Just confirm:
I've downloaded d2k6irelease2.tar from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/forms/htdocs/linuxsoft.html. Is that the right one for Oracle Form/Report 6i Developer? If not, please let's me know where can i find the Oracle Form/Report 6i Developer Software and installation guide?

Does anybody had an experienced to install Oracle form/report 6i developer or where i can find a step by step installation guide for Oracle form/report 6i developer? I've downloaded Oracle form/report 6i developer software and follow the installation guide but it's very unclear. And of course, failed few times. Please, help me out.

Installing Oracle Forms Reports 11.1.2 on Windows 2008 64bit throes OutOfMemoryException: PermSpace when running the ASInstance configuration. I tried to configure the JAVA_OPTIONS variable to increase the MaxPermSize parameter but is not working.

The server has 16GB of memory and this is a new installation. I tried to configure JAVA_OPTIONS=-XX:MaxPermSize=512m and JAVA_OPTIONS=-XX:MaxPermSize=1024m but it didn't work.

Installing ORACLE Forms & Reports Ver 10g

Some serious problem, please look into it.
I installed Oracle Forms and Reports Services (10g) in Solaris
successfully. We are using oracle 8.1.7.3 version.
After installing when i am looking for "rwbuilder" in bin folder is
missing but others like "rwrun, rwclient, rwserver" all are there.
Then when I am running the "rwrun.sh" I am getting the error
"REP-0001: Unable to find the Report Builder message file. Please verify
your installation."
Changed permissions for reports/mesg directory. But still same problem.
do get back.

Hi Rakesh,
rwbuilder.sh should be present in $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory. If not, it seems like there is some problem in the installation. However, the missing message file error is because of not setting the ORACLE_HOME environment variable. Try setting ORACLE_HOME enviornment variable before invoking rwrun.sh. It should work fine.

I would like to install Oracle Forms and Reports 11g (11.1.1.4) on Windows 2012 Server. So could you please suggest me whether Windows 2012 is certified or not for installing Oracle Forms and Reports 11g (11.1.1.4) .

Forms 11.1.1.4 is not certified for Windows Server 2012. Further more, no 11g Forms release is actually certified by Oracle to run on Windows Server 2012.
I would use Windows Server 2008 and use Forms 11.1.2.1 (11gR2). 11gR2 is the best release from Oracle and will run much better than Forms 11.1.1.4.

for development, you need to install Oracle Developer
Suite 10g. This includes Forms and Reports.this topic interests me too, because I've downloaded Developer Suite and Database (both for 10g) from Oracle website, installed them, but I couldn't connect to a database.
What should be done for me to create a database link and be able to connect locally, in my personal Desktop computer? (Not to a server)
Once it was told me here that I should download 10g Database - I did it, and installed it, but it didn't work. Later, some of my job partners said I should install them in a sequence - that is, 1st the Developer, and 2nd the Database. But it has failed too. And I don't know how to configure a database connection.

So I Google for it and found that this is version mismatch (May be I am wrong) and it tells that I have to install WLS - 10.3.2 with ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.2.0_64 (1 to 4)
But I am unable to get wls version 10.3.2.

After the installation while configure the forms reports, I am stuck while creating domain.

This is my first installation of Oracle forms & Reports, so please do not pre assume about my understanding (Like "to install this he surely did this environment settings" )

Help me install oracle form and report 9.0.4 on red hat AS 4 x86

i installed oracle database 10.0.2 on my red hat AS 4 x86 in /u01/app/oracle/product/10.0.2/db_1. Now i want to install oracle form and report 9.0.4 on my computer in /u02/app/oracle/product/9.0.4
The oracle installer checks for required packages. It will produce the following list of missing packeges:
Package gcc-3.2.3-20 is missing
Package compat-gcc-7.3-2.96.122 is missing
Package compat-gcc-c++-7.3-2.96.122 is missing
Package compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.96.122 is missing
Package compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.122 is missing
Package setarch-1.3-1 is missing
Package sysstat-4.0.7 is missing
Package gnome-libs-1.4.1.2.90-34.1 is missing
Package libstdc++-3.2.3 is missing
Package compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.122 is missing
Package compat-glibc-7.x-2.2.4.32.5 is missingbut i installed newer versions of them. so can i continue to install without missing packeges??? and how to install missing packages because they conflict with packages i installed.

The requirements for installing 10.2.0 and 9.0.4 on RHEL4 differ - 9.0.4 is based on older versioned RSFs and require linking against older compatibility libraries.
The OUI may incorrectly complain if later versions of the required/pre-requisite packages really are installed - this should not be a problem functionally, however.
The latter errors you report, however (make, relocation error, glibc/symbol), are symptomatic of trying to link with/against incompatible gcc/glibc versions. Try installing the following additional compatibility files (appropriate for your architecture);
- http://oss.oracle.com/projects/compat-oracle/dist/files/RedHat/compat-oracle-rhel4-1.0-5.i386.rpm
- http://oss.oracle.com/projects/compat-oracle/dist/files/RedHat/compat-libcwait-2.1-1.i386.rpm
If you have not already done so, I suggest you create and use (i.e. source) separate environment definition files when working with each product/version environment. For 9.0.4, ensure that you specify environment variable LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.19 before installing 9.0.4 (or relinking).
If you have MetaLink access, refer also to Note.315832.1, Note.389811.1.

Which version r u planning to install? 6i or 10g?
If you are planning for 10g , I think it is not supported by Oracle.

Since i already had database 10g R2, can i just go head install Oracle form and report 6i on separate ORACLE_HOME? or i need to remove database 10g R2 first, and then install Oracle form and report 6i

When installing oracle forms and reports 6i, I get a screen says which product u want to install?
1. Forms builder
2. Forms server
3. Report builder
4. Report server
Whats the 2 and 4 used for? do I have to give the same oracle_home path for 1 and 2?

Uninstall Oracle client from your PC and then install Forms .It will work.

Installing Oracle Forms Developer 9i

1) I downloaded the trial version (free 30 days) of Oracle Forms Developer 9i and burned the application onto 2 separate disks at my college computer lab. The files were downloaded from the Oracle website as ZIP files.
2) Next, I made a directory (folder) on my desktop entitled:
C:\Documents and Settings\Julie
Harris\Desktop\OracleFormsDev into which I copied the 2 zip files.
3) Finally, I clicked on the first zipped Oracle file and had it extract into a directory that I specified called c:programFiles\OracleFormsDeveloper\
4) The problem is that now I have several (almost 100) files that were extracted from the 2 zip files and don't know which one to click on to install the program in the program files directory on my PC.
During the unzipping process with Winzip, I got a Winzip error that says: " I/O error. Unable to read from zip file." during the time that Winzip was attempting to extract the oembase.jar portion of the Oracle Program.
The Disk 1 files are extracted and I am currently extracting the disk 2 files; however, I don't know what file to click on to install the program once everything is unzipped. I don't see a setup.exe file; however I did notice autorun.exe on the 1st of the 2 CDs. Should I click on autorun.exe to install Oracle Forms Developer?
If I need to learn some other necessary steps to properly install this program, please let me know. I need to use the program do complete my class project.

if you are saying that one of the zip file was corrupted, chances are that you don't have all the files copied. The Developer Suite can be downloaded from OTN.

How to add a new font into Report Builder and Oracle Forms/Reports Server?

Hi,
I've searched the forum and can't find this being discussed.
My developers run Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 on their XP laptops.
Their reports run (in production) on Oracle Forms/Reports Server 10.1.2.0.2.
This server runs on MS Windows 2003, SP2.
They've got a client who wants reports using the "Garamond Western" font.
So....how do I get this font onto the developer's Report Builder laptops, and onto the Oracle Forms/Reports Server?
I've moved various 'Garamond' fonts into C:\WINDOWS\FONTS on both the laptops and the server, but neither seem to recognize it.

This answers 1/2 of my question.
The developer can now use Report Builder on his laptop, with the new fonts.
But when he moves this new Report to the Oracle Application Server/Forms-Reports Server, it fails to use the new fonts.
The Oracle App Server/Forms-Report Server is Version 10.1.2.0.2. It runs on MS Windows 2003, SP2.
I have installed the exact same fonts on this server, into C:\WINDOWS\Fonts.
I have used REGEDIT to change REPORTS_PATH....and placed C:\WINDOWS\Fonts; as the first value in this field.
I have then stopped and restarted the Forms-Reports Server.
