installs the JRE for people if they haven't installed it yet. Right now, I'm using version 1.3.1, but I'd like to change that to version 1.4.1.
When I install the JRE with support for a browser, though, it automatically installs WebStart, which I didn't ask for. I don't need WebStart to be installing on people's computers, so I was wondering if there might be a way to install the just the JRE (and browser plugin). Anyone know if there's a way?
I also want to find a way of installing without Webstart.
REason is that this is for a citrix installation and Webstart makes the apps work differently.

if i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it to the option 'set up as a new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and log into my apple ID so i can just restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos, contacts, ect. and then later i can add contacts that i need/want instead of them restoring them from icloud?
The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...

-sierraHey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. We just bought a blue ray with pc to tv capabilities. The Sony website offered plug ins to enable this feature. When trying to add plug in pc-to-tv.xpi (for Firefox) we received this error message "Send from PC to TV 0.7.1 (Beta) could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 3.6.12." any ideas?

Please read that bug I linked you to and let me know if the last comment in the bug solves your problem. Apparently the problem is about the addon .xpi file being read-only. Try right-clicking it, going to Properties and unchecking the "Read-only" attribute box at the bottom of the dialog. Click Apply, then OK. -
went to use create & print in bluemountain got "In order to use create & print in Mozilla you must download and install latest version. Do you want to install plug-in?" (clicked OK). Next message was "Firefox prevented this site (www.bluemountain.com) from asking you to install software on your computer" (clicked Allow) Next message "Create & Pring plugin could not install because it is not compatible with firefox 4.0.1" -- this sound like a firefox problem not bluemountain. Please help... I am paying to use bluemountain and firefox is not letting me get my $$$$ worth out of that site.
Launch Disk Utility in /Utilities. Then, click on the volumes under the top-level disk. The one that has this listed on the bottom is the boot volume.

Installing Grid Control and not using ASM
Is it possible to install Grid Control and not be using ASM? We are on the brink of beginning our install (Peoplesoft) and may not use ASM. It seems to me from documentation that I'm reviewing that installing GC assumes you will be using ASM.

the Grid Control Repository database does not require ASM. It works perfectly fine with datafiles on a normal filesystem.

If it's on the activation screen then you need to type in the id and password of the account that it's locked to.
If you bought the phone used and it's still linked to the previous owner's account then you will have to contact the previous owner, only he/she can remove the phone from their account : Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner’s account - Apple Support
If it's your account and it's not recognising it then you could try contacting Apple (either an Apple store or iTunes Support online) and see if they can remove the phone from the account - they are likely to want proof of purchase e.g. original receipt with the serial number on it

Western (ISO 8859-1) is the default encoding in Firefox.<br />
That web page doesn't specify an encoding and the server doesn't send one either, so the default in Firefox is used.<br />
If you get those diamonds then you either have a wrong encoding set or there is a problem with the (Verdana) font that is used. -

need lightroom 4.4 asmac is 10.6.8 and not compatible with anything higher. Does this come with the creative cloud? Would really like a disc but that doesn't seem to happen anymore. Currently have cs4 and d7100 hence need 4.4 to open raw Any ideas? Is this now customer service or does adobe have a customer service team . Site not user friendly. Thanks

No; but then, I've not had occasion to use TDM. I've been using firerwire drives for over 10 years, both FW400 and FW800, with no issues except a bit of instability using a B&W G3 machine.
TDM should be safe. Using cautious, manual copying of files from the Target machine to the Host machine should not result in unexpected loss of files or damage to the Target drive's directories. It should behave exactly the same as if it were an external (to the Host) firewire drive.

I installed FireFox so I could take advantage of the TV-Fox add-on which is supposed to provide free television, so I can cancel my cable. But, as stated above, I got the following when I tried:
